----
!!''The Sponge House'' provides examples of:
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal:
** Mary the rabbit wears a bow.
** In "Rock-a-Bye Bunny", Cinnamon the rabbit wears a diaper.
* AdaptationalSkill: The fanfic sometimes gives ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' characters talents of ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' characters. For instance, in "Karate Choppers", Lincoln can do karate.
* AdaptationExpansion: Some chapters will include an epilogue not featured in the original episodes.
* AdaptationSpeciesChange:
** Of course, all the protagonists are humans here instead of sponges, starfish, or what-have-you.
** Snellie the snail is now a dog, the jellyfish from "Jellyfish Jam" is now a raccoon (as are the stray snails from "Gary, Come Home"), and Larry the snail is now a rabbit.
** Gary the snail is sometimes played by Hops (a frog), Charles (a dog), or Luan's Gary (a rabbit).
** Junior is now a rabbit named Cinnamon.
** The giant clam in "[[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS2E12PressureTheSmokingPeanut The Smoking Peanut]]" is now an elephant, and the one in "Clams" is now a shark.
* AgeLift:
** The adult customer from "Pizza Delivery" is a teenager here.
** The old woman who adopts Gary is now a child.
** Sometimes Mr. Krabs (a middle-aged character) is played by Lori (a teenager), Lincoln (a preteen), or Lisa (a preschooler).
** [=SpongeBob=] is a young adult, but sometimes played by Lori, Luna, or Luan (teenagers), or Lincoln, Lana, or Lola (kids). Likewise, Patrick is a young adult too but he's played by Leni (a teenager), Luan, or Clyde (a preteen).
** Larry the Lobster is an adult, but he's played by Bobby, who's seventeen.
** Plankton is Mr. Krabs's age, but he's played by a preschooler named Lena.
** Squidward is an adult, but he's sometimes played by Lori or Luna.
* AllJustADream: "Loud Dreams" turns out to have all been Lincoln's dream.
* AmbiguousGender: The Louds can't tell the genders of the trolls in "Royal Bottom".
* AndCallHimGeorge: In "Have You Seen This Frog?", Christopher accidentally kills some frogs by overfeeding them.
* AprilFoolsPlot: The "Fools in April" parody is about Luan and Lori pranking each other.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: In "Giant Sister Lori", Lori becomes a giant like in "Giant Squidward".
* {{Balloonacy}}: Exploited in "Royal Bottom" when the kids leave Royal Bottom via Lincoln's balloon.
* BigNo: "The Abrasive Side of Lincoln" ends with Lincoln saying, "NOOOOOOOOO!" because Lynn Sr. took the abrasive pill.
%%* BigSisterInstinct: With Lori playing the role of Squidward in "Pizza Delivery", she becomes this after the costumer made Leni cry.
* BirthdayEpisode: "Squeaky Shoes" is about Luan getting some shoes for her birthday.
* BlackComedy: "Nasty Lynn-sagna" is all about Lincoln and Lynn Sr. believing that the health inspector is dead and trying to hide the "body".
* BreakTheCutie: Just like [=SpongeBob=] himself, Leni Loud breaks down crying after the costumer harshly berates her for forgetting her drink in "Pizza Delivery".
* ChildProdigy: Lisa is still a genius, and Lena, who's her age, appears to be just as much of a genius if her technology is anything to go by.
* CompanionCube: In "The Great Dog Race", Leni keeps a doll as a "pet" named Ms. Cutie.
* CoincidentalAccidentalDisguise: In "Loud Borg", Lincoln mistakes Lisa for a robot as she has batteries in her pocket and ketchup covering her glasses (the robots in Lincoln's horror movie had red eyes).
* CopycatMockery:
** In "Missing Boo-Boo Bear", Lincoln and Clyde mock Bobby by imitating him to get Lori to chase them, unlike "Texas", the episode it was based on, where the characters mock a whole state as opposed to a specific person.
