''Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs'' (ゆらぎ荘の幽奈さん ''Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san'') is a manga created by Tadahiro Miura, and is considered by many to be the SpiritualSuccessor of ''Manga/ToLoveRu''. It ran in [[Magazine/ShonenJump Weekly Shonen Jump]] from 2016 to 2020.

An animated adaptation debuted in the Summer 2018 season, and it has been licensed by Creator/AniplexUSA and streamed on Website/{{Crunchyroll}}. It is notably the last series produced by Creator/{{Xebec}} before their absorption into Creator/{{Sunrise}}.

Kogarashi Fuyuzora has spirit abilities and has been possessed by ghosts since he was a kid. This has caused a lot of trouble in his life, but now he has learned to fight back against the evil spirits! Unfortunately, he's now also very poor, homeless, and [[IJustWantToBeNormal hoping for a happier, more normal]], high school life.

In his search for housing, he's introduced to a very cheap boarding house called Yuragi-sou, which was formerly a popular hot springs inn. It's so cheap because the house is haunted by the spirit of a high school student whose corpse was found there. Kogarashi doesn't think this is going to be a problem for him, and the rest of the house's tenants appear to be sexy women.

While relaxing in the hot springs, though, he finds there is an issue with his ghost-banishing plan; Yuragi-sou's ghost is a 16-year-old girl named Yuna, who lives in his room. Kogarashi [[WouldntHitAGirl has no desire to hurt a ghost girl]], and instead he ends up agreeing to help her to figure out her unfinished business. That way, she can move onto the afterlife before turning evil and falling into hell. Once it is clear that he is fine with Yuna, the other tenants reveal their own supernatural secrets -- his life in Yuragi-sou is going to be far from ordinary!

!!Provides examples of:

* AccidentalKiss: In Oboro's dream reality in the final arc, Oboro trips over and falls in lip lock with Kogarashi.
* AccidentalPervert: Kogarashi frequently ends up in these positions. Usually, they are Yuuna's fault; she is a very restless sleeper and tends to lose control of her telekinetic powers.
* AlmostKiss: Kogarashi was close to locking lips with Renge and Karura. The former was possessed by a spirit animal while the latter tried to force him using a binding shirishiki curse.
* AmazonBrigade: The Demon Slaying Ninjas are all women.
* BattleHarem: All the girls who love Kogarashi are capable fighters, except for [[GirlNextDoor Chisaki]]. Several of the girls become even more powerful as the manga goes on.
* BeachEpisode: Chapter 24, the start of the Seaside school arc.
* TheBigDamnKiss: In the final arc, all of Kogarashi's UnwantedHarem get beautifully drawn kissing scenes with him [[spoiler:inside their dreams of timelines where each one becomes Kogarashi's lover]].
* BirthdayEpisode:
** Chapter 57 has everyone celebrating Kogarashi's birthday at the hot springs until they're interrupted by Karura, the daughter of Kogarashi's former enemy.
** Chapter 181 is about Yuuna's first birthday party celebrated by all her friends at Yuragi Inn.
* BoyMeetsGhoul: The series begins with the spirit medium Kogarashi meeting the CuteGhostGirl Yuuna and he decides he'll help her pass on before she becomes an evil spirit. Over time, the two fall in love, but Yuuna is insecure if that's even allowed because she's already dead.
* BreastExpansion: In chapter 150, due to some food sent by the landlady from her trips: Miria, Matora, Yaya, Chitose, Koyozu and Nonko had their breasts expand to ridiculous levels.
* BrickJoke: In Chapter 2 the monks were given good luck by Chitose Nakai, in chapter 19 one of Chitose's middle school friends mentions that one of her favorite celebrity in the ''Johnny's'' was once a monk.
* CatGirl: Yaya becomes one when the cat god possesses her body. The rest of the time she is just a normal girl with a cat-like personality. Who frequently wears a cat ears hoodie.
* CensorSteam: Used frequently, especially given most of the anime takes place in a former hot springs inn.
* CharacterNameAndTheNounPhrase: The English title of the series is ''Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs''.
* CharacterTitle: The series is named after the CuteGhostGirl named Yuuna who is Kogarashi's roommate at Yuragi Inn and most prominent love interest.
