1	After a girl ends up trapped in an anomaly leading to a scorpion filled Earth, Cutter and Stephen are forced to follow. But they soon find that they are not alone.

3	* AbortedArc: Possibly. When she's returned home, Taylor asks Cutter if she can work for them when she finishes school, to which Cutter says yes. This doesn't go anywhere.
4	* ArtisticLicensePaleontology: While there ''were'' eurypterids that got to the size of the ones in this episode, eurypterids were primarily aquatic, so finding them in a desert without a nearby water source is unlikely. Additionally, having a tail that can accurately do a worm impression and still be held stiff would be almost impossible, due to gravity.
5	* BaitAndSwitch: After escaping the Silurian through another anomaly, Cutter, Stephen and the girl stumble upon a campsite with Stone Age tools and weapons left lying. Cutter insists they need to move on, only for a Cro-Magnon to emerge from the forest and advance on them. Cutter floors the caveman with a single punch, only to see he's not wearing period clothing.

9	* DumpedViaTextMessage: Connor, feeling that his relationship with Caroline isn't working out, decides to dump her, and he intends to do it by text. {{Lampshaded}} when Abby calls Connor out that dumping someone this way is horrible (bear in mind, Abby is no fan of Caroline), and although Connor holds off at the time, ultimately he goes through with it.
10	* EnemyCivilWar: Cutter, Stephen, and the girl they are rescuing manage to escape one of the scorpions when another attacks it, as ''that'' scorpion wanted the heroes all to itself.
11	* EveryoneHasStandards: Despite hating Caroline with a passion, Abby still thinks Connor breaking up with her by text is cruel.

13	** One of Leek's mercenaries is clearly taken aback when the Cleaner refuses to help a little girl trapped in the desert.

19	* MorePredatorsThanPrey: The desert seems to be ''solely'' inhabited by the giant scorpions, which are never far away when the humans' vibrations on the sand draw them in, and by flocks of smaller giant millipedes roaming the sand which are much more sparsely-sighted. Bear in mind, the size difference between the scorpions and the millipedes (which are believed to be the scorpions' normal prey) is ''massive''.
20	* SummonBiggerFish: At one point, Cutter has the Cleaner at gun point, but he has the girl as a hostage. So what does he do? ''Shoot the ground.'' This attracts a scorpion, which promptly attacks the cleaner.
21	** SaveTheVillain: Cutter immediately tries to save the cleaner ([[PragmaticHero if only to find out who he's working for]]), but ultimately fails to do so.
