* CrossdressingVoices: Averted in the original English and the Argentinian Spanish dub, as all the male boys are voiced by actual males. On the other hand this is played straight in the Mexican Spanish one, when is the opposite case, except with Pee Wee, who was voiced by Creator/MiguelAngelGhigliazza.
* DiedDuringProduction: [[AsHimself Robin Harris was to voice himself in the movie]], but died before the film went into production. Faizon Love took the role in his place.
* DuelingDubs: There's two Latin American Spanish dubs: One done in Argentina and another one done in Mexico, being the Mexican one the most well-known one of the two.
* DummiedOut: The SNES game has the lines "too black" and "too strong" from Malcolm X's "Message to the Grass Roots" speech in its data, but only the latter is used in the track played while fighting the final boss.
* NoExportForYou: The SNES video game was only released in America.
* NotQuiteStarring: Robin Harris did not voice himself in the movie, as he died two years before its premiere.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Apparently, Creator/{{AKOM}} was set to do some of the animation for the movie. However, they were not involved at all in the final production, possibly due to their shoddy work on ''WesternAnimation/TheTransformers'' and ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries''. Instead, the animation was done by Creator/WangFilmProductions, Creator/BardelEntertainment and Creator/CharacterBuilders.
** The movie was originally going to be in live action and starring Robin Harris, but he passed away before production could start. They ended up making the film animated to dance around this.
** The original script, once they decided to switch over to animation for the film, was a lot more adult, cynical and bigger in scale since screenwriter Reginald Hudlin wanted to take advantage of the fact that it was animated but also was more heartfelt and fleshed out the characters more with Hudlin saying the original draft was better than the final product.
