* The infamous "lighthouse scene" (as seen in the heading quote of the HeroicBSOD page) is easily one of the most heart-wrenching scenes in all of gaming, and if it doesn't make you feel at least a ''little'' sad, your soul is as black as coal. Upon returning to her home, Jade finds her lighthouse completely destroyed, and all of her children missing as she runs through the ruins screaming their names. As the enormity of what has happened sets in, complete with EmpathyDollShot, she collapses against the wall. Her dog appears from the ruins and cuddles up with her; as she strokes his head, she gives a heart-felt, sob-wracked speech that subtitutes her dog [[SurrogateSoliloquy for her own failures]]. Even Double H is clearly fighting back ManlyTears.]
** Made worse if you've been checking up on them, which will only make you more attached and adds that much weight to it.
** And of course, the part that happens before it at Mammago. You're just done with your shopping to take the Beluga out to space, when, just as you leave and literally half a second before the loading screen, you hear an unexpected boom. One loading screen later, you see the lighthouse smoking and a few ships flying away. You can't get there fast enough.
** Hell, the actor sells it so well that even the ''[[http://www.bgemyth.net/?page=plus_d_infos/creation_du_jeu/interview_jacques_exertier/interview_jacques_exertier.php studio]]'' was in tears.
* The "TakeMyHand" scene is a triumphant TearJerker, as it shows us just how much Jade and Double H [[TrueCompanions have come to care about each other.]] After she's been chased across the rooftops by General Kehck, Double H waits for Jade on top of a large, floating UsefulNotes/{{billboard}}. He sticks out his hand for her. She jumps. She doesn't make it. Double H briefly panics; he then dives down the other side of the billboard. Jade slides down the front of the billboard, headed for her doom, with an absolutely terrified expression on her face. But as the last portion of the billboard slips through her fingers, Double H, now balancing precariously on the billboard's tiny base, catches her. Cue one of his {{Catch Phrase}}s, "Don't break up the team", in a [[YouAreWithMe whole new context.]] And Jade gives him a relieved, SugarWiki/{{heartwarming|Moments}} smile.
* The entirety of the scene where Jade realizes that Pey'j is dead. The music goes quiet, the camera pans out, and we hear nothing... And Double H simply mouths, "No." Staving off those ManlyTears again, he steps out to let Jade have her moment. She then takes Pey'j's hand and promises him...
-->I'll get you home, buddy... I promise.
** Even worse, after the scene, you get the option to "talk" to Pey'j's body. You get a single dialogue option telling Pey'j to wake up, and if you choose it, Jade just stands there until you exit out of the conversation.
** He gets better. This does not help in the tear department. In fact, if anything, their reunion is ''worse.'' Even if Pey'j's description of exactly ''how'' he got better is slightly cheesy, the look on Jade's face as she throws her arms around him says it all...
* The part where it's revealed Pey'j is still infected. There's a time and place for that kind of ending, game, and that is ''not'' it.
** Then again, they ''are'' making a sequel, so I suppose it's okay.
** I thought the gut-wrenching part was the logical extrapolation of that ending--Combine Pey'j is still infected, with the Domz specifically targeting Jade, add in the bit about the 'power' and finish with the fact that that infected hand is where [[TomatoInTheMirror Jade brought him back to life...]]
*** [[SarcasmMode Oh thank you!]] This game wasn't enough tear-jerker yet!
** [[FromBadToWorse And then there's the fact that the]] [[FridgeHorror whole kidnapped population were revived by the sane tainted energy...]]
*** Maybe not. Pey'j was revived while the Domz Priest was still in charge. Everyone else only after [[EyeScream he resigned]]. Of course, this could mean that [[FromBadToWorse Pey'j isn't infected with any general Domz, but with the Priest itself.]]
* During the Slaughterhouse mission, once you take the last picture, the game starts playing [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5zQGA857lE&t=8m4s a really dramatic and sad theme]] to drive home just how tragic this whole scenario is.
* So how about that Mdisk, huh? The one Pey'j gives you, called "For Jade"? A bit of backstory, and you learn about the spaceship you need to get to the final area. All to a sad soundtrack. (If you're watching the LetsPlay, it's close to the beginning of video 11.)