** In "Welcome to the Shroud House", Lena tells Darcy not to backsass her but Darcy mockingly copies Lena.
* CryingCritters: Cinnamon the bunny in "Rock-a-Bye Bunny" cries.
* DarknessVonGothickName: Lisa's nemesis is Lena ''Shroud''.
* DecompositeCharacter: Many of the Spongebob characters' traits and roles are spread out among the Loud House cast.
* EarWorm: InUniverse in "Music Virus" where Luna and Sam get songs in their heads.
* EdibleThemeNaming: Junior from "Rock-a-Bye Bivalve" is now a rabbit named ''Cinnamon''.
* EverybodyLaughsEnding: "Lola Lives Again" ends with everyone laughing.
* FantasticVoyagePlot: In "The Loudtastic Voyage", Lincoln and Leni shrink and go inside Luna's body to retrieve her flute reed.
* FictionalBoardGame: "Dirty Mouth" (a parody of "Sailor Mouth") has the twins play Laundry Chutes and Ladders, which is just like Escalators and Eels from the Sponge Bob episode but with different objects.
* FusionDance: In "Lona Loud", the twins, and then eventually all the Louds ''but'' the twins, end up fused together.
* GaggingOnYourWords: Just like Squidward, Lori physically has trouble saying the words "sorry" and "apologise" in "Fools in April".
* GenderFlip:
** The male boxers from "Krabby Land" are females in "Flippy Land".
** The mean costumer from "Pizza Delivery" is made into a teenage girl here.
** [=SpongeBob=] is male, but he's sometimes portrayed by Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lana, or Lola.
** Squidward is male, but sometimes gets portrayed by Lori or Luna.
** Patrick is male but sometimes gets portrayed by Luan, Leni, or Lola.
** Sandy Cheeks is female but once got portrayed by Liam.
** Mr. Krabs is male, but he sometimes gets portrayed by Lori or Lisa.
** Larry the snail is now a female rabbit named Mary.
* HatesBaths: "Charles Takes a Bath" is a parody of "Gary Takes a Bath" where Charles is the one to hate taking baths.
* HowUnscientific:
** Some chapters feature ghosts, especially that of Great-Grandma Harriet, who usually plays the Flying Dutchman.
** In "Royal Bottom", some trolls show up at one point.
* IAmNotWeasel: In "Have You Seen This Frog?", Hops is mistaken for a toad.
* IncredibleShrinkingMan: In one of the Ace Savvy chapters, everyone in Royal Woods gets shrunk from a shrinking device attached to Ace Savvy's belt. Lisa grows them all back... except for Lena.
* InnocentSwearing: "Dirty Mouth" is a parody of "Sailor Mouth" and is about the twins learning a swear word and not knowing what it means.
* ItWasADarkAndStormyNight: "Nasty Lynn-sagna" begins with a dark and stormy night, however, the events are being told via flashback, so the story actually takes place on a sunny day.
* KidsPreferBoxes: In "Kiddie Box", the twins buy a telescope, but then play in the box instead.
* KidsShouldntWatchHorrorFilms: In "Loud Borg", Lincoln is the one to be scared of robots after watching a horror movie.
* KissingInATree: In one of the Ace Savvy chapters, someone says, "Joey and Becky sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!".
* LamePunReaction: In "A Lori Through Time", Luan-o-Tron makes a pun involving nuts, but the other robots groan.
* LazyBum: In "Rock-a-Bye Bunny", Luan calls her "work" tiring, even though it's just watching [=YouTube=].
* LeftTheBackgroundMusicOn: Just like in "Clams", the episode it was based on, in "A Shark Tale", the suspenseful music is being played by an orchestra.
* LightbulbJoke: One of the jokes in "Southern Jokes" is "Why does it take more than one Southern to change a lightbulb? Because they're so dang stupid!".
