!!Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Amity Blight debuts before the events of ''The Owl House'' can begin.
* AlternateSelf: The Farmer family is strongly implied (and later confirmed) to be a witch version of the Plantar family.
* AsideGlance: Luz and Anne make several of these during each TakeThat moment listed down below.
* BatmanGambit: Vincent tells Odalys he wouldn't care less if she tortured Amity for his acting out since he hates her parents for trying to take his wife's farm to destroy so they can put up a new factory. The gambit fails because Odalys calls his bluff, and he's left guilt-ridden over Amity being severely electrocuted and crying afterward.
* BrokenTears: Marcy breaks down crying after Amity accuses her of helping Andrias, which led to her capture.
* CallBack:
** Lilly uses the invisibility potions from "Friend in the Night Market" to hide within the castle and interact with Amity without getting caught by frobots.
** Anne remembers Luz talking about her dad to Marcy after the latter's DarkSecret was revealed, admitting that she kinda forgot about it.
* CommonalityConnection: Marcy and Amity start to bond once they discover they're both ''Good Witch Azura'' fans.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Alister and Odalys are shown working for Andrias and experimenting on the captured witches from the Boiling Isles.
* DueToTheDead: The Boonchuys and the Plantars join the Nocedas at Manny's grave to say a few words to him.
* GivenNameReveal: The other two captured witches are named Vincent and Alyssa Farmer.
* HateSink: Alister and Odalys torture the adult witches by injecting syringes into their bile sacs and draining them dry so they can't use their magic, threaten to torture Amity should they step out of line, and laugh at the witchling after forcing her to eat bugs, the only rations they supply. Like Odalia, Odalys sinks lower by electrocuting Amity for several seconds when Vincent's BatmanGambit fails and continues even after he submits, having to be forced by Alister to stop.
* HeroicBSOD: Marcy had already been stuck in one after betraying her friends and while comatose. Her fragile emotional state worsens when Amity forces her to confess that she's responsible for her suffering among everything else Andrias has done, and she breaks down crying which causes Amity to regret her words.
* InstantExpert: Like Marcy, Amity quickly masters the entire ruleset of flipwart after being forced to memorize the rules in a few days. As such, she defeats Alister in their match.
* {{Irony}}: Amity finds herself being tortured by the counterparts of her parents, and befriending the counterpart of Willow.
* ItIsDehumanizing: Odalys refers to the witches as subjects.
* ItsAllMyFault: After Amity blames her for her kidnapping, Marcy breaks down into tears when she realizes her actions has led to her friends' predicament and ruined others' lives by helping Andrias, admitting that she caused all of this herself.
* KickTheDog: Even after Vincent begged her to stop her torment to Amity, Odalys continued doing it with a twisted smile.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: The kids on Earth find a fanfiction between Cynthia Coven and Azura which ships the lead characters and was written by ''[=ChampionElCid=]''. Luz then questions who Hecate would end up with as her relationship with Azura was a big factor in her CharacterDevelopment and Anne says she'll just be paired with someone else; this is a nod to [[PointOfDivergence Amity no longer being able to fall for Luz because she's dating Anne]] and getting some ShipTease with Marcy.
* PetTheDog: Because he sees Amity's similarities to Amara, Alister shows concern when Odalys tortures her and forces his wife to stop.
* PointOfDivergence: This chapter reveals that the main point of divergence (POD) is that the Nocedas ended up not moving at the last second as Manny didn't want to uproot his family's lives just for him and make things hard on them.
* PsychoticSmirk: Odalys bears one every time she tortures the witches. It's most highlighted while she's shocking Amity after Vincent tells her to do it.
* TheReveal:
** Andrias hired Odalys and Alister to examine the witches while keeping them imprisoned.
** Two of the captured witches are Raine and Amity.
** Lilly has been hiding in the vent system of the palace and using the invisibility potions to do recon.
** Andrias intends to upload Amity into the Core since she's intelligent and can use magic.
* SequelHook: Lilly is trying to find a way to free Amity and Marcy from their imprisonment while Raine comes up with a plan to free themself, Vincent and Alyssa by keeping their violin concealed until they have an opening.
* ShipTease: Several signs hint at Marcy and Amity from their love of Azura to Amity comforting Marcy about what she's done, most notably after making her have a breakdown.
* ShoutOut:
** The title of this chapter is a nod to the song, [[WesternAnimation/{{Tarzan}} "Two Worlds, One Family"]].
** The fan artist that Luz, Anne, the Plantar siblings, and Amara find online is named [[Creator/{{Moringmark}} "Evening Evan"]].
* SinsOfOurFathers: Vincent tries to [[InvokedTrope invoke this trope]] by telling Odalys to hurt Amity as the Blights tried to force his father-in-law to sell his farm to them. Amity is obviously hurt by this comment. However, when Odalys goes through it, Vincent doesn't have any satisfaction at all and begs her to stop.
* TakeThat:
** Amara stumbling across artwork of Azura in revealing clothing much to Luz and Anne's dismay. Luz then goes on to criticise those who make [[Rule34 lewd artwork of media aimed at children]].
** Luz rants about low effort videos gaining hundreds of thousands to millions of views compared to higher effort content not gaining as much attention.
** Anne and Luz getting annoyed at people who steal others comics to create comic dubs who often don't credit the original authors and artists.
** Luz, Anne, Sprig and Amara stumble across a Cynthia's Coven fanfiction titled [[Fanfic/LoyaltyAmongWorlds "Loyalty Among Covens" by [=CaptainCT5=] a rewriting of Cynthia's coven starring [=CaptainCT5=]'s self insert being placed into the series and shipped with Cynthia.]] They do not like it at all, not only citing how the author just plasters his OCs onto the series, the poor quality of his screenshot edits and the fact that he's a college graduate despite his artwork being subpar, but also he's an individual in his late 20s who made a self insert and [[JailbaitTaboo shipped himself with Cynthia who is 13 years old]].
* VignetteEpisode: Nine stories are featured in this chapter.
