Context Trivia / Braceface

* BannedInChina: The episode "Busted" was banned in many countries (including the United States) because its plot revolves around Sharon wearing a special bra to make her chest larger to impress a boy she has a crush on.
* CelebrityVoiceActor:
** Creator/AliciaSilverstone voices main protagonist Sharon in the first two seasons.
** The Latin Spanish dub had Sharon Spitz voiced by telenovela actress & model Agustina Cherri.
** The Brazilian Portuguese dub has Creator/MarianaXimenes as Sharon.
* ChannelHop: While the show aired in its home country on Creator/{{Teletoon}} from start to finish, in the States, it originally ran on Creator/FoxFamily but later moved to Creator/DisneyChannel
* ChildrenVoicingChildren: A young Creator/MichaelCera voices Sharon's younger brother, Josh.
* CrossRegionalVoiceActing: For the first two seasons. Creator/AliciaSilverstone recorded Sharon's lines from Los Angeles, but the rest of the cast was based in Toronto.
* DescendedCreator: Creator/AliciaSilverstone, who produced the show, voices Sharon during the first two seasons.
* ExecutiveMeddling: Sharon becoming a vegetarian was largely an idea added at the assistance of Alicia Silverstone, who is a well-known and vocal vegetarian and animal rights activist. Tellingly, this trait was downplayed in Season 3 when Silverstone’s role on the show became much less prominent.
* InternationalCoProduction: Between {{Creator/Nelvana}} in Canada and Creator/JadeAnimation in China.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: ''Nothing'' after the first season is available on DVD, but the entire show is available through streaming on Tubi.
* MissingEpisode: A missing ''season'' in this case. The third season did not air in America because of the heavier subject matter of some episodes (like, in an infamous example, "Busted") that Creator/DisneyChannel probably found inappropriate for children (though the show's demographic probably has to go through issues like this every day). The episodes that aired in seasons one and two also had [[{{Bowdlerize}} parts cut]] to remove anything considered too controversial for American children (due to ValuesDissonance between Canada and the States regarding what is appropriate to air on kids' TV).
* TheOtherDarrin: Creator/StaceyDePass, who most viewers may recognize as the voice of Nikki Wong from ''WesternAnimation/{{Sixteen}}'', replaced Creator/AliciaSilverstone as Sharon in the third season. While the change between a celebrity voice actor and a regular voice actor doing a celebrity impersonation can be jarring and, at times, painfully obvious that the higher-ups hired a replacement, [=DePass=]'s impression of Silverstone is ''uncanny''.
* RecycledScript: The episode "Act Your Age" has a similar plot to the ''Series/SisterSister'' episode "It's A Love Thang".
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: More like screwed by two networks, at least in the US. It originally aired on Creator/FoxFamily there, but then Fox Family became ABC Family after the first season aired. Despite ''Braceface'' having pretty good ratings, ABC Family dropped it in the middle of airing its second season due to wanting to revamp the network and lose all "kids' shows" (''WesternAnimation/TotallySpies'' and ''Music/SClub7'' were also axed from their lineup for the same reason). Then, Creator/DisneyChannel picked up ''Braceface''. Not only did Disney not air any episodes that weren't already shown on ABC Family, but they also skipped many episodes that were shown (such as "Worst First Date Ever. Period." and "Miami Vices") due to the content being deemed inappropriate for the network's demographic. To this day, 37 episodes of ''Braceface'' remain unaired in the United States. However, the 37 episodes in question (along with the rest of the series) are available on Creator/{{Tubi}}.
