Welcome. Delicious Roleplayer.

[[http://deliciousfriends.tumblr.com Delicious Friends]] is a roleplaying group centralized on Website/{{Tumblr}} based around [[Videogame/FallenLondon Fallen London]] as a setting. Characters all have their own accounts on Fallen London, and some roleplay takes place in the actual game via social actions, such as [[SpidersAreScary sending boxed cats.]]

!! A SMALL SAMPLE of VARIOUS MISDEMEANORS and OTHER THINGS OF NOTE, ET AL. :
* AbusiveParents: Worryingly common in the characters' backstories. Roland is confirmed to have had an abusive alcoholic mother; Alexis is frequently hinted to have had abusive parents, and Shewa has also had some hints in this direction.
* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: Sort of. Four characters re-appear as non-player characters in Creator/FailbetterGames's ''VideoGame/SunlessSea''.[[note]]The RP characters have a range of differences from their SS counterparts, but the breakdown is as follows: Casey/Irrepressible Cannoneer, Brite/Merciless Modiste, Thurlow/Alarming Scholar, and Alexis/Voracious Diplomat.[[/note]]
* AmbiguousGender: Roughly half the cast, [[NotHyperbole and I mean that literally]].
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler:Jane's arm gets messed up during [[http://theincendiaryhunter.tumblr.com/post/58481691555/the-following-is-an-rp-log-in-this-jeremiah a fight]] with Jeremiah and has to be removed.]]
* AntiHero: Most of the cast.
* BlackmailIsSuchAnUglyWord: [[http://pertinaciousgentleman.tumblr.com/post/57147863830/he-didnt-stick-around-for-the-smoke-of-his-gun-to But accurate.]]
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Thurlow [[http://cameoappearance.tumblr.com/post/42834235843/i-gave-up-on-seeking-the-name-because-it-wasnt demonstrates]] this on occasion.
* CallBack: When Harpelynn attempts to reach out to Casey after [[spoiler:their first kill in the Black Ribbon Society]], they respond back [[http://caseybanning.tumblr.com/post/41184713928/first-note-reads-if-you-need-anything-feel with a sarcastic note]]. Months later, [[http://caseybanning.tumblr.com/post/49088493676/destringed-caseybanning-destringed-whats this]] happens.
* ColdBloodedTorture: [[spoiler:Virgil does this to Alexis in order to find out where they keep their cache of souls. [[http://theincendiaryhunter.tumblr.com/tagged/Torture-tw/chrono The entire RP thread]] is under text cuts because of graphic content.]]
* CoveredWithScars: Most obvious with Rolias Watt, though this trope applies to several other characters as well. It happens when you fight a lot of people and/or monsters. Or throw yourself down a well full of broken glass repeatedly.
* CurbStompBattle: Harpelynn [[http://pertinaciousgentleman.tumblr.com/post/58996819220/the-orphanage-pt-ii messes Vincent up]] pretty spectacularly.
* {{Cthulhumanoid}}: Thoth and Mr Brite, the rubbery spouses of Chaucer and Miss Brite.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Also quite a few of the characters.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: Roland using the laws of The Bazaar to undo the affair of the box in [[http://theambitiousoperative.tumblr.com/post/53892011848/he-walks-the-twisting-streets-of-the-bazaar-past this post.]] He wasn't exactly civil to a force that can move cities the size of London into strange other worlds.
* DistractedByTheSexy: Considering this is often a result of failing a few challenges in-game, being distracted by the sexy has happened to several characters.
* DysfunctionJunction: Everyone has ''some'' kind of trauma; the only question is whether they acquired it on the Surface or after coming to London. Except for [[TheNondescript Jones]]. Probably.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Vincent, who is by no stretch of the imagination a good person, is still absolutely creeped out by Jeremiah. And with good reason, too.
* FreudianTrio: "Pseudonym" Jones, Dr Thurlow, and Miss Brite form a loose one, being the Superego, Ego, and Id respectively. (Thurlow is more 'mash-up of Superego and Id' than particularly conciliatory, admittedly.) The three of them originate from a smaller Fallen London RP group named Malariahawk that got absorbed into the larger Delicious Friends group.
* GenderBlenderName: Most of the Individuals of Mysterious and Indistinct Gender have one.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan:
** [[http://cameoappearance.tumblr.com/post/40173851320/this-is-from-an-rp-log-which-we-did-about-a-week STOUT SLAP]] (unfortunately, it transpires that you can't just slap [[ThingsManWasNotMeantToKnow the Name]] out of someone.)
