Saurom, previously named Saurom Lamderth, is a Spanish FolkMetal band formed in 1996. It is known for his trademark "juglar metal" style, a highly lyrical mixture of Celtic music, {{Rock}}, romance and poetry with a big focus on fantasy literature and folklore. As you can see in its name, it used to draw a lot from Creator/JRRTolkien's ''Literature/TheLordOfTheRings'', although they have diversified in recent times.

The band was born after the breakup of another band named RHF. Its first few years were spent in the regional circuit, recording demos in which it would be later the band's signature style. Out of the four original founders, only Antonio Ruiz and Narci remain, the other two departing just before the band's debut album, ''El guardián de las melodías perdidas'', which became their national breakup. However, its true establishing point came when health problems forced Narci to step down from the singer role and seek a replacement, Migue, whose heartbroken, resonant voice became the soul of Saurom onwards. From there, they have gone to release many other albums, expanding their reach to Latin America and solidifying further their place in the Spanish folk metal community.

!!This band contains examples of:
* BraggingThemeTune: "La leyenda de Gambrinus" goes about a jolly devil, Pedro Botero, boasting about his nature and his deals.
* CannotSpitItOut: "El Beso" is the last will of a man who never managed to confess to his love.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: The narrator of "Noche de Halloween" comes to a point in which he describes vampires clearly coming to get him, which he interprets as them coming to greet him instead. The videoclip features Miguel being carried away from the party's monsters, though not at that point.
* DealWithTheDevil: The character of Botero offers the listener a deal, namely his soul in exchange for supernatural ability for dancing, singing and enjoying life.
* EarthSong: "Cambia el mundo" talks about how the Earth bleeds due to human action and must be defended.
* GriefSong: Being a band with a penchant for romance and such, they have a few of those. "Náufrago" is a particularly heartbreaking example.
* HomesicknessHymn: "Íntimos Recuerdos" is a turn on this, as it's doesn't refer to a physical place, but memories, being sung by a character implied to have Alzheimer's disease.
* LoveIsADrug: The aptly named "El Elixir" describes how his love has made him miserable, and yet he cannot dispose of it (or her).
* MoralityBallad: "Paz" starts off the gate stating to be an anthem of peace.
* NatureMetal: Some songs, such as "Cambia el mundo" and "Amanecer", have an ecologist theme.
* NonIndicativeName: The title of "El queso rodante" is a reference to the Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake, which is portrayed also in the music video, but the song itself doesn't explicitly refer to this, but to an unspecified competition that sounds more like fighting.
* PepTalkSong: "Noche de Halloween" addresses a sad listener that needs some partying.
* SettingOffSong: "El queso rodante" is an adventurous song about setting off to adventure.
* ShoutOut:
** To Sauron, evidently, although ironically their songs are rarely evil or villainous.
** The [[https://i.ytimg.com/vi/rFLo1kyjPHU/maxresdefault.jpg cover]] of their 2020 single ''Música'' seems obviously based on the main [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/darling-in-the-franxx/images/8/8c/Kv01.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20180301205515&path-prefix=es poster]] of 2018 anime series ''Anime/DarlingInTheFranxx''.
** ''Música'''s animated music video contains also a female embodiment of music that reminds strongly of Sakuyamon's design from ''Anime/DigimonTamers''.
* SurprisinglyGentleSong: Given that they can go from your typical merry folk metal to raw LoveHurts songs, the contrast is usual.
* TrainSong: "Íntimos Recuerdos" has the disheartened singer stating that she has been in a train for eighty years.
* WhenImGoneSong: The singer in "Náufrago" is close to a metaphoric death, perhaps suicide by hopelessness, and is questioning all of his life and love.
