The seventh episode of the second season of ''WebAnimation/HelluvaBoss'', and as noted in the title the season's halfway mark.

When Fizzarolli decides to take part in Mammon's annual clown pageant, [[RunningGag things sure do happen]] - namely, a ''lot'' of trouble involving a LoonyFan, a not-so-friendly rival act, and especially the Sin of {{Greed}} himself.
----
!Tropes for this episode include:

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Arick first approaches Fizzarolli on a dimly lit street, coming on way too strong and ignoring all the obvious signs he's making Fizz uncomfortable (with Blitzo noting that he's apparently been hanging around Fizz's dressing room), then throws a tantrum when Fizz understandably cuts the conversation off and walks away. Years later he shows up to Mammon's clown pageant to go on a self-absorbed rant about Fizz "rejecting" him and even admits that he owns one of the [[SexBot Sex Bots]] Mammon made in Fizz' image but that it doesn't satisfy him.
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: As the episode closes with Blitzo asking Fizz and Asmodeus "Who tops?", Asmodeus is seen with an amused smirk on his face.
* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: At the end of "2 Minutes Notice", Fizzarolli calls out Mammon, loud, clear and directly by calling him a "'''s'''ad '''s'''ack of '''s'''hit."
* AlliterativeTitle: The episode's name has four words starting with "M" in a row. And if you separate "Midseason" into "Mid" and "Season", you still got two "S" in a row. With the parenthetical featuring two "Fs."
* AmbiguousSyntax: The hook to the Glam Twins' song "Klown Bitch" can either be heard as "I'm a klown, [[ThisIsForEmphasisBitch bitch]]!", or "I'm a klown bitch!", i.e. a bitch who happens to also be a clown. The captions mostly indicate the former, except for a background line in the credits continuation of the song.
* BaitTheDog: Mammon offers a few times to give a traumatized and massively overworked Fizz a break to "get his shit together". Unfortunately, he says this not because he actually sympathizes with Fizz, but because he wants his main attraction to be at full energy in order to keep exploiting him, something Fizz is quick to notice.
* BehemothBattle: Both Mammon and Asmodeus assume their gigantic forms during their verbal squabble at the episode's climax.
* BigDamnKiss: Fizz and Ozzie share a romantic kiss in Fizz's dressing room just before the final performance.
* BitchAlert: Glitz and Glam are introduced acting haughty while talking down and insulting Fizzaroli while he tries to be polite with them. Soon enough they start insulting ''each other'', showing they're such unpleasant bitches that they themselves can barely get along [[SuperiorTwinTeamwork despite being a talented twin team]]. Their bitchiness is even enough to make the usually aloof Blitzo take an interest in the competition.
-->'''Blitzo:''' Aw, man, I didn't give a rat's ass about this competition, but Christ on a stick, Fizz, '''piledrive those sluts'''.
* BlackmailBackfire: Mammon attempts to cow Ozzie into submission by threatening to expose his relationship with Fizzarolli. Ozzie throws it right back in his face by just loudly admitting his feelings on-stage in front of thousands of spectators, several of whom had [[OpenSecret already suspected as much anyway]].
* BoomHeadshot:
** FanHater Arick bursts in on Fizzaroli's private makeup room with a knife, clearly in [[{{Yandere}} an attempt to kill Fizz]], only to get his head blown off by Blitzo who was hidden in the room waiting for him to try something.
** A pit bull hellhound who grabs Fizz during his acrobatic routine and starts humping his legs mid-air gets their head blown up by Blitzo within seconds.
* BrickJoke: During Asmodeus's phone call, Blitzo goes off on a tangent about an argument he once had with Fizzarolli about how cool juggling is. Come the first half of the clown pageant and not only does the first verse of the song that plays state that juggling is "objectively cool", but the song itself is titled "Juggling Iz Cool".
* BrokenPedestal: In the flashback at the start of the episode, Blitzo quickly starts to lose his admiration for Mammon after paying all his savings for an overpriced commercial, and Fizz finally has enough with Mammon's abuse and realizes just how nasty he is in the present.
