!!Tropes that appear in this Chapter:
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Angmar debuts between "Escaping Expulsion" and "Echoes of the Past", approximately two-three episodes before his canon debut.
* AndYourRewardIsEdible: The girls walk away from the Eclipse Escape Dungeon with chocolate as their prize.
* AnimateInanimateObject: The statues in the last room of the Escape dungeon are sentient, but they've been posing in their current states for so long only their faces can move. They only become animated again when Luz uses her animation glyphs on them.
* AnswerCut: Luz thinks about the one person who could help her with her potential psychological problems as the scene cuts to Ms. Traveler in her office.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: Luz gets surprised by the talking statues, despite having living objects at her house.
* BadGuyBar: Nicole spends the day at a tavern where she meets someone who hates the Clawthornes as much as she does, while Baron Samedi (whose allegiance is unclear) watches them.
* BerserkButton: After a bird demon bumps into Tom, he panics and attacks the demon before going on a rampage. With how publicized this is and the Emperor's Coven seeing him, Boscha scambles to get him off the streets and into hiding.
* BlatantLies: Luz finds the door out of the triangle room due to eating chips from the bowl hiding the knob that opens the door in the couch. Luz claims she knew that was there, but [[DeadpanSnarker Amelia and Cat]] both mentally say it was pure luck.
* BreakThemByTalking: "Calypso" tells Skara that Willow won't accept the truth about her condition, calling her a monster. Skara is quick to realize that it's not her mother she's talking to.
* BreatherEpisode: Definitely a break after the fakeout of the last chapter. At least, until the end...
* TheBusCameBack:
** After a mention in "Blindsided", Scabrina returns for the first time since she [[Recap/LuzClawthorneHexsidesNumberOneDelinquentWitchChapter31 debuted]].
** [[TheGhost Dog's]] given a mention since he first appeared in "[[Recap/LuzClawthorneHexsidesNumberOneDelinquentWitchChapter23 Doctor's Visits and Party Incidents]]".
* CallBack:
** Hunter's been having nightmares about what Belos and the Weird Sisters showed him in "To Serve".
** Amity returns to Cat's house for the first time since she was attacked at Dog's party. Luz also mentions how she took Amity to the human realm for their first date to help her forget what happened.
* TheCameo:
** Dr. Bride briefly appears patching up Luz's injury from the last chapter.
** [[{{WesternAnimation/Pinocchio}} Jiminy Cricket]] appears to hear Kitsuni's report on the Coachman.
** Edric and Hunter are shown on a date at the Bonesborough aquarium.
** [[WesternAnimation/ThePrincessAndTheFrog Dr. Facilier]] appears, his soul placed within a shrunken head.
** Gus and Mattholomule are shown meeting with Bria, Gavin and Angmar.
** Nicole is shown drinking at a tavern being observed by the Baron when some guy starts talking to her.
** King appears returning home from fly-fishing with Eda then makes himself scarce when Lilith brings up Gwendolyn calling Eda all the time.
** Belos is shown as Philip in the past having a conversation with Eclipsa, the Queen of Darkness.
* {{Cliffhanger}}: Skara is kidnapped by something impersonating her mother for some unknown reason.
* ConnectedAllAlong: As Philip, Belos was once acquainted with Eclipsa Butterfly. Luz learns of this but she isn't sure what to make of it since she doesn't know who Philip or Eclipsa are.
* ContinuityNod: The previous chapter's events are naturally still fresh in everyone's minds.
** Luz still has burn marks from the demon squirrel attack in "Family Group Therapy".
** Edric remembers when Puck scared him and Emira after the library incident and when the twins were captured by the slitherbeast.
** Yet again, Las Vegas gets brought up.
** Lilith figures out what Luz meant when she said that Gwendolyn doesn't acknowledge her.
** Cat finally gets her chance to cut and style Luz's hair: the latter's displeasure about people touching her hair is referenced.
** Amity brings up Amelia going to Grom with Gus.
* ConversationalTroping: Scabrina says that she's seen the PlayingSick trope be used on several cartoons.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Amelia and Cat get some time to shine due to being involved in the A-plot; the latter acquired the map to the Escape Temple from Dog and gets to show off her cosmetology skills while the former is given a chance to put her intellect to the test.