* ALizardNamedLiz:
** Christopher from "Have You Seen This Frog?" has a toad named Mr. Toadie.
** In "The Peanut Incident", the elephant is named Trunkina.
* MistakenAge:
** In one of the Ace Savvy chapters, One-Eyed Jack, a ''senior citizen'', is mistaken for a young boy.
** In "Mid-Life Crisis", Rita (who is middle aged) is mistaken for being elderly several times.
* MistakenForDying: In the "Dying for Pie" parody, Luan is the one who's mistaken for having eaten an exploding pie and being at death's door. Unlike with [=SpongeBob=] though, Luan's siblings are glad that she doesn't explode.
* MistakenForRelated: In "Rock-a-Bye Bunny" (parodying the ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' episode "Rock-a-Bye Bivalve") when Leni and Luan are taking their pet rabbit Cinnamon for a walk in a pram, a stranger mistakes them for his two mothers.
* MistakenForUndead: In "Nasty Lynn-sagna", Lincoln and Lynn Sr. think the health inspector is dead, when he's really unconscious, so when he wakes up, they think he's a zombie.
* MistakenIdentity: In "Have You Seen This Frog?", Christopher mistakes Hops for his pet toad Mr. Toadie.
* MyNewGiftIsLame: In "The Gift of Honey", Lana gives Lola a lot of honey, which the latter hates.
* TheNoseKnows: In "Nasty Lynn-sagna", Lynn Sr. can tell that the customer is a health inspector by how he smells.
* OddNameOut: The robot Louds in "A Lori Through Time" all have "tron" in their names, except Lily, who is called The Lilster.
* OneSteveLimit: Enforced when the message "Lisa, will you marry me?" is changed to "''Jenny'', will you marry me?".
* OriginalCharacter: Several characters were made up by the author.
** Christopher, the boy who adopts Hops in "Have You Seen This Frog?".
** Lena Shroud, the stand-in for Plankton.
* ParentsForADay: "Rock-a-Bye Bunny" is a parody of "Rock-a-Bye Bivalve", where Leni and Luan become temporary "parents" of a rabbit.
* {{Parody}}: Each chapter is a parody of a ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' episode with the Louds.
* PragmaticAdaptation: Sometimes, something is changed so it better fits the ''Loud House'' universe:
** In "Lifeguard Lincoln", there are kids in costumes, instead of actual sharks and sea monsters.
** In "Lynn's Little Secret", Lynn is knocked out instead of exploding like Squidward did in "Just One Bite", because it wouldn't make sense to explode from collecting toys.
** In "Wishing You Well", Mrs. Johnson wishes for a car instead of a boat, since humans don't drive boats on land. Flip also gets chased by an angry mob instead of eaten, because [[ImAHumanitarian the latter would be too disturbing]]. In addition, instead of wishing to be taller like Plankton in the original, Mr. Grouse — who is already on the tall side — wishes for a full head of hair.
** In "Pizza Delivery", the coral is replaced by wood, since coral doesn't grow on land.
** Lena wants to steal an invention, not a recipe, because Lisa, her nemesis, isn't a cook.
** In "Charles Takes a Bath", Lincoln doesn't strap a real bomb to his chest to get Charles to take a bath, only a water bomb, because he's smarter than [=SpongeBob=]. He also pretends to phone the dog pound instead of the French restaurant, since it would be out-of-character for him to imply he wanted to have his pet cooked.
** In "Wet Painters", Mr. Grouse threatens to confiscate Leni and Luan's things rather than cut their butts off, since he isn't ''that'' mean.
** In "Frankendoodle", the pencil is invented by Lisa rather than simply inexplicably existing, in "Loud Dreams", Lincoln dream-walks with one of Lisa's inventions, and in "The Abrasive Side of Lincoln", the abrasiveness is caused by a pill invented by Lisa.
** Many creatures have changed species to better befit a non-underwater setting.
** The "If we're underwater, how can there be a---?" gag is cut and replaced with the fire simply going out, since obviously, the Loud twins are not underwater.
** In "Lona Loud", the twins, fused together, dance instead of playing clarinet, since Lola can't do that.
** In "Scaredy Boy", Rusty's brain doesn't get exposed like [=SpongeBob=]'s; he just becomes bald.
** In "Flippy Love", Mr. Johnson dies in an accident rather than being harpooned, since humans obviously don't tend to get harpooned.
