Due to ''WebVideo/TheMysteriousMrEnter'' being one of the more... [[{{Understatement}} polarizing]] animation critics out there, he tends to get [[DarthWiki/HePannedItNowHeSucks this reaction]] a ''lot''.

----
* Many people have not taken well to his negative opinions of ''WesternAnimation/TheMarvelousMisadventuresOfFlapjack'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheAristocats''.
* Back when he was a ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' reviewer, his negative reviews had a tendency to get this reaction:
** In particular, his very negative review of "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E19PuttingYourHoofDown Putting Your Hoof Down]]" -- which he considers the single worst episode of the series, though not on a technical level (that infamy goes to "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E10RainbowFalls Rainbow Falls]]") -- touched a nerve with many Fluttershy fans (ironically, Fluttershy is his favorite character on the show), who were enraged further with his rant at the end of his review of "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E11KeepCalmAndFlutterOn Keep Calm and Flutter On]]".
** His negative reviews of "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E7MayTheBestPetWin May The Best Pet Win]]" and "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E6PowerPonies Power Ponies]]" also made plenty of people mad.
** More controversial was him choosing Dave Polsky as one of his favorite MLP writers and Charlotte Fullerton as his least favorite. Fullerton was traditionally considered one of the show's best writers (a point Mr. Enter specifically addresses and debunks), while Polsky was - up until Season 4 - traditionally considered one of the worst writers (and even then, fans are still divided over the quality of some of his season four episodes like "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E4DaringDont Daring Don't]]" and "[[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E24EquestriaGames Equestria Games]]").
** He attempted to get ahead of the flames at the beginning of his extraordinarily negative review of ''WebVideo/FriendshipIsWitchcraft'', specifically pointing out the brutal savaging Voice Of Reason had gotten from the series' (loud and aggressive) fans with his negative FIW review a few months earlier. Unlike [=VoR=]'s video, Mr. Enter's review has a net positive rating, but it still ended up with the most dislikes of any MLP video on his channel.
** While he didn't exactly review them as part of his MLP reviews, his atrocities on G3 irritated much of the collective fanbase for previous ''Franchise/MyLittlePony'' generations, particularly his dislike of Minty, who is well-liked by many fans and considered one of the main redeeming elements of G3.
* For a while, Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} Month was considered to be one of the most controversial things that he'd ever done, as more than half of the criticisms and accusations lodged at him revolved around that series of reviews alone.
** ''WesternAnimation/{{Breadwinners}}'' turned out to be one of the few Atrocities he's reviewed that had an actual fan-base... one who was not pleased with the ''very'' scathing review he gave of it, to the point of vandalizing his YMMV page.
** His review of ''WesternAnimation/FanboyAndChumChum''. There were people asking him ''not'' to review that show. He did it anyway. Granted, in his Nick-O-Rama review of the show, he praised some aspects of the show, and even admitted that it's not as bad as some people let on, especially in comparison to shows like ''WesternAnimation/SanjayAndCraig'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfKidDanger''.
* He was going to review the ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls1998'' episode "See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey" for December 2013, but with so many asking him not to review the episode, he ultimately canceled the review. He finally discussed it in the ''Top 11 That I'll Never Review'' video. He acknowledged the fans and the haters of the episode and went on to point out that he was stuck between finding it Admirable (i.e., great singing from the main cast and the concept) and Atrocious (i.e., the flimsy writing and the handling of the Aesop.) John would eventually review the episode as Atrocity #164 several years later.
* While not too bad, his ''Top 10 Worst Cartoons of the 2000's'' video has a fairly decent amount of disagreements, such as the inclusion of ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether''. He even says sorry immediately after it's revealed.
* His review of ''WesternAnimation/KingStarKing'' garnered an odd variation of this, not for panning the show itself, but for believing that this sort of thing is the norm for Creator/AdultSwim, with ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty'' being some sort of miraculous oddity when most Creator/AdultSwim fans will tell you that shows like ''WesternAnimation/TwelveOunceMouse'', ''WesternAnimation/MrPickles'', and ''WesternAnimation/KingStarKing'' are the exception, not the rule.
