!! Across all adaptations
* [[https://i.redd.it/0fce0uup3q831.jpg Waver's first meeting with Reines keeps escalating across adaptations]], culminating in the anime having Reines ''hang Waver upside-down'' while she questions him (read right-to-left).

!! Original Light Novel
* One of the first signs that Luviagelita Edelfelt is, for all her hauteur, [[HiddenHeartOfGold not as cold a magus as she pretends]] comes when Gray and El-Melloi II first [[AccidentalPervert walk in on her in her sleepwear]]. As soon as she sees them, her composure disappears, replaced with embarrassed anger, and she swiftly hides [[GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals a stuffed toy]] from view. Despite this, Gray is able to not only see it, but identify it as a character from a TV show she knows. What follows is a hilariously on the nose description of [[Characters/FateStayNightShirouEmiya Luvia's eventual crush]].
--> '''Gray's Narration:''' If I recalled correctly, it was a character from a kids' TV show that [[SupremeChef liked cooking]], but when push came to shove, would become a [[KnightInShiningArmor knight in shining armor]] to [[LadyAndKnight protect his princess]]. It was truly a thing meant to make little girls' dreams come true.
* Reines El-Melloi Archisorte, upon putting her elegantly programmed MadeOfShiny {{Meido}} {{Golem}} Trimmau into "idle mode", is only momentarily surprised silent when said Maid uses profanity. She puts Trimmau back into "Formal" mode and then comments that she is going to have to kill [[Literature/FateStrangeFake Flat Escardos]].

!! Manga Adaptation
* [[https://i.imgur.com/0urneHr.png Waver makes an absurd face]] when asking Gray to come with him when he investigates the Castle of Separation: "If you don't come, who'll be my body guard? And just to be clear, if we get into a fight between us and the other magi, the only one that'll die will be [[WeakButSkilled me]]."
** Also, Gray [[MediumAwareness points out]] that the background behind him looks like the flag of Macedonia.
* In the Castle of Separation - a castle that has angel motifs absolutely everywhere - Gray manages to mix up the rooms Mihael and Michael. Michael is Luviagelita's room. Also, Waver's face when Luvia mentions their "discussion" at the breakfast table the next day, in front of the rest of the Magi, is something special. The fact that this mix up is actually critical to figuring out the true identity of the Angel just makes it even funnier.
* When young Reines calls Waver her new big brother, he basically faints on his knees, his eyes going white and foam coming from his mouth.
* Reines says that if Waver does manage to join the Grail War, she'd like some additional insurance, namely fathering a child with her or Trimmau(!), with a demonic [[TheUnSmile un-smile]] on her face. Waver's reaction is a spectacular SpitTake.

