1	A cop killer has broken out of prison with the intent to get revenge on the man who put him behind bars, Sergeant Buck Frobisher, an old friend of Fraser's dad. Frobisher flees to Chicago and Fraser tries to convince him to stop running and help catch his pursuer instead.

6	* CallBack: They visit the same bar that got shot up in the pilot movie. Ray wants the Mounties to stay out this time, and Fraser is understandably cautious, but Buck boldly marches right in. As soon as any trouble starts, the bartender [[ThisIsGonnaSuck immediately starts cowering behind the bar.]]
7	* DeadlyDistantFinale: At the end of the episode, they seek out a number of the villain's old accomplices, including one or two of Buck's former enemies. As it turns out, one of them is in a retirement home, and another is in a grave. Buck finds the realization rather sobering.
8	* {{Determinator}}: Geiger and the Mounties alike. Buck got stabbed in the leg saving Geiger from falling to his death when he first caught him, and Fraser insists on chasing after Geiger even after he gets a leg wound of his own. Somewhat {{deconstructed}} for the sake of comedy, as Ray is quick to {{lampshade}} the absurdity of two limping Mounties chasing after a hardened criminal.
