->"Let me give you a 101 in XWA- we might all fight, we might be a crazy and dysfunctional place most nights, but one thing you should know about us is that we can pull through anything. You guys think you're the first, but you're the latest in a long line of groups who thought they could push us around. And I encourage you to ask yourselves “what happened to those people?”"
-->-- Hector Alonzo Perez, XWA Doomsday 2013

The XMakesAnythingCool Xtreme Wrestling Alliance (often referred abbreviated simply as the XWA) is a forum-based e-wrestling role-play board, set in the fictional Xtreme Wrestling Alliance league. Writers are able to create their own characters, and chronicle their careers and legacies with the company, competing with other characters created by fellow members.

In-universe the XWA is a successful, globe-travelling company with millions of fans across the world, much the same as World Wrestling Entertainment is in real life, albeit far less PG-friendly.

It has been running since 1999, and is match-writing based. It can be found at the following link.

XWA currently recognizes four championships:
* Supreme XWA Championship: Albion Gale since May 29, 2019
* XWA World Television Championship: Hanako Takeuchi since August 6, 2019
* XWA Hardcore Championship: Dave O'Connor since June 13, 2019
* XWA World Tag Team Championships: The Demon Slayers (A.J. Morales and Minka Carter) since May 29, 2019

!!Storylines and the environment of the XWA have provided examples of:

%%** Austin Carter also has his moments of this.
* AllAmericanFace: Jake Rogers, an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics turned professional wrestler who names his finishers after Constitutional amendments and brings his pet bald eagle to the ring.
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Pretty much any female valet character of the past few years. Carmen King, Amy Taylor, Isabella Raye, Bella Quinn, etc. Though, this is understandable given the nature of what the male characters do.
* AllThereInTheManual: The promotion's name is the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance. You'd think a place with a name like that would be as crazy as it is just from the name alone.
* AlternateUniverse: While there have been references to the top real-life companies, it is apparent the XWA does not take place in the same universe as them, rather a shared universe with other existing E-Feds.
* ANaziByAnyOtherName: The Fenrics are a family of Aryans, except for Adam, who were raised to be perfect. And they're Austrian too, which adds to the comparison ever so slightly.
%% * ApocalypseCult: Whisper's War.
* AcquiredSituationalNarcissism: NEVER let Diamond Jack Sabbath win a championship, it can only make him more arrogant if that's even possible.
* ArcWords:
** "We've come to take what once was ours."
** "Bury the Survivors" became one in spring 2017, and stayed that way until the group's defeat at the end of the year.
** "Try harder" for the Layton & Fenric saga.
* AssholeVictim: Jeffrey Grey, the interviewer for the Genesis show, is constantly picked on and made to look silly, but he's so unlikable and overt that people allow it to slide and almost applaud it.
* BadassAdorable: Angelica Vaughn is a sweet, innocent girl who loves kittens and everything cute. She can also kick pretty much anyone's head off.
* BadBoss: There has yet to be a long-running authority figure in the XWA that has had unanimous appraisal.
** Richard J Maxwell sat on the fence when it came to picking sides, and in trying to be fair he suffered for it and just ended up getting hated by everyone. Later on, he would conspire with Angelus and would make him the world champion for no other reason other than thinking it would bring in the ratings, and also antagonise top guys like Rose, Diamond Jack Sabbath and Tempest.
** Hector Alonzo Perez's run has been plagued by this- ignoring Rated X and Whisper, micromanaging Amy Taylor-Sabbath, giving Blake Jones, Jack Jackson Jr. and multiple other stars an harder time than is probably necessary. He wants to do right, but he is shown to be very pompous most of the time and quite difficult.
** As General Manager for Massacre, [=the MadDog=] spent the better part of his first night on the job hearing how much people already hated him. It would become a running theme for his whole tenure.
** Diamond Jack Sabbath's two-year run as General Manager was one of the biggest mistakes the company has ever made. Sabbath only ever cared for Razer and Bella Quinn, otherwise everyone else was a target. He united Raine and Whisper (and later Serena Maxwell) as his own private enforcement group, removed DQ and Count Out from all matches and antagonised the entire roster...all quite simply because he could.
