As the ''Destiny'' crew prepares to dial Earth from within a star, they are surprised to receive a communication from Dr. Rush and the ''Destiny''. Temporal weirdness abounds.

!Tropes
* AccidentalMurder - Colonel Telford confronts Future!Rush about how the Future!''Destiny'' was really destroyed, believing that Future!Rush somehow sabotaged the Nine Chevron Gate Travel just like [[Recap/StargateUniverseS1E7Earth what happened last time]] Telford attempted the Destiny Expedition to return home. After being pressed too much into trying to confess that Future!Rush did sabotage the attempt, Future!Rush shoved Colonel Telford against the wall in anger; only to realize that Telford was pushed against the damaged weapon relay both Rushes were trying to remove, electrocuting Colonel Telford to death.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Rodney [=McKay=] is mentioned (for the very first time in the franchise since the conclusion of ''Stargate Atlantis'') 3 episodes in advance of his crossover appearance in "Seizure".
* HelpYourselfInTheFuture - The expedition are able to salvage equipment and supplies from the future version of ''Destiny'' to replenish their own resources before the other ship is destroyed.
* ICannotSelfTerminate - After accidentally killing Colonel Telford, Future!Rush heads for the Chair Room planning on interfacing with the accumulated knowledge of the Future!''Destiny'' before it is lost forever; knowing full-well that the ship is about to be destroyed by the star, and that if he returns to the Present!''Destiny'', nobody would believe him that Telfords' death was an accident. Present!Rush finds him as Future!Rush asks him to activate the console for him since the chair requires external activation.
* IChooseToStay – Rush did not want to abandon the ship, and asked for volunteers to stay and help him complete the mission. He got them, too.
* LegendaryInTheSequel: Given the Stargate Program's been running for 14 years at this point, it's no surprise that Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, and even Rodney [=McKay=] are considered SGC legends and brainiacs.
* MyFutureSelfAndMe – Rush doesn't even get along with himself
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone - Both Eli Wallace and Future!Rush experience this, Eli when he sees the resulting destruction and apparent death of the people aboard the Future!''Destiny'' from the Observation Deck, and Future!Rush when he accidentally electrocutes Present!Telford to death aboard the Future!''Destiny'' after the Colonel kept pushing his buttons on sabotaging the Expeditions way off the ship like last time.
* NoodleIncident: James had an encounter with Rodney [=McKay=] at some point before Icarus. Rodney did ''not'' [[MyEyesAreUpHere make a good impression]] with the disgusted Lieutenant.
* OtherMeAnnoysMe – more accurately, Present!Rush annoys Future!Rush
* OutrunTheFireball - Dr. Rush having to run towards the Stargate on the Future!''Destiny'' before its shields fail and it plunges stern-first into the star is a very '''literal''' example of this trope in-action.
* PortalCut - Scott holds open the Future!''Destiny's'' Stargate by sticking his left arm into the event horizon to prevent the Stargate from deactivating to allow himself and Present!Rush to get off of Future!''Destiny'' and back to their original ''Destiny''.
* RaceAgainstTheClock - The Destiny Expedition plan to use the Stargate on the Present!''Destiny'' to get replacement parts, weapons, food, medical supplies from the Future!''Destiny'' before it sinks into the star. Arriving aboard the other ''Destiny'' Both versions of Rush calculate that the Future!''Destiny's'' shields will fail in about 40 minutes.
