----
* A lot of ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' villains have an evil laugh, either upon their reveal or during their breakdown.
** Special points go to [[spoiler: Damon Gant]], whose evil laugh precedes his reveal as actually evil.
** And then there's [[spoiler: Calisto Yew]], who [[TheHyena won't ''stop'' laughing]].
** Honorable mention to [[spoiler:Kristoph Gavin]], whose laugh was so haunting it "lingered in the halls of justice for what seemed like hours".
* ''VideoGame/AdibooMagicalPlayland'': Buzzy Galump laughs evilly whenever he succeeds.
* A sound clip of an evil laugh closes out Gordon's cut-scenes in ''VideoGame/TheAdventuresOfBayouBilly''.
* After defeating [[BigBad Neff]] in ''VideoGame/AlteredBeast1988'', every boss battle with the exception of the last ends with him stealing your power orbs and laughing maniacally.
* ''VideoGame/AngryBirds Star Wars'', for some reason gives the Darth Vader pig one, even though the actual characters isn't heard laughing. Does this most times he appears even if he's defeated.
* Kira Daidohji of ''VideoGame/ArcanaHeart''. A [[ImprobableAge pre-pubescent]] LargeHam MadScientist with dreams of [[TakeOverTheWorld World Domination]]? This trope is practically required!
* In ''VideoGame/BaldursGate'', [[spoiler: [[BigBad Sarevok]] from the first game is available in the final expansion as an optional party member.]] His maniacal laughter is one of his battlecries and he'll sometime throw his evil laugh when you give him orders.
* Gruntilda in ''VideoGame/BanjoKazooie''. She gave out a rather impressive evil cackle whenever you hit the "Save and Quit" option in the menu.
* Creator/CrispinFreeman gets a chance to let out an over-the-top evil laugh as Heughes in ''VideoGame/BatenKaitosOrigins''. He's not the only one, actually; quite a few of the villains in the series let out some seriously mad {{Evil Laugh}}s.
* The ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamAsylum'' and ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity'' games have the Joker, [[LaughingMad naturally]]. Joker is not the only one; Scarecrow gives him a run for his money with his creepy giggles.
* Susie Campbell does this a few times in ''VideoGame/BendyAndTheInkMachine:''
** During her introduction as a real-life Alice Angel, there's a part between her JumpScare and the lights coming back on where she laughs.
** At the end of Chapter 3, as the elevator is ascending, she's monologing about heaven. She tells Henry that she thinks she'll never get to see it and starts sobbing. However, her sobs quickly turn into evil laughter and she reveals [[spoiler: that she had no intention of letting Henry and Boris escape because she wants Boris's insides. Then she [[ElevatorFailure causes the elevator to plummet with those two on it]]]].
* In ''VideoGame/BioShock1'', [[spoiler:Atlas/Frank Fontaine]] bursts into an Evil Laugh once you have [[spoiler:killed Andrew Ryan and shut off the self-destruct.]] Arguably, this is also a moment of [[spoiler:NiceJobBreakingItHero]], although one built into the game's plot.
** In what is probably the strangest example ever seen, the ''vending machines'' have a truly unsettling evil laugh.
*** Wait till you see the one in Hephestus that is broken and lobs grenades at you.
* Any appearance of BigBad Dr. Goldfire in the ''VideoGame/BlakeStone'' series is accompanied by his trademark "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!"
* ''Franchise/BlazBlue''
** Terumi Yuuki, befitting of his {{Troll}} archetype, enjoys his EvilLaugh all the time, especially when mocking his prey's miseries.
** Relius Clover and Professor Kokonoe are both prone to this. They are {{Mad Scientist}}s after all. Haku-men is prone to this as well, especially in the Japanese dub, which is strange given how he's an AntiHero, not a villain ([[{{Jerkass}} though he is a bit of a dick]]).
** Terumi ratchets up the laughter in ''Chronophantasma'', and it is ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j65pU6h1xoY scary.]]''
** Speaking of ''Chronophantasma'', if you get into a fight with the AxCrazy BloodKnight Azrael and he ever starts doing this, you should just drop everything and ''[[AdvancingBossOfDoom run like hell]]''.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Blood}}'', Caleb sometimes lets out an evil laugh after blowing something (or someone) up spectacularly.
* In ''Blue's Journey'' for the Platform/NeoGeo, the Daruma Tribe's invasion in the introduction is followed by the Daruma Emperor popping up to say "GAHAHAHAHAHAHA."
* ''VideoGame/{{Bomberman}}'':
** Bagular's evil laugh in ''VideoGame/BombermanHero'' is...Well, it's weird, creepy, and strangely awesome at the same time. [[http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=M6Pec2FXBeo Seriously.]]
--->''Ehhh heh heh heh heh...''
** Then there's Rukifellth from ''VideoGame/Bomberman64TheSecondAttack'', whose evil laugh can probably be considered a VerbalTic.
--->'''Rukifellth:''' Once I regain my earthly body, I shall create a new cosmos. MY cosmos. A cosmos of chaos where only the strong shall survive! Ha ha... Ha ha... Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!

It's not much fun making speeches about my plans without an audience... Ha ha...Ha ha...Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!
** [[LightIsNotGood Zoniha]] also gets into the laughing game.
* In ''VideoGame/CaptainAmericaAndTheAvengers'', Red Skull has one. Like many voices in the game, it comes out sounding rather silly.
* ''Franchise/{{Castlevania}}'s'' version of Dracula ''loves'' doing this, and since he's voiced by Creator/NorioWakamoto, it makes it all the more enjoyable. It's also apparently a mandatory thing for the Lord of Darkness, because [[spoiler: Soma Cruz]] does it, too.
** ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaOrderOfEcclesia'' has one too in the form of [[spoiler:Albus]], who laughs maniacally at complete random during the fight.
** ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaCurseOfDarkness'' has Isaac, who has an amazing crazy laugh in both the Japanese and English voice tracks. The one in battle is bad enough (because he's about to kablam you across the arena with a certain attack), but in a particular cutscene ([[spoiler:when Dracula brainjacks him and shanks Trevor Belmont]]), it's just -- yeah. Don't play the game in a dark room when you approach that point. Isaac's English voice actor is, incidentally, Liam 'Also Lezard Valeth' O'Brien.
*** Dracula has a wicked snarly cackle in that game too.
** [[spoiler:Barlowe]]'s laugh, especially when he [[spoiler:frees Dracula's soul.]]
** Patrick Stewart, playing as the Necromancer, did a rather hilarious evil laugh in ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaLordsOfShadow'', probably due to his not being accustomed to playing a bad guy.
* ''VideoGame/TheCatInTheHat'': Mr. Quinn occasionally exercises his evil laughter during his speaking parts.
* In ''Cauldron 2'' for the Commodore 64, the witches have a good, hearty, and, by today's standards, painfully artificial sounding laugh each time the player dies. And it happens quite a lot, this being a NintendoHard game.
* In ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger'':
** If you choose to sit down on the evil-looking throne in the Giant's Claw, [[spoiler:really the Tyranno Lair long after Azala's defeat,]] the character in the front of the party does an EvilLaugh.