* BadassBoast:
** Any Rated X promo is pretty much crawling with these.
** Diamond Jack Sabbath to Trace Demon: "This is going to be the last time we face, Mr. Demon. And I promise you'll remember it forever. At best I'll just defeat you. But at worst, Trace...these hands will ruin you career."
** As Emery Layton once proclaimed, "Bad people are my hobby."
*** And another one from Emery aimed at her arch-nemesis Minka Carter- "I travelled 'cross the globe. I wrestled everywhere I could. I know how big the world is, Minka. But you step in there with me tonight, you'll find the world starts getting real, real small when I'm pissed off with you."
** A.J. Morales, also talking to Minka Carter: "If you turn this into a war...Ms. Carter, you damn well brace yourself. Because when the Revolution takes up arms, kings and queens get guillotines."
* BattleCouple: Emery Layton and A.J. Morales developed this dynamic over time. Apart from being a tag team outside XWA, they frequently fought side-by-side against the Survivors, including as two-thirds of Team XWA in the trios match at Legends 2017 for control of the company, and they were the only two champions to defend their respective titles at XWA and the City of the Island Hills a few months later.
* BestServedCold: Richard J Maxwell's 2013 return was completely and utterly fueled by this.
* BewareTheSillyOnes:
** Tempest can be funny and happy-go-lucky, but push enough of his button and he will absolutely destroy you on any given night.
** Emery Layton will make as many jokes as she can and doesn't know how to be quiet most of the time, but catch her on a bad night and you're in trouble.
** Jace Albright is a friendly, good-natured rookie and a total goofball, but he's spent 2019 racking up wins over reigning champions and top stars.
* BelligerentSexualTension: While never outright pointed out, this could be argued for Layton & Fenric. Hinted at by Richard J Maxwell (with his "who needs Tinder?" line during an episode of Massacre) and jokingly by others in the past, it has gone unaddressed by both Emery and Adam so far, making the continuous insults possibly a deliberate response. The tension ended once Emery started dating A.J. Morales.
* BigBadDuumvirate: Whisper's War are basically a group of top heels assembled from other feds, making them far more than just some mindless Mooks lead by Whisper.
* BigDamnHeroes: A.J. Morales pulls this, or at least tries to, on a regular basis for his friends. In fact, when he missed his chance to do this after the Survivors attacked Emery Layton and Laurel Anne Hardy, he freaked out, and it took the combined efforts of Austin Carter and both members of Hyphy Machinery to stop him from trying to jump all the Survivors at once with a steel chair.
* BigGood: Amy Taylor became this in 2017, assembling various newer talents into a stable capable of taking on the Survivors.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Emery Layton is easily one of the most eccentric wrestlers in XWA, but within six months of her debut at Legends 2016, she became a champion in multiple promotions at the same time, and at Legends 2017, she became the first person ever to cash in mid-Supreme Championship match and win the title.
* CameraAbuse: A.J. Morales will generally mess with any camera he gets close to, but in one instance, he performed a diving hurricanrana to the outside that flung his opponent directly into a camera, breaking it and knocking the cameraman out.
* CanonWelding:
** If stars have won titles or done something of note in other existing e-wrestling sites, it is usually mentioned, making those places part of the same universe as the XWA.
** Also tends to happen when guest characters pop in for Lord of the Ring.
** In one instance, A.J. Morales had a backstage interview conducted by a character played outside XWA by the same handler.
* CardCarryingVillain:
** Lx-Tim is a total scumbag, and he knows it. After winning the Supreme XWA Championship at If You Want Blood, he lapped up boos and chants of "WE ALL HATE YOU!" like there was no tomorrow.
** Once Kaida Kagome's ties to the yakuza became public knowledge, she embraced it, boasting of her power and bringing other members of the clan around as her bodyguards.
* CareerEndingInjury: A re-occurring method to write out characters.
* CasinoEpisode: Kryptops and A.J. Morales's battle over the Hardcore Championship, which took place on the casino floor of the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
* Catchphrase:
** "It's not Sad...to be Mad!" for Chris Novak
** "Just Run." for Diamond Jack Sabbath
** "I'm Better. Than. You." for Danger Liam
** "You can't stop Perfection, and you can't stop Me!" for JR Judy.
** "Do you hear it?" for Whisper.
** "I gave you fair warning." for Angelus
** "We are the Legion, and we are many." for the Legion.
* CharacterTics:
** EBR's frequent use of "word" has become a well-known tic.
** Diamond Jack Sabbath refers to people as 'mate' when he's being confrontational. And repeats himself. And "exhales" when getting annoyed.
