1	It's the day of the Angel Grove Martial Arts Expo at the Youth Center and Jason is getting ready for his sparring karate battle. He notes his opponent is no slouch. Tommy Oliver, the new kid in town: tall, dark and handsome, clad in green and black, he shows off several flashy spinning roundhouse kicks. Kimberly is immediately smitten, and she isn't the only one; Rita is sufficiently impressed to target him for her Evil Green Ranger project, [[EvilCounterpart a plan to counter the Power Rangers with one of their own kind]]. The fight starts and Jason and Tommy are well matched. Both score points and gain the upper hand at different times, but it ends in a split tie. Shaking hands, they congratulate each other and Trini agrees with Kim that Tommy is gorgeous. They look forward to meeting him at school.

3	The following day, Bulk and Skull once again ineptly hit on Kim, but Tommy intervenes to point out she said no. They prepare to "teach him a lesson", but he shuts them up with a shadow display of his lightning fast punches and kicks and they run off. Thanking him and introducing herself, Kim offers him to come hang out with the gang, he agrees and she is head over heels with him. Rita casts a spell and enchants the sixth Power Coin with her dark magic. She sends the Putties after Tommy as another physical test; he easily defends himself in a city alleyway. Forcibly teleporting him to her palace, she entombs him and unleashes the spell upon him. It's clear she has him brainwashed, and she gives him her mission orders: to invade the Command Center, to disable it and Zordon and to attack the five other Power Rangers. In doing so, she tells him their civilian identities. She then bestows upon him the Dragon Coin and the powerful Dragon Shield armor plating.

5	Zordon and Alpha prepare for temporary hibernation, but are rudely interrupted by the appearance of Tommy. As a Ranger with an authentic Power Coin, only he can offer Rita the opportunity to infiltrate the Command Center among her agents. He hacks Alpha with a disc containing a virus before ripping his power recharge cable out, and taunts Zordon. He tries to reason with Tommy, but the Green Ranger rips out the computer control panels and wiring, wrecking headquarters and disrupting Zordon's ability to project his presence into the tube and thus our dimension. A gleeful Rita grows Goldar to let him rampage as her next move. The male Rangers are cleaning the Radbug and are joined by the girls. Kimberly is disappointed that Tommy has seemingly stood her up, but then Alpha hails them with a garbled and glitchy voice. Concerned, they realize their communicators won't transmit and the teleportation grid is also offline. Boarding the Radbug, they speed off to the Command Center.

7	Shocked at the state of it and at Zordon's absence, they eject the virus disc from Alpha's body and restore his functions. But he can't tell them what happened as the virus disrupted his memory chips and he's none the wiser. They surmise that someone broke in and did this... but who? They're alerted to Goldar's attack and prepare to confront him; teleportation is back online and Alpha begins the search for Zordon's presence. They fight the Putties as Goldar leers over them and Tommy observes from afar. Goldar slashes apart a mountain and they are forced to summon the Megazord. After a violent confrontation ("Prepare to feel the wrath of Rita Repulsa!"), Goldar disappears and Tommy reveals his presence. Leaping all the way up into the Megazord's cockpit, he attacks the Rangers, damages the controls and throws them to the ground.

9	He then proceeds to effortlessly take on the five of them in hand-to-hand, defeating them with ease before being directly challenged by Jason. He beats the Red Ranger, and unleashes an energy wave attack against all five for the victory. Alpha can't yet locate Zordon, and the Rangers teleport back to headquarters in defeat. They tell Alpha about the mysterious Green Ranger, but none of them can identify who he might be. Alpha exhibits residual effects from the virus and shuts down temporarily. Jason guesses that they've only had a taste of their nemesis's power, and that the real battle is still to come. Most worryingly, they have to operate without Zordon to back them up, until he can be restored. Finally, the Viewing Globe shows the Green Ranger's promise to destroy them one and all, and his laughter punctuates the ToBeContinued card...
