''Sólo se vive una vez''[[labelnote:Translation]]''You only live once''[[/labelnote]] is an Argentine-Spanish action satire from 2017 directed by Federico Cueva, starring Peter Lanzani, Creator/GerardDepardieu and Santiago Segura, and featuring Music/{{KISS}}'s song "I Was Made For Lovin' You".

After bearing witness to shady business between a corrupt businessman ([[Creator/GerardDepardieu Depardieu]]) and Sergio Peña, a food engineer and maker of a preservative formula (and the murder of the latter), as well as taking their contract, Leonardo Andrade (Lanzani) finds himself pursued by Duges Laboratories and, in an attempt to hide from them, takes on the guise of a Jew. However, on his way, he's confused for one going to an annual reunion, and ends up hiding in their temple. There, he meets rabbi Mendi, Sara and Yosi, and begins his days as Shalom the Jew. Later, when he goes to ask for help from his neglecting brother Agustín at the church he works at, Duges' men come and take him away, and it's up to Leo, Yosi and Sara to get him back.
----
!!The film includes examples of:
* AlliterativeName: It's not outright mentioned, but if Leo's surname is Andrade, then his brother would be '''A'''gustín '''A'''ndrade.
* AMFMCharacterization: Leo is a fan of Music/{{KISS}}.
* BadassBoast: One from Harken in [[spoiler:the temple, after giving Sara a slap that causes her to lose balance and end up hanging from the platform]].
-->''"La vida es cruel, pero Harken mucho más."''[[labelnote:Translation]]"Life is cruel, but Harken is much crueler."[[/labelnote]]
* BadassInANiceSuit: Harken, TheDragon, makes his first appearance in a suit.
* BigBad: Duges, a French businessman looking to acquire a formula by Peña.
* BigDamnHeroes: When the two guys that had burned the temple (which was what led to its reconstruction) attack Yosi and Sara, Leo steps in and beats them up.
* [[BigYES Big "YES!"]]: [[spoiler:In the car chase, Leo blows up the police car and lets out two big "SIIIIIIIIIIIIII!"]]
* BloodFromTheMouth: [[spoiler:After Harken is hit by the bullets fired from his machine gun (which got kicked into the air and fired while spinning), he bleeds from his mouth.]]
* BoomHeadshot: When Flavia tries to make an excuse for López to leave her and Peña, López gives Peña a nice shot in the noggin.
* CarCushion: Leo and Flavia escape Duges' men by jumping out through a window... ''on the apartment's bed''. They land on the car Duges' men arrived in, crushing it and the remaining henchman.
* TheChase: Throughout the movie, Leo is pursued by Duges' men and, eventually, the police.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Duges, the BigBad, president of Duges Laboratories.
* DamselInDistress: [[spoiler:Sara, upon being kidnapped by Duges' men.]]
* DancePartyEnding: At Yosi and Sara's wedding, Leo goes onto a stage with Yosi and three other guys and sings a Hebrew song with Yosi playing the violin... only to suddenly switch to them all performing ''[[Music/{{KISS}} I Was Made For Lovin' You]]''.
* DeadpanSnarker:
** López.
-->'''Peña:''' Se da usted cuenta de que este conservante ''mata'' a la gente?[[labelnote:Translation]]Do you realice this preservative ''kills'' people?[[/labelnote]]\
'''López:''' ¡En un mundo tan sobrado de gilipollas le estaríamos haciendo un favor a la humanidad![[labelnote:Translation]]In a world so full of morons, we'd be doing a favor to humanity![[/labelnote]]
** Harken too.
-->''"Con toda esta información no habéis podido agarrarlos? Pensar que ustedes fueron espermatozoides más rápidos."''[[labelnote:Translation]]All this information and you still couldn't catch them? To think you were fastest sperms.[[/labelnote]]
** Agustín also has his moments.
-->'''Agustín:''' Cuentame tus pecados, hijo.[[labelnote:Translation]]Tell me your sins, son.[[/labelnote]]\
'''Leo:''' Mis pecados son antiguos, padre.[[labelnote:Translation]]My sins are old, father.[[/labelnote]]\
'''Agustín:''' Los pecados no vencen.[[labelnote:Translation]]Sins don't expire.[[/labelnote]]
* DeathByLookingUp: At the temple, [[spoiler:while Leo and Duges are aiming guns at each other, the former aims upwards and shoots the chain holding the big Star of David hanging from the ceiling, resulting in it falling down and crushing Duges]].
* DidNotGetTheGirl: Poor Leo. Flavia is dead, and Sara is with Yosi. It's even pointed out by him in TheStinger.
-->'''Agustín:''' Te gustaba Sara, ¿no?[[labelnote:Translation]]You liked Sara, didn't you?[[/labelnote]]\
'''Leo:''' Sí. Me voy a tener que acostumbrar. Al final nunca me quedo con la chica.[[labelnote:Translation]]Yeah. I'll have to get used to it. In the end, I never get the girl.[[/labelnote]]
* DiedInYourArmsTonight: After getting out of the building and hiding behind a car, Flavia is revealed to have gotten hit by a bullet, and [[ImDyingPleaseTakeMyMacGuffin gives Leo the contract]] before dying in his arms.
* DisappointingOlderSibling: Inverted. Agustín - the older sib - is the one disappointed in Leo.
