8	!! Physical Descriptions
9	Nincada: Nincada is a small white insect that averages at 0.5 meters tall. It has a pair of small green wings on its back. Its hind legs are thin and white while its forelegs are brown and thick. It has black eyes with a single green iris. On its small pointed snout it has a pair of antenna that have a resemblance to whiskers. There are reports of golden-shelled Nincada, but they are extremely rare.

11	Ninjask: Ninjask is a small insect that has a golden head and upper back, with most of the rest of its body being black; it averages at 0.8 meters tall. It has a black pattern on its upper back that resembles a face. It has a black stripe between the eyes and a golden ring near the bottom of its body. It has red eyes with red white pupils. It has large wings that are tipped with red. Grey arms extend from the thorax, and there is a similar pair of legs on the abdomen, but these are folded close to the body during flight. Like Nincada, there are reports of Ninjask with completely golden shells.

13	Shedinja: Shedinja is the shed shell of a Nincada just prior to evolution, and as such, it looks extremely similar. Shedinja is 0.8 meters tall on average and is completely brown, with the abdomen being darker than the rest of the shell. It has empty eye sockets. Shedinja has four limbs where a Ninjask’s would be, but the limbs of a Shedinja are extremely short in comparison. It has a pair of tattered wings on its back. Between its wings, there is a hole where the Ninjask escaped. The inside of a Shedinja is completely hollow. Above its head, there is what appears to be a halo.

15	!! Notable Biology
16	Nincada: Nincada are almost completely blind, since they live nearly exclusively underground; they instead use their highly sensitive antenna to sense their surroundings. Incredibly, this method seems to be more accurate than the eyesight it uses when it evolves. The wings on a Nincada’s back are nearly completely unusable, and are only able to be used to make weak gusts of wind (furthermore, even this does not seem to be a natural activity, and the Nincada needs to inherit this move from some other Pokemon.) Nincada are able to stay motionless for over ten years, sometimes as many as 17.

18	Ninjask: Ninjask are one of the fastest known Pokemon - so fast that they can seem to be invisible when they are flying at their maximum speed. The distinctive cry of a Ninjask can cause a headache.

20	Shedinja: Shedinja is the shed shell of a Nincada just before evolution that is possessed by a spirit. A Shedinja is unable to physically move; instead, it levitates to get around. Shedinja is able to render itself impervious to any damage that Bugs or Ghosts are not usually weak to, but due to its weak body, anything that can break through this wondrous guard ''will'' take it down.

22	!! Evolution
23	Ninjask: A Nincada will evolve into a Ninjask after a long period of feeding from underground, sometimes lasting over ten years and potentially up to 17. After this period, the Nincada will dig upwards to the surface, molt its shell, emerge as a Ninjask, and then fly away.

25	Shedinja: A Shedinja is formed when a Nincada molts and becomes a Ninjask; the shell it leaves behind is possessed by a powerful spirit embodying the emotion of loneliness or abandonment. If the Shedinja was formed by a wild Nincada, the Shedinja will sometimes follow and protect the swarm of Ninjask or just leave and roam throughout the world. If the Shedinja was formed by the shell of a trained Nincada, the Shedinja will instead enter one of the Trainer’s Pokeballs to help them - often to the Trainer’s surprise, as they may not know about this trait of Nincada’s evolution and only discover the Shedinja when they try to catch a Pokemon with that Pokeball or return to a Pokecenter.

28	Nincada: Nincada live underground near the roots of trees, only moving if it needs to find a new source of food. A Nincada’s eyes are too weak to withstand sunlight, so they will usually travel underground or during the night to find a new tree.

30	Ninjask: Ninjask are nomadic creatures that will fly from area to area after they have fed all they can. When not flying Ninjask will typically roost in trees, often temporarily displacing native bird Pokemon.

35	Nincada: Nincada in the wild will exclusively eat from the roots of trees to absorb moisture and nutrients. Captive Nincada will most easily be cared for by allowing them to burrow underground for the night to eat from a tree; if this cannot be done Nincada can also eat from stored roots.

37	Ninjask: Ninjask will usually drink tree sap, but if food is scarce, they can swarm and devastate crops; this was seen as a bad omen in the past.

42	Nincada: Nincada are the least dangerous of their line, as they are usually underground; however, if threatened and unable to retreat, a Nincada’s claws are effective weapons and can easily maim or kill a human.

44	Ninjask: Like Nincada, Ninjask are typically not aggressive; however, if provoked, a swarm of Ninjask can cause fatal injuries. Also, the call of the Ninjask, if heard for too long, can cause headaches in humans and in severe cases loss of hearing.

46	Shedinja: Shedinja are the most dangerous of the line, as they are immune to most sources of damage; as such, they are difficult to stop. Most Shedinja will not harm humans; however, malevolent ones have a wide range of attacks they can use, and have been thought to be the cause of the death of trainers before. The theory that looking into a Shedinja’s shell will cause it to steal your soul is merely an urban legend.

48	!! Courting and Childrearing
49	Ninjask: Ninjask breed when in the area they were born in. The males attract females by singing mating songs. After mating, the female will deposit her eggs inside of a tree, usually around five hundred. After the eggs have been laid, the Ninjask leave the area. After about two months, the eggs will hatch, and the Nincada will instinctively head towards the ground, although many are often eaten by bird Pokemon before they reach the safety of the ground. After the Nincada burrow, they will use their feelers to find a tree root and begin feeding.

51	Shedinja: Shedinja cannot breed in the wild, but can provide a Ditto with the DNA necessary to form an egg in captivity.

54	Nincada: Nincada live alone; although more than one Nincada can feed from the same tree, they will not interact.

56	Ninjask: Ninjask live in swarms made up of Ninjask that were born in the same area as them; most Nincada evolve at the same time and so will form a swarm within a few days and leave to find new food sources.

58	Shedinja: Shedinja, like Nincada, are solitary Pokemon and do not interact with others. They have been known to follow and protect Ninjask swarms, but they do not otherwise interact with the Ninjask.
