Except it's soon revealed that goddess rank cultists are candidates of those who bear the essence of the Goddess. It took a while before Bob can confirm that the whole Goddess thing is merely propaganda from the cult leader. When the cult leader sends assassins after him, however, Alice quickly repels them with alien technology and explains how she and her parents came from a distant world across the galaxy. Alice's parents soon tell Bob a secret, Alice is really just an Earthling girl they adopted when she was just a baby. Aside from knowledge of operating alien devices, there's nothing special about her at all.
