{{Official Couple}}s in Anime & Manga.
----
* ''Manga/AhMyGoddess'': Keiichi and Belldandy are official from the very first episode because it was Keiichi's wish that she be his girlfriend forever.
* ''Manga/AiYoriAoshi'': Kaoru and Aoi get secretly engaged to each other right after the start of the story, but only Miyabi and Aoi's parents know about it. [[spoiler:At the end of the manga they get married and live HappilyEverAfter, although [[TheOjou Mayu]] claims that she [[UnrequitedLoveLastsForever hasn't given up]].]]
* ''Manga/AkameGaKill'':
** [[spoiler:Tatsumi and Mine become the official couple during the Wild Hunt story arc. Mine falls into a coma after saving Tatsumi's life, but he promises that he wants to make her his wife if he survives the final battle and she wakes up. She does and then he does.]]
** [[spoiler:Wave and Kurome. In chapter 64, she kisses him before going to her final duel with Akame, which makes Wave realize he is in love with her. Two chapters later, he arrives just in time to stop the duel between sisters, confesses his love for Kurome and declares his intention to abandon the empire to run away with Kurome and take care of her. After some struggle, Kurome accepts, they kiss and leave together.]]
* ''Manga/AngelDensetsu'':
** We actually get to see how Kitano's parent got together. With ArtShift no less.
** Kitano himself manages to become a couple with Ryoko at the end of the series.
* ''Manga/AssassinationClassroom'': [[spoiler:Irina and Karasuma get married]].
* ''Manga/BambooBlade'': Dan ([[{{Gonk}} short and acorn-headed]]) and Miyako Miyazaki. The cast is still trying to figure out how this one works, although it helps Miya Miya is also a gag character who flips between sweet and [[{{Yandere}} psycho]].
* ''Manga/{{Berserk}}'': Guts and Casca grew to love each other despite their initial BelligerentSexualTension until they [[spoiler:made love]] and became a couple. Griffith's betrayal and the Eclipse created a gulf between them, making the two into StarCrossedLovers, but Guts has since decided that he will stay together with her [[{{Determinator}} no matter what it takes]].
%%* Luka and Yuki of ''Manga/BetrayalKnowsMyName''.
%%* Rock and Revy of ''Manga/BlackLagoon'' are ''almost'' this, due to numerous... implications.
%%* ''Manga/BlastOfTempest'': Yoshino and Aika.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'': Although the story focuses on a group of friends who fight and support each other, there is very little romance in the story and the only confirmed relationships tend to have one or both partners being deceased. These relationships only get revealed when they're relevant to the motivation of the main characters, such the back story of Ichigo and Ishida's living fathers and deceased mothers. However, the epilogue of the story occurs after a ten-year Time Skip and does reveal that several characters get together during that time. [[spoiler:Ichigo and Orihime live together at the Kurosaki Clinic and have a son, while Renji (still Byakuya's lieutenant) and Rukia (a newly promoted captain) have a daughter.]]
* Hagino and Mari from the ''Manga/BlueDrop'' anime.
* ''Manga/BlueSeed'' had a pretty clean sweep by the end of the series:
** Momiji and Kusanagi.
** [[BetaCouple Koume and Yaegashi]] [[spoiler:They're engaged by the end of the OVA.]]
** [[BetaCouple Ryoko and Kunikida]], interestingly enough they pair up halfway through the series.
* Jo and Meg from ''Anime/BurstAngel'' (two main characters who are also a BattleCouple).
* ''Manga/BusoRenkin'': Kazuki and Tokiko were effectively a couple by the end of the first arc and were together for the rest of the series. Even Gouta, the only other character with romantic intentions towards Tokiko, accepted that the pair belonged together by the end of the series.
* Kanade and Yukino from ''Anime/CandyBoy'', despite its [[{{Twincest}} complications]].
* ''Manga/CaptainTsubasa'':
** Tsubasa and Sanae. They get married at the end of the World Youth Cup, and she's currently pregnant with their child.
** Ishizaki and Yukari as well. [[spoiler:The ''Next Dream'' preview shows that he proposed to her before moving to Italy together]].
* ''Manga/CaseClosed'':
** The series is famous for its WillTheyOrWontThey shenanigans, and while there are a lot of canon ships in the series, it usually takes tons of chapters to make them real. However, some of them have managed to become official (already married couples excluded except one):
*** Subverted with Kogoro and Eri. They are technically still married, but they have an estranged relationship and it is only a matter of time when they are finally going to get back together.
*** In contrast to how long [=Shinichi×Ran=] or [=Heiji×Kazuha=] take to become a couple, Sonoko, who was notorious for frequently seeking a boyfriend, is together with Makoto Kyogoku the first to become an Official Couple. Initially, the RunningGag of Sonoko looking for boyfriends and having eyes for other good-looking guys still continued, but it toned down when their relationship became more and more serious, to the point that she would choose Makoto over her "sort-of-idol" crush Kaito KID.
*** Wataru Takagi and Miwako Sato are the first non-married police couple to become together and the cases involving their relationship have been frequently called "Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story". Nowadays, it's a RunningGag to tease their rather active sex life.
*** Ninzaburo Shiratori and Sumiko Kobayashi are one of the quickest ships to become together. Shiratori's previous crush on Sato is {{Retcon}}ned as him having mistaken her for Kobayashi-sensei all along.
*** Shuichi Akai used to be Akemi Miyano's boyfriend, but she is killed by Gin early on in the manga (or in episode 128 in the anime). Akai also used to be together with [[spoiler:Jodie Starling]] prior to dating Akemi. He still has feelings for his dead girlfriend.
*** Zigzagged with Yumi Miyamoto and Shukichi Haneda. Shukichi is introduced as Yumi's ex-boyfriend, but he still has the intention to marry her. Yumi eventually catches on and supports him to fulfill his promise.
*** Shinichi and Ran finally become a couple in chapters 1004-1005, although they are still "separated" from each other since Shinichi has still not be fully cured.
* ''Literature/ChivalryOfAFailedKnight'': Ikki Kurogane and Stella Vermillion, the protagonists from the aforementioned Light Novel/Manga/Anime, on a twist of what would be easily mistaken for an harem series by how it begins, the couple is formed very early on the story (around the end of volume 1 from the Light Novel, chapter 10 from the Manga and episode 4 of the Anime).
* Rosette/Chrono and [[spoiler:Joshua/Azmaria]] in the epilogue of the manga version of ''Manga/ChronoCrusade''.
* Examples from ''Creator/{{CLAMP}}'' media:
** Sakura and Syaoran in ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura'', who confessed to each other at the end of the series, as well as [[spoiler:Real Syaoran and Real Sakura]] from ''Manga/TsubasaReservoirChronicle'' [[spoiler:who also confess their love at the end of the series]]. [[spoiler:The Clone Syaoran and Clone Sakura]] also married [[spoiler:during the infinite time loop and Real Syaoran was apparently their son, and Clone Syaoran was cloned FROM the Real Syaoran, making the whole thing a LOT more complicated and confusing at times, but in the end the clones were paired together as were the real versions.]]