* ChocolateOfRomance: Kogarashi receives chocolates from all his suitors and female friends in the ValentinesDayEpisode.
* ChristmasEpisode: Chapter 55 starts with the Christmas celebration at Yuragi Inn. It ends with everyone naked in a pool of Christmas cream because of a present from the Landlady.
* ClothingDamage:
** Happens to Yuuna in chapter 1 when a priest decides to exorcise her.
** Chapter 6 involves a spirit that eats the clothes of couples in a park. The trope ensues as Sagiri and Kogarashi barely escape its clutches.
* CompanyCrossReferences: Soma and Megumi from ''Manga/FoodWars'', another Jump series, appear among the students as Kogarashi is making crepes for one of the classes at the SchoolFestival in Chapter 43. Erina and Hisako from said series are also seen in the chapter watching a performance at the festival.
* CuteGhostGirl: Yuuna Yunohana, the titular character who is bound to Yuragi-sou until her lingering regret has been dealt with.
* CuteMonsterGirl: Comprises over half the main cast. Until Kogarashi moved in Sagiri was the only human at Yuragi-sou.
* DanceOfRomance: In Chapter 26/Episode 11, Kogarashi asks Yuuna for a dance with him at the night of the ClassTrip to the beach. It's made even sweeter because most of the students can't see Yuuna, but Kogarashi doesn't care what they think because all he wants is dancing with Yuuna.
* DarkHorseVictory: During the Magical Water Gun contest, Yaya and Shion, who were ignored by everyone else, win after all the other girls eliminate themselves.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Every major girl has at one chapter dedicated to them.
* {{Ecchi}}: There are a lot of scenes that have the girls very under-clothed or in compromising situations. Of course, the series takes place in a hot springs inn; there are nude scenes. The tankobon run is uncensored and not shy about nipples.
* EroticEating: The way Nonko eats a popsicle while wearing a micro bikini is very suggestive.
* FictionalVideoGame: In Chapter 79, "Super Strategy! The Cursed Game", the computer RPG ''Desire Quest'' is a game created by an amateur game maker who died before the game was released to the public. Desiring players, the game appeared on download sites, [[TheGamePlaysYou entrapping players]] in the game world, whereby one must [[WinToExit win to leave the game]].
* ForcefulKiss: The dream realities of the final arc have Kogarashi getting a surprise kiss from all the girls in his UnwantedHarem. In Sagiri's case, Kogarashi was the one who initiated the kiss, though.
* FountainOfYouth: The landlady's collection has a water of the fountain of youth that makes those who get splashed with it turn younger in body and mind. Kogarashi turns into a child because of it in one chapter. Later on, Nadare Tenko uses the same water to make everyone in the main cast younger.
* FourIsDeath: Kogarashi's room in the Yuragi Inn is #4. Yuuna, the ghost girl's room is/was the room she had when she was alive.
* GenderBender: Chapter 172 has Yuuna turn into a muscular moustached man thanks to a "Hero Transformation" talisman Koyuzu uses on her. At the end of the chapter, the same thing happens to the other girls.
** During the final battle, Koyuzu uses the same talisman to transform both herself and Miria into muscular men in order to fight Jounosuke.
** In Chapter 192, Genshiro, Shakuhito and Nadare transform themselves into girls for a contest to see who can get the most points at the SchoolFestival.
* GroupPictureEnding: The last panel of the final chapter is a group picture of the main cast and their friends [[spoiler:celebrating Kogarashi and Yuuna's wedding]].
* HalloweenEpisode: Chapter 39 features a Halloween party at Yuragi Inn with everyone wearing monster costumes.
* HaremGenre: Kogarashi is the only male occupant in the Yuragi Inn. A lot of the female occupants have some interest in him.
* {{Hatsuyume}}: The New Year 2019 Special chapter starring the succubus teacher Yumesaki has the Mt. Fuji, a hawk, and eggplants appearing in her first dream of the year. Then, {{Ecchi}} kicks in and it quickly turns it into a borderline EroticDream.
* IntimateLotionApplication: During the [[BeachEpisode vacation at the beach]], a drunk and flirtatious Nonko asks Kogarashi to "gently" rub suntan oil on her back. When he asks why he instead of all the girls present, she admits that it's just because she [[TheTease likes seeing his flustered reaction]]. Oboro and Yuuna get jealous and he has to do it for them too, with Nonko faking orgasmic noises when Yuuna gets her turn.
