1* Music/TheJesusLizard have lyrics that often graphically describe scenes of torture or depravity, though sometimes they'll cross over into BlackHumor. "Puss" can be considered particularly creepy: the narrator has an abducted woman in his truck, whom he is ForceFeeding alcohol ("Shove more bourbon down her mouth hole!") and whom he plans to rape (or at very least beat up) in his basement ("Knock her down the stairwell and kick her, I think you can take her", "Cause she's the one who needs a nailing"). What adds to it is a somewhat disorienting use of SelfBackingVocalist - there's a clean David Yow vocal in the right speaker and a distorted one on the left, and they're not always singing the same thing at the same time. The way the vocals are produced, coupled with the fact that the lyrics keep switching from first person to second person, could also suggest the narrator is HearingVoices.
2* "Mailman" stands out for being a subtler depiction of dangerous psychopaths than is usual for the band: It's from the point of view of a woman who has been receiving creepy, obscene letters from a StalkerWithACrush, and David Yow sings the verses in an uncharacteristically hushed, intelligible manner, saving his trademark screaming for the chorus, which seems to be the narrator's SurvivalMantra ("He can't see me! He cannot hear me! He can't smell or touch me!").