* TheDragon:
** Tobías López, a member of the Duges Laboratories staff and Duges' right-hand man. [[spoiler:Gets killed by the boss himself at the staff meeting, however.]]
** [[spoiler:He's later replaced by]] Harken, a mercenary once hired by a crime family and by a cartel.
* DumbMuscle: Duges' lackeys (sans López and Harken) ain't the brightest.
* EveryCarIsAPinto: [[spoiler:During the car chase, a police car comes in and starts shooting at Leo's car, to which he retaliates, making the car explode.]]
** [[spoiler:The car Leo drives also explodes]]. See TemptingFate below.
* EyeScream: At the [[spoiler:temple fight, Leo grabs a fire extinguisher, and Arzola, expecting to be hit with it, doesn't see it coming when he gets a bit of fire retardant to the face]].
* FakinMacGuffin:
** At the factory, [[spoiler:after Leo, Yosi and Sara get Agustín and start running away, Harken checks what was supposed to be the contract, left behind by Leo. However, it's just a note with an insult written on it.]]
** At the temple, [[spoiler:Mendi burns the book with the contract in it (despite being held at gunpoint by Duges). After Duges dies, it's revealed the book had been swapped with another one.]]
* FireForgedFriends: Leo and Yosi, the latter distrusting (correctly, though) the former about being a Jew at first.
* FishOutOfWater: Leo, hiding from Duges' men, takes on the guise of a Jew, and ends up trying to blend in with Jewish people.
* GiveMyRegardsInTheNextWorld: When [[spoiler:Duges is aiming his gun at Leo in the temple and speaking in French, the latter says he doesn't understand him, and he switches to Spanish and says "Tell God I said hello."]]
* GroinAttack: At the temple, [[spoiler:Yosi hands the bag with the money to Harken, but then he takes aim and says goodbye... only for Sara to give him a kick in the nuts from behind]].
* HeKnowsTooMuch: Leo witnessing Duges' shady business and the murder of Peña is what causes the former's men to chase him down and kicks off the plot.
* HellBentForLeather: When bringing Agustín to Leo (and from that point on), Harken is seen wearing a leather jacket.
* HostageForMacGuffin:
** After Agustín is taken by Duges' men, [[spoiler:Leo phones them and tells Harken to head to an abandoned factory, where they trade Agustín and the contract. However, the latter turns out to be a ruse.]]
** [[spoiler:After Sara is taken, Yosi proposes that they trade her for the contract... only for them to threaten to harm Sara, causing Yosi to immediately back down.]]
* HurricaneOfEuphemisms:
** Leo delivers one when asking Yosi if he's ever had sex with Sara. Yosi doesn't get any of it, however, so Leo just gets straight to the point.
** In TheStinger, Yosi echoes these when mentioning that Leo, now a Jew, will eventually have to be circumcised.
** Leo also throws one with Argentine slang when asking to speak with Duges (a.k.a. the ''capanga'', the ''capo'', the ''poronga'', the ''mascapito''[[note]]All meaning "boss"[[/note]]) through the phone.
* ImDyingPleaseTakeMyMacGuffin: After escaping the building, Flavia gives Leo the contract before succumbing to her bullet wound.
* IronicEcho: While [[spoiler:Sara is in custody of Duges' men and being hit in the face by Harken, she gives his leg a weak kick. Not only does not flinch, but he also adds that "pain is a sign of weakness". When she kicks his groin at the temple, he does flinch, and when he turns around, she says the same thing.]]
* MacGuffin: The contract with Duges Laboratories for Peña's preservative formula.
* MuggedForDisguise: While hiding from Duges' men, Leo stumbles upon a Jew in a bathroom. The next shot, he's walking out of there, wearing the Jew's clothes.
* NoMacGuffinNoWinner: [[spoiler:After Duges is dealt with, Leo decides that there are things that are worth more than the contract, and tears it to pieces.]]
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Harken's real name is never mentioned.
* PleaseIWillDoAnything: [[spoiler:Harken threatens to cut off Sara's hand, and Yosi immediately backs down from his HostageForMacGuffin offer, saying he'll do anything so they don't harm her.]]
* PowerTrio: Leonardo, Agustín and Yosi.
* SarcasmBlind: When Peña mentions to Flavia that he's a food engineer, she's confused, and he replies with "I build bridges with broccoli", but she - not having the slightest idea of what a food engineer does - doesn't spot the sarcasm.
* SinisterShades: Harken is (almost) always seen wearing shades.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: After Harken introduces himself, Arzola asks if his name is spelled with H or G.
* StreetSmart: Leo, having grown up in the streets, is good at improvising.
* TemptingFate: [[spoiler:After the car Leo is driving is brought down by Harken's grenade launcher in the car chase, Agustín says that "at least it didn't explode"... ''followed by the car exploding behind them''.]]
-->'''Agustín:''' [[YouJustHadToSayIt Why don't I shut up?]]
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes:
** Leo has a fear of pigeons, caused by one that flew onto his mother's body at her funeral and started pecking on it. Comes into play when [[spoiler:he and the others are running from Harken at the factory; they get to the rooftop, only to find lots, ''lots'' of pigeons. It takes some convincing from Agustín to get him to keep going.]]
