While Sonic and Captain Dread's crew were on the way to obtain the blue Paradox Shard, they find that Rusty Rose had also made it into the No Place alongside her Badnik army. Thus leading to both crews being set to have a clash on the seas and a race to the Paradox Shard.

!!Tropes:
* Bookends: With the end of the episode, the season premiere and finale both ended on Shadow suddenly attacking Sonic.
* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: The Council holds Nine prisoner and forces him to utilize the Shatter Drive so they can pursue Sonic and eventually conquer the Shatterverse. Nine also manages to convince the Council that they need Sonic alive, as his power to generate Prism energy makes him essential to their plans.
* CellphonesAreUseless: Rusty and the Chaos Council have difficulty calling each other through other dimensions. It's honestly a miracle they can get a signal at all, since they just discovered they can travel to other dimensions.
* ChekhovsGun: The cannons on Angel's Voyage ship prove ineffective against the one Rusty Rose commands. While the Sea Dogs they cooked aren't much better, they otherwise prove helpful to make her and the Badniks lose their footing thanks to their condiments.
* Cliffhanger: The episode, and the season itself, ends with Shadow attacking Sonic in the VoidBetweenTheWorlds, enraged by the consequences of Sonic's actions.
* DefiantCaptive: Nine, from the moment he's brought aboard the Chaos Council's mothership in handcuffs.
* EdibleAmmunition: When Angel's Voyage takes on Rusty Rose's ship, the former starts firing sea dogs at the latter. This causes the robots to slip up and be unable to fight back, because they can't lock onto and shoot at the incoming sea dogs.
* GASP: Black Rose lets one out upon seeing Rusty Rose through her spyglass (see NeverTheSelvesShallMeet below).
* Hoist By Her Own Petard: Sails incapacitates Rusty Rose with a ShockStick he took from one of her own Eggforcers.
* MistakenForAnImposter: Sonic has apparently become so used to meeting alternate versions of people that he immediately dismisses Shadow as a stranger. Unfortunately for Sonic, Shadow turns out to be the real deal, who then proceeds to once again hand Sonic his ass.
* NeverTheSelvesShallMeet: Implied. Both Rusty Rose and Black Rose see each other during the former's attack. While Black is reasonably confused but otherwise unaffected, Rusty briefly malfunctions upon seeing an alternate counterpart of herself for the first time.
* NoYou: When Dr. Done-It calls him a weasel, Nine retorts "If you wanna see a weasel, just look in the mirror!"
* NotWorthKilling: After a brief glitch from seeing her counterpart, Rusty Rose orders the Egg-forcers to sail for the Paradox Shard, justifying herself by stating that the Angel's Voyage is already sinking so its crew will drown anyway.
* OhCrap: Sonic gets one in the penultimate shot as he braces for a sucker-punch from Shadow.
* PoorCommunicationKills: A villainous example. The Chaos Council agree to spare Sonic in order to harness his Prism energy, but the difficulty of communicating between dimensions means they can't get a message through to Rusty Rose, who continues attempting to kill rather than capture Sonic for the rest of the episode.
* RockBeatsLaser: Downplayed. The technological gap between the Chaos Council and the Angel's Voyage crew is smaller than in most cases of this trope, but still significant. Regardless, between Determinator Sonic's determination, Dread's leadership, and Catfish's EdibleAmmunition idea, the pirates are able to defeat the invaders and capture Rusty Rose.
* SlipperySkid: Since conventional cannonballs are useless against the Eggforcers, the crew of the Angel's Voyage starts shooting sea dogs at them, the condiments creating a mess on the enemy deck that causes everyone to fall over.
* SoleSurvivor: The episode's ending reveals that Sonic has apparently destroyed the original universe and that he and Shadow are all that're left of it.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Twice.
** Black Rose being witnessed by Rusty Rose causes the latter to malfunction and decide to leave the crew be, instead of destroying them.
** Later on, Catfish accidentally drops a sea dog into a cannon while loading it, causing it to fire and make the enemy robots slip up. The rest of the crew promptly adopts this strategy to great effect.
* SuddenlyShouting: Shadow's WhamLine at the end.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: A non-lethal example, but when the crew of the Angel's Voyage capture Rusty Rose, Sails suggests tying her up for good measure...when she's already in handcuffs.
* WhamLine: Shadow confronts Sonic at the end of the episode, and in response to Sonic saying that he doesn't have time to deal with him and just wants to go home, he has this to say, revealing just how badly Sonic screwed up:
-->Shadow: Home? "Home" doesn't exist anymore, BECAUSE OF YOU!
* YouExclamation: Rusty Rose and Black Rose say this in unison when they see each other for the second time.
