2	* "America" begins with a soldier asking if he can stand serving the US Army for 20 years, after which he can receive retirement pay. As the song progresses, his desire to support his country overpowers his anxiety. The second verse, in particular, includes praise for the working class (and maybe also the National Guard), a fleeting 9/11 memorial, and a thanks to the authors of the Declaration of Independence, in addition to a remembrance of past fighters. The song also tries to bridge the urban-rural divide, honoring both "farmers and fields" and "the tallest of the towers that fall in rise", which is much needed these days.
3	* In the music video for "On Top of the World", Dan Reynolds kisses his wife, Aja Volkman, and their baby, during the second part of the line, "If you love somebody, better tell them why they're here..."
4	* "I Bet My Life" sounds a little like this and a little like a TearJerker, as it has Dan Reynolds remember making life decisions his parents didn't agree with, then try to assure his parents that he still considers them important.
5	* At the first-ever The Game Awards, the group performed a goosebump-inducing arrangement of "Great Fairy's Fountain" with Creator/KojiKondo after being introduced as long-time fans of ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda''.
6	* The "Roots" music video features Dan Reynolds spending time in between UsefulNotes/NewZealand concerts immersing himself in the natural beauty of the country, and also engaging in recreation with the locals. 11	* "Real Life", in which a man gives his wife comfort when she is upset by scary and depressing news in the world.
12	* "They Don't Know You Like I Do," in which the singer explains to a troubled, bullied friend that he will always see his worth even though everyone else doesn't.
