Duncan Jones, usually simply known as "Duncan", and also referred to in the past as Lalna, is a [[LetsPlay Let's Player]] and a member of the LetsPlay/{{Yogscast}}. He's prone to absentmindedness and has been characterised as a "mad scientist" and generally considered to be a drunk, even by other Yogscast members.

Similarly to to LetsPlay/{{Sjin}}, Duncan is known as an expert ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' builder. Despite his wide work on ''[[WebVideo/YogscastMinecraftSeries Shadow of Israphel]]''[='=]s art direction, Duncan appears to have gradually gotten out of practice following ''Shadow of Israphel''[='=]s hiatus. In 2012, he had a kind of rivalry with Sjin, though by 2014, they freely worked in co-op Minecraft series as well. He's also done a lot of work with LetsPlay/KimRichards using the [=YogCraft=] modpack in ''LetsPlay/TheApprentice'' and with Galacticraft and Yogscast Complete in ''WebVideo/FluxBuddies''.

He played the part of Fumblemore in the ''Shadow of Israphel'' series.

His Website/YouTube channel can be found [[https://www.youtube.com/user/yogscastlalna here]].

Not to be confused with director Creator/DuncanJones.

!!Duncan Jones provides examples of:
* AbortedArc: In the first few episodes of the Jaffa Factory Tekkit series, Duncan sounded [[TranquilFury resentful]] of Sjin, for blowing up the previous server by sabotaging his reactor. This never went anywhere.
* TheAce: Mentioned several times as being pro at every game he plays.
* AffablyEvil: His evil mocking of LetsPlay/{{Rythian}} is a bit on the giggly and awkward side. In real life, you can drop the "evil" part.
* TheAlcoholic: Averted, but joked about in various videos. When the guys are talking about whether or not it's normal to drink water in the morning, Duncan says that he does it since he's often hungover. It's how he got the nickname "Drunkan" from fans and other Yogscast members.
* BadassLongcoat: His ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' skin is a variation as it's a labcoat. He's actually bought a real life labcoat as well which he occasionally wears in videos.
* BigHam: [[spoiler: Lalnable. Hector.]]
** [[spoiler:Lalnable_Hector_]]: FEEL THE HEAT.
* ButtMonkey: On his channel's ''VideoGame/{{Civilization}} V'' series.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "This is a disaster!"
* CerebusSyndrome: Most of the current Yogscast Minecraft series is inherently light-hearted, plotwise, especially in comparison to the 'darker and edgier' older series of ''SOI'' and the ''Blackrock Chronicles''. The only major dark undertone in every current Yogscast Minecraft series is their individual connections to Duncan, the mystery over why there are so many 'Duncans', and one particular Duncan who goes by the name 'Lalnable'...
* ChronicPetKiller: In every Minecraft series he has done with Kim, their pets died. First it was Tiddles, who died having a bucket of Lava dumped on it. Then Tiddles II died when Duncan tried to shove him through a nether portal and it jumped into a lava pool, Mickey the Questing Ram who was disintegrated by the force field Duncan activated and Lady the Chocobo who died because she ran off after Duncan set her on "Follow" mode and jumped into the Lava pool near the Sky Stones.
* {{Crossover}}:
** Appears in Music/DanBull's "The Crew" video for a few seconds.
** He and Lewis played against LetsPlay/CaptainSparklez during a "Tomorrowland"-themed competition.
** For the "Polaris Civil War", he was recruited into the [[WebVideo/TheAngryJoeShow Angry Army]].
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite being a bit goofy, he's a good gamer.
* DistressedDude: Despite his skill, this has happened to Duncan a few times.
** In ''LetsPlay/{{MoonQuest}}'', [[spoiler:he ends up stranded on the moon for several episodes after his rescue of Simon fails]]. To make matters worse, LetsPlay/LewisBrindley and LetsPlay/SimonLane were too busy screwing around with a laser turret to rescue him... made even worse since Simon ended up being ''teleported away'', negating the whole reason for being there.
** In ''Hole Diggers'', Duncan ends up being stranded on the moon, but for different reasons. His oxygen tanks are not as full as they could be, and eventually he nearly suffocates, only being saved when he seals himself into the only part of the moonbase with a working airlock. Lewis eventually has to come to save him.
* EpicFail: Despite his skill at games, Duncan has some truly terrible moments of fail.
