->''"Sounds exciting, no? Maybe a bit more epic than'' Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger''? A fun chance for some crossover ships explained in detail, along with the whole cultural barriers our heroes face? A beautiful explanation of how the Sentai Warriors and the Rangers are not so different?''\
''Not by a long shot."''
-->-- '''[[AuthorAvatar Rika]]''', in the first chapter, wasting no time as to what the reader's in for.

''[[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_index.php?lb_id=13249573870B95660100 Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers: The Liveblog]]'' is a half-ReviewBlog, half-fanfic by {{Tropers/Arcadiarika}}, first focusing on ''Fanfic/SuperSentaiVsPowerRangers'' and covering a few other works from there. As with the fanfic it's covering, it's a crossover between ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' and ''Franchise/SuperSentai''.

[[AuthorAvatar Rika]] discovers a few fanfics, one showing how Sentai would be better than ''Power Rangers'', and another that's said to be an attempt to stop the fan wars. As she covers them, some villain groups plan to break her to where they can use her despair--or, in the main villain's case, her--to take over the world. However, a group of Rangers and actors will try to stop their plans, even at the cost of their sanity. Will they succeed?

It later gained two sequels. The first is ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'', full title ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II: This Time, it's 100% Revengeance! Rika Liveblogs vs. the Akizukiverse!!'', where Rika covers most of the other fanfics Sean Akizuki wrote, barring ''Super Sentai vs. Nickelodeon''. This time, it's the Rangers and the actors who are targeted, after seeing their friends and allies getting changed and gaining false memories. They must free their worlds from the never-ending darkness and chaos before they find themselves turned differently, or worse yet, lose their powers.

The second, ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'', was released in 2016. The story covers the aforementioned ''Super Sentai vs. Nickelodeon'', and it serves as the GrandFinale of the series. In it, the new villains led by [[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger Dezumozorlya]] try to distract the heroes so that way, the leader will become a Lich and reshape the world in his image, even if it means wiping out his enemies in the process. What he doesn't know is that a group is trying to uncover the secrets before he does, and as the story goes on, there is more than what meets the eye.

While ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'' was intended to be the GrandFinale of the original story, in late August 2016, ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers 3.5'' was released, serving as an extra story featuring a few unused characters. In it, Dan Ewing, Xander Bly, and Dante Sparda try to survive in an island as part of their male bonding exercise. What they don't know is that they'll face very odd adventures featuring half of the ''[[Series/PowerRangersMegaforce Super Megaforce]]'' cast and some mysterious dance teams...

''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers IV'', the next story starting a new arc, was released in 2017, focusing on ''Fanfic/SuperSentaiVsSuperSentai''. This time, the story doesn't revolve around Rika and her friends, but focuses on a new character, college student Arika, covering the story. During it, she faces off against a new group of Rangers taking the place of the originals, new allies, and more threats looming, along with her receiving mysterious visions. However, the fic became a DeadFic due to lack of interest...

...until November 2022, when the fic was rebooted as ''[[https://arcadiarika.tumblr.com/tagged/super%20sentai%20vs%20power%20rangers%20iv Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers IV RELOADED]]'', full title ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers IV: A New Beginning RELOADED''. Taking on the BroadStrokes approach for ''II'' through ''3.5'' while leaving ''I'' intact, the plot remains largely the same with Arika, now a seemingly normal young woman, facing off against mysterious monsters, all while a group of Rangers and Dante help to uncover who she really is, and why the monsters are threatening her home world.

During the writer's block, a story set a year after the events of ''IV'', ''Fanfic/PowerRangersClockwork'', was released in late 2018.

----

!!Recurring ''Super Sentai'' and ''Power Rangers'' tropes include:

* ActorAllusion
** In Chapter 20 of ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'', Christopher asks Sean, "should I kill (Clone!Chris) now?". [[spoiler:That's the exact same line Sean himself said as Matt in ''My Little Eye''.]]
** Come the ''Jetman'' arc in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'', Alex has a Jigglypuff as his partner. This is a reference to Alex's appearance in ''[[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros Smash]] Supremacy'''s episode 8, "[[{{Franchise/Pokemon}} Jigglypuff vs. Pikachu]]".
** For the hypothetical actor side, Neo-Kiros' contribution for Neo-Vypra's first Monsters of the Chapter are the Nightmare Animatronics from ''Five Nights at Freddy's 4''; [[spoiler:and when he's revealed to be dead in Chapter 12, "Don't Go" from ''Five Nights at Freddy's 3'' plays, and later on, "Hard to Say Goodbye" from ''Five Nights at Freddy's 4'' plays during his scenes in the Soul World.]] The ''Five Nights at Freddy's'' series of games are all played by Markiplier.

