1	* You spend an entire episode watching [[spoiler:Hina Ichigo slowly winding down to her eventual death, complete with stuttering movement and speech towards the end]].
2	** At least in the anime, [[spoiler:Hina Ichigo has a peaceful death.]] The manga on the other hand, [[spoiler:Hina Ichigo [[CruelAndUnusualDeath gets strangled and eaten]] by Kirakishou]]. [[KillTheCutie Needlessly]] [[NightmareFuel CRUEL]] Peach-Pit!
3	* The raw despair and lack of a will to live demonstrated by Megumi aka Megu, [[spoiler: a medium of Suigintou, who she ''begged'' to use up her life force. Did I mention she calls Suigintou "Angel-san"?]]
4	* Suigintou counts, at least when she's not in AxCrazy mode (Ouverture in particular). Despite being brought BackFromTheDead repeatedly, her death scenes make it as far from DeathIsCheap (or Narm) as it can be.
5	** Suigintou's entire back story counts, at least where Rozen Maiden: Ouverture is concerned. You feel so sorry for her, and then realize it was because of [[spoiler:Shinku and Souseiseki belittling her, and their revelation that she is an incomplete doll]] that turns her into the BigBad of the first season.
6	** It's not much better in the manga, where [[spoiler:her inverted crosses represent her father's rebellion against God, and she bears the sins of her father for creating life. After being created, she was left in a storeroom where the dolls are abandoned after being finished. Each one reminds her that she is imperfect and unwanted. When the Alice Game begins, she's so bitter that she decides to win the game out of spite. She wishes to destroy her sisters and become Alice as a final "screw you" to her dad.]]
7	* Kirakishou's backstory is sure to draw some tears. She was created with no physical body within the N-field and then [[AndIMustScream left alone there with no way of getting out or forming a bond with a master]]. Naturally, [[GoMadFromTheIsolation this drove her insane]] to the point that she no longer cared about roza mysticas or the Alice Game itself, only about getting a physical body which had been denied to her at her creation.
8	** Imagine how different Kirakishou would turned out if she was given the chance to give and receive love from her sisters.
9	* The 2013 anime [[spoiler: gives Kirakishou a very tragic death]] (though it's implied she actually survived). After Souseiseki's body is stripped from her and she's reduced to a trembling husk, Kirakishou makes one last attempt to plead for Jun to give her a body, saying she'd even remake the world for him however he wanted. Jun basically explains that he doesn't need her for any purpose, leaving Kirakishou to die alone and heartbroken.
10	* Before the first example, there was [[spoiler: Souseiseki dying in her sister Suiseiseki's arms after the two almost come to blows. Souseiseki is adamant in her duty to Father but Suiseiseki doesn't want anyone to fight. "How can you say you cannot bear to know Father is saddened when your own sister is crying her eyes out in front of you?!" indeed.]]
11	* Even though it's not canon to the story, [[spoiler: Barasuishou's death]] is not easy to watch even if you dislike her. Her eyepatch falling off revealing a perfectly healthy eye that had been concealed the whole time leads into [[VillainousBreakdown Barasuishou showing emotion for the first time]] in the form of love and desperation towards her own creator, who cannot save her, and she helplessly watches her own body disintegrate and fall apart.