** Fai and Kurogane, also from ''Tsubasa''. They were so heavily hinted at that fans went crazy, bombarding Creator/{{CLAMP}} with questions and begging that they eventually said ''"Screw it!"'' and rolled with it. Took a few years too because they wanted to keep it ambiguous. Fans won out.
** Touya and Yukito in ''Cardcaptor Sakura'', and later in ''Tsubasa''. Similarly, Gingetsu and Ran in ''Manga/{{Clover}}''.
** Other canon couples from ''Cardcaptor Sakura'' include Eriol and Kaho, Yamazaki and Chiharu and (manga only) Mr. Terada and Rika.
** In both ''Tsubasa'' and ''Manga/XxxHolic'', [[spoiler:Clow and Yuuko]] manage to achieve this status despite not appearing together in a single scene, not even in a flashback, and [[spoiler:''both'']] of them being long dead. [[spoiler:The major tipoff was learning that the only reason one half of this pair continued existing is because the other half wished for it.]]
** ''Manga/{{X 1999}}'' has Sorata and Arashi, [[MayDecemberRomance Yuzuriha and Kusanagi]] and Seishirou and Subaru - though "couple" might not be [[MindGameShip the most fitting term for the latter]]. Similarly, Fuuma and Kamui can hardly be called a "couple", but they're far enough out of subtext and into the text and have the WordOfGod.
** Kamui and [[TheIngenue Kotori]] also count as an official couple, even though [[spoiler:she dies later on]]. In fact, rather than any of the other couples already mentioned, these two appear on the 'the Lovers' tarot card included with the tankoubon version [[http://ryen.net/tarot/x/]]
** Chi and Hideki in ''Manga/{{Chobits}}''.
** Kobato and Fujimaki in ''Manga/{{Kobato}}''.
* In ''VisualNovel/{{Clannad}}'' (the Creator/KyoAni anime).
** Nagisa and Tomoya are an official couple ''from the start'': neither of them could imagine not being with the other one, and Tomoya doesn't even seem to notice that several other girls are in love with him.
** The Kyou and Tomoyo Another World OVA episodes make Kyou and Tomoya or Tomoyo and Tomoya the Official Couple respectively.
* ''Anime/CodeGeass'':
** The closest thing shown with the ''main'' characters is [[InternalReformist Suzaku Kururugi]] and [[RoseHairedSweetie Euphemia li Britannia]]. They are sometimes considered the BetaCouple because Suzaku is just the {{deuteragonist}}, but the main protagonist, [[TheChessmaster Lelouch vi Britannia]], is a CelibateHero who is pursued by multiple girls ([[MysteriousWaif C.C.]], [[ActionGirl Kallen Kozuki]], and [[AllLovingHeroine Shirley Fenette]]). [[spoiler:Sadly Suzaku and Euphie never get far, as she ends up killed by Lelouch, who accidentally brainwashed her via [[MagicalEye Geass]] into killing throngs of Japanese people.]]
** With background characters, we have [[TheEveryman Kaname Ohgi]] and [[TheBaroness Villetta Nu]]. After finding the then amnesiac Villetta and nursing her back to health in [=R1=], Ohgi grows close to who he doesn't realize is a knight of honor in the [[FantasticRacism heavily racist]] [[TheEmpire Britannian Empire]]. When Villetta regains her memories, [[TheFarmerAndTheViper she nearly kills Ohgi]] [[UngratefulBastard and rails on him for daring to show affection towards her just because he's Japanese]]. But [[LoveEpiphany she later starts to realize her own feelings]] towards him come [=R2=], in which she joins the [[LaResistance Black Knights]] after being blackmailed by Lelouch. [[spoiler:After a good deal of disagreement and realization, they are married by the end of the series, [[BabiesEverAfter with Villetta expecting their child]].]]
* ''Anime/CrossAnge'':
** [[BadassNormal Tusk]] and [[FallenPrincess Ange]] grow steadily closer after their somewhat problematic first meeting, until Episode 14 caps off with them sharing a tender FirstKiss. [[spoiler:Even then, the UnresolvedSexualTension remains strong until Episode 22, where [[TheirFirstTime they finally go all the way, making love on a beachside underneath a starry sky]]. They marry after defeating [[BigBad Embryo]], and in the WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue, they open up a cafe with [[{{Meido}} Momoka]].]]
** On a more yuri-related note, we have [[EmoTeen Chris]] and [[SergeantRock Rosalie]]. [[spoiler:The both of them originally start off as members of Zola's harem alongside Hilda, and later, ''Hilda's'' harem after Zola is killed. However, they ultimately reject Hilda after she tries to ditch Arzenal, [[PoorCommunicationKills accusing her]] [[ItsAllAboutMe of only thinking about herself.]] Chris and Rosalie, therefore, remain together as a couple and promise to stay by each other's side. Later down the road, when Chris [[FaceHeelTurn has joined Embryo]], Rosalie is the one to [[LoveRedeems bring her back to the light]] with an AnguishedDeclarationOfLove. They are shown back together in the WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue, and the ending scene even shows them holding hands.]]
* ''Manga/CrossGame'' ends with three of them: Nakanishi and his girlfriend from the track team, Ichiyo and Junpei, and finally Ko and Aoba.
* In ''Anime/CyberpunkEdgerunners'', Lucy and David become this. Their blossoming relationship is a source for much of the series' heartfelt moments and their time together directly influences the series' plot, especially after the TimeSkip.
* Daisuke and [[spoiler:Riku]] become a couple later in ''Manga/DNAngel'' [[spoiler:although the series' manga still hasn't ended as it seems to be on hiatus again so it may end with different shippings later, but they seem to be canon at this time. In the anime they were also heavily implied to be canon by the end.]]
* ''Anime/Danganronpa3TheEndOfHopesPeakHighSchool'' has Sonosuke Izayoi and Ruruka Andou, [[ChildhoodFriendRomance childhood friends]] who have been together since at least high school.
* ''Manga/TheDangersInMyHeart'': [[spoiler: Kyƍtarƍ Ichikawa and Anna Yamada confess their love for each other in chapters 110 and 113 respectively, and start officially dating from then on after a long period of spending time together yet being TwiceShy.]]
* In ''Anime/DarlingInTheFranxx'', we have Hiro and Zero Two. Even before the two confessed their feelings for each other in Episode 15, the evolution of their relationship and the challenges they face form much of the show's drama.
%%* ''Manga/DawnOfTheArcana'': Caesar and Nakaba.
* Himeko and Chikane from ''Manga/DestinyOfTheShrineMaiden''.
* ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba'''s DistantFinale revealed the descendants of [[spoiler: Tanjiro Kamado and Kanao Tsuyuri as well as Zenitsu Agatsuma and Nezuko Kamado.]] The extra from volume 23 also revealed that [[spoiler: Inosuke Hashibira and Aoi Kanzaki]] end up together. Finally, [[spoiler: Mitsuri Kanoji and Obanai Iguro end up TogetherInDeath with their reincarnated selves ending up as a couple.]]
* ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'':
** Yamato (Matt)/Sora and Miyako (Yolei)/Ken as confirmed in the DistantFinale of ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02''.
** ''Anime/DigimonTamers'' has [[PuppyLove Takato and Jeri]].
* ''Manga/DragonBall'': Goku/Chichi, Yamcha/Bulma first, Vegeta/Bulma later, Krillin/Android 18, Gohan/Videl, etc.
* ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'': The only couples that are together are [[{{Yandere}} Seiji]] and [[StalkerWithACrush Mika]], [[StepfordSmiler Kida]] and [[HoneyTrap Saki]] and [[EyesAlwaysShut Walker]] and [[YaoiFangirl Erika]]. [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass Mikado]] and [[BrokenBird Anri]] and [[HeadlessHorseman Celty]] and [[BackAlleyDoctor Shinra]] also join in eventually.
* Coud and Ren in ''Manga/ElementalGelade''.
* ''Anime/EurekaSeven'': Renton and Eureka are the two main characters and the main couple, whose relationship forms the backbone of the show. Holland and Talho's relationship in another major focus. Gidget and Moondoggie are the BetaCouple, and by the show's end [[spoiler:Dominic and Anemone]] become a couple too.
* ''Manga/FairyTail'':
** Alzack and Bisca, who got married and had a daughter together during the 7-year timeskip.
** Jellal and Erza ''would'' be this, but narrowly missed it after Jellal decided his lifestyle was too dangerous to drag Erza down with him. It's firmly [[AnchoredShip anchored]], but no telling when it might be resolved.
** Also Jude and Layla, Lucy's parents, who are now TogetherInDeath.
** Ren and Sherry, who are engaged!
** And then there were Kyouka and Seilah, the two lesbian demons from Tartaros.
** Aquarius and Scorpio, though [[spoiler:no word on how they're progressing or if they can even still meet now that Lucy can't summon Aquarius any longer]].
** Zeref and Mavis, to the point where they're [[http://i.imgur.com/464fzqp.jpg holding hands on the cover of Volume 53]]. [[spoiler:It's also easily the most tragic Official Couple in the series, due to Mavis' "[[OnlyMostlyDead death]]" being what led to Zeref's StartOfDarkness, because it was Zeref's love for her that [[KissOfDeath killed her]]. Their relationship is more or less the focus of the ''Albareth Empire'' arc, due to Emperor Spriggan (read: Zeref) launching an invasion of Ishgal just to get his hands on Lumen Histoire (read: Mavis' physical body). It is also revealed that August from the Spriggan 12 is Zeref and Mavis's son and they never knew it!]]
** The final arc subtly reveals that Gajeel and Levi have been in a relationship during the one-year time-skip and are sexually active. The epilogue makes a rather obvious hint that [[spoiler:Levi is pregnant with Gajeel's child]].
** In the epilogue, [[spoiler:Gray]] is starting to slowly accept [[spoiler:Juvia]]'s feeling towards him.
** It is all but stated that Rogue and Minerva have been in a relationship or at least have slept with each other.
** [[SubvertedTrope The epilogue also makes fun of the idea that everyone has to be paired with somebody.]] Thus there are in-universe rumors that [[spoiler:Laxus]] has something with either [[spoiler:Mirajane]], [[spoiler:Lisanna]] or [[spoiler:Cana]]. However, one of the cover pages that shows several couple panels suggest that [[spoiler:Laxus and Mirajane]] are indeed an Official Couple.
* Louise and Saito of ''Literature/TheFamiliarOfZero''.
* ''Manga/FistOfTheNorthStar'' has Kenshiro and Yuria. Even after [[spoiler:Yuria's death]] he remains loyal to her memory. And at the beginning of ''Kenshiro Den'', the last of the ''Legends of the True Savior'' films, it's revealed that [[spoiler: she is pregnant with his child]], effectively retconning the entire ''Hokuto'' continuity after Raoh's death.
* ''Anime/FlipFlappers'': [[spoiler:Papika and Cocona]] get together after a mutual LoveConfession at the end.
* Many examples in ''Manga/FruitsBasket'': [[spoiler:Kyo and Tohru, Yuki and Machi, Hatori and Kana (later Hatori and Mayuko), Shigure and Akito, Hatsuharu and Isuzu/Rin, Hiro and Kisa, Ayame and Mine.]] There are also official couples for ''minor characters''.
* ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'':
** Ed and Winry is confirmed at the end the manga/''Brotherhood'' with [[spoiler:a hug, proposal, and BabiesEverAfter]].
** Roy and Riza. The official nature of the pairing is stated once and for all in the third art book. [[SubordinateExcuse There's an anti-fraternization law in the military, which Arakawa states is the only thing keeping them from getting married.]]
** Ed and Al's parents, Trisha and Hohenheim.
** Izumi Curtis and her husband Sig.
* ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'': Tamahome and Miaka, which is later extended with Tamahome being reincarnated as Taka.
* ''Manga/FutureDiary'' has Yukiteru and Yuno, a [[JustForFun/TheShipYard Loose Cannon Ship]], as well as BetaCouple [[spoiler:Minene and Nishijima, with two kids to boot]]. Marco and Ai are also BattleCouple, to the point that both together hold the position of the 7th Diary Holder.
* ''Anime/FutureGPXCyberFormula'':
** The main series has Hayato and Asuka, along with {{Beta Couple}}s Shinjyo and Miki, Osamu and Clair and Shiba and Rena. The series ends with [[spoiler:Hayato and Asuka's wedding ceremony with most of the cast attending it.]]
** Shiba and Rena ''themselves'' are the official couple in the Platform/PlayStation game. The rest of the couples in the series are beta couples.
* ''VideoGame/GanbareGoemon'', involving the titular character and primary DamselInDistress Omitsu. This is made especially obvious in the TV anime.
* Kei Kurono and Tae Kojima from ''Manga/{{Gantz}}''.
* ''Literature/TheGardenOfSinners'': Shiki and Mikiya. Not very surprising, considering it's essentially a romance. There's some stuff in there about the nature of personalities and murder too, but the romance is the important bit. [[BrotherSisterIncest Azaka is really kind of unhappy about it.]]
* Shido and Madoka in ''Manga/GetBackers''. Despite being the impetus of one side story and one major StoryArc, there isn't much to say about it beyond "it's cute," and "it works." Later in the manga, [[spoiler:Hevn and Masaki.]]
* ''Manga/GirlsBravo'': Yukinari Sasaki and Miharu Sena Kanaka become this since the beginning of the series.[[spoiler: At the end of the manga series, they get married and live HappilyEverAfter on Earth.]]
* ''Manga/GirlFriends2006'': [[spoiler:Akko and Mari upgrade from a GayRomanticPhase to being a true couple in a SecretRelationship. The end of the series indicates they will remain together.]]
* ''Literature/{{Gosick}}'': Kazuya and Victorique. After many moments of ShipTease, it's finally official in the end.
