After her creation, she underwent repeated mind alteration spells from both Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn to shape her into the "ideal" enforcer (and a bit of twisted amusement on Shang's part). Then, after her "sister" Kitana breaks free of her own brainwashing, she treats Mileena as nothing more than an abomination, slashes her throat, and leaves her to bleed out without a hint of remorse, unaware that Mileena was brainwashed into believing they were genuine sisters too. Afterwards, Mileena is resurrected by Shang Tsung, only as a "test run" for the resurrection of Sindel, and Shao Kahn, who has dropped any pretense of her being anything more than a "potentially" useful tool to him.
