* Any time Sandy or Kirsten leap to Ryan's defense. Especially Kirsten, given her initial opposition to taking him in. One such occasion is in Season 2 when Caleb accuses Ryan of only wanting the Cohens' money:

** And another occasion, when Sandy sees his old college girlfriend and tells her what's happened in his life, such as that he's married with ''two'' sons.
* Any time there is any kind of show of love between the Cohens and Ryan. Kirsten going to rehab and Ryan's "I don't want to see that happen again to someone I love." Seth half-carrying Ryan to the hospital.
** In The My Two Dads, Sandy and Kirsten's love for Ryan is evident, especially Sandy, but what really takes the cake is this exchange:
-->'''Sandy:''' I'm sorry things didn't work out with your dad.
-->'''Ryan:''' My dad is right here.
* At the beginning of Season 2, Kirsten tearfully hugging both Seth and Ryan after they return and calling them "my boys." [[DefrostingIceQueen A far cry from the bitch]] who earlier declared "I don't want this kid in my house anymore" (referring to Ryan.)
* The comic scene in "The Avengers"
* Seth cleaning urinals to get Summer and her boyfriend Zach tickets to see a band that she liked.
* In "Shake Up," Seth gets Ryan to the hospital by trading his broken down car for a shopping cart and then donated his blood. Because he had a few extra pints he wasn't using.
* In the final scene of the series finale, we see Ryan working as a professional architect. He notices a rundown street kid watching him work and asks if the kid needs help, a CallBack to how Sandy Cohen offered Ryan help in the first episode of the series. Ryan clearly remembers how much of an impact Sandy's offer had on his life and finally gets to [[PayingItForward pay it forward]].