* ''Manga/GTOTheEarlyYears'':
** [[TeacherStudentRomance Ryuji and Ayumi]].
** Later, Ryuji and Nagisa.
** Tsukai and Itou. Along with Ryuji and Nagisa, they have probably the healthiest relationship in the series, and the sequels confirm that they get married.
* ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' has its own share.
** [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam UC timeline]] has e.g. Mirai and Bright marrying in between series. Zeta is full of 'em, even if most end deadly for either or both lovers.
** ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'' has the [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome epic solution]] of Domon and Rain's relationship in the very last episode. ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjmCQXdVibA And epic is hardly enough to describe it]]).
** As of the ''Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop'' manga, [[spoiler: Zechs and Noin, as well as Duo and Hilde]] are married, but in the latter case, [[spoiler: they divorced later]]. The final page adds [[spoiler: Relena and Heero]] as it ends with the latter proposing marriage to the former.
** ''Anime/AfterWarGundamX'' has four final pairings ([[spoiler:Garrod and Tifa, Jamil and Salah, Toniya and Witz, Ennil and Roybea]]) but at least two or three are pretty clear throughout the series and just need to evolve into full-fledged love.
** ''Anime/TurnAGundam'' has a couple most notably Loran and [[spoiler: Queen Dianna Soriel]] as well as Harry and [[spoiler: Kihel Heim]].
** ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'' and ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDDestiny'' have these in the end: Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne, Shinn Asuka and Lunamaria Hawke, and Mu La Flaga and Murrue Ramius. Athrun Zala and Cagalli Yula Athha ''were'' an official couple in the first series, but things got a lot [[{{UST}} more ambiguous]] in ''Destiny'', and fandom has never been able to agree on the subject since. In the sequel ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEEDFreedom'', [[spoiler:''all'' of the aforementioned couples are still there, including Athrun and Cagalli making them somewhat of [[DoubleSubversion double-subverted example]]. Also of note is Kira and Lacus' RelationshipUpgrade, having grown even closer than before.]]
** From ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00'', the fourth and presumably final ED could best be described as an {{Official|Couple}}/BetaCouple montage, [[spoiler:namely Saji Crossroad/Louise Halevy (the series' first couple since S1), Allelujah Haptism/Soma Peries (Marie Parfacy), Lyle "Lockon Stratos" Dylandy/Anew Returner, and [[CargoShip Setsuna F. Seiei/his Gundam]]. The finale adds Patrick Colasour/Kati Mannequin, wedding ceremony and all.]].
** In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamTheWitchFromMercury'', [[YuriGenre Suletta and Miorine's]] relationship is the centerpiece of the narrative. While their engagement at the end of the first episode is initially transactional, the two [[RomanticFakeRealTurn gradually grow closer over the course of the story]]. [[spoiler:Come the epilogue, they are HappilyMarried, rings and all]].
* ''Anime/GuiltyCrown'': Shu and Inori.
* The author of ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'' is subtle, but Hayate's love for Nagi is sealed in the final by holding hands. This is stated multiple times in word and art on Hata Kenjiro's blog. Due to the lack of Maria content during the Mafia arc Hata had been receiving death threats from Chinese Maria fans, it is no surprise he might have wanted to give Hinagiku the gentlest conclusion possible, with an offscreen rejection to better focus on her overcoming her romantic shyness.
* ''Manga/{{Hellsing}}'': [[OfficerAndAGentleman Pip Bernadotte]] and Seras Victoria. WordOfGod states that "if Seras wasn't a vampire and Pip wasn't a mercenary, they would be the perfect couple that everybody would be envious of".
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'':
** Austria and Hungary were married at one point, and still have affection for each other.
** Germany and Italy; Germany proposing to Italy, and them going on a date in the Buon San Valentino strip.
** Also, Sweden and Finland, in a one-sided sense. But the fact that Sweden is [[WordOfGay officially gay]] and Finland is his [[SingleTargetSexuality single-target sexuality]] makes it even more canon.
* ''Literature/HighSchoolDXD'' makes it clear that Issei and Rias are the official couple... and the rest of the harem would make it clear that's "official" as in "she gets to be the legal wife". Each member of the harem has a meaningful relationship with Issei, [[MarryThemAll they're all okay with that]], and any competition is for the position of First Mistress.
* ''Manga/HisAndHerCircumstances'' is rife with Official Couples which is the whole point of the show. In fact, it's easier to list who ''isn't'' in a relationship by the end of the manga than the other way around.
* ''Manga/ICantUnderstandWhatMyHusbandIsSaying'': [[HappilyMarried Kaoru and Hajime]]. It's hard to be more official than having the anime open with their wedding.
* ''Anime/ImGonnaBeAnAngel'': [[GenkiGirl Noelle]] and [[DoggedNiceGuy Yuusuke]] are an established couple already in the first episode, but fans tend to prefer Yuusuke paired with much more mature [[DefrostingIceQueen Natsumi]]. Also, [[spoiler:Raphael and Mikael who in the last episode turned out to be the real main couple of the show, although they were established as a Official Couple from the moment Raphael appeared]].
* ''VideoGame/InazumaEleven'': There aren't any official couples in the first series but [[spoiler:Endou and Natsumi]] are married in ''GO'' (the sequel).
* ''Manga/InuYasha'': Sango and Miroku, who have had a steadily evolving relationship from their mutual introductions. Interestingly, Inu-Yasha himself is part of a triangle (with Kagome and Kikyo). [[spoiler:The manga finally resolves this issue by re-killing off Kikyo and giving her and Inuyasha a bittersweet closure so she can pass away in peace and he can let go of his guilt and be free to go with Kagome. In the DistantFinale Sango and Miroku have children and Kagome manages to return to the past to be with Inuyasha for good after some time spent stuck in the future. In the spin-off, Hanyo no Yashahime, Sesshomaru and Rin are confirmed to be married, and thus an official couple.]]
%%* ''Manga/{{Is}}'': Ichitaka and Iori.
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'':
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventurePhantomBlood Phantom Blood]]'': Jonathan and Erina, who get married shortly after Jonathan defeated Dio. [[spoiler:Tragically, Jonathan ends up sacrificing himself after Dio returned to steal his body]].
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency Battle Tendency]]'': Joseph and Suzi Q tie the knot after the last battle with Kars. However, none of Joseph's allies were aware of this since they all assumed he died and only because Suzi Q forgot to send Joseph's telegram to tell them that he was alright.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Diamond is Unbreakable]]'': Koichi and Yukako, despite their initial hostile encounter early in the story, get together after the Cinderella arc.
** ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean Stone Ocean]]'': Jolyne and Annasui become a couple in the epilogue, [[spoiler:in the form of their second universal reset counterparts, Irene and Annakiss]].
* Kaguya and Shirogane from ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar'' are already heading this way by the time the story starts, and start dating in chapter 160. Technically they were sort-of already dating beforehand,[[note]]They get together on Christmas Eve in Chapter 150 and are shown dating after winter break in Chapter 152, with 153-161 being a series of {{Whole Episode Flashback}}s[[/note]] but that was the point where the official love confession the series had been building up to took place.
* ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}'': The Creator/KyoAni anime had the NewTransferStudent Yuichi and CuteClumsyGirl Ayu as the canon pairing, [[KissingCousins despite ]] his having [[{{Tsundere}} a few]] [[ActionGirl other options]].
* ''Manga/KazeToKiNoUta'': Serge and Gilbert have some major tension with one another with a good dose of [[WillTheyOrWontThey Will They or Won't They]] mixed in, what with Serge's [[{{Gayngst}} denial of his attraction to Gilbert]] and Gilbert's [[DarkAndTroubledPast troubling past]] and [[ReallyGetsAround promiscuous tendencies]]. They eventually do hook up and admit their love to one another, but, given that they're in 1880 France, it isn't taken too well by everyone else.
* Kimba and Kitty in ''Manga/KimbaTheWhiteLion''. Look, they're the only lion cubs in the whole series. It's pretty obvious that when they grow up, they'll marry and have kids.
* ''Manga/KimiNiTodoke'': Sawako Kuronuma and Shouta Kazehaya. In the anime, it takes almost the entire second season to get them together.
* ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'': Tadano and Komi begin officially dating in Chapter 305 of the manga.
* ''Literature/KonoSuba'': [[spoiler:Kazuma and Megumin]] confess to each other in volume 9 and agree to become a couple in volume 12. They wanted to keep it a secret to not disturb the harmony in the group, but the confession of their friend [[spoiler:Darkness towards Kazuma]] causes a reveal towards everyone else. And though they are still not quite lovers, they regularly cite their loyalty to each other as a reason to not get romantically involved with other people.
* Akira and Koharu of ''Manga/KoharuNoHibi''.
* ''Manga/KotouraSan'' has Haruka and Manabe, who is shipped by everybody in the cast. This is despite Haruka having a case of CannotSpitItOut and has not confessed to Manabe [[spoiler:until the last episode]].
* Ueki Kyousuke and Mori Ai from ''Manga/TheLawOfUeki''. While not explicit in the anime it is made clearer in the manga and becomes fully canon by the end of the sequel series, ''[[OddlyNamedSequel The Law of Ueki Plus]]''.
* Naru and Keitaro in ''Manga/LoveHina'', and by the end only Naru is in denial over this; it helps that Naru is [[AuthorAppeal loosely based on the author's own wife]].
* ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'':
** Chrono and Amy married each other between ''A's'' and ''[=StrikerS=]''.
** [[http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff230/BPHaru3/RND/Fate_chan_is_a_prince_en.jpg Nanoha and Fate]] per WordOfGay.
** ''VisualNovel/TriangleHeart3SweetSongsForever'' has Kyouya and Shinobu as the official couple, as revealed in the OVA and ''Nanoha''.
** While not explicitly said to develop a romantic relationship in ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers'', the ToyShip of Erio and Caro does fit in the sense that, as the trope description states, both are overtly paired off and it seems understood by the cast that the two are an item. And their brief cameo in ''Manga/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaVivid'' has them apparently sharing a flat together in World #61/Supools, and one of the Sound Stages has Caro actually following Erio into the men's side of a public bath to [[BathtubBonding do some bonding]] -- even suggesting that they take more baths together in the future -- much to Erio's sputtered embarrassment.
** It's strongly implied that the minor characters Griffith Lowran and Lucino Lilie have married between ''[[Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikers StrikerS]]'' and ''[[Manga/MagicalRecordLyricalNanohaForce FORCE]]'', as Lucino is introduced with Griffith's surname in the latter season. Their relationship is subtly hinted in the first ''[=StrikerS=]'' opening and in the ''[=StrikerS=]'' epilogue, and Shario noticed that there was more between them in the ''[=StrikerS=]'' supplementary manga.
* ''Anime/{{Macross}}'' is usually good about resolving its love triangles;
** ''Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross'' has Hikaru and Misa, as well as BetaCouple Max and Millia. The latter have separated by the time of ''Anime/Macross7'', but the GrandFinale suggests that they eventually get back together.
** ''Anime/MacrossPlus'' has Isamu and Myung. [[spoiler:Mostly because Guld was KilledOffForReal and GenkiGirl Lucy is nowhere to be found by the end.]]
** ''Anime/MacrossFrontier'' infamously ''does not resolve'' its LoveTriangle in the series. However, the movies confirm that the OfficialCouple is [[spoiler:Alto and Sheryl, with WordOfGod corroborating]]. Also Michael/Klan, [[spoiler: albeit only for a very short time (in the series; in the movies, Michael is thankfully SparedByTheAdaptation).]]
** ''Anime/MacrossDelta'' has Hayate and [[spoiler:Freyja]] confirmed in the final episode (though most of the series had already pointed in their direction to begin with), with ''Absolute Live'' following up on the results of the two getting together for both good and [[MayflyDecemberRomance ill]].
%%** ''Anime/MacrossII'' has [[spoiler: Hibiki and Sylvie]].
%%** ''Anime/MacrossZero'' has Shin/Sara.
* ''Manga/MaidSama'': Chapter 57 establishes [[spoiler:Usui and Misaki]] as an official couple. Even before then, it's obvious to everyone. At the end it's [[spoiler:Hinata and Suzuna]], [[spoiler:Sakura and Kuuga]], [[spoiler:maybe Honoka and Aoi]], [[spoiler:Kurotatsu of the three idiots and Erika]].
* ''Mazinger'':
** ''Anime/MazingerZ'': Kouji and Sayaka, although depending on the alternate continuity, they were this or ImpliedLoveInterest.
** ''Anime/GreatMazinger'': Tetsuya and Jun. Kouji and Sayaka this time were the BetaCouple.
** ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'': Duke and Hikaru, although [[spoiler:Duke and [[FieryRedhead Rubina]] were engaged before the beginning the series.]]
* ''Manga/MidoriDays'': Midori and Seiji. Pretty obvious when the story starts with them becoming ''literally attached'' to each other, which is how they stay for a majority of the 80+ chapter story.
* ''Manga/MyBrideIsAMermaid'': Nagasumi and San. They got "engaged" at the beginning of the series and, [[LoveDodecahedron romantic]] [[UnwantedHarem shenanigans]] aside, they're both committed to the other. So much so that, in one episode, Nagasumi gets upset at himself for even ''thinking'' about meeting with someone who [[LoveLetterLunacy sent him a love letter]] because he already has San, even though he was just going to turn her down (and it was a trick anyway).
* ''Anime/MyHime'' has a few of these: there's [[spoiler:Mai and Yuuichi]] (though they're both in heavy denial), [[spoiler:Akira and Takumi]], and Akane and Kazuya (who are the BetaCouple). [[AllThereInTheManual The artbooks]] also canonize [[spoiler:[[WordOfGay Natsuki and Shizuru]]]].
* ''Manga/MyLoveStory'': Takeo and Yamato become a couple very early on (in the anime, it's the third episode) and about half of the series is about developing their relationship as a dating couple (the other half is about Takeo's bromance with Suna).
