''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5155714/1/Wolverines-Wendigos-and-Winchesters Wolverines, Wendigos and Winchesters]]'' is a crossover fic between ''Film/XMenFilmSeries'' (with some comic-book elements) and ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'' (season 1 through 4).

It was supposed to be your run-of-the-mill hunt for Dean Winchester. Until he meets the man with claws, and somehow ends up with a new job at Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters. THEN it starts to become complicated.

!This fanfic contains the following tropes:

* BigEater: Since his powers burn a lot of energy, Dean eats a lot and often.
* CanonWelding: The story mainly takes after the movie continuity but some elements (Stryker being a televangelist, the yellow and blue spandex suits) come from the comic-book.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Dean's main ability is ''perception-sharing'', wich mainly involves MindManipulation. It comes with a nice gift of [[TheEmpath empathy]] and the capacity to share life-energy.
* CoolTeacher: Hunter needs one single course to become this for the students at Xavier's.
* ExtranormalInstitute: Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters was created as a haven for mutants, and starts to teach how to fight against supernatural threats.
* FantasticRacism: Mutants are hated by humans and demons for being "freaks" and a menace. Ironically, they are implied to have sprung forth to ''protect'' humanity from the supernatural.
* GiverOfLameNames: Dean calls Xavier unimaginative when it comes to codenames.
* GoodParents: The Colonel and Mrs Darling, Libby's parents. They always knew their daughter was special but showed her nothing but love and support.
* ExactWords: Dean explains his BigEater metabolism by a "genetic condition". [[spoiler: Sam later uses the same words after learning he's a mutant, telling his girlfriend Jess he does carry the gene responsible for Dean's metabolism issue.]]
** When a demon possesses a Purifier's corpse, he insists he was at the hospital. The other guy easily believes he was there as a patient rather than in the morgue.
* HealingHands: [[spoiler: Sam's power.]]
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Perception-sharing sounds quite girly... except that Dean can whip a mob in a frenzy, make himself so insignifiant he's basically unseen and feel demonic presence.
* HotLibrarian: Libby is acknowledged as such by her boyfriend and the boyfriend's brother.
* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: William Stryker stands out as a particularly repulsive example, murdering his wife and newborn child for being "unclean". Demons are supposed to be monstruous and prey on innocents, but people such as the good reverend can be plain ''nuts''.
* InTheBlood: John ruefully states Winchesters are naturally pig-headed. For Sam, it was so pronounced it led to their falling out. Also, they seems to like blondes - Mary Winchester, Elizabeth Darling and Jessica Moore are all fair-headed and they end up marrying them.
** Libby inherited [[TheKlutz her clumsiness]] from her mother.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Mr Moore energetically describes the "mutant menace" to Scott, Logan and Dean - members of the staff at Xavier's. Talk about awkward...
* {{Irony}}: Reverend William Stryker blindly follows a being he believes to be an angel, but anyone well-versed in myths and legends immediately realizes the being is actually a demon. So much for purity, eh?
** Demons find quite funny that humans hate and fear mutants so much they would brand them unnatural and a threat, since mutants are a ''natural defence'' for humanity against the supernatural.
* KryptoniteFactor: As well as the known demon weaknesses such as salt and holy water, adamantium is revealed to be particularly dangerous to them, as a demon’s wounds start burning the moment Logan stabs the man with his claws and the demon panics when Logan identifies the metal that they’re made of.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After trying to murder twelve-year-old Kitty Pryde on ''live-television'', not only Stryker loses a heavy hunk of goodwill, he's going to be tried.
* LogicalWeakness: Demons are associated with fire, meaning they utterly loath and fear [[AnIcePerson Bobby Drake]] whose cryokinesis is the perfect counter for them.
* OffingTheOffspring: Reverend Stryker murdered his wife and newborn child for being "demonic mutants" and decides to encourage people to destroy mutants everywhere with his Christian broadcast. He goes as far as trying to murder a twelve-year-old girl in front of his audience.
* PapaWolf: Scott Summers. He personally went to retrieve Bobby Drake when the teen disappeared and was ready to beat a Purifier to a pulp for breaking into the Institute and potentially endangering the students.
* ParentalSubstitute: Dean assumed the ''maternal'' role for Sam. [[INeedAFreakingDrink Both brothers decide to drink themselves silly]] when this little bombshell drops on them.
* RunningGag:
** When meeting Beast, Winchesters and affiliates' knee-jerk reaction is trying to kill him.
** Every time a bet occurs about Dean, Scott Summers loses it.
* TheSocialExpert: Dean ''always'' manages to fit in his surroundings. His "Urban Camouflage" course aims to teach his tricks to the students.
* StandardFiftiesFather: Mr Moore, Jessica's father. He holds conservative views such as lamenting the current decline of housewives, the need for youth to learn order at a military institute and the distrust towards an ethnic minority - here, the mutants. Still, he won't condone extremist opinions such as Stryker's.
* TakeThat:
** Dean takes a look at Logan's blue-and-yellow spandex suit and laughs himself sick.
** Bigoted, hateful William Stryker is actually following a demon. Could it be more transparent?
* ThereAreNoTherapists: Averted as hell. Xavier's Institute has Hank, Standford has Dr Maddon and Jess is currently studying to be one.
* TomatoInTheMirror: Dean receives a teaching job at Xavier's Institute in spite of not showing any (evident) powers. Then his blood test comes back - and he's not fitting in just because he has a knack for it, he's fitting in because he has an active X-gene.
* TrueLoveIsExceptional: After a lifetime dating cheap girls from the stripper kind, Dean settles with a librarian.
* WhatTheHellHero:
** Sam left his father and brother behind to go at Standford and didn't bother contacting them in any shape for over one year. Even his girlfriend isn't impressed.
** Xavier tends to keep information close to his chest. Dean really doesn't like when said information is about his family.