** In series 2 of ''VideoGame/{{Civilization}} V'', [[spoiler:he tried betraying LetsPlay/{{Rythian}} by moving all his units into Rythian's borders and then turning on him... which would have been a sound plan, except for the fact that his units were ridiculously weak compared to Rythian's GatlingGood]].
** His "rescue" of Simon in ''LetsPlay/{{MoonQuest}}''. [[spoiler:He also crashed into the moon, although this was in part due to LetsPlay/LewisBrindley giving him the wrong instructions after he'd initially managed to get it right]]. Later, he forgets to refill his oxygen tanks and gets killed by suffocation and hostile mobs in the rush back to base.
** While LetsPlay/SimonLane is largely responsible for the high volumes of fail in ''LetsPlay/{{JaffaQuest}}'' 105, Duncan's failure to [[spoiler:remove the rocket fuel and stop it from launching inside the factory]] is the reason it was possible in the first place.
** The reason that his Skyblock series with Sjin ended is that he knocked Sjin over the edge. This would normally not be a case of EpicFail, but in doing so [[spoiler:the buckets that Sjin was carrying were lost, making it impossible to continue with their plans and basically prematurely ending the show]].
** During the Mario Kart 8 livestream with Kim, Si and Matt, he decided to use a jet bike on 200CC (the hardest setting), claiming if he was going to suck, he would at least suck in style. Almost immediately after the races began, he realized how difficult the bike actually was:
-->'''Duncan:''' It's got a turning circle of ''[angles his hands in a very small circle]'' ah yee-ah.
*** He then tried to RageQuit by simply refusing to continue the race (as Kim repeatedly sighed "We ''warned'' you!"), and it wasn't until Kim basically chewed him out that he finished the race (and then got sulky for a little while afterwards).
* EvilIsPetty: Part of his persona in ''VideoGame/{{Civilization}} V''. [[spoiler:He starts razing LetsPlay/{{Rythian}}'s buildings when it becomes apparent that his own betrayal failed horribly. He later reveals that the whole of season two was revenge for Rythian attacking his spearmen early in the game.]]
* EvilLaugh: As part of his MadScientist persona, he often breaks into a giggle. As the "Terminator", he ended up doing a Jabba the Hutt style one, then changed it to Santa Claus.
* GeniusDitz: Initially was more genius than ditz, thanks to his experience with Tekkit, but as time goes on the ditzy side starts overshadowing the genius.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Platonically with LetsPlay/KimRichards. He absolutely towers over her.
* TheHyena: On occasion, Duncan will find himself unable to stop laughing.
* KillItWithFire: He and Sjin have a habit of burning down the gyms in ''Pixelmon''.
* KleptomaniacHero: Probably the only member of the Yogscast who ''isn't''. In his ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil5'' LetsPlay with LetsPlay/HannahRutherford, he's more interested in pushing forward with the story rather than hunting for loot, as Hannah does.
* MadScientist: Invoked a few times in his various playthroughs of ''Minecraft'' mods.
* NiceGuy: An extremely friendly person.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain:
** In ''The Blackrock Chronicle''.
** A case of this also happened in their ''VideoGame/{{Civilization}} V'' playthrough. When it became apparent that [[spoiler:his betrayal of LetsPlay/{{Rythian}} had ended badly, he decided to simply raze his buildings, causing more trouble for Rythian than his attempt at outright war]].
* PlatonicLifePartners: {{Invoked}} by LetsPlay/KimRichards, who insists in her ''VideoGame/TomodachiLife'' playthrough that they're not actually dating and are just good friends, and Duncan's been with his girlfriend at that point for a long time anyway.
* PowerTrio:
** Typically plays ''Minecraft'' with Simon and Lewis when they are doing a series such as ''Hole Diggers''.
** Due to Simon's absence from the main channel from March till September 2015, Duncan joined up with Sjin and Lewis to fill the void.
* PyroManiac: He and Sjin keep burning down the gyms of the gym leaders in ''Pixelmon''.
* SanityBall: How focused he is in ''Minecraft'' varies considerably. In ''WebVideo/{{MoonQuest}}'' and ''[=MarsQuest=]'', he finds himself being the only one working, whereas Simon, Lewis and [[spoiler:Sjin]] are not paying attention and just messing around. In his own series and ''WebVideo/HoleDiggers''... less so.
* ShoutOut: The goggles from his ''Minecraft'' skin are supposedly inspired by Anakin's from ''Film/ThePhantomMenace''.