* Although the rest of the countdown was well-received by most of his fans, some people found it questionable how Mr. Enter put the theme songs from ''Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa'' and ''Anime/PokemonTheSeriesDiamondAndPearl'' in his "Top 20 Worst Cartoon Theme Songs" list.
** Similarly, while he wasn't outright hated for it, many fans of ''Anime/RurouniKenshin'' questioned his decision to put ''Freckles'' at a high place on the list, saying that ItMakesSenseInContext of the show.
* On his now-deleted Twitter, he revealed that he found ''WesternAnimation/{{Moana}}'' to be SoOkayItsAverage, and considered "Shiny" one of the worst Disney songs. This did not go without backlash.
* His review for ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'' had quite a few people get mad that he didn't like the first 2 seasons of the show (even though he said that Season 2 was better than Season 1 or that the last two seasons were an improvement.) or that he liked ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' better.
** When he looked at the whole show on "Nick-O-Rama", it was still criticized, but this time for being seen as too derivative of his original review with not much else to say about the later episodes.
* Like Nickelodeon Month before it, his Nick-O-Rama series drew plenty of criticisms:
** While many agree that the first season of ''WesternAnimation/SanjayAndCraig'' is awful, or SoOkayItsAverage at best, some people have criticized him for calling the show in its entirety the worst Nicktoon by default (though he later concluded that ''WesternAnimation/BunsenIsABeast'' is worse), given its [[GrowingTheBeard improvements]] in the next two seasons. Plenty of people believe that ''WesternAnimation/{{Breadwinners}}'' or ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfKidDanger'' would qualify as worse, since ''Sanjay and Craig'' at least attempted to be original and tell interesting stories.
** His review of ''WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' for a few reasons. For starters, he complained about how [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks different it was from the other shows]], despite the '87 cartoon practically being InNameOnly from the comics. He also called the animation lazy, even though the animation was one of the best-received aspects of the show, which wasn't helped by not showing any clips of bad animation to back this point up. Because he only watched a few episodes, people feel like he didn't give the show a fair chance. Many also felt it was wrong for him to act like he was an expert on what the franchise should and shouldn't be, given his admitted lack of history of the franchise, as his Nick-O-Rama review of ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012'' was the first time he watched '''any''' iteration of ''TMNT'' to a significant degree.
** His review of ''WesternAnimation/ElTigre'' likewise drew ire from fans of that show due to many of his criticisms being directed at the show's artstyle and animation, rather than the characters or overall writing. He also called the show racist, even though it was made by two Mexicans.
* Him putting ''WesternAnimation/DCSuperHeroGirls2019'' on his Worst Cartoons of the 2010s list. Quite a few people were upset with him disliking the show due to him calling it worse than ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo'', one of his critiques being that the titles are hashtags, saying it pushes a political/feminist agenda poorly by excluding/degrading men despite having an entire episode devoted to the girls learning to work with boys (and a male character saving the day in that episode), claiming ''none'' of the male characters are depicted as nice or admirable despite there clearly being some positively depicted males, saying it feels like it is written for a pre-school audience despite its PG rating, and even claiming that "every single" episode is bogged down by "always" having to feature all six of the Super Hero Girls, apparently either ignoring or forgetting of multiple episodes that only feature a couple of them, or even just one of them interacting with other characters.
** A similar situation happened with him placing ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls2016'' on the aforementioned list. Not for the show itself, as many agreed to it being there, but Enter retroactively disliking everything related to the ''Powerpuff Girls'' series due to it has caused many to question his judgment on the franchise as a whole.
