!!This episode provides examples of:
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking:
-->'''Mordecai:''' ''(looking through Death's fridge)'' Okay. Soul juice, goat's feet, aaaww... almond milk?!
* ArsonMurderAndLifesaving: Death was mad at Mordecai and Rigby for having their furnitures broken, fires spreading all over the place, and his favorite harp ruined and on fire. But when he sees that Thomas is asleep and his wife happy about it, he declares Mordecai and Rigby the best babysitter they ever had.
* BabysittingEpisode: Mordecai and Rigby has to babysit Death's son, Thomas, in order to save Muscle Man's soul.
* BabyTalk: Thomas does this only when his parents are around to keep up the charade that he's still young.
* BadlyBatteredBabysitter: Mordecai and Rigby, as a result of having to babysit ''Death's son''.
* DisappointedInYou: Death’s wife says that if she finds out Mordecai and Rigby’s babysitting job with Thomas goes wrong, she will be disappointed in them. ALL of them. By “all” she means the two AND Death, for hiring them in the first place.
* HaHaHaNo: Death gives this response when he tells them that Muscle Man is going to die in a hot dog eating contest (even though that did come true later on the episode "Last Meal").
* InsultBackfire: When Mordecai and Rigby continuously fail to control Tomas and put him to sleep, a frustrated Muscle Man says they couldn't put a kid to sleep to save their lives. Rigby fires back that it's a good thing that ''Muscle Man's'' life is on the line then.
* {{Jerkass}}: Thomas messes with Mordecai and Rigby throughout their babysitting of him. He attempted to feed Muscle Man's soul to the worm just to be satisfied with the story.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Thomas gloats that Mordecai and Rigby are too late to put him to sleep when Death and his wife are about to arrive but a glass chandelier drops on him which knocks him out cold.
* {{Montage}}: There's one where Mordecai and Rigby are playing with Thomas and they see how dangerous he can be.
* OhCrap: Mordecai's and Rigby's reactions to Muscle Man's water slide accident and a glass chandelier dropping on Thomas.
* ParentalObliviousness: Death and his wife has no idea that Thomas can talk and his true age. They don't even question why he was under a chandelier when it dropped on him.
* PsychopathicManChild: Despite Thomas's age, he very much acts like an infant only with a penchant for unleashing death and destruction.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Thomas is 300 years old.
* SoProudOfYou: At the end, Death gets to impress his wife with a successful anniversary night, and Death compliments Mordecai and Rigby for being able to get Thomas to go to sleep calling them the best babysitters he's hired.
* TemptingFate: When Mordecai and Rigby thinks it's going to be easy taking care of Thomas.
* TomeOfEldritchLore: The book, ''The Hungry Hungry Soul Sucking Deathworm''.
