2* It makes no sense for Richard to come near suicide over Margaret, when the two have never before interacted. Neither does it make sense for Andrew to elope with Margaret. But wait! Remember all the way back to Chapter 4? (or Chapter 17, depending on your preference?) Andrew specifically asks Richard about Margaret Eastman. Richard claims to not know her, but Andrew thinks about how he has all sorts of pictures of her... so it kind of makes sense in the end. Or at least there's a vague, tenuous connection there.
3** Sounds more like an [[StalkerWithACrush unhealthy obsession]] but then again this is ''Atlanta Nights'' we're talking about.
4* The characters were designed backwards from PUBLISH AMERICA IS A VANITY PRESS by breaking up the phrase into two letter acronyms. The way the character relationship were designed were based mostly on who was nearby. '''''P'''''enelope '''''U'''''rbain + '''''B'''''ruce '''''L'''''ucent + '''''I'''''rene '''''S'''''tevens + '''''H'''''enry '''''A'''''rcher + '''''M'''''argaret '''''E'''''astman + '''''R'''''ichard '''''I'''''saacs + '''''C'''''allie '''''A'''''rcher + '''''I'''''saac '''''S'''''tevens + '''''A'''''ndrew '''''V'''''enice + '''''A'''''rthur '''''N'''''ance + '''''I'''''sadore '''''T'''''rent + '''''Y'''''vonne '''''P'''''errin + '''''R'''''ory '''''E'''''dwards + '''''S'''''tephen '''''S'''''uffern. Penelope and Bruce are a couple at one point, then Irene and Bruce are a couple at the end, and Irene and Henry were a couple before his death and is commonly connected with Henry for most of the novel. Henry is attracted to Margaret Eastman with Andrew questioning Richard about it and Henry writing a letter to Irene about how he's leaving her for Margaret because their initials were right next to each others and it was a way to figure out characters so their initials spelt out the message. Richard is attracted to Margaret because their names are next to each others, hence why he nearly commits suicide over her in the last chapter. The other way they came up with characters and their relationships with each other was by noticing when the initials had the same last name. Irene Stevens and Issac Stevens have the same last name, so they must be related to each other. Or married. Henry Archer and Callie Archer also have the same last name. Because this novel mocks a lot of bad cliches, there is constant FanService and EverybodyHasLotsOfSex, so there is quite a lot of sexual relations going on, in part to find out what is this character's schtick in the novel. Steven(Suffern)'s is that he's a bisexual massausse who'll go after anyone. He's also at the very end of the phrase, so he ends up sexually handling Rory Edwards to death under the table because Rory Edwards ends up hearing how Irene had sex with Bruce in the bathroom, and dies of a heart attack from pure(informed) sexiness. '''''R'''''ory '''''E'''''dwards + '''''S'''''tephen '''''S'''''uffern.