* ''Manga/MyMonsterSecret'': Despite the occasional UnwantedHarem element, it's dead obvious from the get-go that Youko and Asahi are going to end up together. It's even clear in-universe; a few other girls confess their love for him, but in every case, they generally don't expect him to return their feelings, and only do it so that he can officially turn them down so they can all move on with their lives. Notably, even the ''author'' realized that there was no point beating around the bush, and gave them a RelationshipUpgrade about halfway through the series, which then shifts its focus onto the effects of the upgrade on the cast.
* ''Anime/MyOtome'' switches things around a bit (thanks in part to SitchSexuality), pairing up Shizuru with Natsuki, Chie with Aoi, and Haruka with Yukino (the last two of which were subtexted heavily in the ''My-[=HiME=]'' anime).
* Jean and Nadia from ''Anime/NadiaTheSecretOfBlueWater'', as well as Electra and Nemo. [[spoiler:The last one finishes as HerHeartWillGoOn, after Neo dies during the GrandFinale and Electra is later shown taking care of their baby.]]
** Also doubling as CrackPairing: [[spoiler:Marie and Sanson.]]
* Here are the official couples in ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** Asuma and Kurenai got married off-screen sometime prior to ''Shippuden'' and were expecting Mirai, [[spoiler:only for Hidan to kill Asuma later]].
** Minato and Kushina hooked up and concieved Naruto after their fated meeting in the form of a RescueRomance. [[spoiler: Too bad [[TakingTheBullet they took a fatal blow from Tobi]], leaving Naruto orphaned as a consequence.]]
** Tsunade used to have a boyfriend named Dan Kato when she was younger. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, [[StarCrossedLovers their romance was cut short]] when Dan bled out during a mission gome wrong.]]
** Konan held romantic feelings with Yahiko [[spoiler:and was devastated when the latter pulled a ThanatosGambit. She would later [[TogetherInDeath join him in the afterlife]] after her final confrontation with Tobi.]]
** [[spoiler:Naruto and Hinata became this after the events of the ''[[Anime/TheLastNarutoTheMovie The Last]]'', complete with a RedStringOfFate in the form of a scarf, a LoveConfession, a BigDamnKiss, and later, a WeddingFinale at the end of ''Shippuden''. And as of the film's SequelHook and ''Anime/{{Boruto}}'', they have two children.]]
** [[spoiler:Sasuke and Sakura got together and concieved Sarada sometime before the sequel took place.]]
** [[spoiler:Shikamaru asked Temari to go out on a date with him at the end of ''Shikamaru Hiden'', which she gladly accepts. And then they started a family later in the novel's epilogue.]]
** [[spoiler:Sai and Ino were in a relationship sometime between the events of ''Shikamaru Hiden'' and ''Konoha Hiden''. They too got married off-screen and have a son later in ''Anime/{{Boruto}}''.]]
** [[spoiler:[[ShipsThatPassInTheNight Chouji and Karui]] are a rare PairTheSpares case. Their romance started in ''Sakura Hiden'' when Choji made excuses so he could go to Kumogakure and visit her. As with his Team 10 teammates, Choji marries Karui (after she went to Konohagakure) and they concieved Chocho off-screen.]]
** [[spoiler:Kiba had an ''immidiate'' strong attraction towards Tamaki after they ran into each each other in the ''Rai no Sho'' manga-omake and became her boyfriend later in ''{{Boruto}}'', to Akamaru's chagrin. And the most hilarious and ironic part of this? Kiba and Tamaki are [[AnimalJingoism heavily associated with dogs and cats]] respectively.]]
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'' has [[spoiler:Nagi/Arika]] in the backstory. As of the epilogue, there's Kotaro/Natsumi and Konoka/Setsuna ([[HideYourLesbians although the latter is confirmed indirectly]]). Negi also ended up with [[spoiler:Chisame]], but this is only confirmed in sequel series ''Manga/UQHolder'' ([[spoiler:and he only fell in love with her in ''Negima's'' final timeline).]]
* ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'':
** Gendo/Yui is official in all versions of ''Evangelion'' (original or otherwise)
** In the original series, Misato and Kaji count. Hikari and Toji come extremely close, being something of a BetaCouple, and ends on a strong possibility of a happy outcome. Shinji himself gets extremely strong Ship Tease with Rei, Asuka, and Kaworu, but never quite enters a relationship with any of them.
** In several of the Evangelion video games it becomes possible to romance Rei, Asuka, Kaworu, and even several other original characters. In ''Manga/NeonGenesisEvangelionAngelicDays'', Shinji/Asuka and Hikari/Touji become official couples.
* Nezumi and Shion of ''Literature/No6'' are confirmed by the end.
* ''Literature/OthersidePicnic'' has a yuri example between [[spoiler:Sorawo and Toriko, who had a LoveConfession at the end of Volume 3. Volume 8 is where they become a couple at the end, of which the entire volume itself focuses on Sorawo's struggles with Toriko's feelings.]]
* ''Manga/{{Ojojojo}}'': Haru and Tsurezure hook up fairly early on (chapter 14). A cameo in ''Manga/KomorisanCantDecline'' implies that they got married after dating for four years (which was later confirmed when ''Ojojojo'' ended).
* The only Official Couples in ''Manga/OnePiece'' are minor couples who are married and even so, majority of the couples have one spouse either [[ParentalAbandonment missing or dead]]. Some examples are Usopp's parents (mom dead, father a pirate) and Vivi's parents (mom dead, father still alive [[spoiler:until chapter 1084]]), Princess Shirahoshi's parents (mom dead, father alive), Rebecca's parents (mom dead, father alive) and Sanji's parents (mom dead, father alive). In [[spoiler:Gol. D Roger and Rouge]]'s case, they are TogetherInDeath. The sole exception seems to be Silvers Rayleigh and Shakuyaku, who are confirmed to be married in suplemental material.
* ''Manga/OtomeYoukaiZakuro'', spoiled from the start by both the opening and ending credits - Kei/Zakuro, Riken/Susukihotaru, Ganryuu/Bonbori&Hozuki.
* ''Manga/OuranHighSchoolHostClub'': Chapter 81 of the manga confirms that the official couple is [[spoiler:Tamaki and Haruhi]]. The anime, on the other hand, left things wide open for any shipping to possibly happen, particularly since Haruhi had had several meaningful moments with the twins, Kyouya, and Tamaki.
* ''Manga/PandoraHearts'':
** [[spoiler:Sharon and Reim]] get married in the epilogue.
** Ada and [[spoiler:Vincent]] were one of these for much of the manga [[spoiler:until the latter decided to end their relationship in the epilogue]] due to drastically differing lifespans and philosophies. In the epilogue it is also implied [[spoiler:Ada ended up marrying some other man]], albeit ''extremely'' vaguely. And there is also the incredibly ambiguous implication that [[spoiler:she never got over Vincent]].
* Asahi and Tamaki from ''Manga/PhantomDream'' end up getting married two years after the main story.
%%* Maron and Chiaki in ''Manga/PhantomThiefJeanne''.
* ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'':
** Alice and Tonio from ''Anime/PokemonTheRiseOfDarkrai''
** Ruby and Sapphire from ''Manga/PokemonAdventures''.
** Jessie and James in the ''Manga/TheElectricTaleOfPikachu'' manga.
* [[spoiler:Mytho and Rue]] get together in the very last episode of ''Anime/PrincessTutu''. [[spoiler:Ahiru and Fakir]] have also become official by then, but it ends [[StarCrossedLovers less happily]] for them.
* ''Manga/{{Psyren}}'': The two protagonists, Ageha and Sakurako.
* ''Manga/TheQuintessentialQuintuplets'': The first chapter shows a FlashForward revealing that Fuutarou will marry one of the five Nakano sisters. [[spoiler:Said sister is Yotsuba, the fourth one, to whom he confesses in Chapter 113]].
%%* ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' has Ranma and Akane and Ryoga and Akari.
* Sakuta Azusagawa and Mai Sakurajima in ''Literature/RascalDoesNotDreamOfBunnyGirlSenpai''. It's made clear that no other girl will be able to interfere with this and even his first love wouldn't be able to get in the way of their relationship.
%%* ''Manga/RaveMaster'': Let and Julia. Elie and Haru, too.
* ''Manga/Reborn2004'': In the future, Ryohei and Hana are a canon couple.
** There is also Colonnello and Lal who planned on getting married, but of course [[BelligerentSexualTension they get into a fight and decided to postpone it.]]
%%* ''Roleplay/RecordOfLodossWar'': Parn and Deedlit.
* ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'': Moka and Tsukune. Despite the rest of the of the UnwantedHarem being legitimately major characters, it was never really a question of who Tsukune loves. The only uncertainly was [[SplitPersonality which Moka]]? [[spoiler:At first this also seemed obvious, that the sweet and innocent Outer Moka was the love interest. Then Inner Moka started [[DefrostingIceQueen defrosting]], and Outer Moka seemingly died. In the end it turned out that the answer was [[SplitPersonalityMerge both]].]]
* ''Manga/RurouniKenshin'': Kenshin and Kaoru. [[spoiler:Marriage and a child in the epilogue: it doesn't get more official than this.]]
* ''Franchise/SailorMoon'':
** Not even death was able to come between Usagi and Mamoru (Sailor Moon/Princess Serenity and Tuxedo Mask/Prince Endymion).
** Haruka (Sailor Uranus) and Michiru (Sailor Neptune).
** Usagi's school friends Naru and Umino eventually get together.
** Kunzite and Zoisite in the [[Manga/SailorMoon first anime]] version.
** Luna and Artemis.
** While only subtly hinted at in the manga, the Senshi/Shitennou were official in [[Anime/SailorMoonCrystal Sailor Moon Crystal]] version.
* ''Manga/SamuraiDeeperKyo'': Kyo and Yuya ''finally'' get together at the very end. There's also Kyoshiro and Sakuya and (in the anime) Benitora and Mahiro. You could also count Fubuki and Hitoki, but she is a PosthumousCharacter.
* ''Manga/SandChronicles'': Ann and Daigo. [[spoiler:Then they break up for a nearly good 10 years, but get back together afterward.]]
* ''Anime/ScienceNinjaTeamGatchaman'': Ken and Jun (or Mark and Princess, if you go for the American DubNameChange), TheHero and TheHeart finally ended up together. It only took three series and a LoveTriangle with Joe (or Jason), TheLancer (pretty funny, Jun was supposed to be TheLancer when the series was being made).
* ''Manga/SeraphOfTheEnd'': For a short time, [[spoiler:Guren and Mahiru in the light novels]].
* ''Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins'' loves this trope, with many characters either being hooked up, or being [[ShipTease immensely teased together]]. In the case of the Sins themselves...
** Meliodas, the main character, seems to be very affectionate towards Princess Elizabeth, to the point of being incredibly handsy. But theirs is a rather complicated example. [[spoiler:3,000 years ago, they were an official couple long ago during the first Holy War, in a case of LoveRedeems as Mel and Ellie fell for each other despite the Goddess and Demon clans waging war. But they provoked the ire of their respective parents; the [[SatanicArchetype Demon King]] and the [[DemiurgeArchetype Supreme Deity]] killed them both, then placed respective curses on them. Meliodas was cursed with immortality, while Elizabeth was cursed to die and reincarnate every time she remembered her past life as a Goddess, always winding up dead in Meliodas' presence. Meliodas spends 3,000 years trying to break his and Ellie's curses, and when they finally do, they [[EarnYourHappyEnding earn their happy ending]] [[HappilyMarried and marry]], becoming king and queen of Liones.]]
** Fairy King Harlequin and Diane are another case of two characters having a complicated past involving romance. [[spoiler:They were [[ChildhoodFriendRomance childhood friends]], but King ultimately had to leave her and erase her memory of him. When they reunite, Diane's affections stray towards Meliodas, but a string of memory-related tampering causes her memories of King to resurface eventually. When they do, Diane gives him a BigDamnKiss (''literally,'' since [[TinyGuyHugeGirl Diane is a Giant, and King is a Fairy no bigger than a 10-year-old]]) that literally makes him faint. When he regains consciousness, [[LoveConfession he properly confesses his love for her, and she him]]. They are also married by the end of the series.]]
** Ban falls for King's sister, the Fairy Elaine, as is revealed in a flashback where Ban came for the FountainOfYouth that Elaine guards. [[spoiler:Sadly, tragic circumstances resulted in Elaine being killed by a Demon, and Ban becoming immortal himself through said fountain of youth, which was given to him by Elaine. He spends a great deal of time trying to bring her back from the dead, and when she temporarily CameBackWrong, he devotes his time to ensuring she can survive further than the allotted time she has left. It ultimately costs him his immortality, but [[WhoWantsToLiveForever Ban would prefer to spend his remaining days with Elaine, anyhow.]] They end up settling down as well.]]
** [[spoiler:There is also the tragic case of Gowther and Nadja; while they did become a couple, it was Nadja's last night alive when they did (due to an ailment of the heart), and they only had enough time together for TheirFirstTime before Nadja's heart gave out. Made even more tragic when Gowther tried to revive her, and his... rather messy attempt to save her [[NotWhatItLooksLike only ended in him being arrested and accused of raping and murdering Nadja]].]]
** [[spoiler:And then averted in the case of Escanor and Merlin. When Escanor's Sunshine causes him to experience a HeroicRROD after the FinalBattle, he gives a DyingDeclarationOfLove to Merlin before he burns to ash. Merlin, however, ultimately reciprocates his feelings and [[NowOrNeverKiss kisses him before he dies]], letting herself be scarred on the chin by his flames as a testament to his existence.]]
** Outside of the Sins, there is Sir Gilthunder and Princess Margaret, Elizabeth's sister. [[spoiler:Also, Meliodas' brother Zeldris is involved with Gelda, a Vampire.]]