* BigBad: Radiguet for the main plot of ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers''[=' liveblog, the Hate Master for =]''Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Power Rangers Samurai'''s plot, [[spoiler: Flurious for ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'']], and Dezumozorlya, [[spoiler:later usurped by Neo-Kiros,]] for ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III''.
* BigGood: The Tokusatsu Spirits, who are the closest things to deities in their worlds. Rika herself becomes one as the Champion of Canon in the finale of ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III''.
* ByThePowerOfGrayskull: All the heroes have their own incantations/phrases from their own series; see the character page for their respective examples.
* ChromaticArrangement: While unnamed at the time, ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'' has Tim Langdon/Go-Buster Ranger Red, Michael Grayson/Red Lightspeed Ranger, and Orion/Super Megaforce Silver, and their team name is the "Swag Force Rangers".
* {{Crossover}}: Of the [[MassiveMultiplayerCrossover massive multiplayer]] variety. Aside from the obvious crossover between ''Super Sentai'' and ''Power Rangers'', ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'' also features a character from ''[=DmC=] Devil May Cry'', and ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'' has the Nightmare Animatronics from ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys4''.
* {{Deconstruction}}: One of the two visions Dezumozorlya gave brutally shot down the Aesop popularized in VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight: "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing." [[spoiler:Because of not participating in the hypothetical defeat of Dezumozorlya in favor of saving the Legends, her friends, the common people turned against Rika for 'not standing up to them', to them it's considered letting evil triumph because she, the designated 'good men', do nothing to stop evil, leading her to be publicly executed for 'being an accessory to evil'.]]
* HomeBase: The Tokusatsu Spirit Dimension/Heaven for the Tokusatsu Spirits and Legendary Rangers, Rika's home for her own base.
* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: Most, if not all, of the chapters are titled after Sentai or Ranger episodes. The first ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'' arc even has the chapters named after the respective seasons--"[[Series/BakuryuuSentaiAbaranger The Big Abare Quiz Show of Death]]" (Chapter 27) and "[[Series/MahouSentaiMagiranger Go Home, Rika, You're Drunk ~Maagi Magiiro~]]" (Stage 29), for example.
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers''' main arc showed why it's not always good. Sean does ascend as the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger on his own terms, but he ended up getting separated from the groups first, had to go through hell by suffering through Akire's fire army and fighting against his friends, and Aka Red had to make him choose between ascending with very strict rules or die. The sequels are no better, showing him as one of the first people onscreen to lose his powers by his own EvilCounterpart, and said counterpart eventually took his morpher and claimed it as his own after defeating him temporarily in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'', and witnessing the majority of the Legendary Rangers falling to the Parasite Curse and, later on, Rika's paths in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III''. As the Phantom Ranger noted...
-->"However, with him...let's just say that being the Red Ranger isn't always a good thing."
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: Done twice.
** The first occurrence was in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'', where Flurious transforms into his giant form seen in the finale of ''Operation Overdrive''.
** In ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'', that second occurrence was where Neo-Kiros forcefully transformed Nightmare Michael Grayson into Megazord Gear REX.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'' is a departure from the previous two liveblogs by featuring several monsters of each mini-arc, some of them either based on or are from other media.
** Chapters 1 and 2 features the Nightmare Animatronics from ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys4'', with the final boss of that part being Nightmare himself.
** Chapter 5 has Circe, a monster who can disguise herself as a beautiful woman in order to lure victims in and turn them into animals.
** Chapter 8 has Raymond and Benjamin Fineass, elephant and weasel-based, respectively, monsters whose human forms serve as the makers of the nightclub.
** Chapters 11-12 has Nightmare Michael Grayson, a very vicious, deteriorated fusion of Michael Grayson and the aforementioned Nightmare, and also controlled by Neo-Kiros himself. Later in the latter chapter, he's turned into Megazord Gear REX.
* {{Mooks}}: Some of the recurring ones include the Grinams and Batlings. Akire in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'' also has his own army of fire demons, and Kithunder has her army of lightning soldiers.
* OnTheNextEpisodeOfCatchPhrase: Which borrow from previous ''Sentai'' series, at that.
** ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers I'' had "[[Series/KyukyuSentaiGoGoV Emergency Signal]]; [[Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger Now, Forward!]]".
** ''II'' had "[[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Protecting the canon is a liveblogger's duty]]" or anything similar to that statement.
** ''III'' had "[[Film/KamenRiderXSuperSentaiSuperHeroTaisen When all hell's breaking loose, you'll be right in the eye of the storm]]".
** ''3.5'' had "[[Series/HikoninSentaiAkibaranger Good little kids, don't watch]]".
** ''IV'' had "[[Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman And soon, another page of the legend will be revealed]]".
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: In ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'', this doesn't apply to the heroes, but to the main villains. Out of the Four Horsemen and RINO, Death/Akira is the sole female member.
* SupervillainLair: Radiguet's new castle base in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'', the Underworld in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II''.
* TerribleTrio: ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'' has the Brotherhood of Destruction: the revived and atoning Conquest, Dante, and Akira.