** "Missing Boo-Boo Bear" is about Lori missing Bobby, not anyone missing their hometown, because there are no out-of-towners in ''The Loud House''.
** Davy Jones's Locker is replaced with a pit of trash called the Stinky Pit.
** The "F-U-N Song" lyrics are changed to mention ice cream cones (instead of sand licking) and a city (instead of the sea).
* RawEggsMakeYouStronger: Lincoln feeds Charles raw eggs when training him "because they're cliche".
* TheRival: Lena Shroud is Lisa Loud rival.
* SayingSoundEffectsOutLoud: In "A Lori Through Time", Luc-Tron says, "Sigh".
* ShoutOut: Luan makes a joke to Mary "What do you call an insect crossed with a rabbit? WesternAnimation/BugsBunny!".
* TheShrink: "Lona Loud" ends with Lola at the psychiatrist.
* SiblingFusion: The Loud twins end up fused together because of one of the inventions of their ChildProdigy sister Lisa. They look like ConjoinedTwins and even their outfit is a cross between their outfits-- Lana's overalls, Lola's sash, one of Lana's shoes, and one of Lola's. At the end of the chapter, all their siblings, plus their parents, become fused with them. [[SnapBack They're fine in the next chapter, though.]]
* SomethingTron: The robot versions of the Louds seen in "A Lori Through Time" are Linc-o-Tron, Lor-Tron, Len-oni-Tron, Lunar-Tron, Luan-o-Tron, Lynn Jr. Tron, Luc-Tron, Lano-Tron, Lol-Lol-Tron, and Lis-o-Tron. The only one who doesn't have "tron" in her name is Lily, whose robot counterpart is The Lilster.
* SpellMyNameWithAThe: In "A Lori Through Time", the robot Lily is named The Lilster.
* SpotTheImposter: In "Imitation Loud", Lisa's siblings have to determine who is her and who is Lena.
* StockYuck: Luan and Flip hate lima beans.
* TemptingFate: In "Life of Crime", Lana hopes the fire will last, only for the fire to go out.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: Mary the rabbit wears a bow.
* ThreateningShark: In "A Shark Tale", a shark eats Lynn Sr.'s paycheck and nearly eats Lynn Sr.
* TimeTravelEpisode: In "A Lori Through Time", Lori goes to the distant future, then to caveman times.
* TorchesAndPitchforks: In "Wishing You Well", Mr. Grouse gets chased by an angry mob who are angry because he sold expired milk.
* ToyBasedCharacterization: In "Lynn's Little Secret", each Loud sister's favourite [[MyLittlePhony Princess Pony]] toy says something about her -- the bossy Lori likes a pony named Bossy Boots, [[TheFashionista Leni]] likes one named Beauty Foal, Luna the rocker likes a rocker pony, [[NonIronicClown Luan]] likes a clown pony, Lynn who likes action likes a fire-themed pony, [[{{Goth}} Lucy]] likes a black and grey pony, [[ThePigPen Lana]] likes one named Dirty Mudpie, Lola (who wears pink and likes diamonds) likes one named Pink Diamond, [[ChildProdigy Lisa]] likes one named Brainy, and baby Lily likes a baby pony.
* UnconventionalFoodUsage: In "Dirty Mouth", a woman sticks carrots in her son's ears so that [[CoverInnocentEyesAndEars he won't hear the Loud twins cussing]].
* UnsuccessfulPetAdoption: In "Ditched", Luan adopts a rabbit named Mary and a monkey named Chimpy, but Chimpy runs away and Mary is too grumpy.
* WeAreNotGoingThroughThatAgain: In the end of "Can You Spare an Action Figure", when Lincoln begins accusing Lori of putting the action figure in his pants. Clyde leaves the house.
* WhichRestroomDilemma: In "Royal Bottom", the bathrooms have question marks on them, one of which is upside down, and the inhabitants are trolls of indeterminate gender.