** It is not unlike Whisper to occasionally tilt his head before destroying his opponent.
** As a manager, Jeffrey Grey often would nod approvingly and pinch the lapels of his suit after doing something that was self-benefiting. When he got angry, he would suddenly start speaking and acting like a ghetto stereotype, despite being from a fairly middle-class background.
** Early Adam Fenric would often rub his hands together uncomfortably and look around nervously if he was in a situation he wasn't quite ready for. Post-Fenrics-breakup, he's much colder and more stoic now.
** Emery Layton really wants you to know what she means. Know what I mean? Know what I'm saying?
* ChaseScene: What the Hardcore Championship at City of the Island Hills turned into. Basically, the Lynx exploited the 24/7 rule and jumped A.J. Morales during an interview to win the title. But A.J. was dead set on making sure the live crowd wouldn't be watching the whole thing on a screen, so with an assist from Hyphy Machinery, A.J. stole the belt and baited the Lynx into chasing[=/=]fighting him all the way out to ringside.
* TheChewToy:
** Cortez Columbus, who had a reputation of horrible things happening to him during his matches even before his XWA debut, which ended with Raine throwing him off the deck of a boat and into the depths of the Pacific Ocean. Of course, Columbus is also an egomaniac and psychotic racist, so nobody really minded all the abuse he inevitably took. This eventually reached its logical conclusion when he was unceremoniously killed off via a news update saying he had attempted to launch a rocket to the Moon because he thought he was supposed to wrestle there.
** Lil Rainbow Washington has also settled into this role. He's an obnoxious former [=SoundCloud=] rapper who turned to wrestling with no training after he got laughed out of the scene, only to literally have his teeth knocked out every single time he wrestles.
* CrapsackWorld: It is very rare that the XWA it's self isn't being tormented, threatened, having wars, being host to conspiracies and generally being rather unsafe. People have been seen to walk into the XWA completely fine and then leave unhinged and a lot worse than they were.
* Cult:
%%** The Legion.
** The clue's in the name with Trace Demon's "Cult of Tomorrow".
** The Kvlt of Azazel has made it's name known as of late becoming the newest in a long line of these.
** Kryptops claims to be the face of a global demonic occult.
* ContinuityNod:
** When Whisper and Ace Andrews revealed Whisper's War, the first person they attacked as a cohesive unit was Diamond Jack Sabbath, the leader of the long-gone Legion. Due to the similarities of the groups, this made for a nice nod to declare from the get-go that this new group was much worse.
** Dan Bennett, Satine X and Hutton Brown have been opposed to Rated X since their returns. All three men were members of the previous incarnation of Rated X some years prior. Dan rejoined the group a few weeks later, sighting the fact DGX and Alex Sean were his mentors as his reason for joining back up. Since his 2018 run as a returning legend began, Dan has continued to wear Rated X shirts and colors to the ring, but as an homage to the group rather than an attempt to revive them once again.
** The supergroup known as The Survivors are basically an entire group full of continuity nods. Even their name is one, alluding to the fact that each member was present for either the Faction War, Whisper's War or the Civil War.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After losing to A.J. Morales at Legends 2018, and getting him to help prevent her evil side from performing a SplitPersonalityTakeover, Minka Carter went on to form a tag team with A.J.--though, admittedly, it was more of Bella Quinn putting them together than either wrestler's decision--and together, they quickly won the XWA World Tag Team titles.
* DinerBrawl: A.J. Morales has had two of these as Hardcore Championship title defenses. The first, a surprise Hardcore 24/7 defense, happened in an Italian restaurant against Jake Rogers, while the second was a Starbucks Street Fight against Annie Zellor, held as part of an episode of Massacre.
* DragonInChief: Whisper is this for Richard J Maxwell. As long as he sticks around and does Maxwell's bidding, he and his plan can't be touched and he knows this.
