With Neron now in full control of Ray, the Legends hunt him and a kidnapped John Constantine down to the infamous Donner Pass in the Ice Age.

----
!!Tropes:

* AchievementsInIgnorance: Downplayed; Sara decides that, if the crew is going to die in the avalanche, they'd be better off dying warm, so she has Gideon crank the heat while the others chill out in the galley. As it turns out, this winds up melting the ice just enough so that the Waverider can break free.
* AdaptationalNameChange: In the comics, Constantine's kingly ancestor is named Kon-stan-tyn; the show simplifies to the more conventional Konstantyn.
* AnArmAndALeg: John cuts off his ancestor's hand.
* BatmanGambit: Neron takes Constantine to the middle of the Ice Age and tricks him into using his magic, knowing that if he uses it the Legends will use it to track him down, and also knowing they will order the Waveriders cannons to fire on him. He teleports just in time, trapping the Legends in an avalanche.
* BlackComedy: When the Legends seem doomed to slowly freeze to death beneath Donner Pass, Charlie asks who they'll be eating first, remarking "shotgun, not".
* BodyHorror: Gary's nipple turning into a hypnotic eyeball. Ava, Nora and Mona are all rightfully freaked out.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Gary does this to all the members of the Time Bureau.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: John has met the mysterious Tabitha before and banished her before but he doesn't remember since he's banished so many demons and creatures. Turns it she's the Fairy Godmother of all people.
* CallBack:
** Sara and Mick remember the day Rip recruited them all.
** The Legends' impromptu and near-fatal Star Wars homage back in season 2 comes up during the card game.
** Gary's nipple is eaten again. The main difference is that this time, he had it coming.
* DidntThinkThisThrough:
** Gary really should've concealed his ego. Letting every agent, including Ava, OOCIsSeriousBusiness repeat that "Gary Green is all the man we need" was bound to draw suspicion.
** John just walking up to his ancestor, telling him that they are related and that he should help him fight a demon, without thinking of the possibility that Konstantyn, a FantasticRacism zealot, might think that he is a magical creature out to deceive him.
* DraggedOffToHell: In John's case, it's voluntarily to save Ray.
* DwindlingParty: Mick sadly laments that with Ray taken over by Neron, he and Sara are all that's left of the original Legends lineup.
* EurekaMoment: After her brainwashing is broken, Ava puts together pretty much everything surrounding Gary's allegiance to Neron with astonishing speed.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: The others all rather quickly pick up on the fact that Nate and Zari are sleeping together. Nate then stops pretending and admits it, much to the relief and cheer of everybody.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Even John with his contempt of most magical creatures recognizes that Pucas are harmless and should be left alone.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Neron and Tabitha are both very evil, but they clearly love each other.
* EvilHasABadSenseOfHumor: Neron could have stranded the Legends anywhere in the Ice Age. Choosing the Donner Pass is almost certainly his idea of a joke.
* EvilIsCool: InUniverse, Gary now that he's working for Neron.
* EvilIsPetty: A newly villainous Gary brainwashes the Time Bureau to aid Neron's plans, but he goes the extra mile of making them praise him as well, which sets off alarm bells for Mona and Nora.
* EyesDoNotBelongThere: Gary's restored nipple turns into an eye that lets him brainwash people.
* FantasticRacism: King Konstantyn has a burning hatred for every magical creature, harmless or not.
* FriendshipMoment: The team playing Ray's card game.
* Hell: Finally appears in the final moments of the episode, looking like a rundown city under a burning sky.
* HeroicSacrifice: John is more than ready to sacrifice himself to save his team. At the end of the episode, he even willingly goes to Hell to rescue Ray, as he doesn't want any more people on his conscience.
* HijackedByGanon: Tabitha turns out to be the Fairy Godmother.
* IAmNotMyFather: Or rather, John makes it clear that he is not like King Konstantyn.
* IdenticalGrandson: Constantine's fanatical ancestor King Konstantyn looks just like he does, only with longer hair.
* IdiotBall:
** Nora really shouldn't have gone off alone to investigate Gary, since he was clearly doing something to make the other agents praise him.
** While killing him clearly wasn't an option, Constantine still probably should have done something to knock out or disable Neron before jumping into hell.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Mick's criticism that Sara tends to get caught up in her own thing, then blame the team when things go wrong, is not without merit. Sara is the Captain of the ship and leader of the team; they're her responsibility.
* KnightOfCerebus: Trope; for all the dread surrounding her arrival, Tabitha turns out to be the Fairy Godmother, and her return brings some comedy back into a dark and horror-infused episode.
* KnightTemplar: King Konstantyn is utterly convinced of the righteousness of his cruel deeds, defending them even after John cuts off his hand.
* LampshadeHanging: Sara and Mick point out that they (and Ray) are the only original Legends left.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Neron is amused by the fact that John is about to be sent to Hell, as he banished many creatures there.
* LickedByTheDog: The Puca heals John's head wound, apparently sensing that he is not so bad.
