Whether it's the anime, VN, or manga, even Umineko can unfortunately have a few [[{{Narm}} unintentionally hilarious]] moments. Most examples are from the anime.

%% * One scene in ''VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry'' was, in the original game, incredibly tense. After all sorts of murders have taken place and the remaining characters have found and locked themselves into what they think is a safe haven, [[spoiler:they receive another letter from "Beatrice" and, to protect the apparently innocent characters' safety, shove the four who were near the table where the letter appeared out the door]]. But the anime has a giant [[RunningGag mackerel can]] staring you in the face next to the letter for most of the scene.
%% * The demonic witch familiars who can kill without fail take the form of... girls and bunny-girls wearing [[{{Fanservice}} fanserving outfits]] and goat-head OneHitPointWonder butler soldiers. [[MoodWhiplash What the?]]
%% * There's also Beatrice's line, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIJRAcVf5tY IT'S]] [[GratuitousEnglish PARFEKKTO!]]"
%% * In the original visual novel and the manga, Eva-Beatrice's ways of torturing Rosa and Maria are utterly horrifying. In the anime, they're comical. The ocean of jelly is replaced by a giant gelatin flan plopping onto them, and rather than getting crushed by gradually piling layers of cake, a giant cake just falls from the sky with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EVA-BEATRICE!" written on it. The bit with the spider is excised entirely. All of this makes Battler's subsequent ThisIsUnforgivable reaction laughable.
%% * The narm moments aren't exclusive to the anime. Many scenes where characters are killed off and where they find bodies are corny as hell in the {{visual novel}} as well. Also: Kinzo. Just...Kinzo.
%% ---> "[[LargeHam BEATORIIICEEEEE!!!]]"
* The anime's ending theme is a textbook case of drama ruined by {{Engrish}}. It starts out with ominous chanting and foreboding lyrics. Then Kinzo starts laughing, which damages the drama but doesn't break it. But ''then'' comes Jimang's strained and awkward {{Engrish}}, crooning lines like "OH DESIRE", "OH MY PRAYER", and "SACRIFICE SHEEP TO A GOD". You can't help laughing at that.
* In EP 7 of the manga, [[spoiler:the expression on Ange's face as she's having her FreakOut screaming over the truth of what befell her family 12 years ago being confirmed in red, while bleeding and starting to break apart into scrap meat. You feel like when Bernkastel mockingly says "What a lovely expression, one that'll keep me laughing for about a hundred years!", you should not be inclined to ''agree with her.'']]
%% * The [[http://umineko.wikia.com/wiki/File:Battler.jpg VN's character designs]] are hard to take seriously, especially compared to [[http://umineko.wikia.com/wiki/File:Battler_mugshot.jpg the anime.]]
* Any time crying is written out has a strong chance of being this.
%% ** In the first arc. Natsuhi is getting a cruel verbal smackdown from Eva, and then "Waaa-AAAAAAA-aa-AAAAAA-h".
%% ** In The Fourth arc of the VN, as Rosa admits [[spoiler:she hates Maria: "I hate you, loathe you...!!! And until now, I've never really loved you even once!!! Whhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!"]]
** The huge TearJerker of a scene where [[spoiler: Ange breaks down and denies the Stakes, Maria and Sakutaro, killing them as a side effect]] is ruined in the manga when [[spoiler:her "closest friend" Mammon]]'s last words are "Your first and last FRIEEEEEEND!". What kills it is the extremely long "frieeeeeeeeeend!"; when the scalators have to break it into ''paragraphs'' due to how exaggerated it is, you know it's not gonna work as dramatically as it should have.
%% * Rosa's reaction to Maria making Sakutaro 'talk' is hilarious... it looks like she's having a seizure.
* Rosa tearing Sakutaro apart is meant to be horrible and tragic, and it is...but in the manga, it's followed by Rosa declaring "SAKUTARO IS DEAD." with a deadpan looking expression ''while shoving Sakutaro's severed head right in Maria's face'', turning it into a moment that CrossesTheLineTwice.
%% * In Ep 6, after Battler allows Erika to use her seals [[spoiler:after being [[BatmanGambit "tricked"]] by her and witches]], she strikes a pose and declares [[LargeHam "......... I... Furudo Erika......... have duct tape...!!"]]
%% ** Speaking of Erika, many scenes with her are made unintentionally hilarious with the addition of voice acting. "DEMO DAMEEEEEE, WEHWEHWEHWEHWEHWEEEEH!"
* To one of Battler's arguments in EP 3, Beatrice reacts with [[ThisCannotBe shock]], while Renove claims he has learned the Multi-layered Worlds Reduction Technique from Virgilia. All he said is that he simply can't trust that the magic battle he was shown really happened, which isn't an unreasonable use of logic.
* The infamous "small bombs" defense in EP 4. While it's not technically impossible to make some sort of device that bursts the stomach open from inside, thus getting the argument accepted, it'd be quite an endlessly sophisticated device to damage the front of the stomach only. But the best part is Battler wrapping it up with "I refuse to explain!" It's treated with mockery, both in and out of universe.