* BullyingADragon: Secondhand. Arick stalks, threatens, and attempts to murder Fizzarolli, who is little physical threat himself, but who is protected by the much more violent Blitzo, lover to one of the Seven Deadly Sins, and best moneymaker for another. When Arick kicks open the door to Fizzarolli's dressing room, Asmodeus is actually in the room with him. [[spoiler: And so is Blitzo]].
* TheBusCameBack: Wally Wackford makes a speaking cameo in the present day, and is also seen as a younger child in Mammon's concert, after having been absent for most of the season.
* ButThouMust: When Mammon calls, Fizzarolli's phone only gives him two options to respond.
-->''Pick up''\
''Pick up, ya cunt!''
* CallBack:
** Young Blitzo and Fizz in the flashback look just like they did in one of the photos Blitzo scrolls through at the end of "OZZIE'S", complete with the same outfits and Blitzo's braces.
** Within the same episode, Mammon in the flashback to Blitzo and Fizz as teenagers says that the winner of his pageant will get to be like "the son [he] never had", and that he'll be like "the stepdad that will love you when it's convenient". At the end of the episode after Fizzarolli quits, he says that he raised Fizz like "the son [he] didn't want", revealing his true colors.
* CanonCharacterAllAlong: The [[https://archive.is/5sZ2R/50faa53ffa75c4ac8f0f7b72e6acf4312f691c80.png imp child]] that Mammon [[https://archive.is/7yj4f/f7f7780a93082631f00ae8a7d9c1ba87734ab38f.png stretches]] is confirmed to be a young Wally Wackford as confirmed in [[https://archive.is/sg4uu a tweet]].
* CerebusCallback: In "[[Recap/HelluvaBossS1E7Ozzies Ozzie's]]", Fizz asking security to keep an especially enthusiastic fan who proclaimed that he owns four of Fizzarolli's {{Sex Bot}}s far away from him was PlayedForLaughs. Come this episode and it's revealed that Fizz is actually deeply uncomfortable with the fact Mammon is making sex toys in his image and that the many {{Abhorrent Admirer}}s he gets as a result creep him out. Ozzie is equally uncomfortable with creating sex toys with his own lover's face attached to it.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: Mammon happily jams along to "2 Minutes Notice", completely unaware that the song is directed at ''him''. Even after Asmodeus happily clues him in to that fact, it takes Fizz outright singing "Mammon you sad sack of shit" in the lyrics and stating that he's quitting show business for Mammon to get that the lyrics were both completely serious and meant as an actual insult to him personally. However, as if to finally spell it out for him, Fizz straight-up says "I quit" after his song before walking out.
* CountryMatters: Mammon, who has an Australian accent, throws these out quite a bit. Since Website/YouTube takes umbrage with the c-word, they're censored with honks. Though there's a "blink-and-miss-it" text example that slipped through.[[note]]When Mammon calls during "Two Minutes Notice" the options on Fizz's phone are "Pick Up" and "Pick Up Ya Cunt."[[/note]]
* CreatorCameo: In general, several personas of the crew can be found amongst the crowd in certain shots. To cite some:
** A number of the crew's persona can be seen amongst the crowd during Glitz and Glam's song as confirmed by [[https://archive.is/YUdGS some]] [[https://archive.is/GkprG tweets]].
** The imp who was kicked by Striker back in "[[Recap/HelluvaBossS1E5TheHarvestMoonFestival The Harvest Moon Festival]]" and confirmed to be the impsona of one of the show's crew makes another appearance during Fizz's resignation song in a scene that also has the [[https://archive.is/bz08g houndsona]] of another member of the crew. Another member's succubussona can also be found later on during this sequence as confirmed in [[https://archive.is/MAnvQ a tweet]].
** The tiny imp in the popcorn bucket seen with Wally Wackford is another impsona of the crew as confirmed in [[https://archive.is/8guxu a tweet]]. Later on, [[https://archive.is/Vqfmu another member's]] [[https://archive.is/liLT0/3a58dfc72a9e5ee9964ca4596ae0f1993d7e91c6.jpg houndsona]] and [[https://archive.is/m9y87 another member's succubusona]] can also be found [[https://archive.is/m9y87/63059a73e20d00502ed6af203837683354d081d9.jpg amongst the crowd]] who start texting after Ozzie reveals his actual relationship with Fizz.
