----
* Having the Clothier arrive can lead to the realization that the old man was freed from his curse after all.
* Freeing the Tax Collector from his torment in the Underworld with Purification Powder. His gratitude is... [[TheScrooge questionable]], but considering he is literally called "[[AndIMustScream Tortured Soul]]" before purification, it's a pretty safe assumption you've done the right thing.
* Several of the paintings that can be randomly found throughout the world can be very heartwarming. The painting "Sparky" features an image of Redigit and Cenx's deceased pet dog; the tooltip reads "In loving memory". "Terrarian Gothic" shows an image of the Mechanic and Goblin Tinkerer together, a romantic pairing that is heavily implied elsewhere in-game. Finally, there are quite a few paintings about boss battles, implying that the player's adventures have become so legendary that Terrarian artists have recorded them for posterity in the form of paintings.
* As mentioned above, the Goblin Tinkerer and Mechanic both heavily hint towards having reciprocated crushes on each other. It’s a small detail, but having this sweet [[PairTheSmartOnes smart girl-smart guy]] InterspeciesRomance in what is otherwise a bit of a CrapsaccharineWorld filled with zombies and giant demon eyeballs adds just a touch of “awwww” to the game. (Especially considering their similar backgrounds, both tied up and left to rot among monsters, only to be rescued by you).
* With the Journey's End update's improved animated backgrounds, the night after you defeat a boss, you'll be rewarded with the sight of dozens of flying paper lanterns slowly rising into the sky. If you talk to the [=NPCs=] in your little village, they'll tell you that ''they'' were the ones who lit them, in celebration of your victory.
** Additionally, there are little signs throughout the world that your village isn't the only one. Towns can sometimes be seen in the background. Hot air balloons freely explore the skies. As the journey ends, the expansion of humanity has begun. And it's all thanks to [[PlayerCharacter you]].
** It's also worth noting that after defeating [[FinalBoss the Moon Lord]], these lanterns have a chance of appearing any night. Even after there are no more bosses to celebrate being defeated, the people are making efforts to honour you forever for your work in saving the world.
* Some of the new vanity sets added with Journey's End are graduation caps and gowns. Seems an odd choice unless you know the context - the update was released during the [[UsefulNotes/CoronavirusDisease2019Pandemic Coronavirus pandemic]], which pretty much scuttled the Class of 2020's hopes of having anything close to a conventional graduation ceremony. But the game's developers have given Terrarians a chance to celebrate that milestone their own way.
* The Credits unlocked after beating the Moon Lord for the first time in a world reveal that some of the [=NPCs=] got to have their happy endings. The Tavernkeep gets to return home, the Goblin Tinkerer and Mechanic finally become a couple, the Dryad returns to the Earth itself, and the Zoologist is cured of her curse.
* In a hidden event that gives you a pet, you learn just a little bit more about your hero; [[spoiler: The Stardrop in ''Stardew Valley'' is flavored based on your farmer's favorite thing. According to its description in ''Terraria'', the hero's favorite thing is dreaming. And it's likely those dreams that gave them the resolve to climb to the top and defeat the evils of the world.]]
* The fact that Relogic keeps coming back to add more content even after stating, more than once, that they are done with the game. They love the game so much they simply cannot stop making content for it.
