Mitchum, knowing that Peck didn't mean to and ever the professional, refused to break character and continued filming the scene. However, upon entering his trailer, Mitchum said that he "literally collapsed" due to the impact of the punch and said that he felt it for days afterwards.
16	* FollowTheLeader: The film was admittedly an attempt at replicating the style of Creator/AlfredHitchcock, in particular ''Film/{{Psycho}}'', down to being DeliberatelyMonochrome and hiring Music/BernardHerrmann to compose the music.
17	* HeyItsThatPlace: The hotel where Max takes Barrie Chase is "mother's house" from ''Film/{{Psycho}}'', where Martin Balsam met his demise two years earlier.