** The sewer sidequest has a villainous duo laughing it up as the party approaches:
--->'''Guard:''' Let's show 'em! HEE HEE!\
'''Sir Krawlie:''' Just let them come through here! They'll be chopped liver! Hahahahahaha!\
'''Guard:''' Heeheeheeheehee!\
'''Sir Krawlie:''' Harharharhar!\
'''Guard:''' HAHAHAHAHA!\
'''Sir Krawlie:''' HEEEEHEEEEHEEE!\
'''Guard:''' ! ''(flees)''
* Wannabe mad scientist Vernon Von Grun frequently does this in ''VideoGame/CityOfVillains'' when you report back to him after a mission. It is made funnier by him asking you if you can tell that he's been working on the laugh, the laugh changing a few times, him asking you to join him in the laugh, and once breaking into a cough mid-laugh.
** There is also an evil laugh emote for the players; though it lacks sound, it does go through physical motions that would make Doctor Frankenstein proud.
* Parodied/subverted in ''VideoGame/TheClueFinders4thGradeAdventuresThePuzzleOfThePyramid'':
-->'''Alistair Loveless:''' AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! AAAHAHAA-- *cough, choke, gag* I swallowed my mint.
* ''VideoGame/CommandAndConquer'':
** The evil AI CABAL in the ''VideoGame/CommandAndConquerTiberianSun'' expansion pack ''Firestorm'' will, occasionally, do the mechanized Evil Laugh in the middle of a mission to taunt you.
** Kane himself indulges in this trope during the intro to the GDI campaign of ''Tiberian Sun''. Being the MagnificentBastard that he is, however, his laugh is a confident chuckle instead of a crazed cackle.
** Tanya from the ''[[VideoGame/CommandAndConquerRedAlertSeries Red Alert]]'' series likes doing this a lot, and, in at least one [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIRPcICB-iY promotion video]] of ''VideoGame/RedAlert3'', Emperor Yoshiro and Premier Anatoly Cherdenko do this together with Tanya.
** In the [[UltimateShowdownofUltimateDestiny General's Challenge]] of ''VideoGame/CommandAndConquerGenerals: Zero Hour'', most of the generals you face has one of these, of varying evilness and insanity. [[NukeEm General Tao]] in particular has an impressively unhinged chuckle:
--->'''General Tao:''' Heh heheh-heh heh-heh...
%%* ''VideoGame/{{Contra}}'':
%%** Colonal Bahamut in ''Contra: Hard Corps'' and Master Contra in ''Neo Contra'' have this in their first appearances.
%%** Tiberius and Leviathan do these in ''VideoGame/HardCorpsUprising''.
** [[spoiler: In the bad ending of ''Shattered Soldier'', the Triumvirate does this when they destroy the Galuga Archipelago, saying that they now hold the world in the palm of their hand.]]
* In ''VideoGame/TheCount'' for the Platform/Vic20, Dracula in his bat form will laugh mockingly at you if he sees you after nightfall before flying away. [[WhyDontYouJustShootHim For some reason he doesn't take human form and try to bite you until you go to sleep]].
* Lampshaded in ''VideoGame/TheCurseOfMonkeyIsland''. During Guybrush's first encounter with Murray, the Demonic Talking Skull, Murray busts out a laugh and Guybrush asks him about it. Murray (whom Guybrush had just blown apart) says that there's a fish nibbling on his foot somewhere and it really tickles.
** Above lampshading happens in the first few minutes of the game. The trope is played straight in the rest of the game. He ''really'' likes to let us know who he is.
--->'''Murray:''' I AM MURRAY, THE EVIL DEMONIC SKULL! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
*** King Andre, the smuggler leader of Skull Island, has a fairly impressive evil cackle that he breaks into for no apparent reason. Guybrush eventually asks him to stop, as it's fairly unnerving.
* Jedah of ''VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}}'' is normally unflappable and very polite, but occasionally will indulge in a bit of mad laughter; most notably in one of his supers when he drags you underground and has hands of blood beat the crap out of you, or during one of his victory poses ''[[EyeScream while gouging his eyes out!]]'' This aspect of his is actually deconstructed in his ending in ''VideoGame/CapcomFightingEvolution'', where he's too distracted by laughing his head off at [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt the armageddon he caused]] to notice [[VideoGame/DevilMayCry Dante]] having turned up with the clear intent to kill him.
* In ''VideoGame/DarkSouls'', Lautrec ends all of his dialogue with an EvilLaugh. It's not surprising that he turns out to be one of the few truly evil characters in the game.
** "[[IronicNickname Trusty]]" [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder Patches]] has an assortment of evil laughs, ranging from a suspiciously evil chuckle, to a full-blown diabolical laugh once he kicks you into a pit.
* Parodied in ''VideoGame/DayOfTheTentacle'' for uncontrollable laughs. "Ha. Ha. Ha."
** Subverted with "Chuckle chuckle", spoken out loud by Old Purple Tentacle.
* ''VideoGame/{{Deltarune}}'':
** Lancer has "Ho ho ho!" To which Susie promply makes fun of him for, calling him a "baby Santa Claus." Lancer somewhat betters it later:
-->'''Lancer:''' AHHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! [[CloudCuckooLander Merry Christmas!]]
-->'''Susie:''' (I guess that's KIND OF an improvement...)
** Queen has this to an art form. It even acts as an EstablishingCharacterMoment, which is for some reason [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xsaAydYPIM listed in the OST]]. She later upgrades it to a "(Sort Of Regal Mostly Cruel Laughter)."
* ''VideoGame/{{Diablo}}''[='s=] Mephisto and Baal each have one. Mephisto's is pretty nice, and in context works wonderfully ("[[YouAreTooLate You're too late!]]. '''BWAHAHAHAHAAA!'''"), but Baal himself [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kC9WFvU9-4 takes the cake with his own]]. Having the VoiceOfTheLegion helps enormously when giving an evil cackle.
** Zoltun Kulle in ''VideoGame/DiabloIII'' has a very creepy one that you hear at the end of every conversation with him.
* In ''VideoGame/DiceyDungeons'', one of your possible attacks [[spoiler:as the Jester in the Parallel Universe and Bonus Round]] is called "Evil Laugh", which does double damage if the enemy is Cursed.
* Wizpig, the BigBad of ''VideoGame/DiddyKongRacing'', loves this trope. It seems every second something appears to go right for him, he just feels the need to let out loud, diabolical laughter.
* ''Franchise/{{Disgaea}}'':
** Laharl from ''VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness''. Upon officially becoming an EvilOverlord (well, ''[[NobleDemon mostly]]'' evil), he even spends the next few days ''perfecting'' it.
** It comes to the point that whenever Laharl shows up in the sequels, the first indication you have that he has appeared is his (very recognizable) Evil Laugh piercing the air.
** Badly attempted by evil clones of Kurtis in the sequel, ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 2|CursedMemories}}''. Given the fact that their speech is more stilted than William Shatner, it comes out as a robotic "HA hee HA HA."