* DynamicEntry: After Hyphy Machinery put Kryptops through a blackjack table, A.J. Morales made his challenge for the Hardcore Championship known by riding into the casino on a motorcycle and jumping off it to tackle Kryptops back to the ground again.
* TheEmpire: The XWA turned into this after Rated X took control in early 2011.
* EveryYearTheyFizzleOut: Blake Archer, for all his impressive accolades, can't ever seem to finish the job when he gets a shot at the Supreme XWA Championship. In fact, he was the only person to challenge for it twice in 2018, with the first one in January, his XWA debut, ending in a loss, and the second in October ending in a win by count-out, meaning Lx-Tim retained.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Minka Carter started off as an innocent blonde-haired rookie, but once she turned heel, she dyed it darker. The latter look ended up sticking even after she turned face again.
* FakeDefector: Danger Liam joined the Legion as a double-agent for the XWA during the original Faction War.
* FightingYourFriend: Downplayed. Emery Layton and A.J. Morales had to deal with this for a bit when A.J. became #1 contender to Emery's Supreme Championship, and they both showed hesitation at the idea of having to fight each other. But when A.J. finally got his shot, it was in a 4-way elimination match, and they ended up fighting Lx-Tim and Joey Miles more than they fought each other.
* FinishingEachOthersSentences: Hyphy Machinery do a Migos-esque version of this during promos.
* Foreshadowing:
** It is a common occurance to see this in Diamond Jack Sabbath promos, so much so that the arrival of Whisper was foreshadowed nearly two years prior to it even happening.
** Rated X's return at Legends 2013 was foreshadowed by their inductions into the Hall of Fame for that year, having been absent for half of 2011 and the entirety of 2012.
** Adam Fenric's arrival was foreshadowed when he was first named by the Three-Headed Dragon as a party that they rejected to be a member of the Survivors, mostly due to his ideas.
** A.J. Morales repeatedly referencing his “squad” and Hyphy Machinery referencing getting paid to customize a Lamborghini, both of which were scattered throughout 2017, culminated in Morales’s Film/2016-themed entrance atop a purple Lamborghini at Legends that year.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Jericho Shaw became the World Heavyweight Champion at Legends, the biggest show of the year but only after being an awkward young upstart in a mask called "Jack Jackson Jr.". He became the top heel in the company only one year after his debut.
* GenreRoulette: With the abundance of different characters and gimmicks, the XWA can go from funny to terrifying to epic from segment to segment.
* GentlemanAdventurer: Professor Rupert Von Hammerstrap's entire thing is that he's a gentleman adventurer who looks and sounds like he belongs in an entirely different century.
* GoodIsNotNice:
** Despite reforming slightly in recent times, Trace Demon is still most definitely not an easy person to become friends with.
** Angelus' brief Heel Face Turn exhibited this. He was still as grouchy and nasty as he was as a heel, just this time it was directed towards a different party.
** Adam Fenric, in spite of fighting for the right side as of 2017, is still very rude and condescending, if not slightly more since his HeelFaceTurn.
* HairTriggerTemper: It takes an incredibly minimal amount of effort to annoy Angelus.
* HearingVoices: Blake Archer has multiple hallucinatory voices in his head, who he often argues with in his segments as they try to steer him towards one course of action or another.
* HeroKiller: Jericho Shaw during his main event World Heavyweight Championship run was the best example of this, running through mainstays such as Dan Bennett and Drake Dysfunction and becoming more powerful with every win.
* HurricaneKick: Basically what A.J. Morales's Diamond Killer finisher, formerly known as Kliq Kliq Boom, amounts to. It's even been represented with a GIF of the move in one of his appearances in another e-fed.

* IHaveManyNames: Played for laughs with Emery Layton. While 'The Worst of the Pavees' and 'The Lethal Lackeen' remain her usual go-to nicknames, the frankly absurd growing list of names she continues to attribute to herself (and have attributed to her by others) makes this trope valid. Highlights include 'the Big Cheese', 'the Bee's Knees' and 'Booty Strong Style'.
* IdenticalStranger: Two characters can use the same person as a picbase at once, provided they pick different eras or looks. This might get lampshaded for comedy, depending on who's handling them.