* InvisibleToNormals: Normal humans who have no spiritual powers will not see or hear ghosts. If humans have insufficient spiritual powers, they would just see a blurry white silhouette with a scary voice.
* {{Kimodameshi}}: Featured in Chapter 25, during which Chisaki tried to set up a scary situation involving real spirits, in an attempt to get other members of the class to believe Kogarashi really is a spirit medium.
* LensFlareCensor: Features prominently with the amount of WardrobeMalfunction which occurs in the series. Especially prevalent in Chapter 24.
* LovePotion: One episode has Oboro trying to give Kogarashi a love potion, which should make him fall in love with whatever member of the opposite sex he sees first for a short while. However, it ends being Sagiri who gets the potion and of course the first person she sees is Kogarashi. HilarityEnsues as she confesses that she does not think she is girly and demands to know what Kogarashi thinks of her. The potion wears off with her in an awkward position on top of Kogarashi and the episode ends with her hiding embarrassed in her room.
* MaidCafe: Sagiri must dress up as a {{Meido}} and wait tables for the activity of her class in the SchoolFestival.
* ManekiNeko: Yaya is possessed by one and she also goes to a summer festival where cat spirits of good fortune gather.
* MeditatingUnderAWaterfall:
** Chapter 14 has an image spot of Sagiri doing this.
** The same happens with Oboro at the start of Chapter 22.
** Yuuna also is shown to be doing this near the start of Chapter 48 to rein in her PowerIncontinence.
* MonsterSlayerRomance: Kogarashi is an exorcist who falls in love with Yuuna, a ghost.
* MythArc: From the first chapter, Kogarashi promises he'll help Yuuna resolve her lingering regrets so she can pass on to the afterlife before she becomes an evil spirit or someone else exorcises her. The main problem is Yuuna can't even remember what her lingering regrets are. She and Kogarashi must first find out who she was before death if they want to know what she must do to pass on.
* {{Ninja}}: Sagiri is part of the Ameno clan, who are Demon Slaying Ninjas.
* OneCastMemberPerCover: Most volumes feature one girl on the cover, although there's several covers that have two or three girls and the final volume includes all the major members of Kogarashi's UnwantedHarem.
* OneGenderSchool:
** Sagiri is said to have gone to an all-girls school, which may be an explanation as to why she is so quick to attack Kogarashi.
** One chapter has Kogarashi and Yuuna going to the all-girls school Rafine Girls Academy.
* OutfitRipSexCheck: An accidental one. Oboro is very androgynous-looking. Kogarashi assumes Oboro is a guy until he rips Oboro's clothes during their fight, revealing her breasts. This works to Oboro's advantage because [[WouldntHitAGirl Kogarashi doesn't fight women]].
* PairTheSuitors: [[spoiler:The epilogue has Oboro and Hibari start getting more ShipTease, after a previous chapter sets it up.]]
* POVBoyPosterGirl: Kogarashi is the main protagonist and he can move the plot by himself, but the titular character and poster girl Yuuna is the center of the MythArc.
* PrefersGoingBarefoot: Neither Yuuna nor Nonko ever wear shoes.
* QuietingTheUnquietDead: This is one of Kogarashi's tasks as a spirit medium, because a ghost that remains in the living world for too long eventually turns into an evil spirit. When he was younger, many ghosts resolved their lingering regrets by possessing him in order to pass along their knowledge, while others he simply exorcised. Neither of those is an option for resolving Yuuna's situation, and his efforts to help her resolve her lingering regret drive the main plot of the story.
* RenaissanceMan: Kogarashi can exorcise any spirit or god with one punch, is a master of ping-pong, cooks like a world class chef, and draws like a professional manga artist, and that is just for starters. Most of his many and varied skills were forcefully imparted on him during one of his (even more frequent) past possessions.
* {{Robinsonade}}: Chapter 116. Because of the {{Teleportation}} antics from Oboro and Karura, Kogarashi and Chisaki end up stuck on a DesertedIsland until the rest of the UnwantedHarem goes to pick them up.
* RunningGag: The story has a few recurring jokes that frequently repeat:
** Kogarashi revealing that he has mastered a skill perfectly suited for solving the problem at hand that he learned from a ghost that had possessed him in the past.
