The imitation can be a form of {{Gaslighting}}, or it can be made accidentally. The easiest way this can happen is when a recorded sound is played back, but sometimes a character will imitate a sound using their voice or other method, which is convincing enough to fool somebody. This can be PlayedForLaughs if the imitation is bad, yet is believed.
