4	One day, Saitama University Information and Computer Science students Ayame Himuro and Shinya Yukimura are bickering as normal when Himuro drops a bombshell on her male colleague:

8	However, no self-respecting science-type can let such a statement stand unanswered and unproven, so Yukimura poses the question of how one defines "love", and what evidence Himuro used to determine she was in love with him.

10	Thus begins ''Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove it'' (''Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei Shite Mita'') a story in which a pair of [[TheSpock Spocks]] attempt to answer the question WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove through the scientific method, all while dealing with the very feelings they are trying to prove they have for each other.

12	The manga is written and illustrated by Alifred Yamamoto, and began serialization in the {{shonen\|Demographic}} magazine ''Comic Meteor'' in 2016. It received a twelve episode adaptation from anime studio Zero-G that premiered on January 10th, 2020. The second season aired as part of the Spring 2022 season.

The second, with average ability, feels confident that he can solve it with assistance. The third, who is proficient, realizes that she doesn't intend to marry. After the tale's end, Himuro continues to a spiel on the history of the proof of the theorem before Kanade cuts her off.

Himuro becomes extremely clingy, Kosuke somehow mentally returned to childhood, Kanade revealed her jealousy that Himuro and Yukimura have each other when she doesn't have anyone and Professor Ikeda fell asleep. However, Yukimura, the only one who didn't drink, states that the ramblings of a drunk can't be merited.

The actual reason is conditioning, though. Since all members of the Ikeda Lab wear coats when doing research, wearing one during her presentation helps Kanade to relax by association.

However, her ToastOfTardiness landed jam-side down on her shirt, causing her to curse her luck (after a string of other unfortunate events that morning). This prompts Yukimura to go on a tangent about Murphy's law before explaining why it's scientifically probable for her toast to land jam-side down before walking away. The girl briefly seems entranced... before passing him off as a nerd.

Unfortunately for Yukimura, he manages to TakeAThirdOption in the worst way possible.
62	** Yukimura suffers another in Chapter 63, chronologically taking place right after season 2's finale, where the cast repeats the [[AffectionateGestureToTheHead headpats]] experiment from early in the series now that the underlying conditions have changed [[spoiler:following the reveal that Kanade has fallen in love with Yukimura too. As before, if Yukimura headpats Kanade, Himuro gets jealous, but now if Yukimura headpats Himuro, then Kanade gets jealous too. And if he uses both hands to headpat them at the same time, they relax enough to fall asleep while leaning on him, leaving him effectively trapped until Kosuke arrives to the lab and tries to kill him for having two girls all to himself.]]

She also likes reminiscing about when they were kids because, in her own words, she can't possibly forget something that she has so much emotion invested into.
