Besides the jokes and shout-outs to the past Sentai series, the author does take some liberties with from the original series. The only thing that's missing (on purpose) was the giant mecha battles. The roster are also compromised with things you don't usually expect and there are cameo appearances from other series as well.

Two brave heroes are selected to rise up and fight against this new evil.
28	* Comments: While the prologue may throw you off, seeming like a slightly lazy introduction of the villians, don't let it fool you. This fic is a brilliant example of bringing Sentai into a world without any - it isn't until chapter 4 that our heroes find out what a Sentai is, and before that tropes like InTheNameOfTheMoon are averted. Also, there's comparisons to the in-setting 90's show [[Franchise/PowerRangers ''Zoo Rangers'']] popping up here and there, adding a more realistic feel to this world of FunnyAnimals. Occasional cameos by canon heroes are well-written and in-character, while also timed to accentuate the plot instead of distracting from it. And yes, the returning villans are as well-written and in-character as the returning heroes... Really, everyone feels that way. Sadly, the fic died off after 44 chapters, leaving some major questions unanswered, like just what [[BigBad The Omnipotence's]] master plan actually is and why [[spoiler: it involves monsters being defeated]]. Nevertheless, it's still a great read and very much worth your time.