* LimitedWardrobe: Snart apparently had dozens of identical parkas on the ship.
* LuredIntoATrap: Neron teleports himself and John out of the way when the Waverider fires at them, causing the ship to be buried by an avalanche.
* MercyKill: How Mick justifies ordering the Waveriders cannons to fire on Neron -- Ray's gone, so it's best to take Neron out as fast as possible.
* TheMole: Gary acts as Neron's in the Time Bureau, brainwashing agents for him.
* NeverTellMeTheOdds: Said word-for-word by Sara after Gideon warns the team of starting the ship with the low power supply left.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Mick just recklessly ordering the ship to fire is what traps them under a wall of snow.
* NotAfraidToDie: Neron tries to scare John on what awaits him in Hell. John is unfazed since he's already made peace with it since his soul's been damned for some time. But what does scare him is having to face those he couldn't save like Ray or Astra.
* OhCrap:
** Gary, when Mona transforms.
** The Legends, when they realize that Tabitha is the Fairy Godmother.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Charlie, of all people, has to act as the voice of reason to get Sara and Mick to apologize to each other.
* ParentalSubstitute: Nate and Zari are eager to have the dragon baby inside the golden egg. Nate even gives it a name, Wickstable, named after a drawing he made in his childhood.
* Pun: Constantine has the perfect response to diving into Hell and seeing it resemble nothing so much as downtown L.A.
-->Constantine: Bloody hell.
* PutTheirHeadsTogether: Wolfie knocks Ava and Nora's skulls together. It snaps them out of the hypnosis.
* ARareSentence: Ava describes how Gary was brainwashing the Time Bureau as having "nip-notized" everyone. And she uses this terminology twice.
* TheReveal: Tabitha is none other than the Fairy Godmother. And she and Neron are a couple!
* ShoutOut:
** A Franchise/StarWars reference from all the way back in season 2 comes up as the Legends play Ray's card game, and the franchise gets two more references by the episode's end: Constantine duels an evil forefather in a fight that ends with a severed hand, while Gideon remarks that odds of escaping from the ice are 3720 to 1, with Sara responding in true Han Solo fashion.
** The title is one to Series/NipTuck.
* SlashedThroat: Neron does this to himself in Ray's body to screw with Constantine, who instinctively heals him.
* SlasherSmile: Neron gets some frankly terrifying ones during his swordfight with Constantine.
* SmugSnake: Gary's newfound confidence lasts only as long as he's in control; as soon as Mona wolfs out, he's reduced to cringing in terror and screaming for help.
* SoProudOfYou: Ava towards Nora.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Wolfie is the main reason why Gary's attempt at brainwashing the entire Time Bureau falls apart.
* TakeAThirdOption: John sends himself to Hell so he can find and save Ray.
* TapOnTheHead: Wolfie frees Nora and Ava from Gary's control by smacking their heads against each other.
* ThirdLineSomeWaiting: There are 3 separate plots. The first is about Neron trying to get Constantine to help him free Tabitha, the second one is about Mona trying to foil Gary's takeover of the Time Bureau and the third one is about the rest of the team trying to escape from being trapped under an avalanche.
* TookALevelInBadass: Played with; Gary certainly acts a lot more confident, and his nip-notizing ability makes him more of a threat, managing to brainwash Ava, Nora and the rest of the Time Bureau. However, he's still not as clever as he thinks he is; his change in demeanor and insistence that the brainwashed agents praise him set off warning bells for Mona, he failed to come up with a back-up plan in case there was anyone whom he couldn't brainwash, and once he loses that advantage, he's totally helpless in the face of a very angry Wolfie, Ava and Nora. All in all, Gary's FaceHeelTurn might have made him more sinister, but it didn't really make him any more competent.
* VastBureaucracy: Nora has to fill out a shit ton of forms before she can start the job.
* VillainHasAPoint: Neron pointedly asks Constantine if everyone in hell truly deserves to be there. While Sadist Neron himself and Tabitha certainly do, he's not wrong that neither Ray nor Astra deserve the place (although his point is undermined by the fact that Neron is the reason that Ray's in hell to begin with).
* WhatTheHellHero: Sara calls Mick and Charlie for being absent from the Waverider when Neron took control of Ray. Mick turns it on her by pointing out she was also absent from the ship -- in fact she makes frequent shore leaves so why is it wrong that he and Charlie did the same? He also points out how Sara always finds a way to blame everybody else on the team when things so south but never herself. They both eventually apologize to one another.
* WizardDuel: Between John and Neron. John wins, but relents from killing Neron, instead going to Hell to save Ray.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: The Puca delivers a non-verbal version of this to Constantine: as he laments about what a "bloody bastard" he is, she heals him, reflecting his inner goodness and cluing John in to the fact that he's not as bad as he thinks.
* YouAreNotAlone: Wolfie scratches this message into a nearby wall to reassure Mona.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: The Legends' (entirely understandable) response to finding out that Tabitha is the Fairy Godmother.