* CreditsGag: The episode's opening scene is accompanied with some credits that slowly appear throughout it. After Mammon says "[[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain women just ain't funny]]", a credit immediately appears beside him saying "Written by Creator/VivienneMedrano" ([[DontExplainTheJoke who is a woman]]) before quickly vanishing.
* CuttingTheElectronicLeash: During Fizzaroli’s song Mammon’s call screen is shown on his phone giving him the options ‘pick up’ and [[ButThouMust ‘pick up, ya cunt!’]]. Fizz just tosses the phone behind him where the screen cracks against the stage.
* ADayInTheLimelight: The episode is focused entirely on Fizzaroli and his relationship with Mammon, his fans, and Asmodeus. The only character in the main cast who shows up is Blitzo, and he has a [[SupportingProtagonist supporting role]].
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu:
** LITERALLY Fizzaroli towards his soon-former employer, the ''Sin of Greed'' himself, in his song "2 Minutes Notice".
** Early on, Blitzo is quick to talk back at Mammon after the latter was starting to weight shame Fizzaroli right in front of him.
* DidntSeeThatComing: When Mammon threatens to reveal Ozzie and Fizz's relationship and then Ozzie does it himself, Mammon fully admits he didn't see the crowd being utterly supportive of it coming.
* {{Dissimile}}: When Fizzarolli explains to Asmodeus his obligations to Mammon, Oz says "Mammon can eat my ass!" before remembering he's the Sin of Lust and would presumably enjoy that, immediately following it up with "...in a bad way!"
* DrowningMySorrows: The start of the song "2 Minutes Notice" has Fizzaroli in a dark room attempting to take a swig, but discovers the bottle was already empty. This refers to the sheer abuse he went through at [[BadBoss Mammon]]'s hands, which left him extremely despondent, burnt-out, and hurting.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: When Ozzie reveals that he and Fizz are in love not one person in a large crowd of thousands is shocked at the news, in fact many can be heard excitedly going [[EveryoneKnewAlready "I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!"]]. Mammon is rather taken back at not just how not a secret it is but how supportive everyone is.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Absolutely nobody who knows Mammon likes him, with even ''Asmodeus, the King of Lust'' thinking his sex dolls of Fizz are a bit much.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: "Good" is a bit subjective in this case since Asmodeus is still a demon of Hell and one of the Seven Deadly Sins. However, he is still portrayed as a protagonist and has a moral high ground over Mammon, who is the main antagonist of the episode. Mammon tries to blackmail Asmodeus by threatening to reveal the secret that he and Fizz are dating, only to be surprised when Asmodeus outright declares to love Fizz in front of thousands of witnesses, and all of those witnesses reacting positively to the news by sharing their thoughts online while giving fangirl cries of "I knew it!" Mammon is left only able to say "Oh uh... shit." at losing his leverage.
* FeetFirstIntroduction: Glitz and Glam are introduced with a shot that starts on Glam's feet and pans up her body, only for her to turn around and reveal Glitz standing behind her, revealing they're a twin SiblingTeam.
* FlippingTheBird:
** Glitz and Glam flip off Flizz when telling him how they plan to win at the end of their first meeting.
** At the start of Fizz's "2 Minutes Notice" routine, when he declares he is "standing on top of the world, with some bitches to defeat" the spotlight moves to Glitz and Glam, who are watching from backstage. The two are momentarily stunned before flipping Fizz off for the insult and shutting the curtain.
** Fizz constantly gives the middle finger during his "2 Minutes Notice" routine, and when Mammon confronts him over quitting he gives Mammon two middle fingers as he mocks him and walks away.
* FreezeFrameBonus:
** When Mammon is discussing how [[SexBot you can fuck the Robo-Fizz bots]] in the advertisement near the start, the addendum "[[NeverNeedsSharpening Dishwasher Safe]]" appears in the lower right hand corner for a second. Additionally, the end of the advertisement has a small disclaimer which reads "[[AbusiveAdvertising No refunds--if you don't like it it's your fault]]".
** Among the merchandise found in Fizzarolli's dressing room is a body pillow.
** The sigils on the stage backdrop briefly switch from Mammon's to Asmodeus's during the torch-juggling portion of "2 Minutes Notice", before switching back afterwards. It also later flashes when Asmodeus assumes full demon form to confront Mammon over Fizzaroli quitting.