----

!!Tropes Associated to ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers: The Liveblog''
* AndIMustScream: Radiguet has the Scouts' souls trapped in the elemental stones of the fallen monsters, and the energies from it make the heroes vessels for the new souls, turning them into the Fallen Scouts. Every time a Fallen Scout uses a powerful attack, a part of the original Scout's soul vanishes, much to the horror of the All-Stars. The Scouts can do nothing but watch as they are forced to fight their friends until they gain the strength to break the spell.
* AuthorAppeal: Theatrics by making scenes epic with music, transformations, and being self-deprecating/making hypocritical jokes about the blogger's (and by extension, Rika's) author appeals.
** The blogger also adores ''Series/PowerRangersLightspeedRescue'', ''VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance'', ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'', the ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' and ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFuckboys'' series of games, and ''VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim'', and she will not hesitate to make references to them.
* CallBack: Chapter 22 invokes it with Rika briefly mentioning that stalking can happen anytime, anywhere, to anyone in a similar vein to her little speech about the same subject in ''My Little Eye'''s liveblog.
-->'''Rika''' (in the ''My Little Eye'' liveblog): "The really sad thing is that (stalking) can happen, anytime, anywhere. Preparation against this sort of thing is key, and just because you're living alone and/or in a nice city/town, it doesn't mean that it won't happen to you. So it's always a good idea to keep the house locked down."
-->'''Rika''' (while covering Chapter 22): "By the way, the whole 'stalking' thing? That's really real. It can happen anytime, anywhere. To anyone. And I just feel wholly uncomfortable with Akizuki invoking this talk in a supposedly-"comedic" situation."
* CameBackStrong: The Scouts, after their sacrifice by having the All-Stars finish them off, return with stronger powers thanks to [[Series/PowerRangersTurbo the Phantom Ranger]], [[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Sentinel Knight]], and--to an extent--[[Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger Aka]] [[Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger Red]]. Mako gains stronger Wind-based powers, Tori would have a stronger control over water, Xander gains access to stronger Forest-themed magic, Dan can manipulate shadows and have more powerful Energy attacks, Mao would get all the Yellow Rangers' Keys without the need to borrow any of them from the past heroes, and Sean becomes the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger.
* ColorfulThemeNaming: Radiguet's monsters are all named after a color in Japanese and their main elemental or something in relation to their elemental powers.
** [[PlayingWithFire Akire]] = '''Ak'''a + F'''ire'''.
** [[MakingASplash Aocean]] = '''Ao''' + O'''cean'''.
** [[GreenThumb Midorungle]] = '''Midor'''i + J'''ungle'''.
** [[BlowYouAway Momortex]] = '''Momo''' + Vo'''rtex'''.
** [[CastingAShadow Darkuroi]] = '''Dar'''kness + '''Kuroi'''.
** [[ShockAndAwe Kithunder]] = '''Ki''' + '''Thunder'''.
* DrinkingGame: In order to cope with the fic, Rika had to made up one.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Tranza and Radiguet may be some of the most horrific villains in ''Sentai'', but even they can't stomach ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers''. This leads to the former's heel-face turn.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman Tranza]]. As he listens to Rika going insane and losing hope, he starts to care and tries to help her escape from Radiguet's wrath near the end of the liveblog.
* InNameOnly: As far as Rika is concerned, Akizuki!Radiguet is called 'RINO' alias 'Radiguet In Name Only'. That expanded to Kiros and, in the sequels, Gai Ikari's portrayal in "Wings Forever" and ''Super Sentai vs. Nickelodeon''.
* InsultToRocks: In Chapter 24, Rika goes into more detail as to why she initially called Akizuki's version of Radiguet "RINO". It's because of a review that called him "Seandiguet", after the blogger; and Rika herself says that, while mostly correct, it's an insult to other, better people named "Sean".
* MythologyGag: Plenty towards ''Super Sentai'' and ''Power Rangers'', which helped with the blogger herself doing some research towards the two franchises.
** The blogger says that the actors fighting against evil is very loosely based on ''A Day of One Hero'', a mockumentary featuring one of the actors from ''Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger''. The liveblog for ''Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Power Rangers Samurai'' even starts about the same, only with Sean finding the titular fanfic in his bag instead of a gun.
** Radiguet's monsters' naming schemes (see Colorful Theme Naming) take from the naming schemes from the Rangers in several ''Sentai'' shows, such as ''Series/HimitsuSentaiGoranger'' and ''Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive''.
** In Quest 25, Rika tells [[Series/HikariSentaiMaskman Takeru]], "But don't worry, M!Takeru. You still have Haruka to fall in love with, too, you damn playboy!", and she mentions that Okelampa may likely be grumbling about a raise. Both are based on the GagSub for ''Maskman''.
** In Part 27, after a massive attack and waiting to see who falls first, it's Xander who falls, with Midorungle dying mid-sentence. This is mirrored from Will and Kamdor's final fight in ''{{Series/Power Rangers Operation Overdrive}}''.
** Task 30 has Rika say that Justin losing his powers to save the Turborangers is dumber than the old lady saying that there are no such things as monsters in "[[Series/PowerRangersLightspeedRescue Trakeena's Revenge]]" and all the times Tommy sacrificed his Zords.
** The finale shows Radiguet taken back to Hell by the Eldritch and beaten up by monsters for all eternity as his punishment, a fate Queen Bansheera also endured in her series' endgame. It was even lampshaded by Sean, who notes that it was all too familiar.
* NearVillainVictory: In Epic 34 and the finale, Rika fell into despair and was turned into an Eldritch, and Radiguet announced the Scouts' deaths. Then he picked the very wrong time to reveal his true plans: killing Rika eventually and taking the Eldritch's powers as his own. Later, he defeated the All-Stars, but the Scouts, renamed the Legendary Rangers, managed to protect them in the nick of time. Had he expected that the Scouts would have stayed dead and kept his pride in check, Radiguet would have won.