** Like Laharl, Mao, the main character of ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 3|AbsenceOfJustice}}'', will actually begin his respective turn with a humorously quick but evil "Mwuhu-haha!" What make it funnier is hearing it from the same voice actor that does Edward Elric in the English dub of ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'', Vic Mignogna. In the Japanese, it's loud but simple "HA HA HA!"
** In ''VisualNovel/DisgaeaInfinite'', Laharl and Mao try to brag about themselves while punctuating it with their SignatureLaugh. As the exchange continues, both of them drop the bragging and just straight up try to out-laugh each other. By the end, the two are clearly straining themselves to get another laugh out despite having lost a lot of air and straining their throat in the process.
** Appropriate for one seeking to be a final boss, Desco of ''VideoGame/{{Disgaea 4|A Promise Unforgotten}}'' uses a short, simple "Fuhahaha!". The evil factor of it is watered down a bit by her cutesy voice, though. There's also Valvatorez, who uses a calm "Hm hm hm..."
** Few have a more evil and constantly used laugh than Overlord Zetta, he will even laugh like a maniac during his signature [[NukeEm Zetta Beam]] attack.
** Honestly, anyone with a good enough title will be subject to this trope, especially the Overlords in the ''Franchise/{{Disgaea}}'' series and ''VideoGame/MakaiKingdom''.
* In ''VideoGame/DisneyMagicKingdoms'', during a ''WesternAnimation/TurningRed'' sidequest, Priya does an evil laugh when it's revealed that it's her turn to write a chapter of a RoundRobin fanfic.
* In ''VideoGame/DonkeyKong64'', this is done by both the BigBad King K. Rool and the insanely creepy third boss Mad Jack (who's laughter is part of the background music).
** Oddly enough, it's also done by Bleak in ''[[VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry3DixieKongsDoubleTrouble Donkey Kong Country 3]]'', when he's hit by one of the Kong's attacks.
** The most infamously {{Nightmare Fuel}}ish of ''VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry'' evil laughs is that of the aptly-named Kackle, the skeletal Kremling ghost from ''[[VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountry2DiddysKongQuest Donkey Kong Country 2]]''.
%%* Very prominent in ''VideoGame/Dota2''. Particularly worth a mention are those of [[http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/7/74/Chaknight_laugh_01.mp3 Chaos Knight]], [[http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/5/52/Vipe_laugh_02.mp3 Viper]], [[http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/9/90/Slar_laugh_05.mp3 Slardar]], [[http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/4/40/Clinkz_laugh_03.mp3 Clinkz]], [[http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/e/e5/Bane_laugh_05.mp3 Bane]], [[http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/7/76/Lycan_laugh_03.mp3 Lycanthrope]] and [[http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/4/4f/Dro_laugh_08.mp3 Drow Ranger]].
* ''Franchise/DragonAge'':
** Although he's pretty completely morally upstanding, Alistair of ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'' '''can''' do an impressive Evil Laugh anyway. (Unless he spoils it by coughing in the middle, as he does once.)
** Played much straighter, some of the darkspawn have [[EvilSoundsDeep extremely deep]], growling, guttural laughs.
** The Mother does this at the tail end of her first cutscene in ''Awakening''. It's definitely FanDisservice and ''intentional'' horror because her bare breasts jiggle while she does it. All eight of them.
* ''VideoGame/DwarfFortress'': Dwarves will "loose a roaring laughter, fell and terrible" when they enter a Fell Mood, during which they will murder another dwarf and use their corpse to make an artifact.
* ''VideoGame/DynastyWarriors'' and ''VideoGame/SamuraiWarriors'' both feature some characters sporting some pretty evil laughs. While one could probably credit UsefulNotes/OdaNobunaga with a pretty cold chuckle, it's [[TheStarscream Sima Yi]] of Wei who takes the cake, with a gleefully wicked laugh from practically every person who's voiced him. Probably achieves its height in ''Dynasty Warriors 5''[='s=] ExpansionPack, where he cackles loudly and dismissively at an enemy general's corpse in a cutscene, and several of his moves are punctuated by evil laughter and [[YouFool constant use of the word 'fool.']]
* In ''VideoGame/EldenRing'', one of Godrick the Grafted's main tells is his insane cackle: he can't help but burst into maniacal laughter when he's winding up for a ''big'' attack. [[SanityHasAdvantages This doesn't do him any favors]], since it's a blatant warning to the player to get ready to dodge, block, parry, or otherwise get ready to deal with the assault and exploit the opening.
* In ''Franchise/TheElderScrolls'' series, Molag Bal, the [[OurGodsAreDifferent Daedric Prince]] of [[TheCorrupter Domination and Corruption]] has a particularly sinister evil laugh, in addition to his [[EvilSoundsDeep deep, booming voice]]. ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsOnline Online]]'' provides a great example of both the laugh and of Bal's evil intentions, as he serves as the game's BigBad.
* In ''VideoGame/EmpireAtWar'', the ending cutscene for the Imperial campaign has this from Emperor Palpatine (naturally.) Lampshaded by the subtitles:
-->'''Emperor''': *Evil cackling laughter*
* As expected, your character in ''VideoGame/EvilGenius'' has one; it can be heard when you choose to "taunt" a captured agent.
* ''VideoGame/{{Extrapower}}'' gives Dark Force a deep evil laugh that punctuates most scenes he's in. Astral gate is also prone to the occasional Mwahahaha.
* In ''VideoGame/FableI'', your character can perform an evil laugh as an expression if he's renowned enough.
* Predating ''KOF'', ''VideoGame/FatalFury'' had Geese Howard, whose evil laughs ranged from small chuckles to even '''pulling off maniacal laughter when he lost''' ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO0uo5LKCdc see around the 6:19 mark]]).
** While it still feels evil, ''2002 UM'' Rugal's evil laugh sounded like it came from an aging man.
*** It's not ''as'' great as it was back in ''[='98=]'', but you also have to remember that the sound team added a few extra effects to Rugal's laugh back then.
%%* ''VideoGame/FightingForce'' Has Zeng {{TheBigBad}} who has one.
* ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'':
** Kefka of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI'' had [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyZoe-r9qb0 a grand evil laugh]] of his own, instantly identifiable by anyone who's heard it. This is especially impressive as the game has [[{{Leitmotif}} no vocal tracks]]. In fact, his evil laugh was so well-known that he actually named one of the subtropes for an evil laugh: LaughingMad. Note that Kefka has also been added under the entry for UnevilLaugh, showing that sometimes this can be [=YMMV=].
** In ''VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy'', he gets to laugh at the heroes together with Exdeath from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyV'' during the opening of Shade Impulse. Kefka's high-pitched howling and Exdeath's deep belly laughter mix together well.
** In the same game, if you are playing as someone who is not the Emperor [[MirrorMatch (or if you're playing an Emperor vs Emperor match)]] and you hear an Evil Laugh, that is your cue to [[TalkToTheFist chase down the source and pound his face in]] [[ColonyDrop before he casts Starfall on yours]]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWD2TktjNM8 "Ahahahahahaha! HEAVENS! * grunt* WAUGH! HUAH!!"]]