** Pausing when Fizz sings about taking Mammon's calls during "2 Minutes' Notice" reveals that the incoming call screen spells it as "in''cumming'' call", [[ButThouMust the two buttons say "Pick Up" and "Pick Up Ya Cunt"]], and Fizz's phone case has "Queen [[Memes/AceAttorney Clussy]]" printed on the back.
** During "2 Minutes' Notice", Asmodeus is seen for a brief second staring wistfully at Fizzarolli's performance before realizing he has a RagingStiffie and cloaking it behind the stage curtains.
** After Asmodeus confesses that he's in love with Fizzarolli to the crowd, the screens of the imp typing on three different phones show him excitedly posting in some sort of discord analogue, sharing the news on a clown forum and [[BreadEggsMilkSquick gloating that his shipping theory was correct to his ex who has recently broken up with him judging by the immediate prior messages]].
* FreudianSlip: During Mammon's speeches to the audience, he tries to pretend he's not a greedy bastard who only cares about exploiting people, but he often slips up and says exactly how he feels. Most of his fans don't seem to notice or care.
* GreenAndMean: Fittingly enough, Mammon, the king of the Greed Ring, is dressed in mostly green colors and is shown to be the biggest {{Jerkass}} of the sins we've seen so far.
* HairFlip: Glitz and Glam are often flipping their hair to illustrate their arrogant femininity.
* HateSink: Arick is a slimy, [[EntitledToHaveYou entitled]] creep who runs a Fizz hate site after the latter understandably was creeped out by him years ago, making it clear the audience isn't supposed to like him.
* HiddenDepths: Fizzaroli may not [[Recap/HelluvaBossS2E6Oops speak Italian]], but it turns out he’s fluent in sign language, as he holds a short conversation with Oliver, a deaf imp child, in signs.
* HighClassFan: At one point, Mammon is seen watching the clown pageant performance in his "web throne" while fanning himself with one of his extra arms.
* HostileShowTakeover: [[invoked]]Downplayed, but the title of the episode "MAMMON'S MAGNIFICENT MUSICAL MID-SEASON SPECIAL ([[BillingDisplacement ft. Fizzarolli]])" seems like it was written by Mammon himself rather than the show's creators. Also, the opening flashback cuts off Fizzarolli speaking to segway directly into one of Mammon's advertisements.
* {{Hypocrite}}: Blitzo directly calls Ozzie and Fizz this once he discovers that they are in a relationship, but took him and Stolas to task for their own SecretRelationship.
* IKnewIt: A InUniverse example. When Ozzie reveals he has an openly romantic relationship with Fizzaroli, [[OpenSecret the audience of the clown pageant isn't that surprised]], with a lot of them just yelling "I knew it" and posting their thoughts online for everyone else to see.
* IncendiaryExponent: Glitz and Glam do their juggling act while setting themselves on fire, which gets them points for style.
* InternalReveal: Ozzie and Fizzaroli's romance is made officially known to Blitzo and later all of Hell, though not like it was a well kept secret in the first place.
* KarmicDeath: Arick "Burnie" Burns is a StalkerWithACrush who believes his love and devotion for Fizzarolli automatically makes him entitled to the clown performer, and spends much of the episode acting like a slimy creep towards Fizz. At one point, Fizz has a panic attack from the stress of dealing with him, requiring Blitzo to intervene. When Arick later bursts in on Fizz sharing a romantic kiss with Asmodeus, he flies into a rage and attempts to attack the couple with a knife. Arick quickly meets a gory yet satisfying end when Blitzo one-shots him.
* KickTheDog: During the meet and greet, a child gives Mammon everything he has, which clearly isn't much. He then has a poor sack pulled over the kid's head and carried away.
* LastSecondWordSwap: When Mammon catches his FreudianSlip during a speech, he quickly tries to cover up.
-->'''Mammon:''' I can't wait to see all the new talent I can exploi-- uhm, fuck, I mean, ''enjoy!''
* Lol69: Robo-Fizzes are sold for $69.99, which knowing this show isn't a coincidence.
* LoonyFan: A lot of Fizzaroli's fanbase is crazily devoted to him, to the point that he's uncomfortable interacting with some of them. The fact several own a SexBot of him doesn't help. And at least one of said fans was so crazy that they turned into a FanHater due to Fizzaroli being weirded out by him years before.