* OriginalGeneration: The Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger, the Power Rangers' equivalent to Aka Red.
* PrecisionFStrike: Poor Rika's voice chords yelling a lot of profanities after seeing so many dumb moments... Though not as extreme as using a ClusterFBomb, but still!
* RealPersonFic: With the exceptions of chapters 1-6 for the liveblog of ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'', the entire arc uses several Power Rangers and Super Sentai actors as the heroes.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Rika calls out the USSPRA whenever they do something very unheroic in the fanfic, such as the moment when [[Series/TensouSentaiGoseiger Eri]] and [[Series/GoGoSentaiBoukenger Natsuki]] are punished and have to go to the detention center.
* RootingForTheEmpire: Invoked, though not exactly to trope. Rika REALLY roots for the IneffectualSympatheticVillain of the fic, being [[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Flurious]], when Akizuki made him look more like the pathetic moron that no one would praise.
* RunningGag: Did something REALLY stupid happen in the fic (a lot)? Well, Rika is either gonna need to give her wall a shade of red and then bang her head on it, drink away, or create some rules for a drinking game.
** Whenever the Power Rangers universe is mentioned in the fic proper, along with the time period it came from (2005), Rika always quips that it hasn't budged a year.
* ShoutOut: Several towards not only ''Power Rangers'' and ''Super Sentai'', but from other works as well.
** The subplot in the ''Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Power Rangers Samurai'' liveblog mentions that it's inspired by the skits-in-reviews a la {{WebVideo/The Nostalgia Critic}}, which continued in the ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers''' liveblog's arc.
** Several elemental attacks that the All-Stars and Scouts use are both named after and based on several {{Franchise/Pokemon}} moves, such as Solarbeam and Flamethrower.
** Some of Radiguet's lines are based on [[VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite Ghetsis]].
-->'''Radiguet''': "And soon, I—no, we—will rule!"
** In Scroll 26, Rika sees that Banba's called both "an aging mentor and advisor" and "now aging".
-->"Lemme guess, and we're gonna be told that [[ComicBook/AllStarBatmanAndRobinTheBoyWonder someone, age 12, is 12 years old]], riiiiight?"
** In Lesson 31, Rika calls Revenger "[[VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance Revengeancer]]" as a response to him first saying that he causes victims to seek revenge, then saying later on that he would trigger the feelings of vengeance in them.
** After Aka Red gives Sean a choice to either ascend as the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger but cursed to wander forever or die, the latter not only calls the former out, but he makes his own rules. This is similar to the final episode of ''{{Anime/Puella Magi Madoka Magica}}'', where Madoka becomes hope and makes new rules to how the world will be run.
*** For another couple ''PMMM'' shoutouts, Rika says that the "Ultimate" in "Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger" was used as a nod to it without wanting to spoil it. It's in reference to "Ultimate Madoka", and the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger later becomes like a god in the Ranger worlds. Later in Act 33, in her despair, Rika mutters "...I'm such an idiot" before the Eldritch takes her, similar to what happened to Sayaka before she's turned into a witch.
** Sean's ascension is also taken from the Nostalgia Critic merging with the Plot Hole in ''{{WebVideo/To Boldly Flee}}'', as admitted by the blogger.
** In Epic 34, during RINO's speech to the USSPRA and telling them to either surrender or die, "[[{{Franchise/Saw}} Hello Zepp]]" plays.
* SigningOffCatchPhrase: "This has been (X). Until next time, see ya!" Usually, the "X" refers to the alternate title of the liveblogs. ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'' does away with the first sentence, however.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot[[invoked]]: Rika admits that the "Cole as Aka Red" part of the story could have been interesting or given a character development-filled arc, but the execution--with everyone mentioning how hot or powerful Cole was, the moments where he partook in fanservice, and several scenes where he was used as a Deus ex Machina--ruined it.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: For the Scouts, there are two tomboys and one girly girl--caring, hopeful Mako is the latter type, whereas the tough-as-nails Tori and very serious, strategic Mao are the former types.
* WhamEpisode
** Chapter 6 sees Rika getting kidnapped by Radiguet, turning what's otherwise a MST into an arc to save her.
** Mission 23: Radiguet [[VillainousRescue saves Sean from Akire's final attack]], only to turn around, defeat the Ranger actor, and kidnap him for his plans.
** Task 30: After capturing all the Scouts, Radiguet reveals his plan: using them to fight against the All-Stars. Namely, by having them become his monsters' new hosts and trapping their souls.
** GP 32: Good news--the Scouts managed to break free from the spell thanks to the All-Stars! However, Radiguet reveals that they're dead, sacrificing themselves to stop the monsters from performing the final transformation.
** Act 33, one of the biggest. The Scouts are actually OnlyMostlyDead, having been sent to Limbo, and the Phantom Ranger and the Sentinel Knight revive them with stronger powers. Aka Red gives Sean a choice to either become the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger or die. He takes a third option by making new rules, requesting mid-level fire and psychic attacks instead of powerful ones, and tells the spirit to give the other deceased Red Rangers an apology. With the other Tokusatsu Spirits' help, he ascends to become the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger. As for Rika, having fallen into despair, she becomes an Eldritch.

