The fact that dragons are even needed for transporting the weapons defeats their purpose of being used for when dragons are unavailable. And with eight dragons, one might as well not have the Siegebreakers at all. This is even acknowledged in-universe, with many characters preferring the comparatively BoringButPractical method of having dragons smash through enemy fortification.