* LyricalDissonance: "Two Minutes' Notice" is an uptempo song where Fizz joyously sings about how he's quitting his job due to the abuses placed upon him by his MeanBoss Mammon and has a refrain of "Fuck you!"
* MaskingTheDeformity: Fizz dramatically pulls off his jester hat to emphasize the "real" him to Ozzie, revealing what remains of his horns are burnt, jagged stumps. Fortunately, Ozzy assures Fizz that he doesn't love him for being a star performer, but rather what makes him who he is.
* MassOhCrap: When Fizz finally namedrops Mammon during his "2 Minutes Notice" performance, several members of the crowd react with shock and nervously glance up at Mammon, who suddenly gets ''very'' pissed off upon realizing Fizz has been singing about him the whole time.
* MeaninglessVillainVictory: After Fizzaroli quits working for Mammon, Glitz and Glam wonder if they won the clown pageant by default, but nobody really cares about what they're doing by that point. As if to emphasize this, a pillar falls on them right after they say it.
* TheMerch: In-universe, Mammon has completely merchandised Fizzarolli beyond belief, up to and including [[Recap/HelluvaBossS1E2LooLooLand the Robo-Fizz robots]], robot simulacra of him that can perform menial labor and also [[SexBot be used as sex toys]].
--> '''Mammon:''' We've got a Fizzie for ''every'' occasion! we got fluffy toy Fizzie, Fireman Fizzie, Therapist Fizzie, Wait-In-Line-For-Ya Fizzie, Doctor Fizzie (beeps every time it senses cancer!), fat Fizzie, skinny Fizzie, so many Fizzies! And if ya wanna fuck 'em, YA CAN! We've got Fizzies for the kids, Fizzies for the teens, and Fizzies for [[AbusiveAdvertising you sick fuckin' degenerate adults]]! WE GOT 'EM ALL! All based on my new face, Fizzie!
--> '''Fizzarolli:''' [[[EnforcedPlug nervously laughs]]] That's me!
--> '''Mammon:''' Buy yours now! ''DO IT!''
* MomentKiller: Invoked again by Blitzo, who ruins Fizz and Ozzie's cuddling in the car by asking which one of them tops. Fizz once again gives a glum reaction, but Ozzie gives a gentle smile upon realizing that he meant nothing from asking.
* MusicalEpisode: Downplayed. Thanks to the episode's setup being a talent pageant, there's a total of ''three'' in-universe musical numbers: "Klown Bitch" for the Glam Twins' IAmSong, "Crooked" for Ozzie's serenade to Fizz, and "2 Minutes Notice" for Fizzarolli's dressing down Mammon and official resignation. "juggling iz cool!" makes four, but it's not clear whether or not the song is diagetic.
* NeverNeedsSharpening: The Fizzbots are advertised as "dishwasher safe" despite there being no way they could fit in a dishwasher.
* NewTechIsNotCheap: Subverted. Mammon, the embodiment of greed, is selling a multi-functional robot that can serve as a passable imitation of a fully living imp for just $69.99. It's possible the economics in Hell make $70 a prohibitively expensive purchase for most families, but assuming the value of the dollar is the same in life and in Hell, Mammon is most likely exploiting the monopoly he has on production and the low overhead of exploiting his workers to massively increase the volume of sales while maintaining a high return on individual models. Basically, he can sell $70 robots to a hundred families to make $7,000 rather than selling a $700 robot to one family.
* NippleAndDimed: One woman in the audience sits on another imp's shoulders while topless, her nipples covered by dollar signs. Glitz likewise has dollar signs on her nipples when she flashes the audience in "Klown Bitch."
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Once Ozzie proudly confesses his love for Fizzie while defending him, Mammon backs off now that his blackmail attempt is moot. He then warns Ozzie that he'll end up regretting it one day.
* NumberOfTheBeast: At one point Fizz and the twin duo of Glitz and Glam have scores tied at 666 each.
* ObliviousToTheirOwnDescription: As Fizz sings about how he's been taken advantage of by his boss and how he is quitting his abusive job, Mammon enjoys the song and performance while wondering what "fuckhead" the song is about, Fizz's message going completely over his head until he namedrops Mammon himself in the lyrics.