** Yuuna waking up in a compromising position with Kogarashi, her spiritual powers acting up out of embarrassment and sending him flying out the window into the hot spring. A sign that she's falling for him as the series progresses is her ''not'' doing this.
** Sagiri trying to stab Kogarashi with a kunai when he does something wrong. She starts to back off on this as the series goes along.
* RyokanInn: Most of the main cast lives at Yuragi Inn, a cheap boarding house and former hot springs inn.
* SchoolFestival: Chapters 42-44 are about the school festival at the main cast's school.
* SchoolPlay: For the SchoolFestival mini-arc, Kogarashi's class performs the play of the ''Literature/TheLittleMermaid''.
* SensualSpandex: Trained spiritual users like the Chuuma Ninja can summon an InstantArmor called ''Spiritual Battle Armor'' - a skintight bodysuit made of spiritual power. It is supposed to protect the user from spiritual powers, but is really there for the {{fanservice}}. The outfit has proven so popular that in later chapters nearly every major character gets one, even Kogarashi.
* TheSevenMysteries: Some chapters explore Yukemuri High School's seven mysteries. Due to the [[{{Ecchi}} kind of series this is]], they all involve something perverted like a staircase that makes others see a girl's panties, a book that turns your clothes into a micro bikini, and a camera that lets the user see other people naked.
* SuperStrength:
** Nonko possesses this because she is part oni. She is strong enough to easily use a full grown man as a bowling ball.
** Kogarashi himself possesses enough spiritual and physical strength to KO a dragon-god in a single punch.
* SupportingHarem: It's made quite obvious, from the start, that Kogarashi and [[CuteGhostGirl Yuuna]] are the main couple. Chisaki, Sagiri, Oboro, Karura, and Hibari are also in love with Kogarashi and while he does care about them, Yuuna is the only one whose romantic feelings he reciprocates. This is made clear in the final arc, where [[spoiler:Kogarashi lives six possible dream realities with all members of his harem, but despite that will ''always'' think about Yuuna and why she isn't there with him.]]
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: In a move that's shockingly realistic for harems, the epilogue has [[spoiler:all of Kogarashi's love interests lose contact with him, [[LoveHurts never getting over the sting of heartbreak completely]]. While in any other harem being strongly in love with the male lead while also wanting to remain friends with the eventual harem winner is a viable option, here that love for the main couple isn't enough to keep them around, especially since they all decided to keep their memories of their dreams with Kogarashi as their lover. In Chisaki's case it's so bad that she has to move to a different country to start the process of acceptance. Sagiri's comparative lack of focus on her Chuuma ninja abilities during all of this also makes her abilities slip.]]
* UnevenHybrid: Arahabaki Nonko is descended from infamous oni Shutendoji. This manifests as super strength, an oni horn when she uses her power, and an inordinate fondness for alcohol.
* ValentinesDayEpisode: Chapters 67-69 take place in Valentine's Day and naturally, are about Kogarashi getting chocolates from his UnwantedHarem and female friends.
* WeddingFinale: The final chapter ends with a panel that shows us a picture of [[spoiler:Kogarashi and Yuuna's]] wedding.
* WhamShot: Chapter 53 has a huge one that involves its title, "[[spoiler: Yuna-san When She Was Alive]]". With the help of another psychic, Yuna and Kogarashi finally get a glimpse [[spoiler: of what Yuna looked like when she was alive -- a disabled girl sporting miserable-looking DullEyesOfUnhappiness]].
* WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue: The final volume of the manga includes an epilogue featuring paragraphs that describe what the main and supporting characters are doing with their lives after [[spoiler:Kogarashi and Yuuna's wedding]].
* WinToExit: Chapter 79. Kogarashi, Yuuna, Hibari, and Hyodo get trapped inside a cursed videogame.
* WindsOfDestinyChange: Chitose Nakai, the manager of Yuragi-sou, has this power as a Zashiki Warashi. She uses it to get rid of the Godunn Mass in Chapter 2; she reverses the bad fortune that made them become priests in the first place (baldness, debt, family problems), so they spontaneously quit and leave.
* {{Youkai}}: Being set in Japan, is there any wonder that they're in the series?