* DealWithTheDevil: Bill tries to offer a deal to Luz to help her decipher the memory she's experiencing in exchange for letting him in her mind. Naturally, she refuses not wanting him in her head for any other reason than to deliver messages.
* DrowningMySorrows: Nicole is shown drinking apple blood due to becoming a pariah while the Clawthornes are praised.
* EveryoneHasStandards: While the Baron plans on claiming guilty souls he's only going after adults, not kids.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: After being asked by Cat, Luz allows her to do her hair. Once Cat's finished, it's been changed to a flip-style bobcut with long bangs and orange streaks in the tips of her upper strands. And with help from Amelia, Amity gains lilac purple hair with brown strands.
* FailedASpotCheck: Gus doesn't pick up on how uncomfortable Mattholomule is calling Bria his friend.
* ForcedSleep: To keep the Emperor's Coven from arresting Tom, Boscha knocks the crowd surrounding him out with a sleeping potion.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Amelia shows interest in the Human Realm.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: An eyeball-spider crawls out of Luz's hair as she explains to Cat why she never cuts her hair.
* TheGhost: Emira, Odalia, Alador, Dog, Puck, and Willow's dads.
* GhostMemory: While asleep, Luz dreams of Philip (who she's representing) talking to Eclipsa on Mewni. Bill says she's reliving it but doesn't understand why.
* GirlsLoveChocolate: The prize the girls receive for completing the Eclipse Escape Dungeon are chocolate bars, which they accept.
* GivenNameReveal: The Baron is called Samedi.
* HowIsThatEvenPossible: The potion Scabrina gives Skara to help sell that she's sick lowers her body temperature and somehow sets her hair on fire.
* ImmediateSequel: The chapter occurs the day after the previous one's events, which transpired the previous night.
* ImportantHaircut: Luz's hair is changed from being wildly bushy like Eda's to shorter and restyled. As she notes, it's meant to symbolize her becoming her own witch rather than aspiring to be just like her mother.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Eda accidentally brings up how Lilith cursing her led to her mauling their father as the Owl Beast.
* InsistentTerminology: The statues don't take kindly to being called "marbleheads".
-->'''Toga-Man Statue:''' For your information, we prefer the term "enchanted figures".
* InSpiteOfANail:
** Amity still dyes her hair lilac.
** The Pines twins [[Recap/GravityFallsS2E3TheGolfWar still]] faced off against the Liliputtians at the mini-golf course.
* InternalReveal:
** Jiminy and Oberon are informed about how the Coachman was defeated.
** As Kitsuni saw the Baron, she informs Ms. Traveler and Jiminy about his presence in the Demon Realm.
** Emira told Amity about their parents making Abomitons for the Emperor's Coven, which she tells Luz.
** Amity explains her first date with Luz to Amelia along with some details about the Human Realm, the Clawthornes losing the portal and the Pines family.
** Luz learns about the Liliputtians and gets a hint to the Mewmans.
* InTheHood: Boscha wears a yellow hoodie during the chapter.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Before meeting up with Cat and Amelia, Luz states that she previously saw them as nothing more than background characters. She also notes having a crazy adventure each week (chapters for Book 2 have been getting a weekly release by this point.)
* LeaveTheTwoLovebirdsAlone: Watching Luz and Amity share a moment, Amelia and Cat excuse themselves from the room to give them some privacy.
* LuminescentBlush:
** Amelia gives one off when she realized she's gushing over how attractive she thinks Gus is now in front of Amity.
** Luz can't help having one when she sees Amity's new hairstyle for the first time.
* NoodleIncident:
** Cat tells everyone that Dog recommended the Eclipse Escape Dungeon to her after he and his friends went through it.
** Edric nearly got drowned by sea witches the last time his family visited the aquarium: he was given free admission for life so his parents wouldn't sue the place.
* OnceDoneNeverForgotten: Jiminy has never forgotten his only encounter with the Coachman.
* OneWordTitle: Meant to allude to the Eclipse ''Escape'' Temple.
* OutOfFocus: Eda and Lilith don't have much prominence while King only makes a cameo.
* PetTheDog: Amelia and Cat's parents apparently sent Luz and Amity gift baskets as continued thanks for their actions the previous night.
* PlayingSick: To get out of going anywhere so nobody will see the patch of fur on her neck, Skara stays home pretending to be sick. When Willow decides to come over to check on her, Skara gets a potion from Scabrina to sell it.