* ObviouslyNotFine: While Fizz tries to convince both Ozzie and Blitzo he's fine, it's pretty clear to both of them that, due to how panickily he is and how fake all of his smiles are, he's clearly on the verge of either a panic attack or a mental breakdown.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: In private, Fizzarolli refers to Asmodeus by either [[AffectionateNickname Oz or Ozzie]], and be just as cuddly with the Sin of Lust. However, when Asmodeus comes to try and comfort him while he's in the throes of an intense panic attack, the jester refers to the Sin by his full name and rebuffs any physical comfort until he’s finally forced to admit the truth.
* OpenSecret: When Ozzie reveals that he does love Fizz in front of the crowd, plenty remark how they "knew it", furthering the fact plenty of people already knew the two were dating.
* PaedoHunt:
** Downplayed. It's not really clear how old Fizz, Blitzo, or Arick are during the flashback scene, but Blitzo is young enough to have dental braces and Fizz is about the same age, while Arick is old enough to have the beginnings of facial hair, implying there's at least a couple years' gap. Fizz is definitely young enough for it to be gross for ''anyone'' to be sneaking around his dressing room and demanding romantic interaction from him, but an age gap makes it even worse.
** Everyone in the crowd at the beginning seems creeped out when Mammon goes on a rant insisting making sex dolls of his contest winners isn't weird after he just invited kids to enter it.
* PerfectionIsImpossible: When Fizz is stressing out preparing for the competition, Ozzie tells him that he doesn't need to worry about being perfect, because no one is perfect. Even Blitzo shares this sentiment in the flashback, since he sees Fizzaroli as someone “good enough” for him, even subtly trying to convince him to not waste his time and energy on a guy who clearly wants to exploit him.
* PetTheDog: Fizzaroli calls up a deaf child with broken horns, giving him encouragement in sign language. He later thanks him while giving his big 2-minute notice song.
* PlayboyBunny: Glitz and Glam dress in sexy Playboy bunny outfits when performing the pie-in-the face act during the competition.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: In the {{flashback}} at the beginning of the episode, Mammon discourages any female would-be competitors from entering the pageant, bluntly stating that women just aren't funny. Subverted later on, when he admits the Glam Sisters' performance actually made him reevaluate his views on female performers.
* RagingStiffie: When Ozzie is watching Fizzarolli perform his "I quit" song from the wings, he glances down, blushes, and then quickly covers himself with the curtains -- the implication being that Fizz's performance, topped with him finally standing up for himself and being confident, was a big turn-on.
* RelationshipLabelingProblems: When calling Blitzo, Asmodeus has trouble defining how he and Fizzarolli are acquainted after the events of "[[Recap/HelluvaBossS2E6Oops Oops]]":
--> '''Asmodeus:''' Is this... Fizz's former bestie, then lifelong enemy, then recent hero, now newly-rekindled sorta-friend, Blitzo?\
'''Blitzo:''' Uh, that's a weird way to put it, but YEP!
* RipTailoring: During "Two Minutes Notice", Fizzaroli slowly rips off parts of his outfit (starting with his sleeves, then his cuffs, part of his shirt, exposing his midriff and finally, his collar) to show he's embracing those parts of himself that Mammon wanted him to hide to make himself more marketable (his robot prosthetics, burn scars and [[CallBack the slightly softer middle Mammon complained about earlier]])
* TheRival: Glitz and Glam serve as Fizzaroli's {{Jerkass}} rivals during the [[TalentContest clown pagent]], being the first ones to truly challenge him for the top spot for years, thanks to their SuperiorTwinTeamwork.
%%Need more context* RunningAwayToCry: Fizzarolli does this during Klown Bitch.
* RollOutTheRedCarpet: The entrance to Mammon's Clown Pangeant has a fancy red carpet surrounded by security, fans, and reporters, all to illustrate how prestigious the event is.
* RuleOfThree: Subverted. This is the third episode in which a Deadly Sin is introduced, but unlike "OZZIE's" and "Queen Bee" promo cards where their respective sigils front and center, this episode's promo card doesn't show Mammon's sigil at ''all'', instead showing Mammon and Fizz.
