Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey is a 2000 tokusatsu film made by Tsuburaya productions, part of the Franchise/UltraSeries and direct sequel to Series/UltramanTiga. It serves as the "bridge" between Tiga's show and the SequelSeries, ''Series/UltramanDyna'', despite being released after both series have ended their run.

Two years after the events of Ultraman Tiga, Daigo Madoka have long given up his days of being a HenshinHero, and is preparing for his upcoming wedding with Rena Yanase. However, Daigo started having visions of a mysterious woman in black, firstly in his nightmares, and then hallucinating seeing her taunting him with visions of the apocalypse. Somehow, this mysterious woman is connected to Ultraman Tiga - and Daigo's - past, and their future.

An excavation mission on R'lyeh Island (the same place where Ultraman Tiga defeats Ghatanozoa in the series) had the archaeological team uncovering a series of ancient ruins containing three giant statues which resembles Ultramen. The excursion went completely wrong, however, with the three giants coming to life, and unleashing the dormant army of Zoigers into the world. Now, Daigo must seek the powers of Ultraman Tiga once again.

!!''Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey '' provides the following tropes.

* AffablyEvil: Darramb, who frequently refers to Tiga as “my friend” and seems more upset than angry at Tiga’s betrayal of the Dark Giants.
* ApocalypticMontage: A flashback sequence halfway through shows the destruction of R’yleh, firstly the war between the Titans and Golzas, and later the Titans in a war that ultimately lead to their extinction.
* BehemothBattle: This being an Ultraman movie… although the fight is now strictly between Ultras on the side of good and evil.
* BigDamnKiss: Easily the biggest of the entire Ultra Series.
* BloodierAndGorier: And how! Compared to [[Series/UltramanTiga the series]], there is more onscreen violence and gore, more largescale destruction and FamilyUnfriendlyDeath scenes, probably on the same level as Series/UltramanAce.
* CensoredChildDeath: Dark Tiga crushing a crying little girl with his fists, where all we see is the child’s balloon floating into the sky, and then the crying stops. Thankfully that was part of a NightmareSequence that didn’t actually happen.
* CollapsingLair: [[spoiler: The entire island of R’yleh begins collapsing and sinking into the ocean upon Camearra’s death]].
* ContinuityCameo: [[spoiler: In the last few seconds of the film, [[Series/UltramanDyna Shin Asuka]] makes a quick appearance greeting Daigo and Rena]].
* ContinuityNod:
** When the GUTS team are about to excavate R’lyeh, Captain Iruma warns them about the consequences of humans abusing Ultramen’s powers, referencing the Masaki Keigo incident from Series/UltramanTiga.
** Rena’s love for swimming and dolphins, from episode 12 of the series proper, also turns up earlier.
* TheCavalry: Super GUTS is being overwhelmed by the Zoiger swarm, their engines are failing, they are unable to deploy their own fighter planes… cue the arrival of four Super GUTS trainees in their respective fighters, delivering a much-needed assistance against the swarm.
* DugTooDeep: The reason for the Dark Giants’ revival, is caused by an excavation by GUTS gone wrong. Despite Captain Iruma telling them NOT to blow up the entrance, they just had to do it…
* FriendlyPlayfulDolphin: Early in the film before the Dark Giants appeared, it turns out Reina works as a dolphin trainer in a waterpark, and swims along her dolphin "pals" before a large audience. So that they could sneak in a WalkingSwimsuitScene for Reina, of course.
* GiantFootOfStomping: Darramb steps on one of the GUTS redshirts, and we get to see the Dark Giant’s foot descending upon him from the victim’s POV.
* GigglingVillain: Hudra in both human and giant form, who constantly chuckles to himself while beating up Daigo/Ultraman Tiga.
* GoldenSuperMode: Once again, [[spoiler: Tiga managed to unleash his Glitter Form, which allows him to eventually overcome Camearra]].
