6	* A lot of stuff in this movie is going to seriously {{Squick}} out [[TerrifiedOfGerms germophobes]] with the high BodyHorror quotient inherent in the premise. The best part? Necrotizing fasciitis, while extremely rare, is ''absolutely real''. Sweet dreams, kids. It's actually implied to be [=STD=]s or syphilis in the first film, which causes ulcerated sores to melt your face off just because you went bareback. However, it's less contagious.
7	* Paul {{Mercy Kill}}ing Karen with a shovel. Most of the flesh on Karen's face is ''gone'', making her look downright ghoulish. Then there's the NightmareSequence Paul suffers where he dreams of Karen before the infection, almost kissing her when the aforementioned NightmareFace suddenly pops up, complete with a chilling ScareChord.
8	* The first movie shows why you should never shave with a flesh-eating virus. Graphically.
9	* Paul coming across [[LudicrousGibs all that remains]] of Marcy, who has been ''[[EatenAlive shredded to pieces]]'' by Dr. Mambo. And then he discovers the still-hungry dog munching on Karen!
10	* Even the ''opening credits'' are unnerving, showing what looks like a white sheet that becomes dirty over time before becoming bloodied, complete with an eerie tune with the ambiance of ''flies'' swarming nonstop.

16	* When Winston is at a restaurant having pancakes, a worker from the Down Home Water company starts choking and falls down. When his shirt is open, it shows his skin peeled off, and blood starts spraying out of his throat device and splatters everywhere! Luckily, Winston made it out uninfected.
17	* In the unrated cut, when John and Alex are checking if they’re infected in the bathroom, Alex finds out his penis is infected and begins to almost rot off in a horrific mix of [[NauseaFuel blood and semen!]]
18	* The mass deaths at the prom, which rivals ''Film/Carrie1976'' in both its body count and its overall brutality.
19	* The ending animation sequence could count for this despite being slightly comedic:
20	** In the first shot, you see the guy Liz vomited on at her shift going into work and getting a handful of candy from a bowl at the reception’s desk on his way in, and the tip of his finger is sitting there showing that his co-workers will get it as will any families they have by the end of the day.
21	** The second shot shows the two Spanish guys at the same club going back to the Mexico border, where one stops upon noticing his infection and screams in horror while his friend keeps walking
22	** The third shot of the sequence has the guy in the first shot’s friend driving to New Orleans, using the bathroom in a cup he’s drinking out of, and throwing it at a couple behind him that are heading to New Orleans. To make the whole thing worse, Mardi Gras is within a day, so New Orleans will likely have the infection death count the worst.
23	** The fourth and final shot of the scene shows Liz returning home from her shift. She gives the taxi driver a dollar bill that is likely infected and then stumbles upstairs where she crawls into her bed to sleep and possibly die. Although some comedy is found in this bit where she is thinking to herself that she should have gone to prom instead

Two hot babes, both of which are in the later stages of a flesh-eating virus, tearing each other apart on the beach, culminating in one caving the other's face in? Far, far from anything resembling hot.