* SelfDeprecation: During the opening scene of the episode, Mammon expresses his view why women should give up their dreams and not bother entering his clown pageant with reasoning that "women just ain't funny". After saying this, the episode's credit "Written by Creator/VivienneMedrano" appears beside Mammon, only to instantly vanish the moment Mammon starts talking again.
* SexyJester: This is Glitz and Glam's entire schtick, preferring to lean on sex appeal rather than actual clowning skills.
* ShipperOnDeck: When Ozzie loudly and publicly proclaims that he loves Fizz, the entire crowd cheers in support and happily post about it on social media. The [=YouTube=] captions even describe it as "fangirling".
* SeriousBusiness: Apparently, the role of a clown is actually a public occupation of great regard in the same vein as actors or pop stars.
* {{Squee}}: When Mammon and Asmodeus face off in their giant rage forms, one member of the audience is visibly thrilled to be witnessing this in-universe display of CoolVersusAwesome.
* StepfordSmiler: Fizzaroli tries to keep a smile and goofy expression on his face during the TalentContest, but he's clearly on the verge of having a mental breakdown during most of the episode. He finally ends up having a panic attack after the Glam Twins' music number, but Asmodeus manages to talk him through it.
* SupermodelStrut: Glitz and Glam's musical number "Klown Bitch" begins with Glam doing a confident strut towards the audience before she starts breaking out her dance moves.
* TakeThisJobAndShoveIt: The entire point of "2 Minutes Notice". Fizz sings all about what a terrible boss Mammon is and how he is quitting, even encouraging the audience to sing along if they hate their bosses too. Then after the song, he announces to the audience he is quitting just to get the point across.
* TalentContest: The episode centers around Mammon's clown pageant contest, which Fizzaroli has won for several years in a row, but is now struggling with due to new competition in the form of Glitz and Glam and his own declining mental health due to dealing with his toxic fans and [[MeanBoss Mammon's blatant exploitation of him]].
* TechnicianVersusPerformer: The Glam Sisters and Fizzarolli each take a different approach in both how they perform as well as how they present themselves. The Glam Sisters are the Technicians, using their SuperiorTwinTeamwork to gain an edge all the while not giving a crap about actually making people happy with their performances, outside of using it to be famous and win Mammon's favor, with their final showing being a great song and showcase of their powers and talents, but having absolutely ''nothing'' to do with actually being a clown. Fizzarolli, on the other hand, is the Performer, who genuinely loves both the art of being a clown and his (sane) fans, but is feeling burnt out due to the fact Mammon sees him more as a commercial then an actual performer, with his final performance being an improvised TheVillainSucksSong about why he's finally had enough of Mammon and is quitting, all the while mixing it plenty of ''actual'' clown or circus acts (like balancing on a ball, baton twirling, and swinging on a trapeze). The dynamic is best shown during the meet and greet, where Glitz and Glam are merely just posing for pictures while Fizzarolli, even while stressed out of his mind, is taking the time to try and actually be personal with people.
* ThisIsForEmphasisBitch:
** The ending of Glitz and Glam's "Klown Bitch" song has them using "bitch" at the end of the lines for emphasis, and also as an insult to Fizzaroli (whom the last part of the song is aimed at).
--->'''Glitz and Glam:''' I'm a klown, bitch!\
Fix up your frown, bitch!\
Gimme the crown, bitch!\
You hear the sound,\
You're going down,\
Cause I'm a klown, bitch!
** Fizzaroli's own "2 Minutes Notice" music number finishes with him calling Mammon a bitch.
* ThirdWheel: The very end of the episode shows Asmodeus and Fizzarolli passionately embracing in Oz's limousine, before the camera pans out to show Blitzo sitting right next to them as he casually asks "So, who tops?" The [[MeaningfulLook "is it not obvious?" look]] Asmodeus gives him is priceless.
* ThreeMinutesOfWrithing: Glitz and Glam's VillainSong "Klown Bitch" has them playing up their sex appeal and doing provocative dance moves through the whole number, which more closely resembles a pop song music video than a clown performance. Neither the audience nor Mammon seems to mind, so it's likely a case of InUniverse SexSells and them taking advantage of their MsFanservice status.