* InsufferableGenius:
** Adam Fenric, even as a babyface, is right about a great many things but he'll never pass up the opportunity to let you know about it when he's proven correct.
** Smith Jones, as a heel, often falls into this trope. He's an absolute technical wizard, but he's also incredibly smug about it and often accuses his opponents of being unwilling or unable to learn how to properly wrestle.
* IronicEcho: At the first Massacre of 2017, Diamond Jack Sabbath kicked Amy Taylor in the head and told her "Stay out of my house." At Legends at the end of that year, Taylor gave that line right back to him as security forcibly dragged him out of XWA forever.
* JadedWashout: Rose in the run-up to his 2012-13 run and feud with Trace Demon. Following his departure from the company, he'd been working independent shows for smaller companies and putting his body on the line for very little money, always somewhat bitter he wasn't doing it in the XWA instead.
* JekyllAndHyde: Danny Diamond is a rich and refined man with honor and respect. Mirage on the other hand...
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Implied with Adam Fenric. His constant pushy attitude towards Emery Layton and insistence on her learning to plan for matches better could be interpreted as a response to his father paralysing himself due to lack of planning for his opponent...he's just not very good at putting it across.
* LargeHam:
** The angrier and more intense Diamond Jack Sabbath is, the louder he's likely to shout.
** Hector Alonzo Perez can be this quite a lot when announcing something.
** Minka Carter, after her heel turn and adoption of the "Cleopatra of XWA" gimmick, went full-tilt into this.
%%* LeaningOnTheFourthWall:
%%** Almost every promo, match or work in general from thefan was an example of this.
%%** Derrick Jedi has been known to toy with this concept in his promos, sometimes even in his direction.
%%** Sean Young also loves this trope.
* LittleMissBadass: Amy Taylor. She's generally mellow and understanding, but if you tick her off...
* LoopholeAbuse: Kryptops, faced with a four-way title defense of the Hardcore Championship at Fool's Gold, exploited the title's 24/7 rule by removing himself from the match before it began, waiting for the other three combatants to beat each other down, then re-inserting himself into the match and scoring a pinfall to retain it.
* LovableRogue: Emery Layton, while being a popular character, has been shown to lie, break into other people's locker rooms and frequently resorts to thievery like it's absolutely nothing. Although its worth mentioning she has so far only done this to terrible people who deserved it.
* MadLibsCatchphrase: For A.J. Morales, "Brace yourself," followed by some statement about the Revolution. When A.J. cuts a promo in the ring, he typically starts it with "What's good, [location]?"
* MaleGaze: Not one woman in the XWA appears to be unattractive. Not a single one of them.
* MeaningfulName: Whisper was named as such because he is not extensively boastful and only speaks when he has something important to say. To expand on that, he believes words are the most dangerous weapon and if used quietly, without knowing or hard to understand if not properly listened to (like a whisper) they can "win wars".
* MotiveDecay: Richard J Maxwell started out with the intention of getting the XWA some lovely high ratings. By the end of it, he just wanted his reputation to stay in-tact and money to be placed firmly in his pocket.
* MrFanservice: A.J. Morales has been known to refer to himself as a sexy luchador, and he's not wrong.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Laurel Anne Hardy is the Final Boss of the XWA for a reason.
* NewEraSpeech: The Legion would give one of these every chance they got.
* NoodleIncident: Emery Layton's match with a wrestler in Mexico called "El Spooko Grande", who wrestled with a sheet over him, is mentioned once but never brought up again on-screen, but due to the events of whatever occurred in the match, Emery regards him (or her) as her 'first arch-nemesis'.
* OddCouple: Emery Layton is an Irish traveller who doesn't take herself, or anything, too seriously. Adam Fenric is an Austrian doctor who takes everything seriously. Naturally, when they got put together in a tag team, they became this.
%%* OmnicidalManiac: Whisper.
* OpportunisticBastard: Joey Miles to a tee. His wrestling style is built around counters and exploiting mistakes, and he shamelessly kisses up to other heels with more power than him so they won't kick his ass.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: You can put Blake Jones in there with Angelus, Whisper or any huge guy and he will absolutely make damn sure he leaves the winner. There is no one too big to lose to Blake Jones.