** Yet another situation happened with him placing the modern seasons of ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'' on the top of the list. Some people were turned off by the fact that Mr. Enter claimed that the show's reputation was tainted to the point where he won't make '''any''' Admirable Animation episodes of it, even on the classic episodes, like "PTV" and "Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows", blaming [=MacFarlane=] for the state that the show is currently in, [[MisBlamed even though he hasn't worked on the show in a serious capacity outside of voice acting since season 10]]. Some people argued that if Mr. Enter wanted to put a Creator/SethMacFarlane show on the list, he should've put ''WesternAnimation/TheClevelandShow'' instead of ''Family Guy''. Even many people who do dislike ''Family Guy'' thought that he should have put an actual 2010s cartoon in the top spot instead of a show that premiered in 1999, finding his logic for doing so (that modern episodes "don't feel like the same show" as old ones) to be weak.
* The mere ''announcement'' of his "controversial opinions marathon," which consisted of Animated Atrocities on ''Anime/YourName'', ''WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'', and Season 5 of ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'' ([[MyFriendsAndZoidberg and the less-controversial choice of]] "[[WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty Pickle Rick]]"), was met with swift backlash, though his tone in the announcement video makes it sound like he's trying to invoke this.
* His Atrocity of ''Your Name'' currently sits at a 2-to-1 like-to-dislike ratio, which is rather high for his reviews.[[note]]It should be noted that he praised several aspects of the film (specifically the visuals and soundtrack), specifically criticized the twist and characters (both of which are considered to be the weaker aspects of the film), and said that he understands why people like the film.[[/note]]
** Also, in his ''Your Name'' review, he threw shade at the ending to ''VisualNovel/DanganronpaV3KillingHarmony'', which resulted in a strong reaction from people who liked the ending, with many objecting that he completely missed the point of it.[[labelnote:Killing Harmony spoilers]]He claimed that the ending was trying to present the twist that [[spoiler:all of the characters in the fictional video game were fictional, but the revelation was meant to be a twist to ''[[InternalReveal the characters in the game]]'', not players themselves, and that the main takeaway was that fiction has the power to influence real life.]][[/labelnote]]
** In that same video, he implied that the reason for ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'''s HypeBacklash was the cutting-edge technology becoming dated, as he used it as a comparison for why good visuals alone don't make a good movie. This caused many fans to get upset, pointing out that most of the backlash was because [[CashCowFranchise Square Enix was milking the hell out of FFVII]], rather than the merits of the game becoming dated over time.
* His initial review of ''WesternAnimation/TurningRed'', where he called the film a "mixed bag," quickly became one of his most disliked videos, as they felt most of his criticisms of the film boiled down to him just nitpicking. He especially got a lot of backlash on Twitter for complaining about the film being set in 2002 and not featuring any of the paranoia brought on by 9/11 (which he [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsXHcyddOPk later apologized for]]), despite the film's setting being in ''Canada'' rather than the U.S., its main characters being middle-schoolers who would not be preoccupied with socio-political concerns, ''and'' it being a whimsical fantasy involving a girl who shapeshifts into a red panda rather than a realistic story. Even people who didn't like the film found the criticism to be asinine. [[note]]While the "9/11" comment made some sense in context, being in response to Ming approaching the school without having the police or security called, many people pointed out that the scene also includes a ''security guard clearly walking right up to Ming'', so it gave the impression that Enter didn't watch the film at all.[[/note]] He later re-reviewed the film and retracted most of his initial criticisms, saying that his criticisms were mostly nitpicking and that he liked the film better after rewatching it.
** Many people found his response to Ming to be very nitpicky. He criticized Ming being an obnoxious character like it was unintentionally bad writing, even though fans have pointed out that was literally the point of her characterization, as the audience is supposed to find Ming embarrassing and obnoxious. Notably, this was one of the few opinions that didn't change in his re-review of the film.
* Enter’s mini-review of the first ''WesternAnimation/{{Cars}}'' film got a large amount of backlash, particularly Enter stating he liked the film less than [[WesternAnimation/Cars2 it’s much maligned sequel]]. Beyond that, the review was criticized for being plagued with factual errors (such as calling Sally Lightning’s defense attorney, when she was the prosecutor of the case) and completely glossed over Doc Hudson’s role in the story, [[JustHereForGodzilla when he’s typically considered the best part of the film]], even by the film’s detractors.
