* CreatorBacklash: For many of the actors, but Brad Swaile (the voice for Kicker) in particular.
* CreatorsPest: Creator/BradSwaile, the voice actor for Kicker, admitted later on that he hated Kicker.
* ExecutiveMeddling: The US dub is suspected of being pushed by Creator/CartoonNetwork into rush delivery territory.
* MissingEpisode: "Return, Our Scorponok!" was never translated or broadcast in America. This changes the audience perception of entirely, as it is revealed that .
** The loss of an episode that both explained a lot of things and was a major turning point in the series rendered a lot of events meaningless or confusing. No one's sure why it was left out.
* TheOtherDarrin: For the dub of episode 14, Megatron was voiced by Richard Newman (Rhinox) as opposed to his usual voice actor.
* PopCultureUrbanLegends: It's a popular rumor that Starscream in the original Japanese version is a clone (probably stemming from how he is renamed to "Nightscream" only in Japan) and that the dub changed him to the same character as his Armada self. In actuality, even the original dialogue refers to "Nightscream" as one of Megatron's past soldiers and Alpha Q just gives him a new name, meaning he's a revived Starscream there too.
* ScheduleSlip: So bad that the US adaption got incomplete sequences missing animation.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: Was shoved into an early morning timeslot whenever it aired on Cartoon Network, because its unfinished animation wasn't up to broadcast standards.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: From various sources, it seems there was an awful lot of ideas Hasbro and / or Takara had for the show that never got implemented. Some of the ideas did end up used in the comics, while some didn't.
** The Omnicons were originally thought up as evolved Mini-Cons. While Hasbro and Takara had both agreed on this direction, Takara's marketing department never told the creators of the anime, who came up with their own origins for them.
** Hasbro designer Aaron Archer wanted to have Megatron keep the Galvatron name rather than change back to his old name, now calling himself Galvatron Imperius, but Hasbro needed to protect the Megatron trademark. Had Megatron not changed his name back, he would have been in the G1 Galvatron colors from the start.
** Snow Cat, Roadblock, Mirage and Demolishor's dump truck form were intended to be all-new characters by Hasbro. It's pretty likely that Demolishor was supposed to be a new version of Long Haul, while Mirage was originally a SmallNameBigEgo with a white-colored clone named Dreadwing who would rather kill everyone instead of sticking to his assignments (Snow Cat's original concept remains unknown). This was also the case with a number of redecoes and retools over the line's course, most notably changing Roadblock (intended as a new character and an homage to G1 Grapple) into an upgrade for Inferno - Roadblock's toy bio even still refers to him as if he were a new character. The same thing also happened with the toys that would become Landmine and Cliffjumper's new forms in the anime, with the former becoming Landquake (and repurposed as Landmine's mostly Pacifist brother) and the latter a Pun-making homage to G1 Beachcomber.
** Alpha Q (snerk) was meant to be Unicron's servant.
*** Meanwhile, the show writers' idea for Alpha Q was that he would turn out to be a little girl, the princess of Planet Q (or if Hasbro vetoed the idea, he would be a young prince, or just a ball of light). The princess form's face would be Alpha Q's hidden and final face, revealed after Kicker would "shatter her shell" (referring to his closed armor). Some remnants of this remain in the show, as the Japanese version gives Alpha Q the voice of a young child when he speaks in his true voice (changed to a multi-layered voice in the dub representing all of the people who died in Planet Q's destruction).
