%% * BigApplesauce: The setting of the film.
* CreativeClosingCredits: The film's closing billboard lists the cast alphabetically except for Michael Algieri, who was given AndStarring citation.
%% * DoggedNiceGuy: Sam #2 towards Annie.
* EnsembleCast: Although Sam (Wexler) is clearly the main character, the other characters are given equal amount of focus (Annie and Mary Catherine especially).
* GoodGirlsAvoidAbortion: [[spoiler: Ultimately, Mary Catherine decided to keep her and Charlie's baby.]]
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: Sam is the Idealist, Annie is the Artisan, Mary Catherine is the Rational and Mississippi is the Guardian.
* HonoraryUncle: Sam and Mary Catherine consider each other cousins because their parents are TrueCompanions.
%% * IntergenerationalFriendship: Sam and Rasheen.
%% * {{Jerkass}}: Ira, Annie's previous boyfriend.
%% * LateForSchool: Well, meeting. Sam is introduced waking up a little late and then rushing to his appointment.
%% * LoveAtFirstSight: Sam to Mississippi.
%% * MaybeEverAfter: [[spoiler: Did Sam and Mississippi finally get together or not]]?
%% * MsFanservice: Mississippi.
%% * NoAntagonist: The closest thing the film has for an antagonist is Annie's {{Jerkass}} boyfriend.
%% * NoPunctuationPeriod: The movie's title.
* NotStayingForBreakfast: The film opens with Sam's one night stand waking up, then getting dressed, and then leaving.
* NumerologicalMotif: Sam #2 deals with said number twice. First the OneSteveLimit with TheHero of the film itself (hence #2), while the second due to being Annie's SecondLove.
* OneSteveLimit: Annie's calls her [[DoggedNiceGuy suitor]] Sam #2 or simply #2 because he shares his first name with her best friend and TheHero, Sam Wexler.

%% * RunningGag: "[[ClusterFBomb Fuck!]] Don't swear!"
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: Deconstructed. Sam's kind gesture of [[spoiler: adopting Rasheen without going through legal basis gets him arrested for kidnapping. Annie and Sam #2 bail him out, however]].
%% * SecondLove: Sam #2 to Annie.
* TheThreeFacesOfEve: At first glance, you would think that Annie is the wife, Mary Catherine is the child and Mississippi is the seductress. Personality wise, Annie has the impulsiveness and naivety of the child, Mary Catherine has the most active sex life of the three female characters, and Mississippi is actually a very rational TeamMom.
* TitleDrop: Defied. Annie has a mantra of "Thank you, more please!" which she says if she wants positive things to happen, while the word "Happy" is the song Mississippi sang in the end.
