31* Music/FrankZappa named Dolphy one of his influences in the liner notes of ''Music/FreakOut'' (1966). His composition "The Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue" on ''Music/WeaselsRippedMyFlesh'' (1970) and ''Music/TheBestBandYouNeverHeardInYourLife'' (1991) is a {{Homage}}. The album cover of Zappa's ''Music/BurntWeenySandwich'' was originally intended for a posthumous release of Eric Dolphy music.
32* Oliver Lake recorded two tribute albums, "Prophet" and "Dedicated To Dolphy".