** [[http://caseybanning.tumblr.com/tagged/Pull-Yourself-Together/chrono This]] happened between Alexis and Casey.
* GetOut: Played completely straight [[http://caseybanning.tumblr.com/post/56128938995/some-mild-violence-ahead-several-nights-after here]].
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: Everyone who Seeks Mr. Eaten's Name.
* GreyAndGrayMorality: Not surprising, for the Neath.
* GroinAttack: A very brutal and very [[AssholeVictim deserved]] one of these was committed on Vincent by Roland's henchmen after he said some rather inexcusable things to Casey.
* IHaveNoSon: For a significant period of time, Jane refused to believe that her daughter, Elizabeth, had actually come to the 'Neath. Not one of her finer moments.
* ImAHumanitarian: Carissa, Jones' wife. Jones is disconcertingly OK with it.
* InterspeciesRomance: Chaucer/Thoth and the Brites, as previously mentioned.
* JournalRoleplay:
** The structure of the RP is a sort of hybrid of this and a PlayByPostGame.
** There's a Dreamwidth roleplaying community with the same name, but despite several of the Tumblr Delicious Friends characters having journals and being members, there's been little-to-no activity over there.
* LastNameBasis: Thurlow and Jones are the main examples of this trope. (Mind you, "Jones" is probably not Jones's ''actual'' last name.) Alexis calls Casey "Banning" most of the time, [[spoiler:as did Jeremiah]].
* LikeASonToMe: Several members of the cast built [[{{Snowlems}} nomen]] in the winter of 1892, and at least two of them -- Eva's noman Nadia and Roland's noman Adam Kadmon -- had this type of relationship.
* MadwomanInTheAttic: Jane spent between five to ten years of her adult life locked in her family's attic on the Surface, and was seen as this by surface society.
* MaidenAunt: Several of the characters have one with a taste for wild and extravagant parties, reflecting the in-game Inconvenienced by your Aunt storyline.
* MetafictionalDevice: This tends to follow in Thurlow's wake when they're insane, or suffering SanitySlippage.
* MyBelovedSmother: Roland's mother fit this trope, with suggested ParentalIncest for added squick. Further details are on the Characters page.
* NoIndoorVoice: [[http://theobstreperousassassin.tumblr.com/ The Obstreperous Assassin]], a side character better known as the REALLY LOUD ASSASSIN.
* NonIndicativeName: "Boxed cats" are more often sorrow-spiders, which both the senders and the receivers know, but the name sticks because most of the time in-game the boxed creatures sent around the city in Pass the Cat are referred to as cats until proven otherwise.
* OneSteveLimit: Awkwardly averted with Alexis Tucker, who shares a first name with Alexis Kennedy, head game developer for Fallen London. This is purely an [[InAndOutOfCharacter out-of-character]] concern, since the latter isn't an in-universe presence, but it leads to a bit of FullNameBasis or referring to Alexis Kennedy as "Alexis the tiger" because of his Twitter avatar.
* OrphanageOfFear: The matron of the Our Lady of Eternal Mercy orphanage was [[http://pertinaciousgentleman.tumblr.com/post/63263799398/august-1891-it-had-taken-harpelynn-a-while-to selling the orphans' souls to Hell.]]
* PaintingTheMedium: This tends to follow in Thurlow's wake when they're insane, or suffering SanitySlippage.
* ParentalAbandonment: An alarming amount of them have some form of it.
* ParentalSubstitute: Harpelynn and Rachis fill this role for Alexis, and Casey and Roland fill it for Teresa.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: [[AssholeVictim Vincent]] crosses one too many lines, and [[spoiler:gets jumped by three men wielding iron bars, is beaten, and has his clothes stolen. On top of that? Cited for public indecency.]] And then [[FromBadToWorse the Porcelain Lady takes an interest in him]]...
* ScarsAreForever: Quite a few of the characters are covered in scars. The Seekers of the Name especially, since that comes with the territory.
* TheReveal: After eight months of buildup, [[spoiler:[[http://pertinaciousgentleman.tumblr.com/post/79937915168/pyrophobia-cw-as-her-landau-rattled-through-the the Porcelain Lady was revealed to be Jones.]]]]
* TheSchlubPubSeductionDeduction: A mild version during Odessa's first encounter with Vincent in the Singing Mandrake.
* WhiteMaskOfDoom: [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast The Porcelain Lady]] [[http://pertinaciousgentleman.tumblr.com/post/56324631994/the-address-enclosed-with-the-concerned wears one.]]
