* Dr. Mi Ah, the heroes' boss at the start of the game, is a caricature of Haim Saban, founder of Creator/SabanBrands (the owners of the ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' franchise in America). Heck, his name is even "Haim" spelled backwards! He is depicted as [[TakeThat overbearing, bossy, and unpleasant to work with]] (although [[RealitySubtext the legal issues the developers had with Saban]] went over more amicably). He has since been renamed "Dr. Soap".
* The concept of stuntmen becoming actors of a sentai show which starts out on a low budget is taken from the development of ''Series/DennouKeisatsuCybercop'', a.k.a. ''Cybercops''.
** At one point you actually receive an E-mail from them, discussing the WhatCouldHaveBeen with the Venus Bit.
* During the tutorial, when the stuntmen express dissatisfaction and offer advice to Dr. Soap, he retorts: "[[Music/BackstreetBoys I never wanna hear you say 'I want it that way'!]]"
* One of the craftable sets of mecha legs references ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'' (even name-dropping "EVA"). Its power, "Wonderwall", is a possible reference to the eponymous mechas' [[DeflectorShield AT Fields]]. [[note]] Or possibly an Oasis song. [[/note]]
* One stage takes place at an anime convention, the entrance to which has statues of Anime/MazingerZ and ''Series/JAKQDengekitai'''s Big One, as well as the Franchise/SuperSentai logo on a banner in the convention center.
** At the same convention, the support and scout talk about getting [[Manga/AttackOnTitan "Mikaka and Eden"]] action figures
* Many craftable pieces of gear for your stuntmen reference different Franchise/SuperSentai and Franchise/PowerRangers teams, such as the [[Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger Dekapistol and D-Magnum]], [[Series/PowerRangersSuperMegaforce Super Mega]] [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger Pirate]] helmet, and the [[Series/PowerRangersZeo Zeo weapons]].
* The description of the cardboard box notes that it's mainly used for mecha parts or [[VideoGame/MetalGear to infiltrate military facilities]].
* After finishing an episode, one of the social media accounts that may comment on the show is "[[Creator/MatthewMercer @MathieuMercier]]", who wonders why there are no [[WebVideo/CriticalRole dire monsters]].
* One of the companies that you can hire for marketing is a top-secret superhero organization named "[[ComicBook/{{SHIELD}} ARMOR]]", lead by [[ComicBook/NickFury a man with two eyepatches]]. You'll also receive an angry email from "[[Series/SpiderManJapan Spider Boy]]", who is rather upset about being passed over for your sentai team.
** Meanwhile, the equivalent of ''ComicBook/TheAvengers'' is known as the "Revengers", referring to ''Power Rangers'' theme performer Ron Wasserman's song of that name. The song was a modified version of a rejected theme for ''WesternAnimation/TheAvengersEarthsMightiestHeroes''.
** Another late game marketing team is the E.D.S, or [[VideoGame/EarthDefenseForce Earth Defence Squad]], a multinational military force dedicated to keeping Earth safe. In case the name didn't give it away, the logo is remarkably close to some versions of the E.D.F. logo.
* Most of the bosses are some kind of reference or {{expy}}. For example, Ironing Man is a living clothes iron, [[ComicBook/IronMan painted red and gold that can fly and shoot using hand repulsors]].
* After defeating a monster in one episode, the Lead will quip that they are "[[Film/TheDarkKnight the heroes [the people] deserve, but not the ones they need right now]]".
* One scene has Techie trying to flirt with [[spoiler: Tammy]] by using some of the exact same dialogue as [[Film/ScottPilgrimVSTheWorld Scott's first meet with Ramona]], complete with the bit about ''VideoGame/PacMan'' originally being called ''Puck-Man''. To help drive the point home, the scene ends with the narrator saying "Sometimes it feels like it's [Techie] against the world..."
* The FinalBoss [[spoiler:Villain X]] declares [[ComicBook/XMen Magneto]]'s infamous Engrish line from the ''X-Men'' arcade game: "Welcome To Die!"
* With his flashy wardrobe and overtly flamboyant demeanor, there's no denying that Lord Gaga is basically a [[SpearCounterpart gender-bent]] [[spoiler: and [[EvilCounterpart villainous]]]] NoCelebritiesWereHarmed version of Music/LadyGaga.
** [[spoiler: After being defeated in the Season 4 Finale, Lord Gaga summons an angelic monster named Huengel. This monster is pretty much Brajira of the Messiah from Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger with a different color palette.]]
* One of the game's missions is a WholePlotReference to an episode of ''Series/TaiyouSentaiSunVulcan'' in which Misa Arashiyama was captured.
* If you beat the game and keep clicking after the credits, the narrator will get annoyed and ask "Do you think this is ''VideoGame/TheStanleyParable'' or something?"
** And also recommends the player to look into ''VideoGame/KnightsOfPenAndPaper'' (another game made by the same studio).
* The SixthRanger [[spoiler:Tammy's name is but one letter away from spelling "Tommy", as in "[[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Tommy Oliver]]".]]
** Additionally, [[spoiler: Her StanceSystem allows her to take on a Dragon Stance and a Tiger Stance, evoking Tommy's two most iconic power sets: the Green and White ranger powers.]]
** [[spoiler:Her introduction also mimics Tommy's from the "Green with Evil" saga, where the lead villain sends them to the heroes' base to attack their mentor directly.]]
* Another potential SixthRanger is a multi-part reference, [[spoiler: almost entirely being based off of tokusatsu veteran Kenji Ohba and his career. His real name is Kanji Ahbo, and his civilian clothes are a WholeCostumeReference to his ''Series/SpaceSheriffGavan'' brown leather jacket and white pants. His Night Driver costume looks like a ''Franchise/KamenRider'' suit at first glance, especially with the motorcycle called "Cyclone." However the costume also features the black, beige and green color scheme of Battle Kenya from ''Series/BattleFeverJ'', along with two thick white stripes like Denji Blue from ''Series/DenshiSentaiDenjiman''. Both were played by Ohba. Finally Night Driver is likely a reference to ''Series/KnightRider'', but also perhaps a joke about seniors driving.]]
* One of the Steam Achievements is "With A Wild Bike and a Dive Kick", which asks you to beat the game [[Series/KamenRiderDenO with time travel and space trains]].
* The very first weird, excited email sending you a warning you get is from someone called [[WebVideo/HistoryOfPowerRangers Lynxara]].
* The final boss can use a wide variety of weapons. One of them, a gun that opens portals to summon additional reinforcements, looks just like [[{{VideoGame/Portal}} a Portal Gun]] (and is even referred to as such) with the SerialNumbersFiledOff.
* One of the [[MonsterOfTheWeek Monsters]] is quite literally just [[https://youtu.be/FiARsQSlzDc Colin's Bear]], a slightly obscure memetic animation reeking of StylisticSuck due to its creator's irritation over his animation class teaching him basically nothing. The credits even give a SpecialThanks to Colin Sanders, himself.
* Robot Tiger is a walking ''Franchise/RoboCop'' reference and opens his second battle with [[CatchPhrase "your move, creep."]] in the English version. Also a reference to [[Franchise/StreetFighter Sagat's]] Tiger Uppercut being commonly misheard as "Tiger Robocop".
* The [[spoiler:Night Driver route]] leads to this little exchange.
-->'''Assault:''' [[Film/{{Taken}} I don't know who you really are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let them go now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will defeat you.]]