* ''Manga/ShamanKing'': Faust and Elisa who are HappilyMarried even though Elisa is dead [[spoiler:Faust will join her as a ghost eventually]], as well as Yoh and Anna. In the epilogue, it was heavily implied that [[spoiler:Ren and Jeanne]] had a child together.
* ''Manga/ShimejiSimulation'': An AgeGapRomance and a TeacherStudentRomance variant between [[spoiler:Mr. Takahashi and Yoshiko]]. The circumstances regarding their relationship was vague, [[spoiler:but Chapter 40 shows their LoveConfession, showing that they have been romantically involved for some time. Chapter 41 leads to an, albeit bizarre-looking, marriage ceremony between both of them]].
* ''VisualNovel/{{Shuffle}}'': In the anime, Rin ends up with [[spoiler:his senpai Asa]]. Watching the [[RecapEpisode recap season]] ''Memories'' makes it more clear why he chose her.
* ''Literature/{{Slayers}}'': The anime adaptation more or less cemented Lina and Gourry as an official pair since the end of season 2 [[spoiler:when they share a kiss in another dimension.]] This was carried on to the original novels, where at the end, Lina expresses hope Gourry will marry her.
* The official couples in ''Manga/SoulEater'' are Kim/Ox and [[spoiler:Marie/Stein, who are having a baby together]].
* ''Literature/{{Sukisho}}'' has Sora and Sunao (or Yoru and Ran) and [[BetaCouple Nanami and Shinichirou]].
* PlayedWith in ''Anime/SummerWars''. [[NiceGuy Kenji]] does have a crush on [[DudeMagnet Natsuki]], but Natsuki doesn't return it and only forces Kenji to pretend to be her boyfriend during her grandmother's ninetieth birthday. [[spoiler:By the end of the film, the relationship the two share is certainly not pretend.]]
* Bowie and Musica in ''Anime/SuperDimensionCavalrySouthernCross''. to make it obvious, in the title opening they hold hands and fly together.
* ''Literature/SwordArtOnline'': Kirito and Asuna, who actually get married in-game before the end of the first arc, with them continuing to date in the real world. This doesn't prevent each subsequent arc from introducing [[SupportingHarem more and more girls who fall for Kirito, though]].
* ''Anime/{{Symphogear}}'' has Hibiki and Miku end up together after the GrandFinale, as revealed in ''Symphogear XD Unlimited''.
* Ran and Rui from ''Anime/TelepathyShoujoRan'' are a couple, and even the tinges of PseudoRomanticFriendship between Ran and Midori can't put any dents in that.
* ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'': Simon and Nia, who were quite obvious even before [[spoiler:the time-skip]]. To a lesser extent, Kamina and Yoko also are marked as such in other media or merchandise.
%%* Akari and Hiroyuki from ''VisualNovel/ToHeart''.
* Taiga and Ryuji from ''Literature/{{Toradora}}''. Kinda obvious from the series' name... ("Tora" = Tiger = Taiga, "Dora"gon = Dragon(Ryƫ) = Ryuji)
* ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'': [[spoiler:Toriko and Rin got married.]]
* ''Manga/UzakiChanWantsToHangOut'': Sakurai and Uzaki start dating officially in [[spoiler:Chapter 73]]. Their LoveConfession actually happened the previous chapter, when Sakurai [[DidIJustSayThatOutLoud accidentally says to Uzaki that he loves her]], and while she's flustered at first, she happily accepts to be his girlfriend.
* ''Manga/{{Wagnaria}}'': the first official couple is Oto-san and his wife Haruna, who he is searching for. The serie end with Souta and Inami becoming a couple, after she finally manage to overcome her [[DoesNotLikeMen androphobia]] and no longer [[AmusingInjuries punch]] [[DoubleStandardAbuseFemaleOnMale him]]. Yachiyo finally learn of and reciprocate Jun's feelings, and the Takanashi family's elder sister Kazue get back with her ex-husband Minegishi.
* Kiba and Cheza in ''Anime/WolfsRain''.
* ''Manga/YandereKanojo'': The main selling point is the misadventures of the main couple, [[JapaneseDelinquents Reina]] and [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Manabu]]. There are also paired minor characters like [[PitbullDatesPuppy Reina's parents]] and [[UglyGuyHotWife The Principal and his wife]].
* ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'': Coco and Nozomi. Really the only 100% official pairing within the rather large ''Anime/PrettyCure'' franchise thus far. Every season has at least one highly probable pairing, some of which are basically accepted as canon. But Coco and Nozomi are the only pairing [[spoiler:to have kissed, and Nozomi stated that she loved him in the final episode of the first season]], among many other lovey-dovey things that certainly didn't happen with other (potential) pairings.
* Though it presents itself rather like a harem, and the series is filled with {{Love Triangle}}s, ''Manga/YonaOfTheDawn'' has Hak and titular Yona as the official couple. In truth, the "harem" ends up functioning more as a found-family, and Hak's unrequited feelings do ''eventually'' become very requited.
* ''Anime/YuGiOhArcV'': It is very, ''very'' heavily implied that Yuto and Ruri/Lulu were dating before she was kidnapped, which is outright confirmed in ''VideoGame/YuGiOhDuelLinks''. In the show, while their relationship is mostly shown in silent flashbacks, they would often find quiet spots in cafes and parks and were very affectionate towards each other. It's also heavily implied - and again confirmed by ''Duel Links'' - that Ruri's older brother Shun/Shay is perfectly aware of the relationship, in spite of Yuto's completely unsuccessful attempts at hiding it.
* ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'':
** The ending of season 3 cements Jaden and Yubel, the franchise's only LGBT couple to date. [[note]]Yubel is an intersex Duel Monster, implying Jaden may be pansexual, and even InUniverse characters noted there was something off with Jaden's sexuality.[[/note]]
** In Season 3, there's Adrian and Echo. However, while Echo's feelings are very strong, Adrian believes that [[spoiler:achieving power is more important than Echo and he sacrifices her.]]
* ''Anime/YuriOnIce'' has [[spoiler:Yuri and Victor, who kiss in episode 7]]. As of episode 10, [[spoiler:they are engaged]].
* Yusuke and Keiko, Sensui and Itsuki in ''Manga/YuYuHakusho''. [[WordOfGod Yoshihiro Togashi]] originally did plan for Hiei and [[spoiler:Mukuro]] to be an official item as well, but severe fan backlash prevented him from doing so (although the anime implies it in contrast to the manga). In the first drafts of the series, Hiei and Kurama were supposed to be in a romantic relationship but [[WordOfGod Yoshihiro Togashi]] decided to leave them as close friends which would explain all the HoYay between them.
* ''Manga/TeasingMasterTakagiSan'' has Nishikata and the eponymous Takagi. While Nishikata spends a big part of the series trying to outsmart Takagi in any prank (only to be outsmarted instead by her), and resorts to all kinds of SuspiciouslySpecificDenial and SheIsNotMyGirlfriend answers when he's told by someone that he likes Takagi, it is made clear that they really care about each other. And as revealed in a TimeSkip chapter in the manga, they will eventually marry and conceive a daughter.