* Pirate: When XWA spent a month on a cruise ship as part of the 2017 world tour, Emery Layton went all in, carrying a sword to the ring and dressing like a pirate the entire month. A.J. Morales also took on the gimmick, though he didn't go quite so all-in with it.
* PopCulturalOsmosisFailure: Emery Layton had never seen the Franchise/StarWars Original Trilogy until A.J. Morales showed it to her. Even then, between them watching Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack and Film/ReturnOfTheJedi, she told him she couldn't wait for "sword fella to run off with the princess."
* PoliceBrutality:
** From Legends 2017 to about mid-2018, Smith Jones was rarely seen without his two personal riot cops, Goldstein and O'Brien, who were more than willing to use this to help him stay the Television Champion.
** Before that, shortly after A.J. Morales's Hardcore Championship victory over Kryptops, a squad of Las Vegas riot cops swarmed the area of the fight and attacked everyone in sight, including the cameramen. This developed into a RunningGag where, any time A.J. had a 24/7 rules match in a place where it wasn't specifically scheduled ahead of time, he and his opponent would get arrested in a similar fashion.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Cortez Columbus was a Castillan supremacist who thought of all other Latinos as peasants and once called the A.J. Morales a "mongrel" for being mixed-race.
* PsychoSupporter: Sarah Lacklan, Angelica Vaughn's close friend, is foul-mouthed, cynical, and willing to run interference behind Angelica's back in order to keep the Television Championship around Angie's waist. Of course, because Angie doesn't see it happening, she's inevitably left confused when this leads to the crowd booing Angelica's victories instead of cheering.

* TheRockstar: A.J. Morales, in his backstory, broke into wrestling as one-third of a team of these, and his look and persona as a singles competitor in XWA are based on that time.
* RoyalWe: Whisper uses this all the time, referring to himself and Whisper's War at the same time. It has been implied he does this as he feels he owes his existence and notability to Maxwell, and so he includes him in every action he takes to reassert Maxwell's hold over him.
* SanitySlippage: Since the appointment of Trace Demon as new owner and losing every match since his return so far, Diamond Jack Sabbath seems to be going through one of these at the moment. Completed at Legends 2016 when Diamond Jack Sabbath turned his back on the XWA and joined the Survivors, defying everything he has ever said about the XWA.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Trace Demon's response to losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Alex Sean and the growing need for some sort of hero in the XWA in latter 2013.
* SelfImposedChallenge: In 2012, Chris Novak decreed if he did not win a title in the next year then he would leave the XWA. Come Legends '13, his destiny was fulfilled.
* SequelHook: When Levi Hallows was taken out, it was noted that his bodyguard Gideon Leicester was nowhere to be seen.
* ShoutOut: In his original run, it was never stated where Richard J Maxwell was actually from by his creator, Tempest. When he returned and DJS took over as the writer for the character and was picking a place for him to come from, he chose Detroit in homage to Tempest, who comes from Michigan.
* ShowWithinAShow: During his first run, Derrick Jedi would run down the matches of upcoming Pay Per Views in his irreverent manner, usually accompanied by Dan Bennett.
* SignificantAnagram: Danger Liam wrestled for almost an entire year under a mask. His name? Gain Dermal.
* StuffBlowingUp: The entire Great Inventions Hardcore Invitational, held at XWA's China Anniversary, revolved pretty much entirely around this.
* ThatManIsDead: Ask Danny Diamond what he thinks of his former persona, Mirage, and this is pretty much the answer you'll get.
* TheSilentBob: Rey Del Presagio, a masked luchador who never talks and prefers to communicate by sneak-attack. Ultimately explained when it turned out Presagio was Mark Storey's alter-ego, and that he presumably stayed silent so he wouldn't give himself away.
* TheStarscream: There were subtle implications of this from Jack Hazard in the Legion, especially before his departure
* TheOnlyOneITrust: Amy Taylor has always been this for Diamond Jack Sabbath, being the only character to never really move away from or betray Jack. But even that came to an end when DJS kicked her in the head.
* TakeThat:
** Legendary, the writer for Derrick Jedi, apparently loves to do this.
** There are two e-wrestling boards with the name "XWA" (the other using the word 'Association' as opposed to 'Alliance' for that ending 'A'). Once Ace Andrews departed due to several personal reasons, the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance tweeted several minutes after his walking out that he could now be seen "every week exclusively on Massacre!".