!! Anime Adaptation
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/smug_reines.PNG]]
* Episode 0:
** Episode 0 has a couple of scenes where poor Waver ends up having to deal with stumbling over a box of pyramid-like objects (first by stepping on one and then tumbling back onto some more) and then tripping over a table while trying to stop the stray cat from stealing his shoe.
*** Even better, those "pyramid-like objects" were ''[[VideoGame/FateGrandOrder Quartz Fragments]]''!
** Waver banging his foot against the table trying to get his shoe back from the cat. As he falls his voice regresses ten years and he sounds as he did in ''Literature/FateZero''.
* Episode 1:
** Melvin notices that Waver has changed... and wonders if Waver has finally lost his virginity. Young Reines in the FramingStory, [[https://imgur.com/a/1CkijWh who has a truly demonic expression on her face]], wants to hear the answer to that as well, because Waver apparently didn't think to leave that bit out when telling her what happened.
** Melvin and Waver have a sort-of-heartwarming moment where Melvin declares that of ''course'' he'll lend Waver the money he needs to buy the El-Melloi class, because they're friends now... which is spoiled when he vomits blood into Waver's jacket.
* Episode 3:
** El-Melloi II using 'The Iron Claw' wrestling move on Flat. This is ultimately explained as [[NailedToTheWagon him not getting]] his tea and breakfast in his favorite teashop. Gray carefully and painfully explains exactly how there are no other decent teashops nearby, and all the things that he can't do now that he doesn't have one.
--->'''Luvia:''' I know the English take their tea seriously, but this is ridiculous!
** Gray calls Flat to update him on El-Melloi II's condition. Svin ''tackles'' him to the ground (while Caules begs them not to fight near his new computer), screaming at him and demanding to know why "Gray-tan" is calling Flat and not ''him''. Flat points out that Svin doesn't have a cell phone. Cue long, awkward silence.
--->'''Svin:''' I see, I see... so if I get a cell phone, Gray-tan will call me! I'M GOING SIGN UP FOR A CELL PHONE RIGHT-- ''[grabbed by Flat]''\
'''Flat:''' Nope! All the cell phone stores are closed by now! ''[drags him away by his collar]'' Besides, we have a job to do!
** After everything is solved, the teashop owner gives Waver free food for... [[TheMasquerade getting rid of the rats chewing his wires]].
--->'''Waitress:''' Who knew college professors caught rats?
* Episode 4:
** Reines and Waver have to share a room for the night, much to Waver's embarrassment. [[TheTease Cue Reines propositioning Waver to produce an heir with her.]]
* Episode 5:
** Waver conducts a magecraft ritual to enable Faye to materialize and also speak, and explains that Reines's magic eyes are essential in completing the ritual successfully. He and Reines never look more like siblings than during this funny/cute bicker.
-->'''Reines''': ''(while waving her arrms around animatedly): So now you're treating people like catalysts?!''
-->'''Waver''': ''(while pointing declaratively): Not LIKE a catalyst, you ARE a catalyst!''
-->'''Reines''': ''(pouting silently)''
** As they fight {{the Wild Hunt}} in the middle of a storm, Sisigou asks Waver [[CasualDangerDialogue if he can invoice the Clock Tower for expenditures]]. Waver tells him to send it to Policies. (And [[InopportuneVoiceCracking his voice cracks]] into his voice from ''Literature/FateZero''.)
** During the fight against the Wild Hunt we see Sisigou using his various guns and weapons, Gray using her scythe and Waver ... slowly and awkwardly firing [[KamehameHadoken small magic beams]]. The utter contrast is hilarious.
** [[ShipTease Gray's utterly adorably shocked expression when Kairi says that Waver needs her.]]
* Episode 6:
** Reines plays "dress-up" with Gray by finding new clothes for her to try on. While none of this detracts from [[SheCleansUpNicely how stunning Gray turns out in all of them]], she is damn near embarrassed/blushing every time the camera focuses on her.
** Reines teasingly smirks at an embarrassed Luvia hugging a teddy bear.
** When the bounded field has formed, trapping the three girls in the store, Reines casually remarks that it seems the situation "isn't one of your pranks, Luviagelita", to which Luvia responds "Of course not, and I was going to say that same line at you!", creating the implication that [[NoodleIncident Luvia and Reines have frequently engaged in prank wars with each other just for the fun of it.]]
** Luvia busts out the wrestling moves... while Trimmau provides commentary sounding less like the formal maid she is programmed as and increasingly more like [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Tiger Dojo Taiga]]. Behold the Scandinavian Fork Lift!
*** After busting out the wrestling moves, Luvia [[HairFlip flips her hair while declaring such moves to be "a lady's game"]].
* Episode 8: During Waver's call to Reines, she tells him he shouldn't hesitate to use the card she gave him; after all, it'll only increase his debt. We don't hear what Waver's response is, but Reines wincing, covering her ear, and quickly putting the phone down suggests he was ''not'' happy to hear that.
* Episode 9: Much of the episode is tense, what with Waver out of commission and the train taking a detour to a haunted forest. How, then, should Melvin Weins (demonstrated last episode as having been given permission to board Rail Zeppelin) make his entrance? Why, by shambling outside the train like a zombie with hands bloodied (with his characteristic BloodFromTheMouth) of course!
** Note as well what brought him within the vicinity of Rail Zeppelin: he chose to travel by helicopter ([[ItMakesSenseInContext which was smashed to pieces by the haunted forest]]). Just another day in Melvin's overpriced and impractical way of living.
* Episode 10 is both this and awesome. How was Gray able to re-enter the still moving Rail Zeppelin? Turn Add into a shield and use him as a makeshift snowboard, much to the latter's complaints.
* Episode 12: When Reines explains how she and Caules got to Rail Zeppelin on short notice (by what appears to be FlyingBroomstick), we're treated to a quick shot of them in mid-flight. Reines looks like she's having the time of her life, Caules... significantly less so.
** Then it cuts to Sisigou, Luvia, Svin and Flat, all exhausted from having helped launch them, only for Sisigou to note that they must've, at the very least, reached speeds of ''Mach 1.'' He even wonders if they're still alive.
* Episode 13:
** Fresh from graduating into the rank of Pride, Svin seems to have graduated out of being irritated by Flat (he claims he's now trying to behave commensurate to his rank). Caules and Flat, [[{{Troll}} just for kicks]], tell him [[StalkerWithACrush Gray is within the vicinity]].
** The emotional climax of the season finale was Gray finally getting to give her gift to Waver--which he heartwarmingly accepted (while at the same time asking her to join him in his fight against Dr. Heartless). A few minutes after that, with Waver finally sleeping, Gray stops for a few minutes to [[LongingLook observe him tenderly]]. [[{{Troll}} Add]] [[ShipperOnDeck then takes this very moment]] to suggest [[DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale she "assault" him (or at the very least kiss him)]]. [[{{Slapstick}} She very understandably rattles his cage]].
* Special:
** After Waver has been turned into his younger self, he is late to class and tries to teach like nothing is wrong. His class refuses to have it as they have too many questions, even once they confirm that it is truly him from Svin's nose, Gray's word, and Yvette's aura vision.
** Waver's later attempts at going about his regular day in his younger body just leads to him a) not being taken seriously by his colleagues (even by people like Kairi and Adashino); b) trying (and failing) to get through his usual cigars, and c) trying to reverse it with his students [[AshFace ending up blowing up in his face]].
** After Camus visits Waver on the eve of their reunion, Add out of nowhere ribs Waver for supposedly just letting her go home [[HintDropping without even trying to make a pass at her]], having a dig on [[NerdsAreVirgins his still-single]] asexual status, and Gray, once again, rattles his cage. That said, [[ChekhovsGun actually ends up]] [[TheOneThatGotAway pivotal to the case]].
** [[FunnyBackgroundEvent Reines chugs down glasses of red wine one after another]] at Waver's class reunion. He chides her for this, and she remarks that she couldn't stand him being so diplomatic.