** In ''[[{{Prequel}} Dissidia 012]]'', one of Exdeath's victory quotes consists of him actually saying "Mwa-ha-ha."
** Hojo from the ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII'' games comes from the "sick psycho" school of evil laughter. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg66mdGHSHs Here's a sample.]] And then there's "Kya ha ha" (Scarlet) and "Gya ha ha." (Heidegger)
** ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'':
*** Ultimecia has an evil laugh when you finally encounter her in her OminousFloatingCastle and lets out another one when you fight her soon after.
*** The eleven sorceresses the player must fight during 'Time Compression' also have evil laughs. The second group of sorceresses, in particular, have laughter that is eerily warped and inhuman.
** Tonberries from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyX'' will let out a very sinister and unsettling laugh when you encounter them. Combine that with their CuteIsEvil look and their UnflinchingWalk and you've got yourself some terror.
%%* Damnd in ''VideoGame/FinalFight''.
* ''Franchise/FireEmblem'':
** In a non-villainous example, [[LadyOfBlackMagic Tharja]] in ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'' has a pretty scary one. Unlike others, she isn't very loud with it, but the result is even more creepy.
---> "Mmmh-mmmh-mmmh-mmmh..."
** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'':
*** Selkie laughs crazily when she's about to score a critical hit.
*** Garon's laugh is so blatantly evil, the captions literally state "(laughs evilly)" when you confront him at the end of ''Birthright''.
** In ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemGaiden Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia]]'', Berkut lets out a genuinely terrifying laugh when [[spoiler:he finally snaps and sacrifices his fiancee's soul to Duma in exchange for more power]].
** In ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses'', Hubert, whose evilness is debatable though even his allies think he's pretty sinister, has a wide range of evil laughs. Sometimes it's low and sinister but other times it's hilariously over the top. It's hinted that he might be doing this on purpose.
* In ''VideoGame/FistOfTheNorthStarKensRage'', quite a few characters possess evil laughs, which is not unheard of for the series. However, what ''is'' notable is that [[SpellMyNameWithAnS Souther/Thouzer]] not only has a spectacular evil laugh which can be activated at will, but that it's also ''weaponized.'' Tapping the special move button makes him cross his arms in a BadassArmFold and laugh evilly, while spontaneously making everyone within about ten feet of him [[LudicrousGibs explode into bloody chunks]] without actively touching them.
* ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys1'': Freddy himself has [[EvilSoundsDeep disturbingly deep]] evil laughter that can be heard throughout the pizzeria. It has gameplay significance in signaling that Freddy is active and moving, so when you hear that laugh, know that the [[BearsAreBadNews big bad bear]] is up to something.
* ''VideoGame/Flea2020'': The shaded villain of the series, when he deploys another enemy after [[PlayerCharacter Henry]], he lets loose an evil sounding laugh.
* ''VideoGame/FreedomPlanet'' gives us evil laughs from obvious sources like Brevon and Serpentine, but [[VideoGame/FreedomPlanet2 the sequel]] has more sources: Merga, Aaa, [[spoiler:Serpentine again, and Milla of all people]].
* The Commodore 64 version of ''VideoGame/Ghostbusters1984'' also has a decent evil laugh upon loading, though the voice doesn't belong to any character.
* Nognir, the second episode boss from ''VideoGame/GodOfThunder'', gives an impressive digitized laugh when you enter his lair.
* [[PsychoForHire Destoroyah]] in ''Videogame/GodzillaUnleashed'' will start laughing after he defeats his enemies.
* [[Film/LiveAndLetDie Baron Samedi]] in the Egyptian stage in ''[[VideoGame/GoldenEye GoldenEye (N64)]]'' cackles a lot.
%%* It occurs in ''VideoGame/{{Gorf}}''.
* The final boss of ''[[VideoGame/{{Gradius}} Gradius Gaiden]]'' is the only one in the series to possess one. He laughs at the player while taunting him, though he's as powerless as every other final boss.
* ''VideoGame/GrandiaII''[='s=] Melfice loves to laugh evilly. So much so that in battles with him, he never actually stops laughing.
* Father Grigori in ''VideoGame/HalfLife2'' is not evil, just crazy, but laughs evilly anyway as he shoots zombies.
* From ''Franchise/{{Halo}}'', there is but one maniacal laugh, but considering who it comes from, it's creepy. Y'know how, villainous as he was, the Flood Gravemind always seemed fairly calm and convincingly sane for a monster in any previous talks or encounters? Well, all of that is thrown away right after the final obstacle to his plan dies in ''VideoGame/{{Halo 3}}'', and he lets rip a spectacular one. It's even worse when you remember (and hear) that even his voice is composite in nature. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvROPTR12oQ Listen to it here]], and crank up the volume after the 'obstacle' dies.
** He has a knack for doing this when his victory is (supposedly) assured. The Librarian mentions in the ''Halo 3'' terminals that at the climactic final point in the Forerunners' war against the Flood, the Flood were... flooding every channel they could find with laughter. Imagine... trillions and trillions of assimilated aliens of countless species all laughing with the distorted, horrific voice of the Flood.
* Leopold Charles Anthony Weasleby the Third from ''VideoGame/HenryHatsworthInThePuzzlingAdventure'' is unique in the fact that his [[SpeakingSimlish Simlish Speak]] is ''mostly compromised'' of variation of his maniacal cackle and sneer. [[spoiler:Cole actually has a similar one, which is not surprising since Weasleby is actually a robot that Cole created to antagonize Henry.]]
* ''VideoGame/HouseOfTheDead'':
** "Hm-hm-hm-hm-hmmmm. People of the AMS. I am Goldman!"
** Dr. Curien, the staple MadScientist villain, gets a rather memorable one in the third instalment. As the mid-chapter cutscenes up until that point had depicted him as a benevolent scientist seeking a desperate cure for his son's illness, once he lets the laughter loose, you know he's gone bonkers.
* ''VideoGame/IggysReckinBalls'' has both Narlie and Skully. Narlie's laugh is a very deep "Huh huh huh huh...", while Skully's is a high-pitched, fast cackle.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Iji}}'', [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Assassin Asha and Iosa the Invincible]] both laugh gleefully while trying to kill Iji.
* The Commodore 64 port of the 1984 computer game ''VideoGame/ImpossibleMission'' is one of the earliest examples of digitized speech in a game. The villain's evil laugh signified that the clock had run out and the game was over. (Conversely, if the player successfully completed the game, he gave a kind of BigNo.)
* Parodied in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx-hOwy3vF4 outtakes]] of ''VideoGame/JakAndDaxterThePrecursorLegacy''.
--> '''Gol''': Okay, ''sickly'' evil laughs. Hahahaha. That's too stupid. [=HahahaHAha=]! That sucks. What's an evil laugh? HA-- *cough cough* *giggles*
* ''VideoGame/{{Killer7}}''. Every single enemy in that game has a nightmare-inducing evil laugh. Creepy, twisted, truly completely insane. Even their boss, Kun Lan, has a bit of the more megalomaniacal variety.
* Spinal of the ''Videogame/KillerInstinct'' games, when he wins.
