3* They (being the angels) almost never actually ''prevent'' the life-destroying events that led the targets into their current crises.
4** That's not their job, nor would it be very relevant to real life. The show's message is that crises can happen to people of all walks of life, and that love and truth have a better chance of improving the outcome for those affected.
5* The ending of the season 4 episode [[http://www.touched.com/episodeguide/seasonfour/419.html Flights Of Angels]] (aired in 1998). The CharacterOfTheDay Richard has [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amyotrophic_lateral_sclerosis ALS]], better known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The doctors never give him the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riluzole medicine]] introduced by the FDA in 1996 to treat the disease, and when their family is all together his wife does not call [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9-1-1 911]] (the emergency telephone number was introduced in 1968) to get medical help to save his life. There was no reason why he shouldn't have lived.
6* How did they become angels in the first place? Did they die tragically young (or in Tess' case, after a long and happy life) and God offered them this as compensation (or in Tess'case, a reward)? Or did he just. . .create them?