!!Tropes Associated to ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II''

* ArcWords: "Protecting the canon is a snarker's/liveblogger's duty".
* BackFromTheDead
** Chapter 14 sees this done to Gai Yuuki in the ''Jetman'' world, in the hopes of bringing him back.
** In the finale, all Rangers and civilians who died offscreen are revived by the Tokusatsu Spirits. This also includes Akira, Conquest, and Dante, who are all given onscreen deaths.
* BreakTheBadass: Conquest planned to do this to Sean in the hopes of gaining the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger's powers and eliminating his rival, calling him a "pretender" just because he's Rika's favorite.
* BreatherEpisode: Chapter 15, stated by the blogger herself to be mostly filler, where Rika rejoins the All-Stars and Legendary Rangers. In comparison to the end of the ''Jetman'' arc, nothing much of importance happens until the very end, where Conquest announces Sean's death to the Legendary Rangers.
* CallBack: Plenty in relation to ''Fanfic/SuperSentaiVsPowerRangers'', especially since they're from the same author.
** In the ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'' fanfic proper, Aka Red gives Cole his power to transform into any past Red Ranger, and this form is called "Red Conqueror". While unintentional, one of the main villains in this arc is named "Conquest", and he later takes Sean's Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger powers (this story's ''Rangers'' equivalent to Aka Red)--making him a near-literal "Red Conqueror".
** Chapter 8 has Rika mention that Impersonator saying "baka!" makes more sense than [[Series/HikariSentaiMaskman M!Takeru]] saying "Onore!".
** Chapters 9 and 10 are a nod to Akizuki's ProductPlacement: while some of his characters use an [=iPod=], the main products used are Doritos, Mountain Dew, and Dewritos.
** Chapter 9 makes references to how [[Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers Trini]] received [[Series/ChoudenshiBioman Mika]]'s backstory only because of the former's actress' tragic death and the latter's on-screen death.
** Chapter 10 has Tim shout out "Hasta la vista!" similar to Kimberly in Chapter 9 of ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'' when she guns down the Cutmen, Rinshi, and Stingers. The only difference is that the Red Ranger uses a PrecisionFStrike instead of using the full quote.
** Throughout the fic, Cole is mentioned to not be entirely human after gaining the Red Conqueror powers, with one of the demonstrations being him getting healed quickly. In Chapter 17, [[AuthorAvatar Rika]] also heals up quickly after waking up from her coma, and she has this to say...
-->"Guess ''I’m'' not entirely human after all."
* DisproportionateRetribution: Ryota and Mako, as part of Gai Yuuki's group, plan to stop the Jetmen and break the spell. They're sent to the infamous Detention Center for "trespassing".
* EarlyBirdCameo: TheStinger shows one of the main villains for ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'', Neo-Kiros.
* HijackedByGanon: Flurious overpowers and dethrones RINO in Chapter 16, taking his new spot as the final villain.
* OriginalGeneration: This time, there are a few characters loosely based on the Sentai and Rangers series.
** ''Series/TokumeiSentaiGobusters'' never had a Sentai adaptation at the time when the story was written, but in this story, there's Tim Langdon, Go-Buster Ranger Red and one of the All-Stars. He's named after the two actors that played [[VideoGame/DevilMayCry Dante]]: Tim Phillipps ([[VideoGame/DMCDevilMayCry Reboot!Dante]]) and Creator/ReubenLangdon (classic Dante).
** Michael Grayson, son of Catherine Grayson and the second Red Lightspeed Ranger. Like Tim, he's also loosely physically based on a character from a video game, Raiden in his ''VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance'' incarnation.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: In Chapter 11, Rika calls out Akizuki over how the entire message of multicultural unity falls flat, including how he chose Emma Roberts to be his fantasy casting for Marianne.
-->"I mean…I’m not against interracial couplings. Not no way, not no how, [[DontShootTheMessage I certainly won’t shoot the message.]] I’m absolutely livid over Akizuki…using this as his mouthpiece over some crushes that happen to be American. Or any other race. Oh, yes, I damn well ''went there.''\
"And not only that, but there’s the huge elephant in the room that is the blatant-as-fucking-hell racism. For someone who champions against it–a noble deed, sure–he’s no better. The overuse of “Orientals” for “Asians”, not just in the fic, but his usage all the time. Some characters mentioning their race in a not-so-positive way (Zach saying that he’s dark, and that’s why he’s good at infiltrating, anybody?). And while the “blackie” thing was all Tropers/ChrisX’s writing(...), I don’t doubt that Akizuki probably would do the same thing.\
"Lastly…Li’s an AuthorAvatar for Akizuki. Only Chinese. Marianne’s fantasy casting is Emma Roberts. There have been countless times where the two aren’t lovey-dovey, and yet, it’s shoved down our throats many a time. And do you know what the most frightening part is? We know that Akizuki can do a lot worse with his crushes. [[spoiler:Like…Kimberly getting raped at the hands of Akizukiguet.]] The treatment of Marianne’s just as bad, because it’s really forcing a woman into a relationship that’s just going to be, in reality, loveless. With a man who wouldn’t really change his ways.\
"Akizuki…if you’re reading this, you either need to see a shrink or go to a mental hospital. I fucking dare you to respond to all this and face the truth: that you’re a delusional hypocrite, you fail completely at even the basics of storytelling, and you’re a sick fuck for perving over the actresses and having them do bad things without a single apology. Do you hear me? '''''DO YOU HEAR ME, YOU FUCKING FUCK–'''''"