* The Fleshpound from ''VideoGame/KillingFloor'' will sometimes laugh as he's making his way to the players. Shooting at him will cause him to fly into an UnstoppableRage and let loose a RoarBeforeBeating.
* One of Iori Yagami's more beloved traits in ''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'' series is his habit of breaking into maniacal laughter when he wins a match. This is a bit odd, considering he's also a protagonist. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxDJIpwHAPc Sample]] (the WebVideo/AMVHell project mixed this with footage of [[Manga/DeathNote Light Yagami]], whose name is pronounced the same way).
** Iori with Flames also laughs maniacally in KOF XIII whenever he completes his Shiki Saika combo, his Neomax also has him briefly enter the Riot of Blood state whereupon he laughs evilly and then crushes his enemy with a massive ball of flame.
** Ryuji Yamazaki has a really crazy laugh that's heard in his winpose ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=083Tn-8UP3o example]]). ''2002'' Rugal has a good one, too, but it's to be expected since it's Creator/NorioWakamoto. [[TheOtherDarrin His original voice actor]], Toshimitsu Arai, pulled off a pretty great one in ''[='98=]''.
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7mt8ALcjw0 That very same laugh from Rugal, combined with the Dead End Screamer DM]], created what we all know as the [[MemeticMutation Rugalspin]]. To put this in retrospect, Arai's laugh was so sinister that Wakamoto and ''Arai himself'' (when [[TheOtherDarrin called back to reprise his role]] in the ''VideoGame/SNKVsCapcom'' series and ''The King of Fighters 2002: [[UpdatedRerelease Unlimited Match]]'') couldn't top himself.
* ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'':
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHy99AllPMk=18 Vexen]] from ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsChainOfMemories''. Expected, as it's the voice actor of the aforementioned [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Hojo.]]
** [[DarkActionGirl Larxene]], [[ArtificialHuman Repliku]], and Vanitas also have pretty impressive laughs.
*** Vanitas's laugh deserves a special mention for being especially terrifying, since he shares his voice actor with series protagonist Sora, the personification of good-hearted.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6MgIWGXRww Zexion, too.]]
** Vivi in the Roxas Tutorial.
--->[[LetsPlay/HellfireCommentaries TheHelldragon]]: [after hearing Vivi's creepily evil laugh in the ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' playthrough] Heh heh heh... Please don't knife me.
** Xemnas also has a good one (kind of requisite for any villain voiced by Creator/NorioWakamoto), though in ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'', it's mostly drowned out by the sound of the BeamSpam he's unleashing when he does it. You can hear it much more clearly in ''[[VideoGame/KingdomHearts3DDreamDropDistance Dream Drop Distance]]'' while he's chucking buildings at you, though he doesn't always decide to use it.
** When the surviving Organization members first appear to Sora & Co., they have a chorus of evil laughter at his expense. Most are pretty good... and then there's [[UnEvilLaugh Demyx's rather unintimidating giggle]].
* ''Franchise/{{Kirby}}'':
** Drawcia from ''VideoGame/KirbyCanvasCurse'' has a distinctive high-pitched laugh that she frequently uses. [[spoiler: During her OneWingedAngel form, however, it turns into a nightmarish shriek.]]
** The main antagonist of ''VideoGame/KirbyMassAttack'' does an evil laugh.
** In ''VideoGame/KirbyPlanetRobobot'', [[CorruptCorporateExecutive President Haltmann]] arguably pulls this off better then any Kirby villain to date, starting with a subdued laugh at the beginning of each phase of the fight, and letting out an amazing one when he unleashes his ultimate attack.
* Kain from the ''VideoGame/LegacyOfKain'' series. Ever the maniacal genius, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV0ZTchRRJw#t=7m18s this laugh]] from ''[[VideoGame/LegacyOfKainSoulReaver Soul Reaver]]'' embodies all that he is.
* ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda'': Ganondorf has his fair share of laughs. Sometimes, it is a simple, self-satisfied "Hm-hm-hmm...", other times, it is used in a mocking tone after he has succeeded in an attack.
** One of the most flamboyant is in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker'' where, [[spoiler:after the King of Hyrule uses the Triforce to wish for "hope" for Link and Zelda and the old Hyrule begins to flood and vanish under the water]], Ganon starts to laugh madly, his sanity broken at [[spoiler:seeing all his dreams smashed before his eyes.]] The laughter continues to grow until he is eventually practically shrieking.
** To say nothing of what he was like in ''VideoGame/ZeldaIITheAdventureOfLink''. When you get a Game Over, the evil Ganon laughs at you with the caption GAME OVER RETURN OF GANON. Subverted in the FDS version, where Ganon gives some kind of roar (or a glitchy electronic sound on a poor emulator).
** You can hear the same laugh in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]]'', but it doesn't quite have the same context...
** Then there's his laugh in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosBrawl''. Specifically, in Subspace Emmisary. He's laughing from across a very shaky holographic interface, so his laugh dissolves into the most ''malevolent sounding'' static you've ever heard in your life.
** In another game, Chancellor Cole in ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSpiritTracks''. He laughs before nearly every action.
** In ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaLinksAwakening Link's Awakening]]'' for Nintendo Switch, Façade makes one prior to his boss fight. He also does this whenever you fall into a hole.
* Gongora, the BigBad of ''VideoGame/LostOdyssey'', indulges in evil laughter when his plans are going well. Though, being a VillainWithGoodPublicity, he generally only indulges in it when alone for most of the game.
%%* Ghaleon in ''[[VideoGame/LunarTheSilverStar Lunar: Silver Star Story]]'' for the Platform/PlayStation. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySESWeKO7TM#t=04m19s Tell me this isn't the coolest laugh ever.]]
* In ''VideoGame/MagicalDoropie'', [[spoiler:Empress Elsyia]] does this frequently in her cutscenes.
* During the ending of ''VideoGame/{{Marooned}}'', the villain Radimar had an evil laugh which lasted so long and had such an overabundance of reverberation at the end that it quickly descended into {{Narm}} territory.
* ''VideoGame/MarsupilamiHoobadventure'': During the boss fights with the game's antagonist, he'll laugh evilly and wipe away a tear if you get damaged.
* In ''VideoGame/MegaManPoweredUp'', Dr. Albert Wily has a pretty good one.
* ''VideoGame/MegaManZX'':
** Prometheus. Sure you can only hear it in the Japanese version of the game after losing his battle, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8FeovIMf8o but still!]]
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAilM9YROsc Siarnaq]] laughs like a demented clown, and he's supposed to be a freakin' emotionless ninja! Only in the Japanese version. His English laugh somehow manages to be a CreepyMonotone EvilLaugh.
** Dr. Weil, from ''VideoGame/MegaManZero'', counts as well.
* General Morden, the BigBad of the ''VideoGame/MetalSlug'' series, and his Dragon Allen O'Neal usually laugh upon confronting the player.
%%* Richard Hawk makes a habit of this in ''VideoGame/MetalWolfChaos''.
* ''VideoGame/MetroidPrime'':
** Omega Pirate in the first ''Prime'' has a very chilling evil laugh.
** Dark Samus in ''Metroid Prime'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBVrEObtRf8#t=0m55s 2]] and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNSS4VQLktY#t=2m40s 3]] is an EvilTwin made of ToxicPhlebotinum and has an appropriately distorted laugh.