* TooDumbToLive: Despite how common murder and manslaughter seem to be in hell, Arick keeps antagonizing Fizzaroli even with Blitzo pointing a gun at his head. He later busts into Fizz's dressing room brandishing a knife while he is in there with Asmodeus in there, resulting in Blitzo blowing his brains out before anyone else could respond. And even if Blitzo hadn't killed him, Asmodeus most certainly would have.
* TokenEvilTeammate: While the other members of the Sins seen so far have all shown some form of EvenEvilHasStandards and other redeeming traits, like Ozzie's affection towards Fizzaroli, Bee being concerned about the well-being of her partygoers, and even Lucifer giving his daughter advice on rejecting shady deals. Mammon however is depicted as nothing but an exploitive jerk who only cares about himself and getting all the money he can.
* ToplessnessFromTheBack: One of Fizzaroli's fangirls lifts up her shirt to flash him, but the viewer only sees her back bare and {{Sideboob}}.
* TorsoWithAView: A ''headshot'' variation. When Blitzo [[BoomHeadshot shoots Arick in the head]], the hole is so big that for a moment we can still see a startled Fizz and Ozzie framed by it. [[FreezeFrameBonus Amusingly]], the hole is decidedly heart-shaped.
* TuckAndCover: Asmodeus does this for Fizzaroli when Mammon makes his [[WeaponizedTeleportation explosive departure]]. It's a very effective maneuver when the one doing the covering is NighInvulnerable and so big that they can cover the person they're defending with their hands.
* TwitchyEye: After shooting Arick, Blitzø congratulates Fizzaroli and Asmodeus on being a happy couple... and then his eye twitches as he calls them out on their mockery of his relationship with Stolas in ''[[Recap/HelluvaBossS1E7Ozzies OZZIE'S]]''.
--> '''Blitzø:''' Oh, so you two ''are'' an item. ''[eye twitches angrily]'' Well, ''congratulations'', you fucking ''hypocrites''.
* TheUnreveal: Blitzo asks Fizz and Ozzie which one of them tops, but neither of them gives a direct answer.
* VerySpecialEpisode: Outright called one in the episode's description, as it's a musical extravaganza [[ExtraLongEpisode nearly a third longer than other episodes in the season]] that deals with extremely heavy topics such as toxic and entitled fans and the cruel exploitation of performance stars for profit.
* VillainSong: [[TheRival Fizz's rivals]] Glitz and Glam sing "Klown Bitch" during their performance, where they actively taunt Fizz that they're coming for his "crown" as king of the clowns.
* TheVillainSucksSong: Fizz's song "Two Minutes Notice" is him going on about how a BadBoss Mammon has been to him, and how he's finally done with him, repeatedly telling him, "Fuck You!"
* VillainyFreeVillain: The Glam Sisters are just antagonists in that they're competing against Fizz in the competition, but their catty personalities make them easy to root against.
* WasItReallyWorthIt: In the flashback, Blitz wonders if him and Fizz going to Mammon's show was worth their savings, especially since it was basically a glorified commercial.
* WhamLine: In the span of one little exchange with Mammon, Asmodeus manages to absolutely ''shatter'' the status quo...
-->'''Mammon:''' (''tauntingly'') Look who's actin' like a big fuckin' hero! Be careful what ya say, Ozzie! Wouldn't want your little secret gettin' out, would we?\
'''Asmodeus:''' I DON'T ''CARE'' ANYMORE!\
'''Fizzarolli:''' Ozz?\
'''Mammon:''' Because if you let 'im quit, I could tell everyone here that-\
'''Asmodeus:''' What? That I ''love'' him? WELL I ''DO!''
* WorkingClassAnthem: "Two-Minutes Notice" has shades of this, being a song where he tells of his abusive boss ({{Mammon}}) and even calls out to those in the audience who can relate to him.
* WriterRevolt: In-universe. Asmodeus manages to convince Fizzarolli to [[TorchTheFranchiseAndRun quit his job as the current centerpiece of Mammon's media empire in a blaze of glory]], his swan song being an extended, protracted rant calling out Mammon for being an absolute douchebag of a boss and quitting immediately after its conclusion.
* XtremeKoolLetterz: Glitz and Glam's song "Klown Bitch" replaces "clown" with "klown", just for the "kool" factor.