* SequelHook: At the end of the arc, a villain slightly resembling [[Series/HikariSentaiMaskman Kiros]] plots to defeat the Rangers, paving the way for ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III''.
* ShoutOut
** The arc once again brings several nods to ''Puella Magi Madoka Magica'', this time from its sequel movie, ''[[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagicaTheMovieRebellion Rebellion]]''. Several of Conquest's lines mirror Homura's, and he becomes the Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger in a similar way that Homura usurps Madoka from her role as God, only with a bloodbath of a match. And like in the end of the movie, Chapter 12 reveals that Sean will get his powers back, which happens in Chapter 16.
** Aside from the obligatory ''Metal Gear Rising'' nod, part of the title also nods to ''VideoGame/OneHundredPercentOrangeJuice''.
** In Chapter 8, one of Rika's enemies is a huge mecha that's described as "a fox and a ''VideoGame/MetalGear'' fused together", and its roar is based on the mechanical roar the animatronics make in ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2''.
** Chapter 9 is a WholePlotReference to ''Game of the Year [=420BlazeIt=]'', where Tim's team have to traverse through and shoot the bad guys with their respective guns or blasters, including a final battle with Shrek.
** As noted by the blogger, Chapter 10 contains several nods to the ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' franchise. Aside from the fact that Tim himself is named after two actors known for voicing Dante (see Original Generation above), he's dragged into a shifting landscape known as Limbo, and his weapons share the same name as Dante's. The title "Tim Langdon Must Die!" is based on the "Dante Must Die", "Vergil Must Die", and as of ''[=DmC=] Definitive Edition'', "Gods Must Die" difficulty modes' names. Finally, War is revealed to be reboot!Dante.
** Chapter 14 has Rika use a few quotes from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty'', and she references its infamous ending to that of the ''Sword Dynasty''/''Power Rangers RPM'' crossover.
** In the same chapter, Rika imagines how Akizuki would have reacted if Ciara Hanna won the role of [[Series/PowerRangersSamurai Emily]] and signed the contract. Cue relevant clip of the YouTubePoop, "[[{{Creator/Cs188}} Train Derails and Hits Justin Bieber]]".
** In Chapter 16, Rika says that, after a scene with Gai and Ryu getting their pictures taken, she hopes the camera Ako uses to take pictures isn't [[VideoGame/FatalFrame the Camera Obscura]].
** Sean's new outfit takes cues from Captain Marvelous, [[Franchise/BlazBlue Litchi Faye-Ling]], and Akuma Homura. Specifically, the long jacket, his bare chest wrapped in black bandages, and energy wings shaped like the third character's wings. He also has a red cybernetic arm "not unlike that of [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolidVThePhantomPain Venom Snake's]]".
** RINO's scream before he attacks Sean is based on Springtrap's scream from ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys3''. The same scream would later be used for the lichified Conquest in Chapter 11 of ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III''.
** In the finale, after writing the mojikara for "heat", Mako's weapon that spawned from it is [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFuckboys an industrial flamethrower]].
* TakeThat: Several chapters have very unsubtle barbs against ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'', and one unrelated to the previous story covered.
** Chapters 5-6 is a huge Take That against the Yousuke/Tori shipping, with Tori falling for Nanami instead and both people actually acting normally. It also gets another jab at Akizuki falling for the actresses' looks when Nanami says that looks aren't important, personality is.
** As revealed in the author's note, chapter 10 is a counter towards Sean Akizuki's treatment of characters he doesn't like. While he makes characters like [[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Flurious, the Overdrive Rangers]], and Marah and Kapri bashed and killed, the blogger chooses a character from a video game that she doesn't like, but only because of his actions. She also recognizes that some fans do like him, and she gives him some heroic or good guy scenes in the forms of flashbacks. That character is reboot!Dante.
** [[Series/PowerRangersOperationOverdrive Will/Black Overdrive Ranger]] turns out to have undergone plastic surgery after an accident, to distance him from Samuel Benta, as [[EveryoneHasStandards Rika is also not amused with his banner-stealing hijinx]].
* ThemeNaming: The main group of villains, the Four Horsemen, named after the titular HorsemenOfTheApocalypse: Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. Three of their names are meaningful renames, at that. And those three just happen to be the ones who die and get revived at the end.
* WhamEpisode
** Chapter 10, where Tim Langdon/Go-Buster Ranger Red defeats War, one of the Horsemen. Also includes a revelation that War is actually ''not'' from any of the ''Power Rangers'' or ''Super Sentai'' worlds, he's a brainwashed Dante from ''[=DmC=] Devil May Cry''.
** Chapter 12. Conquest defeats Sean and usurps him as the new Ultimate Red Legendary Ranger.
** Chapter 16. Sean ascends once again, this time with his full powers. RINO is dethroned by Flurious, of all villains, and the former villain kills Conquest brutally, turning into a hybrid of both after eating his heart.