%%* TalkativeLoon: Dwight Lights after his Face Heel Turn.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Layton & Fenric had to do this all throughout the Tag Team Classic. It was a miracle at times that they didn't break up.
* TeethFlying: If Lil Rainbow Washington gets in the ring, he will get some of his teeth knocked out.
* ThrillerOnTheExpress: A.J. Morales vs. Will Neilson for the Hardcore title, which took place over the course of a UsefulNotes/BayAreaRapidTransit ride from Oakland to San Francisco.
* TournamentArc:
** A reoccurring one would be the XWA's "Lord of the Ring". Interestingly, every winner has ended up going off to be the a major catalyst in storylines following the tournament.
** 2017 brought us the Tag Team Classic, which culminated in a three-way tag team TLC match for the titles.
* TragicHero: Dan Bennett's final run in 2018. He returned as a beloved veteran, and he proved he could certainly still hang with the main-eventers of the company, but his obsession with the Supreme XWA Championship over everything else turned him to a bitter heel until, at Legends, DGX had to come off the shelf and bait Dan into putting his career on the line for Dan to finally realize he'd gone astray.
* UnderdogsNeverLose: Albion Gale's first pro wrestling match--not just in XWA, but anywhere--was in the 2018 Lord of the Ring, against then-Tag Team Champion Mark Storey. She lost that, but after a double-no-show elsewhere in the bracket let her back in with a second chance, she proceeded to win her way through the rest of the tournament, even beating Storey in their rematch in the semifinals, and ultimately claim the Ring.
* VillainDecay: Suffered by Whisper following his losses in early 2014. Previously seen as a world-destroyer, Whisper was relegated to more of an enforcer role later on down the line.
* VillainsNeverLie: Even with all the dastardly things they do, every member of Rated X seem to have very logical reasons for everything they do, which are usually quite hard to argue with.
* VillainousBreakdown: Diamond Jack Sabbath goes through a pretty huge one at Legends 2011. As the Legion finally stand defiant against him, he goes on a tirade declaring they are his property and AGodAmI calling himself their God. As the night progresses, he goes more and more off the deep end. As part of the Survivors in 2017, Sabbath essentially became a walking, living version of this trope. This was especially obvious at District XWA from his response to the ReasonYouSuckSpeech A.J. Morales gave him, but it came to a head at Legends, where, after being pinned, and thereby forced to leave the company, he refused to accept it, began throwing a tantrum, and had to be dragged away from ringside kicking and screaming.
* WeUsedToBeFriends:
** As with other wrestling promotions, this is a common theme for tag team breakups, as recently illustrated by Austin Carter and Trevor Miller, formerly partners in GRVITY 2.0.
** Emery Layton's rivalries with Serena Maxwell and Aki Yasuko revolve solely around this trope.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Layton & Fenric to a tee. They bicker, they argue, they seem completely incapable of not insulting one other, but they still stay as a team.
* WrestlingDoesntPay: Downplayed with Hyphy Machinery. Their gimmick comes from the fact that they run an auto shop in Oakland on top of being wrestlers, but they started the business when they were in high school and make about equal amounts of money from both jobs.
* TheWonka: Hector Alonzo Perez may run the show, be the big leader of the company and the board...but he can sometimes be a very strange person.
%%* WorldTour: The big twist for 2017.
* WouldHitAGirl: By necessity, any male wrestler booked in an intergender match. But Diamond Jack Sabbath is perfectly willing to do so to his own ex-wife.
* Yakuza: Kaida Kagome heads up an entire clan of them, and she's not above using her henchmen to her advantage. Aki Yasuko also turned out to be a member, as Emery Layton learned the hard way, while Joey Miles became an associate mostly so Kaida wouldn't chop his balls off.
* Yandere: "Unexplainable" Serena Maxwell became this for Diamond Jack Sabbath during her 2018 run in IYH (and by extension XWA due to their shared canon) after the former was forced out of XWA and disappeared from wrestling as a whole. When he was gone, Serena went from Jack's PsychoSupporter to a full on nightmarish psychopath.