* PointOfDivergence: 3 events happen before they did in canon: Gus meets Bria, Gavin and Angmar when Mattholomule is forced to introduce him to them, Lilith learns about her mother visiting Eda annually, and Amity dyes her hair lilac but doesn't cut it, simply leaving it the same length and letting it down.
* PsychosomaticSuperpowerOutage: According to Dr. Bride, Luz's HealingFactor might not be working because her subconscious is mentally suppressing some of her cambion powers.
* RealAfterAll: With Jiminy's appearance and confirmation that he faced the Coachman, this means that Pinocchio existed in the past.
* TheReveal:
** Luz's healing powers are implied to not be working because she might be subconciously suppressing them.
** Jiminy Cricket is still alive and is now a messenger for the Order.
** Kitsuni saw the Baron claim the Coachman's soul, thus discovering he's on the Isles.
** Julia was once acquainted with the Baron (whose name is Samedi), who knew her by a name beginning with "S".
** Dr. Facilier's soul is trapped in a shrunken head that the Baron keeps with him.
** Baron Samedi came to the Boiling Isles to cast judgement on the souls of whomever he deems guilty.
** The only time Dell called Eda while she was on the run, she didn't answer and hid out on Earth.
** Amelia is impled to have developed a crush on Gus. She hasn't talked to him since they went to Grom together.
** The Fae are divided into two clans on Avalon.
** As Philip, Belos was once acquainted with Eclipsa Butterfly and both of them discussed the bigotry on both of their worlds.
* RoomEscapeGame: Luz and Amity spend the day with Amelia and Cat going through an entire temple of escape rooms in order to win a grand prize.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: King picks up on the awkwardness from Lilith finding out Gwen calls Eda often and goes outside. This is also what Eda did when her father called her once.
* SequelHook:
** Oberon begins his hunt on Luz and Amity in vengeance for killing the Coachman.
** Bill tells Luz that his offer to help her uncover Eclipsa and Philip's identities will still be open in the future.
* ShipTease: Amelia is shown to be attracted to Gus, getting flustered when talking about him going through witch puberty.
* ShoutOut:
** Luz notes that she and her friends have [[{{WesternAnimation/Amphibia}} one or two crazy adventures a week]]. This is the second chapter to make a reference to "[[Recap/AmphibiaS1E36CombatCamp Combat Camp]]", the first being "Friendship Dynamics".
** Oberon's appearance is confirmed to be a mix between the character of the same name from ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' and Jareth the Goblin King, BigBad from ''Film/{{Labyrinth}}''.
* SleepCute: The ending shows Luz and Amity sleeping together in Luz's bed.
* SmokeOut: Boscha's sleeping potion disperse as a light blue smoke, giving her the chance to escape with Tom by flying out using flight shoes.
* SpottingTheThread: Skara is able to tell the imposter isn't her mother since it doesn't smell like alcohol.
* TwinTelepathy: Non-twin variant. Twice, Amelia and Cat think the same thing; first when they note Luz solved a clue by sheer luck and then when they both think about how cute Luz and Amity can be.
* TheUnReveal: Given her reaction to seeing the Queen of Darkness' portrait in the Eclipse Escape Dungeon and seeing her in her dreams, it's implied that the past life the Baron told Luz she had the previous night could be Eclipsa Butterfly and that said dreams are Eclipsa's memories which she's showing Luz for some reason. But that still doesn't explain why Luz was in Philip Clawthorne's body while she watched the memory play out.
* UnseenNoMore: After being mentioned several times in the previous season, Lord Oberon finally makes his debut, as does the fae homeworld Avalon.
* WhamEpisode: Some stranger begins talking to Nicole about his past with Lilith, Gus meets Bria and her cronies, Boscha hides Tom in her attic, Luz and Amity both have {{Expository Hairstyle Change}}s, Skara gets kidnapped by something impersonating her mother and Luz begins to see memories of Philip/Belos interacting with Eclipsa Butterfly.
* WhamShot:
** Luz finds a portrait detailing a woman with raspberry red spade-shaped cheek marks in the last room of the dungeon.
** Willow passes Calypso as she exits Skara's room and after she's left, Calypso is shown to be in the living room with Slasher, revealing that something else is with Skara.
** Luz observes a memory where Eclipsa is talking to her...as ''Philip Clawthorne''.