!!Tropes Associated to ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III''

* TheCameo: Chris Belmont/Justin Huang and Fantalex/Alex Fantasy from ''Super Sentai vs. Nickelodeon'', Mika Koizumi from ''Bioman'', the original Kiros from ''Maskman'', the latter representing the ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'' version, and Kimberly Hart from ''Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers'' all appear in the finale.
* CerebusSyndrome: The first six chapters are more light-hearted than the previous two installments, with Rangers fighting against monsters of the week and more snarking from Rika. Until Chapter 7. Where it has Dezumozorlya telling Neo-Kiros to do a particularly...vile thing to Rika's corpse, and the majority of the Legendary Rangers falling to the Parasite Curse. Chapters 8 and 9 confirm the more serious setting, with Gosei showing Rika what her life would be like if she either finds a cure for the Legendary Rangers or saves the world from Dezumozorlya...and they're not pretty.
* DemotedToExtra: The All-Stars this time around. Instead of taking a part in the overall story like in the last two liveblog arcs, they only show up in the Monster of the Week chapters. Justified, since the villains' plan is to have them distracted while Dezumozorlya plans to become an undead Lich and recreate the world in his image.
* {{Epigraph}}: Another departure from the previous two liveblogs, each chapter starts with a quote in relation to what would be either talked about or focused on.
** The first chapter has the definition of "debauchery".
** The second chapter has the lines from the trailer of ''Five Nights at Freddy's 4''.
** The third chapter has a line from the book "The Path of Transcendance" from ''VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIVOblivion''.
** The fourth chapter has the chorus of the song "Too Much of Heaven" by Eiffel 65.
** The fifth chapter has the infamous "a Ranger must never let go of their weapon" line from [[Series/PowerRangersMegaforce Troy Burrows]].
** The sixth chapter has a quote from the original Kiros in ''Maskman''.
** The seventh chapter has a quote from Arnold Schwarzenegger about strength.
** The eighth chapter has a quote from Markiplier when he's talking about his strip club story.
** The ninth chapter has a quote from Skull Face in ''Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain''.
** The tenth chapter has the entire book, as the rest is unreadable, of ''Black Book: Whispers of the Veil'' from the ''Skyrim'' mod ''Undeath''.
** The eleventh chapter has the definition of "bootleg".
** The twelfth chapter has a quote from Madoka Kaname in the final episode of ''Puella Magi Madoka Magica''.
** The finale has the chorus to "Never Forget".
* GrandFinale: Of the ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'' series of liveblogs. At first. It turns out to be a SeriesFauxnale instead, as while future stories don't necessarily have Rika as the main character, the adventures for her continue on regardless.
* MythologyGag
** Before the arc even began, the name for the PowerTrio consisting of Tim, Orion, and Michael is the "Swag Force Rangers", which served as a nod to a few ''Power Rangers'' commercials featuring "Power Rangers Swag Force" and "Power Rangers Dino Swag".
** Both Neo-Kiros and Neo-Vypra operate in the same way as Neo-Grifforzer and Neo-Geildon in ''Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger vs. Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters: Dinosaur Great Battle! Farewell, Eternal Friends'', in that they're both embodiment clones of the original Kiros and Vypra, respectively. Neo-Kiros, specifically, represents the anger and jealousy from all his failures to defeat the Maskmen, especially Takeru; Neo-Vypra represents revenge from all the failures to defeat the Lightspeed Rangers.
** Underground Knight Unas' armor is used as Neo-Kiros' armor, with some slight modifications such as less spikes and the overall armor colored black.
* OurLichesAreDifferent: Conquest and Rika become liches with absolute immortality, and breaking their phylacteries--Conquest's orb and Rika's Legendary Morpher--would not kill them in the least. What makes them different from the usual liches is that they're both heroic instead of evil or malevolent, they do not seek power, and they both have illusion powers to disguise themselves if need be[[note]]Conquest, for example, can use the illusion powers to turn himself into three forms: his normal human-like Revenant form, his sumo-based Sumo Revenant form, and a superpowered knight form known as the Revenant Knight. Rika uses hers to modify any aspect of her physical body[[/note]]. Also worth noting is that their lich forms are based on other media: the ''Skyrim'' mod ''Undeath'' for Conquest, ''Puella Magi Madoka Magica'' for Rika without the Magical Girls' weaknesses.
* RRatedOpening: A third departure from the previous two liveblogs, the third liveblog begins proper with the reveals of the villains, and upon receiving Dezumozorlya's command to kill the citizens, they do so in brutal ways, to where the streets are just filled with death once they finish their killing spree. Not only does it show that this liveblog is rated "R" and therefore not for kids, it also shows that this group of villains are ''not'' to be messed with.
* RunningGag
** Most of the running gags from ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'' are carried over and modified, such as whenever Rika says that it's a Fisher Kingdom whenever the Sentai Rangers speak English.
** After being absent for the most part in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'', the arc brings back Rika's wallbanger moments and heavy drinking with a vengeance, especially when things get dumber in the fanfic more often than not.
* TakeThat
** The creation of Neo-Kiros is fueled by the original Kiros' portrayal in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers'', and he subverts all the things that version did, including having a lust for women. The latter version of Kiros does appear in the final chapter, and before he can do bad things to Kimberly in RINO's stead, Rika curb-stomps him and saves the Pink Ranger.
** In Chapter 3, after seeing that it's a fanfic chapter with loads of fanservice, Rika wears a dress that's similar to Akuma Homura's dress...only for her to say that she feels dirty wearing it, a direct potshot towards ''Rebellion''.
** In Chapter 11, Rika quips that witnessing the straw characters makes it feel like she's watching a reboot!Nostalgia Critic episode, even if she does apologize to those who do like him.
* WhamEpisode
** Chapter 6. Neo-Kiros defeats Rika and steals her morpher.
** Chapter 7 right after. After Dezumozorlya commands Neo-Kiros to rape Rika's corpse and the latter's refusal, Neo-Kiros swears revenge towards his former master. Doubly so when most of the Legendary Rangers fall victim to the Parasite Curse.
** Chapter 8. Gosei shows Rika a future of what would happen if she decides to cure the Legendary Rangers of the Parasite Curse. She would be branded a villain for failing to stop Dezumozorlya, his control over the people taking hold long after his death, and she would be executed.
** Chapter 9. The second path's revealed, showing what would happen if Rika throws the Legendary Rangers under the bus and let them die while she fights Dezumozorlya. She would be forever saving the world with the citizens growing complacent, but she would be turned into a hideous blob-like monster one hundred years from now.
** Chapter 10. The Brotherhood of Destruction's finally captured, and Conquest makes the ultimate choice of going through the Lichdom ritual.
** Chapter 11. Conquest is turned into an immortal lich, and he, Akira, and Dante wipe the floor with Dezumozorlya, who was weakened by none other than Neo-Kiros himself. And speaking of him, he successfully usurps him, Neo-Vypra, and Octoroo as the Big Bad, and he kidnaps Michael Grayson and turns him into a fusion of the cyborg ninja and Nightmare.
** Chapter 12, where Rika seemingly dies after killing Neo-Kiros and restoring Michael back to normal, but Conquest enchanted her morpher to house her soul the moment she executed the Thousand Arrows attack, turning her into a Lich.
** The finale. Rika ascends as the Champion of Canon.
* WholePlotReference: The subplot of the Brotherhood of Destruction finding out the villain's plans of lichdom mirror the same plot in the ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim Skyrim]]'' mod ''Undeath'', with several of those quests condensed into a few chapters[[note]]"Exhuming Power", "Arkay the Enemy", and "Infernal Alchemy" are condensed into Chapter 4, and "Scourg Barrow" and "Black Book: Whispers of the Veil" are condensed into Chapter 10, with the majority of the latter plot used throughout the chapter, and the boss fight from the former used near the end of it.[[/note]].

