1	* The finale, when the whole family gets up on stage and dances with Olive, especially after everything the family has been through by that point. Everything taught them to stand by one another, and take risks even when it seems scary and pointless.
2	* Dwayne's rant just before Olive goes on, trying to prevent her from going out there after seeing that she'll be competing against girls with access to significantly more training and money than she will ever have and wanting to save her from what he sees as certain humiliation. AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther!
3	* When Dwayne is having his breakdown and refuses to get back in the van. Nothing anyone can say has made any difference, and Richard suggests that Olive try. Without saying a word, Olive goes down the hill and puts her arm around him and lays her head on his shoulder. Such a perfect testament to the power of just being there for someone, even if you can't make everything okay. And it gets even more heartwarming right after, as Dwayne, after having yelled at his mother, accusing his whole family of being losers and screaming how much he hates them all, reacts to Olive's hug with no more fuzz a simple "Ok. Let's go," and then easily gets up and helps his little sister back up the hill, so they can get back on the road and get to the pageant on time.
4	* When the family leaves a gas station after an argument, they forget Olive. Dwayne is the one who points it out, getting them to go back. It's not much, but it's still very touching to see that he cares for his sister even though he claims to hate everyone.
5	* The night before the competition, Olive is starting to feel the pressure, feeling insecure about her looks and actually starts crying. Grandpa swoops in, after being an asshole for 90% of his screentime, and tells her not only is she beautiful, but she's the most beautiful girl in the world. Seeing how Olive is coming apart just the way a normal little girl would and how Grandpa is comforting her was really touching.

12	** Not to mention that the same judge is the only one who loves Olive's performance.
13	* After Richard's book deal falls through, his father (who throughout the entire movie has pretty much bad-mouthed Richard and treated him with disdain), tells him how proud he is of Richard for being brave enough to take a chance.
14	* After Olive innocently orders waffles a la mode (she doesn't know that means it comes with ice cream), Richard grabs firm hold of the JerkassBall and gives her a long lecture about how fattening dairy products are. He even deliberately goes for Olive's role models--the Miss America contestants she watches religiously--and points out that they're skinny, so they must not eat ice cream. Poor Olive then pushes away the dish and asks if anyone else wants it. What follows...
15	** Grandpa immediately goes for a bite, and Frank, Dwayne, and Sheryl all follow suit, talking about how delicious the ice cream is and how "lonely" the waffles will be without it. Olive finally breaks and grabs a spoon, too. It's adorable to see everyone teaming up to undo Richard's bad advice and encouraging Olive to be herself.
16	** Followed immediately by [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Dwayne shooting a straw wrapper at Richard]], the one who had been pushing Olive into not eating.
17	** Special mention goes to Grandpa, who [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold is the first and most persistent in getting Olive to eat]], and Dwayne, who's sitting next to her. At one point, you can see him putting his spoon under her nose, teasing her in a very brotherly way.
18	* "Do what you love, and fuck the rest."
19	* A more subtle example: the impersonal and business-professional Pam [[DefrostingIceQueen getting a kick out of Olive's performance.]]
20	* Kirby the hired hand who offers to register Olive into the competition his own time: "It'll only take five minutes." He's the third of the people cheering Olive's performance at the end.
21	* Olive's freakout at the beginning of the film when she hears her aunt's answering machine message about her surprise qualification for the Little Miss Sunshine pageant - screaming with glee and running around the house throwing her things into a bag while squealing "I-won-I-won-I-won-I-won!" - is absolutely adorable.
22	* After Olive finishes her performance the first person to clap is the DJ. He could have easily stopped her by cutting the music but didn't, suggesting he also approved of the performance.
