It's only because of Patrick's big appetite and [=SpongeBob=]'s naivete that they agree to help him. Even then, [=SpongeBob=] presumably would've made the fresh patties himself, meaning they're eating the fruits of his labor already, and as he notes at the end of the episode, he can easily make him and Patrick more food himself.
42	* DopeSlap: [=SpongeBob=] nails Patrick with one after the latter gets distracted by the idea of Bubble Bass' free lunch one too many times.