!!Tropes Associated to ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers 3.5''

* ADayInTheLimelight: The story portions focus on Dan, Xander, and Dante, with Andrew, Ciara, and Cameron from ''Power Rangers Super Megaforce'' joining the fray starting in Chapter 2. The regular characters don't appear at all and are briefly mentioned [[spoiler:except for Rika, from after the events of ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III'', in Chapters 4 and 9, and Sean in Chapter 14 and the Storyline Version of Chapter 16. Both also return in the finale, along with Conquest, Mao, and Akira]].
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Chapter 11's story arc focuses on two new characters, Dr. Edward Payne and his daughter, Professor Hannah Harrison.
* CallBack: Chapter 7 has a couple flashbacks when Rika describes something that happens: first, when talking about overthrowing the Big Bad, a flashback of Radiguet declaring that he will rule appears from ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers I''. Secondly, upon reaching the part of the Scanrangers being threatened to become regular, fearful citizens, another flashback plays, this time of Conquest in ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers II'' telling Sean on what he'll become once he gains the powers of the Red Rangers.
* FormulaBreakingEpisode: The liveblog portions are presented as "lost footage" set between ''II'' and ''III'', a time where Rika thought about liveblogging ''Scanranger'' but decided not to, whereas the story portions take place after ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers III''. Moreover, it's more light-hearted than ''III'' and focuses on several characters who have rarely been used since that time, and not the main characters throughout the three liveblog arcs.
* OriginalGeneration: This story introduces Professor Hannah Harrison, Dr. Edward Payne's daughter and Dante's love interest. Edward himself would have counted if not for the fact that he was first conceived as a replacement character for ''Dino Thunder'' if Jason David Frank never returned.
* RunningGag
** Rika referring to Nick's special effects as "not-a-genre", and later describing Takeshi/[=SilverScanner=]'s empowering by Tokusatsu as "powered by redundancy".
** The amount of times the Scanrangers insult their friends and other people with different tastes prompts her to compare them to disapproving parents.
** Whenever B.C. does pratfalls or makes bad jokes, Rika says that B.C. is doing "B.C. things".

!!Tropes Associated to ''Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers IV'' and ''IV RELOADED''

* AdaptationNameChange: In ''IV'', one of the new Rangers was named "Gerald Rivera". ''IV RELOADED'' changes his name to "Gerald Rivia" [[spoiler:and making it clear that it's not his real name]].
* AdaptedOut: In ''IV RELOADED'', the characters Kevin Kleinberg and Kunio Watanabe do not show up, with the former being replaced by Dante Sparda.
* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Instead of Rika being the main character, Arika, a new character based on her, is the focus of the story. It's also worth noting that, in Part 1 of the original ''IV'', none of the characters from ''I'' to ''III'' have shown up; instead, the new allies include Dr. Edward Payne, Professor Hannah Harrison, the Replacement Rangers, and Keith Kleinberg, [[spoiler:the latter only by proxy, however. Chapter 30 of Part 1 sees the appearance of the main protagonists from the original liveblog trilogy, and Part 2 shifts the liveblogging focus from Arika to Rika]].
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:In Chapter 30 of Part 1, Rika and the Brotherhood of Destruction arrive on time to attack the wolf ''akuma'' and save Arika.]]
* LaterInstallmentWeirdness: ''IV RELOADED'' is this to all the previous installments in that, like the writer's fanfic ''Power Rangers Clockwork'', there is no liveblog. Instead, it's a story in script format.
* MythologyGag
** Kunio Watanabe is never seen out-of-suit, similar to [[Series/PowerRangersRPM Scott Truman]] in "[[Series/PowerRangersSamurai Clash of the Red Rangers]]".
** Kunio Watanabe's first name comes from ''Eiga Sentai Scanranger'', and much like the original character, he's also a Yellow Ranger.
* WhamEpisode
** After hints throughout Part 1, Chapters 20 and 21 reveal one important thing about Arika. [[spoiler:She used to be a goddess, similar to Rika, until a tragic accident changed her into the timid woman we see. Chapter 20 even shows a brief moment of what she used to be: authoritative and fearful to even some of the Replacement Rangers like Serena, who backed down the moment Arika ordered her to do so.]]
** Chapter 26: [[spoiler:Walpurgis is defeated by Keith...who turns out to be none other than Rika herself, using her illusion powers to disguise herself as him.]]
** Chapter 27: [[spoiler:It turns out that Gerald is ''not'' the true leader of the Replacement Rangers, rather, he's more of a puppet leader to the true leader, revealed the very next chapter to be [=Brandon LaChance=]. And because of both his failures and trying to rebel against his master, he is demoted.]]
** Chapter 30: [[spoiler:The wolf ''akuma'' returns to strike at Arika, and all seems lost...until it ends on a cliffhanger, with Rika and the Brotherhood of Destruction seemingly saving her.]]
* WholePlotReference: The original ''IV'', moreso than any other installment, takes cues from ''Puella Magi Madoka Magica'' and its sequel movie ''Rebellion'', and it even gets lampshaded in a few chapters. Both stories feature monsters that used to be human, driven into despair, and a seemingly normal protagonist getting protected by a mysterious figure. [[spoiler:That said, said mysterious figure wants to help the protagonist into becoming a hero instead of stopping her from completing the contract, and the normal protagonist here was already a deity before the accident that changed her.]]