* Shao Kahn of ''Franchise/MortalKombat''! [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Es-Zqt4mUg&feature=related I rule this world MWAHAHAHAHA!!!]] Unfortunately for him, he has a habit of doing it ''in the middle of a fight'', which leaves him very vulnerable to an attack if the player takes advantage of it.
* ''VideoGame/MoshiMonsters'': Dr Strangeglove, the main villain, goes "Mwahahaha!" a lot, especially while boasting.
* RecurringBoss Fassad in ''VideoGame/Mother3'' has an especially unique one, indicated in his text boxes to be, "NWE-HE-HE-HE-HE-HEEE!"
** "That's one 'Nwe', and eight '-he's."
** He's also got a second one: "NWAHAHAHAHA!"
** Meanwhile, the BigBad, [[spoiler:Porky]], has a few too. They're [[DissonantSerenity surprisingly serene]] for the situation at hand, and as a result, [[LaughingMad very unsettling]].
---> ''Is that funny? It is, isn't it? Does it make you laugh? *cough* *wheeze* ...[[NightmareFuel Are you laughing at me]]?!''
* Klogg, the villain from ''VideoGame/TheNeverhood'', has a pretty awesome laugh, which not only appears in the [[MultipleEndings Bad Ending]] (which manages to top it by having [[spoiler:the hero, Klaymen, do an even better one of his own, after his mutation into a Klogg-like being]]), but in the opening credits as well.
* Matt Helms from ''VideoGame/NoMoreHeroes2DesperateStruggle'' does this whenever he uses his axe flamethrower on Travis.
* The number of human antagonists in the ''[[VideoGame/OctopathTraveler Octopath]] [[VideoGame/OctopathTravelerChampionsOfTheContinent Traveler]]'' [[VideoGame/OctopathTravelerII games]] who ''don't'' burst into evil laughter (or let out sinister chuckling) at least once can be counted on one hand.
** In ''II'', [[TheSneakyGuy Throné Anguis]], while [[DarkIsNotEvil not evil]], is prone to sinister chuckling after succeeding at either of her Path Actions, Steal and Ambush.
* In ''VideoGame/PhantasyStarOnline2'', Dark Falz [[spoiler: Elder]] indulges in this very frequently, whether he's conversing or fighting. It contributes to him being one of the [[LargeHam biggest hams]] in the game.
* The boss fight score in ''VideoGame/{{Plok}}'' not only was [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic great music (as was the entire game in general)]], but also featured [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHy6vEbh464 some very evil laughter indeed]].
* ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'':
** ''VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeon'':
*** In ''VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonRescueTeam'', [[{{Jerkass}} Gengar]] has his well known, "Keh keh keh!"
*** In ''VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonExplorers'', most of the villains have a unique Evil Laugh.
*** Zubat: "Heh heh heh"
*** Koffing: "Whoa ho ho"
*** Skuntank: "Chaw haw haw"
*** [[spoiler:Dusknoir]]: "Hoo hoo hah!"
*** Sableye: "Weh heh heh"
*** [[spoiler: [[KnightofCerebus Darkrai]]]]: "[=MuhehehehehahahahaHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAA=]!!!"
** In ''VideoGame/PokemonRanger'', [[KnightOfCerebus Purple Eyes]] uses "Heh heh heh." often enough it could practically be his VerbalTic[=/=]{{Catchphrase}}.
** ''VideoGame/PokemonLegendsArceus:'' In the post-game storyline, Volo -- who up until now has been odd but mostly helpful -- suddenly cracks out a demented burst of laughter while looking around the Celestica Ruins, which he ''insists'' is just him being overcome with emotion. [[spoiler:Moments later he turns out to have been EvilAllAlong.]]
* ''VideoGame/Portal2'':
** [[spoiler:Wheatley]] gets one, which seals [[spoiler:his FaceHeelTurn]], and later comments on how exhausting that kind of laughter is.
** The defective turret you designate as the new master turret template will emit one whenever one of its faulty brethren makes it past quality control or when one of the functional turrets gets launched into the incinerator.
** Creator/EllenMcLain, [=GLaDOS=]' voice actress, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is7DQRoFcz0 has one, and it is terrifying]].
* [[spoiler:Clive]] from ''VideoGame/ProfessorLaytonAndTheUnwoundFuture'' gets a very nice one upon his [[TheReveal reveal]] as the game's BigBad.
* ''Franchise/ResidentEvil'':
** Although he mostly avoids this in all his other appearances, Albert Wesker can't resist letting fly with this in ''VideoGame/ResidentEvilCodeVeronica''. He's definitely outclassed by the Ashford twins, though; both seem to have a rather serious, nay, ''terminal'' case of the sillies.
** He lets out a villainous laugh in ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil4'''s "Assignment Ada" ending. In ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil5'', he lets out a derisive chuckle or two early on, but in the final battle, [[spoiler:he's too busy having a VillainousBreakdown to indulge in this, preferring instead to growl like a madman and go on a MotiveRant]].
** There's also ''VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom3'', in which he does it with his moves like shooting his opponent with his Samurai Edge.
* In ''VideoGame/RivalSchools'', Kurow Kirishima, master of the SlasherSmile, sneaks sinister laughter into his win poses.
* The Prince in the early parts of ''VideoGame/RuleOfRose'' has an EvilLaugh that varies from quick giggle to truly psychotic cackle as he has Jennifer in his power. He becomese much more subdued later on, however, as his role in the story becomes more ambigious.
-->'''The Prince:''' For I am the Prince, and the Prince rules! Mwahahahahaaa! This is your life, but you're playing by my rules! Hahahahahaaa!
* ''[[VideoGame/RumbleAtTheCampus Rumble! @ the Campus]]'': Hotaru Katsuragi and her evil laugh is enough for you to urinate in your own pants.
%%** We have the Shirogane family: Hayato, Hinako, and their father, Principal Hideo. Only the principal's wife, Dr. Hikari Shirogane, does not do this.
%%** Don't forget Dark Kiyo as well.
* [[AGodAmI Vex]] does it in ''VideoGame/SackboyABigAdventure'' whenever he emits, well, an EvilLaugh.
* ''[[VideoGame/SamAndMaxFreelancePolice Sam and Max: Culture Shock]]'':
** This trope gets spoofed, where Brady Culture is heard practicing his evil laugh as he [[SurveillanceAsThePlotDemands spies on the Freelance Police meddling in his plans]], and it grows from weak to genuinely menacing.
** [[spoiler: Hugh Bliss]] lets out a rather creepy one in ''Bright Side of the Moon.''
%%** But, to no one's surprise, the best example of this trope in these games comes from none other than [[HeroicComedicSociopath Max]] in The Penal Zone.
* ''Franchise/ShinMegamiTensei'':
** In ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIIINocturne'', [[TheDragon Meta]][[LightIsNotGood tron]] has a positively '''sinister''' laugh [[https://youtu.be/aUIsWoruvM4?t=1m34s when he casts]] [[SignatureMove Fire of Sinai]].
** ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiStrangeJourney'' has an odd ''second-hand'' version of this if you take the Chaos route: [[spoiler:after the protagonist murders Ubergestalt Gore, Jiminez says in shock, "[Player name]! Did you just laugh?!?"]]
** In ''VideoGame/Persona5'', the anti-heroic protagonist's starting Persona has an absolutely diabolical laugh when he's summoned for the first time.
* Walter Sullivan from ''VideoGame/SilentHill4'' laughs before, during, and after he attacks you, as well as when ''you'' are attacking ''him''.
* Evil Witch/Warlock Sims in ''VideoGame/TheSims2'' had idle sequences in which they would cackle and perform FingerTenting. In Sims the Third, if your character has the Evil trait, they'll cackle and wring their hands in the most satisfying way, point ominously at other Sims and gloat about...their impending doom?
* Mephiles the Dark [[https://youtu.be/59k7f9UP-_k lets out a big one]] in ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2006'' after [[spoiler:stabbing Sonic InTheBack.]]
* Joey Rottenwood of ''VideoGame/TheSpellcastingSeries'' has one, which is little surprise given his status as a GenreSavvy CardCarryingVillain. Even when the series had few sound effects, his evil cackle was always included.
* Lampshaded in ''VideoGame/SplinterCellPandoraTomorrow'' when a terrorist typing a speech by his boss includes the following footnote: " {note: ironic, not maniacal}".
%%* Darth Malak in ''VideoGame/StarWarsKnightsOfTheOldRepublic'' gets into this near the end of the game.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Stellaris}}'', the translation software gives up when faced with the StarfishLanguage of the [[HordeOfAlienLocusts Prethoryn Scourge]]. But their random interjections of "HAK HAK HAK!", mixed in with gibberish, need no translation.
* In the ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' series, Sagat was the first to break out the evil laugh whenever he wins a match, which he still does to this day.
** ''VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha'' has Vega and Bison (especially Shin Bison in ''Alpha 3'') following his example.
** Gill and Urien both have evil chuckles.
** Juri Han has a real evil laugh whenever she wins a match.
** Oni laughs if his Meido Gohado knocks you out in ''Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition''.
** Subverted with Chun-Li, as her laughter is not evil.
* ''VideoGame/StreetsOfRage'' has [[BigBad Mr. X]] laughing whenever the he struck the player down or if he or she lost a life while fighting him.
* Grandmaster Meio does this in ''VideoGame/StriderArcade'', both when you start the game AND when you lose all your lives.
* Luca Blight from ''VideoGame/SuikodenII'' (pictured above) has an evil laugh accompanied by an enormous amount of exclamation marks.
* In ''VideoGame/{{Sundered}}'', the boss Dominion greets the player with a malevolent chuckle before putting on his [[WhiteMaskOfDoom mask]] and starting the boss fight. The Shining Trapezohedron also indulges in maniacal cackling on occasion, most notably during the final boss fights.
* Here's a fun fact: when you speed up Bowser's ''VideoGame/SuperMario64'' laugh, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crx21K5uMIk it sounds like Boo!]]
** He let out a particularly infamous one at the very beginning of ''Hotel Mario'' ("It's dat creepy Bowsuh's laugh!"), which has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYUy_dCiszM been mocked and re-mocked]] in YouTubePoop videos about 50,000 times now.
** Whenever Bowser laughs, he either goes "GWAHAHAHA!" or "BWAHAHAHA!"
** In ''VideoGame/SuperPaperMario'', Count Bleck has his own weird laugh, "Bleh heh heh heh heh... BLECK!"
*** Dimentio’s "Aha ha ha ha ha ha ha".
*** Mimi's, which doubles as PokemonSpeak: Mimimimimimimi!
** ''[[VideoGame/PaperMarioTheThousandYearDoor Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]'' has at least ''five'' villains with their own distinct laughs: Grodus ("Gaaack aaack aaack aaack aaack!"), Lord Crump ("Buh! Buh huh huh huh huh!"), Beldam ("Mwee hee hee hee hee!"), [[spoiler:Doopliss]] ("Yuk yuk yuk!"), and [[spoiler:the Shadow Queen]] ("Muh huh huh huh huh!").
** Being who he is, [[VideoGame/WarioLand Wario]] has been known to do this. He even does this in his first appearance ([[VideoGame/SuperMarioLand2SixGoldenCoins Super Mario Land 2]]), or at least that's what it's supposed to sound like.
*** WAH HA HA HA! AHH HAH HAH HAH!! WAH HAH HAH HAH HAH!!! One of his victory taunts in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Very nice, Wario.
*** In the ''VideoGame/WarioLand'' series, Rudy the Clown and the Golden Diva have evil laughs; the former's is quite sinister, especially for a Platform/GameBoyColor MonsterClown, and the latter's is a NoblewomansLaugh that develops into LaughingMad as Wario [[WouldHitAGirl beats the ever-loving crap out of her face]].
** Cackletta and Fawful in the ''VideoGame/MarioAndLuigi'' series take every opportunity they can to let out an evil chuckle.
* ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'': Master and Crazy Hand, with [=MH's=] being deeper and more serious and [=CH's=] as the LaughingMad variant. Here's an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNZulxiz_MI&feature=video_response example.]]
** In fact, Crazy Hand's laugh in ''Melee'' was a ''reversed'' version of Master Hand's for extra-creepiness. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7J41Ezhrpc See here]].
** This all becomes ''even creepier'' when you realize that in every game (even in the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS9WhYhrQ80 original]]), Master and Crazy Hand [[ActingForTwo share their voices]] with TheNarrator.
* The first three ''VideoGame/SyphonFilter'' games ended with a laugh from Mara Aramov.
* In ''VideoGame/SystemShock2'', SHODAN lets out plenty of these in the boss fight with her, along with BossBanter, [[spoiler:and in the ending when she shows her "new look"]].
* [[spoiler:Mithos Yggdrasill]] of ''VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia'' manages the third kind in a spectacularly creepy fashion in at least one scene...another is [[{{Anvilicious}} debatable]].
** On one of these occasions, he is kicking [[spoiler:Yuan]] on a potentially endless loop (that is, until you can drag your eyes away from the train wreck and press A).
** The sequel had Emil doing this during his Mystic Arte.
** Raine does this a lot when she's in Ruin Mode.
* ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'':
** The Engineer has one as a taunt.
** The Medic's and Spy's laugh commands alternates between this and some very {{Un Evil Laugh}}s.
** [[http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/b/be/Announcer_cart_attacker_finalwarning5.wav The Administrator.]]
** The Über Update added the Schadenfreude taunt, which allows all classes to laugh for several seconds.
* Various villains in ''VideoGame/TearsToTiara2''. The most distinct one is from [[TheBaroness Izebel]], [[spoiler: and she's half pretending and half LaughingMad.]]
* ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}}'':
** Bryan Fury from in has a particularly disturbing one, thanks to the mechanical effect on his voice (due to his being a cyborg) but the iconic laughter was changed in ''Tekken 6'', much to the disappointment of some fans (and the delight of some other).