* GoodLuckCharm: Before Captain Iruma leaves for her excavation mission on R’lyeh, Deputy Captain Seichi Munakata gives her his good luck charm, which is his Costa Rican coin on a necklace. [[spoiler: This ends up being useful for assisting Captain Iruma to grab an out-of-reach detonator later in the movie]].
* HenshinHero: Ultraman Tiga returns, and once again Daigo is the Ultra's host.
* HeroicSecondWind: Ultraman Tiga is on the losing side of a battle against Camearra’s OneWingedAngel form. But then, the statues of fallen warriors surrounding him starts glowing…
* {{Kaiju}}: Surprisingly averted! We see some Golzas in a flashback scene, but the climatic action is between Ultraman Tiga and the Dark Giants, which are sentient beings instead of mindless kaijus.
* KidAmidTheChaos: A rather disturbing example, where a crying child in the middle of a Zoiger attack is suddenly and unexpectedly crushed by Dark Tiga's fist. Thankfully that was only from a DreamSequence.
* LightIsGood: [[spoiler: Ultraman Tiga, facing defeat and probable death in the hands of Camearra’s OneWingedAngel form, receives assistance by absorbing the residual light energy from the statues of various fallen titans around him, allowing Tiga to unlock his Glitter Tiga Form once again and turn the tide of battle]].
* MookCarryover: The Zoigers which served the previous BigBad, Ghatanozoa, now serve Camearra and the Dark Giants.
* MythologyGag: Ultra Nyan, Tsuburaya’s mascot cat at the time of the movie’s release, made a cameo as an amusement park mascot.
* NightmareSequence:
** Daigo, having a PropheticDream of Camearra invading his wedding with Rena and taunting him with her illusions.
** Daigo suddenly had a vision of the world being swarmed by the Zoiger horde released from R’yleh, and he is unable to stop them because his transformation into Ultraman Tiga is now [[DarkIsEvil Dark Tiga]].
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler: Camearra’s final form, which is a giant, serpentine EldritchAbomination which covers the atmosphere above R’lyeh, where she is half a body mounted atop a humongous reptilian head.]]
* PassingTheTorch: Upon boarding the rocket that takes them to Mars, Daigo passes by [[spoiler:Shin Asuka whom he recognizes as his successor and wishes him good luck]].
* {{Prequel}}: To ''Series/UltramanDyna''. By the time this movie came out, the Ultraman Dyna series is 3 years old.
* {{Redshirt}}: The GUTS team that accompanies Captain Iruma to the ruins of R'lyeh, and tried to excavate the ruins where the Dark Giants are sealed. Some of them gets crushed, some gets flung aside, the rest gets devoured (either onscreen or offscreen) by the awakened Zoiger swarm… and some of them are literally wearing [[LampshadeHanging red uniforms]].
* SpannerInTheWorks: The Dark Giants have all their plans going according to schedule, having forced Daigo into the evil form of Dark Tiga. [[spoiler: But they didn’t count on Captain Iruma detonating the leftover explosives the GUTS excavation team left on R’lyeh]].
* TomatoSurprise: [[spoiler: Ultraman Tiga used to be the leader of the Dark Giants, destroyer of civilizations, until his HeelFaceTurn 30 million years ago]].
* UnderwaterRuins: The fight between Tiga and Darramb eventually leads them into a set of these which resembles Atlantis.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: Rena Yanase in one scene, where she went swimming with a dolphin.
* WeddingFinale: Daigo and Rena’s intro scene is their wedding day… before getting interrupted by [[WeddingSmashers Camearra taking over the ceremony]] and turning everyone attending the ceremony into a clone of herself. Although it later turns out to be a NightmareSequence. [[spoiler: Daigo Madoka and Rena Yanase did in fact have their wedding, as seen in the Epilogue, where Rena wears a nametag that identifies her as Rena Madoka]].
* WouldHitAGirl: The GUTS leader of the R’lyeh excavation doesn’t hesitate to slap Captain Iruma across her face when she questions his actions. He quickly gets his comeuppance when the [[KarmicDeath Zoiger horde devours him]], although offscreen.
* ZergRush: While the Zoigers made a comeback, they're no longer Kaiju-sized behemoths unlike in the series proper. Instead, this time they're man-sized flying reptiles which attack aircrafts approaching R'lyeh by swarming them by the hundred.