** Kazuya Mishima belts out a triumphant one is his non-canon ending for ''Tekken 4'' after absorbing Devil's remaining half from his son Jin Kazama (whom he beat into unconsciousness) as a dark aura explodes around him with the recompletion of the infamous demon's full appearance.
** Then there's Devil Jin, who has a Jokeresquely high evil laugh after winning in a fight, complete with an evil grin that shows off his pearly whites.
** In ''Tekken 5'', Jinpachi Mishima, The final boss and Kazuya's grandfather has been possessed by a demon and comes with a [[VoiceOfTheLegion demonic voice]] and his intro pose shows him doing an evil demonic laugh, he also laughs demoniacally when he manages to hit the opponent with his fireballs.
** He isn't and has never been evil, but Eddy Gordo still had one long enough to clip into the next match's loading screen in ''3'' and ''Tag Tournament''.
* Wild Dog laughs in every appearance in the ''VideoGame/TimeCrisis'' games.
* This trope is in its art form in the ''VideoGame/TrailsSeries''. Some examples include [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsInTheSky Georg Weissman]], [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsFromZeroAndTrailsToAzure Mariabell Crois]], [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsOfColdSteel Alberich]], [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsIntoReverie Ishmelga-Rean]], and [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsThroughDaybreak Gerard Dantes]]. And when they laugh, they ooze a lot of evil.
* The Guardian from the final ''VideoGame/{{Ultima}}'' trilogy had a particularly memorable, bass-pitched, resonating laugh, courtesy of Bill Johnson and a filter that made his voice progressively deeper in each of the games.
* ''Videogame/{{ULTRAKILL}}:'' [[spoiler:King Sisyphus]] isn't exactly evil, so much as he is a ''brutally'' determined BloodKnight, ruthless and inflexible in his morals to the point of dragging his people to deaths he knew were futile, much like his own. But as he [[spoiler:proudly declares that [[IRegretNothing he doesn't regret a second of his life no matter how much pointless struggle he put in it]] and dies cackling with satisfaction as he [[FinalDeath explodes into light]]]], his [[DieLaughing literal last laugh]] very much qualifies, pinning him as someone that would do ''all of it'' all over again.
* Flowey of ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'' has a creepy laugh that he pulls out often against you. [[spoiler:It becomes even ''worse'' when he turns into [[BotanicalAbomination Photoshop Flowey]]. However, this is '''nothing''' compared to the Fallen Child's if you claim a Pacifist ending ''after'' a No Mercy run.]]
* ''VideoGame/ValkyrieProfile2Silmeria's'' [[spoiler:Lezard Valeth]] has a pretty [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBhksfGFiQ8 maniacal laugh]] when he pulls off a special -- [[spoiler: more so when he teleports around during the final boss battle.]]
* When being hacked in ''VideoGame/WelcomeToTheGame'', you're presented with a digital skull avatar who gives a flat, robotic laugh.
* ''VideoGame/WishboneAndTheAmazingOdyssey'': Polyphemus lets out a few after he's telling his sheep to "Say goodbye to the nice sailors. They won't be here when you get back!"
* Elisabeth from ''VideoGame/WitchesLegacy'' has a pretty awesome cackle in the style of the Wicked Witch of the West.
* In ''VideoGame/TheWitchsHouse'', reading a story about how a man killed his dog over a misunderstanding causes a creepy laugh to reverberate throughout the room Viola is in. [[spoiler:It's most likely Viola/Ellen herself laughing at the story.]]
* ''VideoGame/WizardOfWor'':
** [[RoboSpeak The Wi-zard of Wo-r]]. Ha-ha-ha-ha.
** Not only that, but an extended version occurs during one of the Wizards "Game Over" quotes:
--->Hee-hee-hee ho-ho-ho ha-ha-ha-ha. That-was-fun.
* Every Undead character's /laugh in ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft''.
** Also, blood elves, to some degree; the females especially sound rather psychotic. The male gnome and (ironically) draenei /laugh emotes (respectively a high-pitched cackle and a raucous guffaw) also sound a bit maniacal. And female trolls sound like the Wicked Witch of the West.
** Due to the introduction of death knights, every race and gender can now have one, via an optional [[VoiceOfTheLegion sound filter]].
** Many, ''many'' bosses in [=WoW=] invoke this trope.
---> '''Malygos:''' What could you hope to accomplish, to storm brazenly into MY domain? To employ MAGIC? Against ME? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
** In a recently opened raid, Ulduar, the final boss [[spoiler: [[EldritchAbomination Yogg-Saron]]]] gets a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLlgxOo55IQ particularly nasty one]] whenever he casts a certain spell.
*** The Crone from Karazhan's Opera event is no slouch.
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkeC9WVVsQ4 You face Jaraxxus]] and his EvilLaugh.
*** If you ever spend time in [[OminousFloatingCastle Naxxramas]], you'll quickly come to dread [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3VEalDEF-c#t=2m22s this laugh]] whenever [[OurLichesAreDifferent Kel'Thuzad]] manages to [[DwindlingParty kill one of your team mates]][[note]]usually after said teammate [[TooDumbToLive stands still inside of a swirling vortex of shadowy death]][[/note]].
*** The Blood Princes council, when they get a buff (some of them at least).
*** The Headless Horseman [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6clE_VjuZs has a good theatrical one]]. His helmet will allow characters to perform it, too.
* ''VideoGame/XCOMEnemyUnknown'': Your psionic troopers give ''bloodcurdling'' ones when they use [[MindRape Mindfray.]] It either makes you chuckle along with them or makes you wonder if Dr. Shen was right...
* Albedo Piazzola from the ''VideoGame/{{Xenosaga}}'' series had a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZGXIYOhqQs particularly deranged]] EvilLaugh fitting with his [[AxCrazy overall character.]]
** His voice actor is Creator/CrispinFreeman, for those wondering. And no, he's not insane despite how it sounds so because of his rather convincingly crazy laugh. He's just that awesome at voice acting.
** His [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W3exv4jccI&feature=related Japanese voice]] doesn't fail to impress either.
** Sellers, the resident MadScientist, does one when Jr. and the others find out that [[spoiler: Dmitri, Jr.'s crazy father, is going after the Durandal and its crew.]] It's not nearly as maniacal as Albedo's is, but it's still worth mentioning.
** Also, the Patriach has a particularly weird one.
* Mojo does this in ''VideoGame/XMen1993'' any time you him if you don't strike his vulnerable place.
* [[FatBastard Mojo]] laughs every time you hit him in ''VideoGame/XMen1993'' unless you manage to strike his vulnerable spot.
* In ''VideoGame/YandereSimulator'', the laugh button can be pressed three times in quick succession, graduating Yandere-chan's innocent giggle to cackling like a madwoman. Evil laughter can actually help restore your SanityMeter. Just be careful that your fellow students don't see you laughing like a cartoon villain, lest they think you a nut and cause damage to your reputation (or worse still, [[GameOver if Senpai sees you]]...!).
* In ''VideoGame/YsIIAncientYsVanishedTheFinalChapter'', Dalles generally uses his sinister laugh to announce his presence.
